HOW TO MAKE A ROUTING COMPASS | MAKING A 2 IN 1 JIG

- I saw this rather interesting jig on the channels from Marius Hornberger and DIY Thosa.
For me the original design is too bulky. I like to have things small and compact, so they take less storage space. Moreover, I don't had a beam compass to draw bigger circles. So i deside to make this 2 in 1 Jig. I made it with a T-Track, which is retractable, to keep the campass compact. And I wanted to use several different pencils and markers with the compass. I also can use a exacto knife to cut circles on paper, cardboard or EVA-Foam if i have to.
I hope you like my design as much as I do.

Great idea. Suggestion: Make the pencil holder section twice as thick. Move the clamp to the upper portion. The pencil tip or pen tip can be set just below the bottom surface. Diameter of circle easier to set and more accurate.
With the extra Covid-19 shop time, I had time to make some jigs. This is one of them. Thanks for the video.
I love your placing the drill bits so near the drill press,
What a great little 2-in-1 tool! I love the simple but multi-propose design.
Thank you
LOL Do you ever sleep or do you lay awake and think these thing up? Cool jig!
Great new take on an old device!!! Love the adjustable feature! I can tell from this and other videos you like t-tracks ;)
I love your use of the 'T' track. I made the kerf jig yesterday. I don't need another compass, but I will make this also, because it is a very simple circle cutting jig for the router. It is much easier and faster than the type which replaces the router base plate.
Thank you.
Yepp, just made your kerf jig, now I simply have to make this one too.
Will be perfect for making waste boards for my drillpress.
I made a custom jig for that for my handheld router but this I can use on the router table.
Brilliant design! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you
Very simple and very effective, great work
Thank you
Perfect idea... another well done project.
It'll come in handy very quickly.

Love the use as a circle routing jig! With a small adaptation, it can be also used in the disk sander.
Thanks.

Very nicely done thank you
I'm glad if you like it
Bella idea!!! Complimenti👍👍
Grazie
Great wideo see ya again soon 😎
Thanks 😎
I think it might be easier to make it completed first and then later cut it to width... Then you can make it on the tablesaw instead of the router.
Using your kerf jig 🤪
ottimo progetto
