You and Dr Paul Paul Saladino need to get together for an Oatmeal talk. Lol
I was just thinking that, I follow both and dk what to do now
@@felipezamora5403 Ya, I know. Just eat less meals and eat real food and that is good enough.
Saladino's main point is the anti nutrient phytic acid which you can greatly reduce by soaking them over night in water, best with a splash of vinegar.
@@felipezamora5403bruh😂 have some damn oatmeal, it’s not gonna kill you.

I make a cream of rice. Just blend up leftover refrigerated rice and a bit of Greek yogurt and milk and then add your favorite protein powder, some fruit then boom. I prefer this over oats
Sounds good, I'll have to try it!
Oats are easier. But cool
Google left over rice bacteria: apparently pretty dangerous
Why do some people think it's bad for your gut...
I'm so confused....

These days I add 4 X prunes (coz I'm getting old). I blend scoop of whey with 2 raw eggs and use that as my 'milk'. Drink the rest as I eat.
That keeps me going for hours 👍
What oats do u eat?
Only other person I've ever seen mention prunes lol. I eat prunes sometimes post workout for the sugars and carbs. Very healthy, and the glucose spike post keeps me going.
Comical. I was just wondering about this last weekend, planning for the week. Thanks!
And the mustache... bro, it's fire! Own it.
I give fermented oats to my disabled son to get his carbs he doesn’t like bread, I ferment the GF oats over night in 3tbs of ACV 2 cup oats in warm water, I do a batch to last at least a week, doing this helps digestion he is doing well with this method he eats a big bowl of daily, got this method from Sally Fallon from the book nourishing traditions.

I just finished looking at short where another fitness person claims oatmeal is the worst thing to eat. It just seems that fitness experts, and enthusiasts do not agree.
So as 70 year old Irishman I have made this far on porridge (oatmeal) and potatoes the food of the gods.

YES! Oatmeal is very satiating. When I eat in the morning, I'm not hungry for several hours.

Overnight oats - yeah just put it in the microwave for 30 seconds....

It's more an individual matter here. Oats aren't easily digested by everyone. Also the response to the glycemic load can be different in different people. If you like them and are able to work with them, oats are an extremely good grain to have in your diet. Measuring them by weight or volume is useful though. Many calories can be added by not that much amount in general
I totally agree that it's all about what your own body responds best to.

@@marcusfilly only with water
Idk abt 30 sec let’s say 1 minute
You can also have it spicy, in Indian style. Still i am not fan of most oats.
I love oatmeal but oatmeal is a grain, grains are seeds that have defense chemicals (saponins) to protect itself from insect, fungal, and bacterial pathogens. Phytic acid is also present in grains which robs your body of nutrients and affects your gut biome (extremely important). Oats can also accumulate heavy metals and mold. I would replace my oats with cottage cheese/honey/fruit for the carb source.
The oatmeal debate is a hot one right now. The first question to ask yourself is "Are Oats causing me a problem or am I doing great with them?"
Oats can accumulate heavy metals and mold just like any other food that is poorly grown/farmed. Find high-quality oats if you are concerned. Buy organic, certified glyphosate-free, oats.
If you are concerned about your antinutrients then just soak your oats for 7-15 hours at room temperature before you cook them. Cooking also removes a lot of the phytic acid as well.
I stopped eating oats for a long time and went completely Animal Based after listening to all of this content circulating around. When I went back to oats my blood markers have improved, my digestion is doing great, and I'm NOT deficient in any of the nutrients that are supposedly being robbed out of my diet.
@@marcusfillyThere's some good context here that couldn't make it into the short and this may persuade other people to eat oats; for a high-tier athlete who has dialed in their micronutrients such as yourself, you're clearly good.
I'm not sure how many people watching this video will go through soaking their oats or bother getting organic 🤞🏽how many people are already micronutrient deficient and training? I would personally rather not worry.
In regards to your blood markers which ones were you seeing issues with? I have a blood test coming up and would love to monitor some important markers, thanks.
I'm glad this could help provide more context! The biomarkers that I regularly test are glucose and cholesterol levels, among others.
@@marcusfillyi agree 💯..u should base the food on how u feel after consuming
Dairy comes from cows that accumulate heavy metals in their bodies from the plants they eat. Soaking, germinating, fermenting, or cooking your grains eliminates the issues you mentioned. Plants like oats have fiber that's actually important for your microbiome.
Looks like your gonna vomit when you eat it😂
