Hittade din kanal igår - så lycklig!! Riktigt grymma videor. Tusen tack!!
I love when you do these videos. Thank you. Loved the six pack reply!!!
a lot of very basic but useful information to whomever is just begining. with the running i always heard sprinting was just as affective as steady state cardio when it came to cardio and helps build them muscles up real good too
Just subscribing to Magnus on UA-cam has given me so much value when starting this journey. I could list out the things that feel better about my training and nutrition but the main thing is I feel confident about it. Thank you.
You are awesome! Thank you!
Love these videos! Thank you!
I like to do long distance running and go to the gym and build muscles and I have allways heard that the long distance running will take the "fuel" needed to build muscles in the gym and hence the gym sessions will not be as effective in building muscle mass. Glad to hear this answer, cause it means for me to avoid that I just need to get more "fuel" in the body and I be fine.
This is the only reason I've been thinking of starting with protein shakes. So I do not have to eat so much more to get that extra fuel. But then again my goal isn't to get "big". But I want the time and effort I put in the gym to not be "wasted" due to my love of running. (From a health point of view I know it is not wasted so this might perhaps be my vanity speaking mostly, lol)
Wow....great! Very helpful Magnus
Love this kind of videos!! 👏🏼
Love this! Thank you.
very informative thanks!!

Any tips on how to reduce fatigue and dizziness during workout?
I like this guy.
So grounded
You are a star Mr. Thnx for your tips
Great to hear these answers! I’ve often wondered whether it’s harder to lose fat after 57. :-)
Thank you this video helped me alot today❤😅
What's your thoughts on intermittent fasting or long-term fasting? Can you get Dave Asprey on as a guest (Bulletproof coffee dude)??
Magnus, I would love to know what strength exercises you would recommend for somebody who is learning to Box?
I just joined a gym for the first time in a number of years. I had my first workout session with my trainer on Wednesday of this week. Yesterday wasn’t too bad pain wise, but I’m feeling the effects of the workout more so today than yesterday. Is that normal? What would you suggest a good workout regimen be for a beginner who wants to lose body fat and gain muscle? How many days a week, what types of exercises, free weights vs machine based, stretching/yoga, etc. TY!
Thank You. When I was young it was easy for me to put on the big muscles (the show off muscles). However, I’m a lot older and spent twenty years in and out of a wheelchair from a spine injury. I’ve had the use of my legs again for the last fourteen years but I am losing them again and for the last time. I don’t want to cause anymore injury but I need to build up some muscle to be able to move the part of my body I won’t have control of. What can I do and what should I stay away from besides the obvious things?
At 4:25 I immediately paused the video to make me a cup of coffee 🤣
If you have a client that weights north of 300 LBS, what and how do you start a weight loss regiment? Can you give an example of your method?
Your comment about getting weird questions made me lol. I can just imagine some of the doozies you get from random people over the internet. 😆
Nice video. Thank you.
Very helpful video.
Interesting remark about getting protein in before the workout, because I've heard more often is better to get the proteins in (like in a shake) after the workout, because you need it to rebuild. I prefer that because I have most energy on an empty stomach. I'm vegan but sometimes even 4hrs after a meal isn't enough for me not to feel weird in my stomach or low on energy. It's interesting that my body produces more energy, like heat than most omnivores I know. I even helped a guy stay warm in a tricky and long situation when we were stuck underground once (caving), we hugged and he was shocked how warm I am lol. Anyhow, it seems for me it's true that all the energy is used up on digestion after I eat and I workout better on an empty stomach even hours after waking up. The less I eat the more energy I have if I'm on the go all day as well (like when exploring a cave or hills looking for caves, it can be quite demanding). Well, ok, I haven't been in the gym with you, granted haha.
Correct diet and consistency in training is the answer to everything
What workout would I do on the stack machine for the lower core?
Also what benefits do you have with sweat belts/bands?
Ok so my question is, which builds muscle more effectively, taking in the proteins before or after workout?
To me it makes more sense carbs before workout (if it's late in the day), for energy and then proteins after workout, to provide building blocks to the muscles which got ripped apart and now need to grow.
you pretty much answered your own question. Carb is best before workout for energy and protein is best after workout to rebuild the muscles. Exactly as you said
How about a day in the life of professional trainer? What does a typical day look like and how to make time to keep yourself healthy.
Hey Magnus! thanks for the tips,I gotta tell you somethin' you like captain price from call of duty from modern warefare at 2007.
Eight cups of coffee lol I feel like I'm dying at four 😩😆
That's my question at 6:24 :). Thank you for answering it!
I do a decent amount of walking per week combined with 3-4 strength training workouts per week. I don't calculate my steps but I would say on average 10k+ steps per day.
8 cups a day is nuts
Aloha Magnus, what type of exercise program would you recommend for 65+ year olds? I want to be more fit at my age.
About the last question: What about wanting to lose fat. Is it better to eat before the workout or after?
Can you do a video on abdominals? Specifically if you do this exercise you will get a certain look.. please!
i saw a ted talk about how all body fat is burned through breathing, and yea intake output matters but breathing is actually what breaks down the fat (exhaling carbon from those long chains)
Here is an insight into how I view fitness and food, also some general advice. Hopefully it will help someone who is struggling a bit.
Make it simple do some push-ups, squats etc move your body, lift things and stay away from processed foods or cut down and then slowly give them up. Food and fitness shouldn’t be complicated, you don’t need to count calories or take a note pad to the gym. If you show up and make it apart of your life you will see change in your body and life. Find something that you really enjoy and stick to it, make it a part of your routine.
Also if you struggle at the gym I’d recommend full body instead of a split routine. Focus on compound movements - my full body routine is - squats deadlifts, chest press, rows, pull-ups, lat pull-down, shoulder press, crunches, leg raises. 3 days a week full body will get your stronger faster as long as you eat to fuel your workouts.
Finally I would recommend finding a PT or experienced friend and learn proper form on all exercises. UA-cam is great for advice and tips but listen to your body and do what you enjoy. Have a great day and go do something active! 💥
I’m just wanting to get rid of my little pooch belly and gain some more muscle while still staying small.
I’ve been told to track my food but that scares me.
Any tips?
Is unsaturated fat better than saturated?
Which fats do I need to count?
Can i add more question? Getting confused about my macross.. should i ate carbs ?
Good to know its never too late.
I'm pretty happy about the coffee answer! Good video. Sensible advice. Thanks, from an old guy.

