Nathan Larsen you‘re welcome!
You a goon for this! Thank you!
6 -> Or freeze the track to do the exact same thing without creating or replacing the track with something else.
Really enjoyed the video! My number one tip is to read the online manual. In Logic you have a world class piece of highly developed software and you are denying yourself of it's (and therefore your own) potential if you are bluffing your way through on a few UA-cam videos. The manual is online, free, broken up into bite size pieces, searchable, cross-indexed and up to date.
Do you have the link for online manual?
@@edgaracevedo9658 No, but Google does.
16:07 you can improve the sound by changing the pitch method to polyphonic by using Flex Pitch !
Hey Nathan, I've been working in Logic for 20 years - back to Emagic! But I still learned from this video. Amazing how one doesn't know what one doesn't know:) Many thanks.
I'm coming back to Logic after a long hiatus (Logic 8) and this has been a fantastic look into things I should have known and also tips for the newer version - very thankful to be stumbling upon your channel and will definitely be checking out more periodically once I get the hang of some of these more fluently 🙏
I have been using Logic since it was owned by eMagic. It continues to get better and better, bigger and bigger. Thanks for your help in researching the details and putting them out there. I always learn something, and it is good to have a refresher on the things I do (or did) know, as well as new features.
this was so helpful dude!! I’ve been using logic for what feels like forever and I only knew a few of these tips! I also went through the comments and saw you liking and responding to each one, and that just gave me so much more respect for you dawgie! Subscribed before I even finished the vid, keep up the good work my guy!!
That's amazing!! Super stoked to hear this helped you and brought you value! Welcome to the channel fam! 🙏🙏🙏🙏😎😎😎😎
I learned way more than 17 tips from this video just watching you maneuver the application. Your competence inspires. Subbed.
That's awesome! Thanks! And welcome to the channel fam!
thanks man,for later🙏
Omgosh. This is also so helpful. #16 has been a bane to recording vocals but knowing this will save me so much time doing more takes especially when I like a take but there’s that one part ya know? Your channel is so helpful. Thank you.
Dude ! That was phenomenal.
Specially the 'latch mode' for automation and reverse/pitch change'.. Excellent demonstration.
thanks Nathan for creating this video.. so helpful as I'm getting started.. some I'm ready for now, some I'll bookmark and revisit cheers!
Just watched this. The first couple I knew from various sessions but by the end...my mind is now blown. Strip Silence and Flex Pitch volume is going to be a game changer for me
Just got logic prox this was one of the best quick learn vids I've seen, and I've seen a ton. Keep them coming!
using flex pitch to adjust the level of the vocal is seriously brilliant! thank you
vintage tube eq is one of my favorite plugins, like period.
Love it!
Great Tips Nathan, thanks for making this video!
Best video I've ever seen -- thank you!!! So many tips!!
Omg number 15 and 17 are gonna be game changers thank you so much!
Thank you for these tips! I've been using Logic for years and didn't know some of these.
For sure! Glad it helped ya!
Such an awesome and thoroughly useful video!!! 🔥
Super cool video man-- I've actually been using the transpose function to put together bass lines (since I don’t own one) where I'll cut the bass line on the low e string of my guitar and transpose it down. Has been working for me much better than combining different midi sounds!
Wow! Some really good and timesaving tips in here. Thank you! 🙏
Hi and thanx for your tips, love your Compressor and Valhalla humour !
Good helpful stuff Nathan. Thank you man!
good stuff .... i never knew about about most of this stuff but what hit home as a newbie is that click track adjustment
Dude, you deserve a second comment because you are saving my life here with these tips! Also you got a new sub!
You're awesome! Thank you! 🙏🙏
Thanks for this! Yes, a video dedicated to BUS usage and management would be so incredibly helpful. Much appreciated.
saving presets ... I knew there was a way to do it.. but thanks for showing me.. because once I got the normal vocal presets right.. I didn't want to have to individually do the same thing for each project so i'm grateful now.
This is REALLY good content Nathan. Thanks a lot!
Awesome video my friend! I'm just a hobby guy looking for more ways to make things interesting and I took a bunch of notes here. I'm really looking forward to trying some of these tips! Rock on brother!!!
TY for sharing all your knowledge 😊 !
this was sooo helpful, thank you so much!! I'm going to be so much quicker at producing and mixing now 🙏
So, so helpful, from the first tip to the last. Thank you!
Absolutely! Happy to hear that 🙏
Literally changed everything. Earned yourself a new subscriber. Keep this up!
Best video I have watched on production so far. I'm a vocal producer and getting into full production. Wow.
Short and sweet tips with no extra bs. Thank you for that.
Thanks! 🙏🙏
I came back again to this, still helpful.
