Thank you for explaining it quickly and near the start of your tutorial. Just came from a video that I had to stop because 5 minutes in and they still were babbling on about everything but the topic of the video. 👍
Thank you sir for taking your time, explanation of what to click on and going at a speed that allows a new Cura user, like me, to understand. Have watched other videos and since they had done it alot, were moving the mouse so fast I could not keep up. Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words. I run into that a lot when trying to follow videos! I made it my goal not to do that!!! Thanks for watching and keep printing!!!
I like the idea of Blocking supports, and thank you for sharing. As I use another Slicer software and find it realy quick and easy to change the support angle or the support spacing, Support angle is whare the software works out the overhang and you can increase or decreas it Can this be done in Curu to reduce supports, just to say i saved nearly 2 hours today on a model by spending around 20 seconds of time in changing such settings Anyway i find supports is such a pain in the but to clean up.
It can! I did a video about support settings a few weeks ago using Cura's support settings to change the overhang angle, pattern, density and a few others settings to make supports more manageable. ua-cam.com/video/FfiQLWprcIU/v-deo.html
After watching your Per Model Settings video, I used these for the first time yesterday and they are incredibly powerful. They are tedious to work with though and don't scale as expected by grabbing the handles, at least on V5.3. Still worth the time however. Other than setting the Z to 0, Is there a way to drop the blocker to the buildplate with a keystroke? Thanks!
I don't believe you can have them drop directly on the plate since you have to click on the model. But what you could do, is make an stl of a square, or cylinder for example. Any shape you choose will work. Bring that into Cura like any other model. It will drop to the bed plate. Then click on that model, use the per model settings to make the new shape "Don't Support Overlaps" and move it into place where you want it. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
@@pushingplastic7445 Great suggestion. I made the imported cube, Print as support. Now, I can pick the cube up or resize it and it drops down to the buildplate. Awesome! Better yet, I can have two types of support blockers in one model. Very nice indeed. Thanks!
Assuming you are using Prusa Slicer. The video is for those using Cura. Prusa Slicer is a nice piece of software, but the goal is to demonstrate to users of Cura what options are available to them.
Just curious.. would it not be better to use tree supports than the Normal setting in these examples.?? I have noticed that in many cases the tree support is a great saving in time and filament.
6 months ago I would've said yes. BUt while making that video I came across case where the tree supports really increased my print time. In most cases, tree supports do reduce time and are easier to remove.
Finding the right temperature & retraction will help eliminate stringing. I have 2 videos for making temperature towers, I recommend auto towers and I also have a video for retraction. Do the temperature first, then retraction. Thanks for watching!
No, no Facebook page. If I see a question in one of the groups that can be answered with one of the videos I just post a link. Thanks so much for the kind words and thanks for watching

I had no idea that this function existed! 👏👏👏 Thank you very much 😉😉

@@baxrok2. Awesome! Glad it worked out and thanks for letting me know the results! Keep on watching!!!
PrusaSlicer has paint on supports. I would think that would eliminate the need for support blockers?

exclent how you explain. thanks. proposal: use bigger fonts in your computer so they could be seen on notebooks. Excuseme. and thanks from Argentina
Good tip on the font size! Thanks for that, and thanks for watching!
I am having a hard time stringing, I hope you have a solution for Cura. Thanks for your videos.

I’m doing a lot of chess pieces, this is golden advice.
@@TheKirk48 that sounds like an awesome project, fun to print & functional!
Do you have a FB page? If so I’ll post some photos.