Mr LYGDBACK I am working out.. for.. 5 years started at 12... I am still not sure.. if mixing push ups and bicep curls are good seriously.. Pls tell me if it's a good thing
Haha. The coffee answer was really funny. I drink 3-4 cups per day, myself. I think the really big thing to consider with coffee is that you drink it black. It's not the coffee that's the problem. It's the cream and/or sugar that is often added.
What's the best creatine for women? How much for women and at what time it's better to take it before or after workout?? 👩👍🇮🇹
Hi, here's a little question, I train to be a bit healthier and look leaner, the thing is I honestly don't know much about working out eventhough I have quite an athletic body, and basically the problem is that I usually just train chest, arms and abs but I do it all in the same day, and then the day after and then rest one day. Is that okay or should I asign each muscle group it's own day?
You can start with full body 3 times a week. Learn to progressively overload using different methods and be consistent.
What about combing strength and cardio workouts in one day? For example: upper body and running
Yeah and do you need to adjust your training scedule a few times and how often? Do you need to mix as mutch as possible?
That’s fine but do the running after
I wouldn't run after a chest workout. You'll know why haha
Hi. Does your app offer workouts for post birth? My LO is 2 years old now and I still have a bit of a belly, PiYo just isn’t doing the trick... I know nutrition, but some effective workout routines would be great
I drink 8 cups too!!
All this talk of coffee makes me want to drink coffee! I'm pregnant and limiting myself to 1-2 cups throughout the day and I MISS IT!!!
10:37 Beginners should focus on building muscle first and while doing so learn technique. So they should be doing 8-15 reps, 4-6 sets, 2-4min breaks and doing the exercises in a slower motion
I would love to hear a selection of the most weirded questions, from over the years. Not necessarily within an answer, i need to emphasize that I don't mean the creepy personal questions! But I am sure that there are planty entertaining once 😉
Greets from foggy austria
Great suggestion!