Someone may have already mentioned this but instead of using the scissor tool for your secondary tool I find it's way more useful to use the marquee tool. The Marquee will technically is a scissor tool! Just command click and it will slice right where you click and for even more efficient cutting if you click and drag and then click again it'll create two cuts for you in one smooth motion. This is also great for adding automation points very quickly as when you drag and click it'll automatically create four points for boosting or reducing automation values! Incredibly powerful and compared to what just the scissors can do alone
Yes! I have tried multiple times to get into a workflow with the Marquee tool but never could get super used to it to be honest. I totally get it is more of an all around tool but I've been using scissors for literally years that it's tough to break it and get into a new habit haha! Maybe I'm lazy LOL!
Nathan Larsen if you get used to the Marquee you will make another video of “I wish I knew this when I started using the scissors” 😉 you can do pretty much the same thing with the marquee and maybe 5-6 other things. If you select a section in between 2 bars and hit the Repeat shortcut, it repeats that section. Useful for when you have a region that’s not aligned to the grid but you want to make an exact copy and keep the position. The same can be applied to copy-paste. Select the section, hit copy, go to the beat where you want to paste it, click with the marque to set the “in” point and hit paste. That’s it 😊 and there’s more...
@@iamdannywyatt Haha! You got me sold :) haha
@@iamdannywyatt I agree. Also you can snip with Command T which is what I tend to do out of habit.
C Pryme How do you cut a period?...and does it then turn into a comma?...jk 😜
Incredible video. Great tips. I did know a couple of them. But I need to watch this a few more times to absorb it all. Thanks for making it.
That's great! Happy that it's helped ya!
Thanks for the tips Nathan!
Thanks for these! Good stuff!
Of course!! Happy to help!
These would've saved me so much time and workarounds, subscribed! 💪😭
Wow thank you so much. You've answered alot of my questions that other logic users couldn't
Awesome love hearing that!
Like I said on your livestream last week Nathan, I don't know whether to be happy or pissed when I discover an incredibly helpful shortcut that's been there for years. This one was a game changer for my very specific circumstance. I play guitar for a lot of composer's for TV, film and a lot of game scores. Obviously the composers I work for are mainly keyboardists and don't play guitar, or they wouldn't call me, so their midi parts for guitar are often either very staccato (lots of 16ths with 16th rest by the millions) or ultra legato (with some arpeggios with tied notes that last bars) - in other words unreadable. I would edit the midi via Command-6 until the music Command-3 was readable and as intended. One day, and I have no idea how long it had been there, I noticed on the midi roll (command-3) a little box - "interpretation" - click... WHAT!?!?!?! How long has that been there? Also "no overlap'" to get rid of the heavy hand syndrome. I need to do a similar video, but it will be more unused ones like that. Thanks and subbed... Tom Strahle
Best LPX tip video I've seen so far! Thanks!
Epic! Thanks! 😎🙏 love hearing that
Awesome vid. Thanks!
The tip about locking regions to SMPTE - at about 17:00 - really got my attention. Thank you!
Awesome thanks!
Love the track alternatives!
This was super helpful. Thank you!
Nathan that was such an awesome video bro ...thank you sooo much.. learnt a lot:)
Thank you for sharing! Great tricks
Really great tips & tricks - thank you!
Track alternatives is something I’ve always wanted to exist, thought it didn’t but now I know that it does and I’m quite pleased!
Absolutely! I agree 100% - one of those things I was like "wait... that does exist?" Haha
BIP has saved me on a few occasions - I've got a choral emulator/sampler that loses certain settings after closing the project; BIP prevents that loss. Huge time saver.
I’ve seen numerous tips for Logic Pro but that metronome tip just got you another subscriber. Good job mate.
Woot!! Thanks!! 😎😎🙏😎
Serious stuff loved that & subscribed 👊🏾❤️
Such a great video ,easy and to the point I really appreciate that
alchemy, es1 and es2 are incredibly underrated, es2 is one of my fav soft synths ever - es2 has this awesome late 90s/2000s interface with cheesy animations and stuff, and it's got so much personality
Man! Thank u so much! I learned some new tricks!
this is one of videos that i watch till the end, your tips are help me so much. you got my subscribe
Thank you so much! Really appreciate that! 🙏🙏
Jumped ship from Pro-tools to Logic two weeks ago and your channel has been the bible. Thank you!
Awesome!!! Glad to hear that! Happy to help
Great tips. Thank you so much!
Absolutely! Happy to help! Thanks 😎😎🙏👍
Broooo this is the best video ever for logic. Youuuu are a god send. Subscribed 💪💪💪
Honestly a great tutorial! Keep up the logic tips pls!
