As a former bodybuilder I totally can relate to every aspect of your journey. Only the top athletes get injured to this degree... we push too far... and dude the depression is so real man. Ekhart Tolle has helped me come to terms with the fleeting nature of things like athletic prowess... one of my favorite quotes from his is "Death is a stripping away of everything that isn't you"

Hi Lazar :) Just on behalf of FromHumanToGod who talked about your last video. I send you all my support for what you are going through and I consider that if you have been a physical model today, with your testimony, you inspire me even more than before by your example of humility. You show us what a man really is. Someone who is able to put his ego aside to allow himself to live because he knows today that he is worth much more than that. A big thought for you from France. I've been in the fitness industry for 20 years now. God bless you for coming on and sharing this information that I hope gets to many people. Young people especially these days have no idea how much very heavy weight training can do to the body. I have backed off sufficiently and went to bodyweight and bands almost exclusively now. You can still look super great with a proper diet and training like this. I'm one of the lucky ones with the aches and pains I have. My friend here wasn't and hasn't been so lucky! Bless you Lazar!
Same for me. Im now in my 4oies and thats what I do now too. Lots of bodyweight training and movements that mimic natural movements you do in your everyday life.

This was a reality check for me. I remember watching you on IG & YT right when I was starting and was always so motivated by your physique and mindset. To think by no fault of your own that your body could just betray you is terrifying. Head up brother & I hope it gets worked out soon 🙏
An just some advice. When you’re going thru things stay away from social media. It does nothing good for you when you’re trying to heal from things. Stop comparing reality to the false image social media offers
Already in the process. Deleted Facebook last January and now I’m filtering out of Instagram (I don’t have Twitter or Snapchat) and I feel so much more relaxed in myself and much more grateful for what I have. Social media brings constant comparison to others and their lives and you quickly forget gratitude. People think that without social media their lives will crumble and they won’t be able to cope but the reality is the complete opposite will happen
I think it’s best to stay on social media. Social media is only allowing “positive vibes”. Anything negative isn’t acceptable because no one wants to get flames for i
At the end of the day Lazar, it's interviews like this that are going to make people respect you - not the 100% physique from the past - keep it up man, as a long time fan its great to hear from you again!
Im glad as i approach my 30s my mindset is changing, now im looking at longevity and mobility rather than just busting ass every session going 100%. Got a wife and kid now and the reality is setting in that I can never train as much as i used to, took up yoga and now i just lift 3x a week and mix some cardio in between. Never been happier if im honest.
i dont know. we are still live in wild world where are instincts rules. if your wife meet better ''alpha'' she will left you and that's it.In my opinion sacrifice for marrige or even love is very stupid and irresponsible. anyway good luck

This single video has been more inspirational. Ironically, I'd rather hear Lazar's journey to self- development regardless of how he looks. That is more important than any muscle size.
I’m not a lifter. Other than that we share a similar path. I was hit by a car at 21, had a failed back surgery, and have had very few days without pain over the last 28 years. It changes who you are, it alters your identity, it tests your character. I applaud you speaking out - but please know that you are at 100% - of what you are TODAY. You can’t measure yourself against who you were before you injured yourself/experienced the pain. Forget the 50% or the 80% of who you were at your peak. You are 100% of who you are today. Tomorrow you will be 100% of who you are tomorrow. It’s fluid, it changes daily and sometimes hourly, but it sounds like you’ve come out the other side and once you realize that you are not defined by the person you once were, you’re on the right path. Keep that shit up 😊
I never comment on UA-cam, but for this one I had to, because this man is the OG of fitness aesthetics, the guy who started the whole movement and the guy who inspired a whole generation, I’ve been a fan of you since the very old 2012 days and till this day nobody could outwork or reach your level, please know that we’re all here for you and we want you to stay strong and not give up.
I've been a serious lifter since 2007 when I was 21. I'm 35 now. I was super strong in my 20s all the way up to my early 30s. Did a few BB shows and was strong enough to enter powerlifting competitions but never did. Now I'm starting to experience a lot of tendon pain and even had a chest strain yesterday from a heavy bench press which will keep away from benching for a few weeks. I know that I'm not going to be able to lift heavy for that much longer. But one thing i realize is that I don't need to stop going to the gym, I don't need to stop working out. I enjoy running, I enjoy push ups, pullups....simple exercises that are highly effective. Once I'm at that point where I won't be able to lift heavy anymore, my focus will go solely to running and simple calisthenics. I enjoy lifting but I enjoy being fit more than lifting. Nowadays if you ask me, would I wanna be able to bench 500lbs or squat 1000lbs or run a marathon, I'd much prefer to be able to run a marathon.
You need to learn one thing: "Stop proving people wrong, you cant satisfy everyone", you are still the best body in fitness industry. Be happy with what you achieved in life, and enjoy the benefits of it. Cheers

As someone with tendonitis (which is what he has) I can tell you that unfortunately, it's for life. The best-case scenario is three times a week of pull-ups, push-ups, and walking. And taking a week off each month. He has to find balance and mental happiness. Figure out an alternative career path. He has to stop believing happiness is having a perfect body. Time to focus on his recovery and mental health. Listen to his mind, his body, and survive depression. His mental health should come first.

Not trying to hate on him, just want people to know these are all side effects of excessive steroids or Performance enhancement drugs. And I’m sorry, but i just find this whole interview attempt pathetic. Trying to give an excuse on why he can’t push to his best and not telling the real reason why when its due to drugs. If the pain has ntg to do with roids and it’s really an understandable type of illness, why can’t he tell everybody about this “pain” when he first have them? And why does this interview not address where does this pain originated from? It’s really sad to see how childish this attempt is trying to gain ppl’s sympathy. That is why I find this whole interview repulsive, as it’s totally portraying the wrong msg that overtraining can lead to this. Come on, overtraining doesn’t make u have pain constantly even when u are resting n not training. Nobody at this age gets tendinitis and arthritis all over the whole body, even an elderly person doesn’t experience until that bad. It’s only because of the roids that make the muscle develop too fast and big when the tendons doesn’t match up to it that’s why the tendons can’t take it anymore. I really would have respect him a lot more if he had told the truth and advising ppl not to go on roids, rather than to cover up the truth and protecting his reputation by gaining ppl’s sympathy. I just hope those who are new to bodybuilding are aware now. No intention of hating, just want u guys to be safe and healthy! There is no point of drugs to get a body like that when your health is in jeopardy, and certainly no satisfaction knowing u achieve through the use of all these. Your body has far more potential than what u give credit for, just have to be patient and keep on your diet. Stay safe everybody!

Keep that shit up 😊
This is incredible, and very inspiring. I hope you get some peace. Thank you for the comment

What if you could run a marathon with big biceps

As someone with tendonitis (which is what he has) I can tell you that unfortunately, it's for life. The best-case scenario is three times a week of pull-ups, push-ups, and walking. And taking a week off each month. He has to find balance and mental happiness. Figure out an alternative career path. He has to stop believing happiness is having a perfect body. Time to focus on his recovery and mental health. Listen to his mind, his body, and survive depression. His mental health should come first.

Great lesson..As a gym lover, it is an eye-opening interview. Just don't push too hard! Respect to Lazar!