With the belt? I wear It to prevent a hernia. When I squat heave I feel a bulge in my lower left abb. So I can’t push hard. When I wear a belt I don’t feel pain. I have a six pack and strong core. Should I continue to wear a belt?
Due to my career, I can only get 3 gym visits in per week, a TB alternating light and heavy days works great for me
3 times a week to gym with busy career , Very Very good. Don't ask for more. Do the very best with what you got. So proud of you.
Do carbs cause inflammation and does inflammation cause disease?
A fast 10 minute workout can do a lot.
If someone is coming out of serious flu is it OK to start training immediately after 2-3 days of recovery or should they wait for a certain period of time before hitting the gym?
Go to the gym.
Listen to your body. If you feel you need more rest, then rest.
If you go to the gym, go slow and again, listen to your body.
@@valerie4912 Thanks 😊
When you say that walking isnt that high of an intensity workout, you havent seen me walk, as when walking normally I can go up to 10.7 speed on a treadmill that goes kilometers per hour
6:10 ........ Yep, that's me right now!! 😕
Thanks 👍 for another awesome video Magnus!

P.s. how about a video of your current weekly workout
Dream a little bigger, laugh a little harder.
I would disagree as to number one. Carbs are a plentiful (in many if not most circumstances THE most plentiful) and easily accessible form of energy, hence their involvement in metabolism (from an evolutionary perspective), but they also spike insulin twice as high as protein and even higher than that than with respect to fat, and insulin not only insures that calories are stored rather than used, but prevents metabolism of bodyfat for energy (you're not gonna cut if you're eating enough carbs to fuel your body). The only essential use for carbs is for the brain in the form of glucose (which, if not otherwise available, can be converted from fat or protein) and that there are certain necessary nutrients that can be delivered in higher concentrations from carbs than from fat or protein (but it's a very niche thing, and you can do great on just meat for reasons I don't have time to get into, or even just mostly fat as long as you're not trying to build muscle mass). But basically, you can't go wrong by restricting carbs as long as you are making it up with fat and protein. But don't mistake me for a hater - I think this is a great channel, and there's nobody I agree with on every question. Including myself.
And as an update, after watching this video to the end, I could not improve on any other answer to any of the other questions. This guy (I just discovered this channel) nails it. I've been working out consistently for 45 years (probably about 9,000 workouts, I would guess); I rep out at poundages most guys of any age can't do singles at and I've got a six pack like a model (even though I drink too much, sadly but truly). I would put this channel and Athlene-x as the two best workout/nutrition channels I've seen on UA-cam.
I agree.

Ofcourse dry!

A couple of questions I have:
Does drinking ice cold water burn more calories?
Does eating hot sauce or spicy food burn more calories?
What type of coffee do you drink and what do you put in it or add to it?
What is a good idea for a small sweet treat?
I am 53 and i have never been fitter in my life. See the pic. I work out 5 times a week, 3 of them i also run 10 km and i cycle 50 km every other day.
"How much coffee is too much coffee?"
You're asking this question of a Swede.
Seriously?
Do you guys think sleeping 5-6 hours a day may harm muscle gain?
It might, how much sleep we need is individual. If you're feeling like you're not getting enough, you might effect your ability to build optimal levels of muscle mass.
not really true about the belt exactly. You use the belt to brace. without the belt you also have so brace. Its more a support tool for bracing. Its not that you dont use your core anymore.
Low carb diet tested twice as fast as low fat diet but thats probably becouse of malnutrition.
these are random questions, not beginner fitness tips
I feel like some of these questions are out of your scope...

He should be careful about telling people to drink all the coffee they want. There is people with chronic illnesses trying to get in shape that need to stay off caffeine....🤦🏽♀️
dude coffee about
not more than 3 cup please
Weight/strength training causes you to burn more calories at rest.
95% of these questions leave out the important information of "what goal does the person posing the question have in mind?" Yes, if you want to lose weight, then rice is better than pasta, because it's a slow carb which evokes a lower insulin response. As an example. It always depends on the goal.
I feel like nothing actually got answered....
