I always wanted to make my own hand Sanding Block for sanding belts. I found a online shop, which sells very nice sanding blocks with a quick tensioning lever. And I found someone that made something similar. He uses a Excenter to tension the sanding belt. But I want the Ultimate Sanding Block with a tensioning lever that has a defined end position, and that makes a clicking sound by tensioning the sanding belt. So I came up with my own version of the Ultimate Sanding Block. I'm very happy with my Ultimate Sanding Block. It works very nice and it feels good when I tension the sanding belt. With this Ultimate Sanding Block I don't need several blocks. Because the change of the grit, goes so fast as to take another block out.

Great job!! There is an added benefit of your wood block. You can add a right-angle fence to one side. This will help sanding edges square. You could also add a 45-deg fence to the side. This will allow you to sand longer miter corners.

Nice project. You can improve it adding a couple of springs on both sides. The contraction will be automatic.

Wunderbares projekt, ich werde Deine Pläne vielleicht noch ordern. Aber eines musst machen : auf der Heimwerkerhelden Seite das große "Gratis" aus der Überschrift nehmen, und 7 Euro ist schon ein bisschen happig, wenn man sieht, dass der Truppe sie für 4,95 verkauft. Nur so als Anstoss. Für mich als Rentner ohne große Rente sind 7 Euro schon einiges ! Trotzdem würd ich lieber jemanden wie Dich unterstützen, als den Truppe (nichts gegen Ihn, aber er hat genügend)😉😉
