For real, best tutorials on this stuff. I think a lot how Tony knows how to pace his speaking so you're not constantly backtracking to figure out what he said.
Gee, I used to be so jealous of the MPC-guys on UA-cam, having such a smooth workflow. Finally with quick sampler and your tutorial, Logic finally has the sample ability it should have!
Couldn't agree more! I hope Apple stays with some regular updates because they've really made Logic a great DAW to work with. Thanks for watching + the comment
@@itstonyholiday One more thing on my wishlist: sampling directly into Logic's quick sampler... Do you know if there's any possibility? Now I use Audio Hijack to sample from Y****be and Spo***y. Then, I import the samples into Logic. I was happy to see the record button in quick sampler, but it doesn't seem to sample outside of Logic, does it?
@@frans9690 I haven't tried but I'm willing to bet that it probably doesn't. Apple doesn't natively allow sound recording from the internals anyways, you need to get a 3rd party driver. The only thing I could think of that would be a stretch would be to get the 3rd party driver, set your Logic ins and outs to be the Mac internal speakers, set the channel in Logic to said input, then record from the Q-sampler. If that's the case, you're probably better off doing the way you already you it.

@@itstonyholiday Yeah, the videos are super easy to follow and really hit on all the things people need to learn to actually be productive and apply what they learn in an instant, they've been SO helpful that way. Re: DJing, I've been at it since the 80s, started off doing battles and school dances, spent a good part of the 90s doing mobile gigs, fell back into the club scene in the SF Bay Area around 2004 playing Hip Hop, R&B, House in large clubs and lounges. Definitely towards the end of my career now and with COVID, it's been a great time to dive back into production (would eventually love to put out an EP some day). Like production, good DJing takes time, but the two go hand in hand, the real beauty is, by producing, you can really keep your DJ sound unique/fresh...best of both worlds!
@@wendelldavis484 Man that's so cool! That timeframe in the bay is such an under rated music era. Funny they do go hand in hand but are very different in the sense DJing you're very much spending a lot of time publicly whereas producing you can spend a lot of time by yourself. I would love to get proficient at both as well. Making an EP would be dope. Do you sing/rap/songwrite as well?
Man, I though it was pretty sub-par but if you think so then yes can defo make a tutorial for that. Thanks for always showing support Karl! Really appreciate you

Man DJing is a skill in itself. I picked up a controller a couple years ago and learned basic beat matching and transitions but holy you gotta dedicate time to it to become really good. Whereabouts did/do you play typically? Clubs, lounges, events?
Do you sing/rap/songwrite as well?

good tutorial, thanks! idk if I missed it, but maybe you should´ve mentioned copyright when it comes to sampling other peoples songs?
Yea I mean the tutorial is how to do it, not the legal behind it. If you’re curious there’s a gentleman that commented some research down below. Thanks for watching, really appreciate the comment! 🙌
Helpful thanks 🙏🏼
Thanks for watching Adam!
You do any more Logic vids man? Love what you’ve done so far - I’ve learnt loads - might I suggest using busses / oscillators / or introduction to drum beats across different styles?
Yes man! Thank you so much for the suggestions. I've been slacking on the vids tbh. Had some personal stuff happen and it's been a busy summer. Really want to get back on it soon, but these are great suggestions. Thank you for watching + reaching out.
@@itstonyholiday Of course man, makes total sense - life happens! I'm subscribed anyways so look forward to getting that new video notification when you're back at it. Whatever you decide to focus on next, I'm sure it'll be awesome, so yeah, keep up the great tutorials!

when I drag the audio file into quick sampler like that it gives me an error that says "the file does not exist" any tips?
Interesting. Did you move it to a different folder after putting it in your project?

tony, again, great tutorial. its so good to watch someone know what theyre doing. its so helpful. and you always give good sense of direction. keep up this awesome work. btw loving the new drum kit. cant wait to see vol. 2. one question: how did you make your beat tag?
My guy, thank you so much! You’ve been showing love for awhile, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it.
I always try to explain things in the same way that I understood them when I figured it out, so I’m happy that other people find the same concepts helpful.
Beat tag, my friend came over and I got her to say a bunch of random shit for like a half hour. Then compressed, verb, delay, and mess with it til it sounds almost fake.
Crazy8 thank you again for all the love ✊ you a real one
Tony Holiday thanks bro you always there to help👑🐐
I don't see the different slices when I go into my midi at 7:33. Is there an option that allows you to turn it on?
Advanced settings on?
Could you do a video on how to arrange beats?
Austin2K yes this is a great request, I have had a few people ask for this. Gotta get back on the videos soon, thanks for the shout and I appreciate you watching 👍
