    fab run through on a very powerful sampler....i mostly use samplers from other DAW's or kontakt, but have a need to use logic more and this was a great introduction into getting started. thanks heaps. can't help but notice and this is for all logic users i imagine,but that when you displayed the whole set you're working on just how 'bland' logic is as a daw...(obviously heavily personal opinion) and that when confronted with, and put off by this i quickly turned to LPX colorizer from creationauts to get a whole new skin and color palette....for anyone who might feel the same as me...totally worth it and beats moddin' yerself coz logic is pretty complex under the hood...again this was a fab tutorial.

    Hi - maybe a dumb question, but - once you’ve created your samples/ chops - how do you actually ‘record’ these onto the track? Do you press record and play it in live?

    • @femtohimself71
      @femtohimself71 2 роки тому +1

      yes, you press record, and need a midi controller or you can use the musical typing view in logic. playing a this will alter the pitch of the sample, typically the sample that you downloaded will play it's "normal" pitch or sound at middle C (C3) on the keyboard

    Why does my sample pitch change when I region or bounce what play recorded? And sometimes the regioned or bounced sample is also choppy once regioned or bounced, why? It doesn’t always happen but when it does it’s annoying because the pitch of the bounce version is so different and parts of the audio wave has pieces silenced

    Thanks for that awesome tutorial for Logics Sampler. I really loved it and it helped me clear up on the mystery on how to use it. I saw towards the end of the video when you played the demo, I heard a beautiful sounding piano in the background. I think the track is named chords but not sure of that. Is that a splice sample of it? If so, where or how in splice can I find piano samples/loops like that. I so loved it. If you can let me know at your convenience, that would be great. Thanks again for sharing you knowledge with us.

    What about 808 one shots found on Splice? Do you ever use Flex Tempo/Follow Tempo with the 808s? Like you mentioned, I've found that it evens out the time in which the sample plays but it can change the characteristic of the sound. What do you think most people do with 808 samples in Logic? I've been avoiding using them because I feel like I'd rather have more control with Serum but I do want to use them but I'm afraid I'm doing it wrong

    • @peraltabeats8125
      @peraltabeats8125 3 роки тому +1

      I’ve had similar results most likely because the samples are already processed (compression, distortion, etc) which adds extra harmonics which in turn makes the task of pitching up/pitching down more complex for the Quick Sampler resulting in the artifacts you hear. Try using unprocessed samples/pure waves first then work on the tone of the 808 getting it to sound how you like by processing it with effects. Thank you for checking this out- (sorry for the late response). I hope this helps!

    Do you think that Serato Sample is better?

    • @peraltabeats8125
      @peraltabeats8125 3 роки тому

      One immediate observation from my initial use of Sampler and comparing it to Serato is that Sampler tends to produce artifacts when sample plays back slow or fast more so than Serato. Obviously these two separate samplers are using two different algorithms hence the difference in performance. I’ve only scratched the surface with Serato myself. For the longest time I’ve been plotting my samples in the timeline- not even putting it in EXS and I’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of that method. I bought Serato to be able to playback my samples on a controller and now Sampler does that for the user and it’s free...

    When will logic be available on splice?

    • @peraltabeats8125
      @peraltabeats8125 3 роки тому +1

      Logic isn’t available from any third party retailers- it’s exclusively an Apple App Store app. Apple doesn’t sell any of its pro apps outside of the App Store so it’s highly unlikely we will ever see this on Splice for purchase.

    • @studioonewrld

      What makes studio one better?

    • @peraltabeats8125
      @peraltabeats8125 3 роки тому +1

      @@studioonewrld I feel you and that’s the other thing Logic is only Mac. I’ve been hearing great things about Studio 1. (Splice put out some tutorials for Studio 1). I’m sure it does some things really well. For me I’ve been using Logic since 2007 and obviously love it but at the end of the day the DAW of choice is just a tool for your voice and creativity. I’d probably make the same beat on a different DAW because that’s what I’m feeling. Its such a level playing field now with production- you can’t really tell what’s made with what and that’s kinda cool because coming up you might feel like you have to have a certain thing/gear/plugins to achieve a sound your aiming for and now everything is practically right there within your DAW. Thank you for checking this out and keep doing your thing!