Congrats! Really helpful!
also hit Option R to open a floating inspector region - quick for reversing and gain and fades -super useful
That strip silence shortcut is a game changer!
Thanks for the tips! That fade option... 👍👍👍
Really appreciate your help, thanks! I especially like your demeanor and good intention. I write in a linear/song style and have spent too many hours trying to understand the new an improved Logic Pro X (Ableton- analogue-facsimile), yet after watching and listening to your lectures, I’ve found my sense making skills with Logic Pro X, realigned an improved. Thanks again.
Appreciate the thought into this! Great stuff! Happy to help!
Great video! Looking forward to testing the ones I didn’t know about out!
Thanks! Happy to hear you liked it and yeah give em a go!
I had so much fun watching this video! Thank you! Educational and entertaining :D
Thanks so much!! Love hearing that!
Extremely insightful! thank you
😎😎🙏🙏
Great stuff man, thanks a lot!
Heck yeah!
Hey Nathan, your tips are great! I can honestly say this might be the first "tips" video for Logic I've ever watched as I've also been a user since ... ummm, anyway. The gain tool in the Flex Pitch will actually be wonderfully useful on the project I'm mixing right now. I've been automating a lot of the sibilance as the singer used an inexpensive mix and probably an equally priced pre. This will be way better for controlling his vocal. Great content! All the best!
Awesome!! Super happy to hear you found it valuable. 😎🙏
omg! This was so helpful. THANK YOU! 🙌🏽😭
🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏😎😎🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thanks so much, easy to use, brilliant tips!
Awesome! 🙏🙏
thank you Nathan for taking the time out to open up our knowledge
Absolutely! Love doing it and happy it helped ya!
Wow!! Super helpful video! I like your style. I understood everything. Thanks!!
This video was super informative! Thanks for the tips!
Love it! Thanks Bobby!
Logic has best plugins + sounds I’ve ever seen. 💓
Logic is top notch when it comes to sounds
I completely suck with technology, even the most basic functions are a challenge to me. I always figured id hire an engineer and my job would be to write and record... Well it didn't work like that so I found myself scrolling UA-cam and watching hours of tutorials and "how to" videos. soon I learned for every 1 helpful video there's 10 that are not helpful at all.. im so glad I subscribed to your channel ur a major help through this difficult journey. Almost every question I have, there is an answer in your videos. Your page is my first stop every time I have a question I don't even bother with the UA-cam search results anymore. I appreciate your help and I will defiantly be telling my friends to subscribe as well, thank you
Nice use of Track Alternatives. Thanks! I also didn't know about SMPTE Timestamp lock!
Yo! this was great. It's been a while and I'm super rusty and your vid got me up and runnin'
You’re the man ...thank you so much for this ...
TNice tutorials is just the pick up I needed, thanks man
This is one of the most helpful videos Ive seen
Thanks for sharing these tips. I see producers or people using logic and they have no knowledge of these controls like I did when first starting out. Six years later I’m still learning little things that make a ton of difference to my workflow. Salute you for this! Keep the tutorials coming. It’s time people stop sleeping on LOGIC PRO 🦾🦾🦾
Oh man 100%! Totally agree with you. A contractor can't build a majestic house if he doesn't know how his tools work. Thanks for the encouragement! 😎😎🙌🙌
Mind Blown!! So Helpful!!!
Super helpful video! You can actually edit undo volume in Logic now, but you have to open ‘edit undo history’ and click the ‘mix’ option. There is also a ‘plug in’ option, which will allow you to undo very specific plug-in settings / parameters. Having these both engaged can be a pain if you are trying to edit undo mostly general actions however. Thanks for the video!
Good word Adam! Thanks for that. And also glad the video was helpful for ya!
Thank You Nathan, great, easy to understand and very useful. I have subscribed.
Thank you, great video.
Perfect!! Its really helpful for people like me who just started diving into that kind of field ....thanks!
That's great! Happy to hear that! 🙏
Thank you great content!
OK, I’m glad I found this now (3 years later vs 12) but I’m so mad about discovering strip silence haha. Just this week I spent an hour manually doing this 🤦🏾♂️. So THANK YOU. Awesome video. Lots of helpful tips, good refreshers too if your like me and you’re getting back into it. And yes, Alchemy is a beast! I use it on every production. Cheers!
Thanks This was really helpful
I've been looking for that CTRL+X shortcut for years for slicing samples. I knew I once entered a simple editor where I could adapt my transients... Thnx dude...
AHHH THE FADE TOOL THANK U SO MUCH
Useful video. Many thanks Nathan
😎🙏 thanks! Glad to hear that.
great info, thanks.
Great video, I learned two new things!
Super helpful video! Thank you!
Thanks a bunch and super happy to hear you found it helpful! 🙏
