    I have actually watched quite a few videos on fuel pump upgrades but I found this super easy to follow along. Definitely going to use this as a reference when I take the plunge one day. Keep up the great work guys 🔥🔥🔥

    Tip to doing anything fuel pump related, 1/4 tank or less. Really sucks to drop something into a tank that’s almost full.

      Very true. Next time we tackle a fuel pump we will definitely do that.

    I had the same issue with the AEM supplied filter. I folded it as you guys did. A common thing is to use a NEW oem filter. That seems to fit perfect as you would expect.

    With this fuel pump can you have your stock fuel injectors

  • @carlosantoniocabreraiii2460
    @carlosantoniocabreraiii2460 5 років тому +1

    Just wondering if changing out your injectors and your fuel pump like you did here. Before starting the tear down could you start the car and pull the fuel pump fuse out and let the car turn off so you don't have any fuel in the lines.

    I did this install and it worked for a 10mins then when I went to start back up it blew a fuel pump fuse. Any idea why it would do that? Also used the dw300 adapter kit and fuel sock.

    • @GrimmSpeed
      @GrimmSpeed  3 роки тому +1

      Hmm, not sure why it would blow a fuse. The typical issue is people forgetting to transfer the oring from the OE pump over in which case the vehicle dies almost immediately. I would first put a new fuse in and see if it happens again, then retrace your install/contact DW to see if they have any experience with the issue. GL!

    I followed this video to install my AEM 340 pump on my 2016 STi and you guys didn’t mention you NEED to re use the plastic spacer from the stock pump on the new one. My cars fuel pressure dropped to 15 psi and had to re install

    • @user-njyzcip

      Came here to call this issue out. I threw away my fuel pump because he said "where done with that one". The reality is I have been chasing lean fuel issues now and after watching other videos I assume it is from the plastic tip that was not transfered to the new pump. In addition, he didn't mention ensuring the O-Rings where set on the male side of the connectors either as they get stuck in the female side of the connectors when you separate them. Going to verify both tomorrow when I get back under the engine.

      @@chris00764 My car was running so bad before I figured it out I thought I had broken something installing all the bolt ons. They really need to make an edit for this video telling people to re use that stock spacer (even if it is kind of obvious)

    Do i need a anti surge kit like in the old stis? Or is the intank fuel system of
    the new stis good enouth? I like to run 500hp on pump gas with 1050cc.

    • @GrimmSpeed

    did you have to wire the aem fuel pump or is it plugg and play?

    • @GrimmSpeed

      As long as you get the right model, the AEM fuel pump connector is plug-and-play. Keep in mind that you do have to tune for this upgrade though.
