Someone reported a lost, dirty cat looking for help outside, wearing a purple collar. I couldn’t find him. So, he found me.
Franklin crossed several busy streets to get to us. I can’t imagine what his journey was like, but it’s clear he didn’t get enough food or water. No microchip, not reported lost, he had never been to the vet. Thanks to you, Franklin got the medical care, love and safety that every cat deserves. We found him a forever home that promised to love and spoil him for the rest of his days.

If you’re a cat looking to get off the streets this is the man you want to find.
This shows you what a clever cat Franklin is, to go looking for the right person.
What if I’m a boy looking for his Dad? This man is perfect for me 😍
I wonder what the story was on the other cats when Franklin was taken away? The grey & white tabby looks a lot like our adopted stray cat.
@@jasonvargas7564 He does appear to be an excellent mentor type. 🙂
Or Eldad (Hope for Paws) on the other side of the country (Los Angeles). My favorite rescuers...
You can see how grateful he is to be back indoors. Thanks for finding him a new home, Franklin deserves to be spoiled ❤️
We all do!
You’re so right. Franklin is the quintessential indoor cat that got booted out of his home to fend for himself on the streets for whatever inhumane reason, and, being the indoor cat that he is, is not skilled at surviving on the streets for very long.
It was a miracle this kind gentleman found and rescued him just at the exact right time. Franklin is so sweet💙.
Who could abandon such a sweet boy! Franklin kicking that blanket is hilarious!
I don’t have a lot of money right now, but I hope this helps in some way 💕🌺
It's the thought that counts !
Poor baby. I can't imagine how he felt when he got abandoned or lost. But, he's got his forever home now. Be happy and safe, Franklin.
My cat died unexpectedly a month ago. I miss her so much, videos like this make me miss her more but bring comfort to me at the same time. She was an older rescue, and at least she got three very good (I hope!), spoiled years with me and she was so loved.
Verrà il momento in cui sarai pronta ad adottare un'altro gatto.
I am sorry for your loss. My cat went missing whilst I was is Hospital. It's taken me years to get over that cat. I'll go to the shelter soon. The house feels so empty and I don't have cat fur over all my stuff. I kinda miss that
Good on ya for adopting an older cat! I'm sure she knew how much you loved her. ❤
@@jamescameron1861 Please be sure to microchip your new kitty, when you do adopt again. The recovery rate is very high for lost pets, around 95%. Because nowadays, most rescue groups, even small ones, and all vets, have universal chip readers. Best wishes when you are ready to bring home someone new!
You should get another cat immediately. There's certainly no shortage of cats needing homes.
For some reason this one hit me hard. Even when he was dirty and starving he still wanted you to pet him.
my favorite part of cat rescues is when they're all dirty and you get to see them all cleaned up and the beauty of their coat
Animals suffer from PTSD same as we do. Flatbush Cats heals a lot of cats! Thanks for what you do.
Our former stray cat has never gotten over his food anxiety. He goes nuts in the AM at feeding time, cleans the bowl so well you almost don't have to wash it, then goes around and mops up any morsels left by his siblings. He's also very good about drinking from his fountain. He's never shown any interest in going back outside even though he was outside for at least 6 months before we took him in and seemed perfectly content in the woodshed. Where he came from we have no idea. He's an indoor kitty for more than 3 years now.
I've had a very similar experience with a stray kitten I adopted. He was approx 2 or 3 mos when I rescued him. But he has serious food insecurity. He goes crazy at feeding time and even knows the movements I make or the sound of the food, bags or cans. He eats quickly and then finishes any food his big brother has left. He has no interest is going outside. I have a safe spot that I let his big brother go out and roam at least once a day, supervised. But my little rescue kitty will sit in the window and watch. I'm glad I was able to get him safely inside and I'll continue to be patient and loving to him.
@@minnesotacoco5297 This sounds like a situation very similar to our former stray. It's not a problem for us. He gets his food and is doing just fine. He loves to be warm and indoors. All of our cats are indoor kitties but we have two ferals that come around which we also feed.
You are kind & caring & you will be rewarded!
I rescued a kitten that acts very similar towards the outdoors
He stares outside, but when I open the door to go outside, his brothers peeks around the corner and looks out there curiously, while he bolts away and hides in his bed, its always such a pain to take him to a vet or to my parents house, he hates the outside, even if its nice and cool, or nice and warm
He found his home, and he knows it, the outside is for suckers LOL
@@bornonthebattlefront4883 This sounds very much like our cats, even the former outdoor stray. Open the door and they run away. They've shown no interest in going outside.
We adopted our cat from a rescue nonprofit. It took her close to a year to stop having food insecurity with us. She required a lot of medical interventions the first few months we had her and has permanent health problems from what she had to survive. My heart breaks for cats like her and Franklin who did nothing wrong but were still put in such a traumatic and dangerous situations.
Our stray cat has never gotten over his food anxiety. He goes nuts every meal time and cleans his bowl. 3+ years with no change.
@@1940limited I had a cat like that. He was a stray and decided my mom was his person. If we brought any boxes inside or moved furniture around he would get anxious all over again and be practically glued to my mom's side. We had him for almost a decade, the sweet boy.
@@1940limited 11 years and counting, lol. We bought one of those mechanized feeders so he could have small portions throughout the day when we worked (and in the early morning so he wouldn't wake us up) and that first night, we could hear him pushing his paw up the tube to bat at the little trapdoor inside: "bat, bat, bat, bat, bat, bat, bat, bat..." and then the rattling sound of a single piece of kibble falling through, to be loudly devoured. Then immediately all over again, "bat, bat, bat, bat..." We went though that about three times and realized he could just do that all night.

I have my cat rescued since she was a 4 month old kitten. Food insecurity never left her.
How can someone abandon something so adorable?
I'm so glad he got rescued.
Mettrop he was not abandoned he was lost. There's a difference between abandoned and lost. Do you know the difference? Because he never said abandoned he said lost he said several times
We have cats, dogs, foxes, etc all being misplaced when people let off fireworks in cities
@@daniellewoolley8607 I didn't notice he said it... You don't have to be this condescending, I know the difference. Let's just be glad the cat got a new lovely home.
@@mettrop I think somebody pissed in their Cheerios this morning 🤷🏻♀️
Because they think of animals as "Things" and not "Beings.". Please consider this change to your kind and loving language. It helps more than you know to verbally not refer to animals as 'it" as you would refer to a chair or an object that is not alive. 😎👍
Last year, I slowly coaxed a stray to trust me. It seemed like she was previously an indoor cat as she was friendly and spayed (with no ear tip). For months she would eat every last bit of food she was given, even if I could tell she wasn’t that hungry. I was so proud of her when she started leaving food behind when she was full, trusting that there would be more later!
What a trill he has!
I agree with that.
Thank you for giving Franklin a good home! I will never understand how anyone could abandon their pets, especially one that's so obviously affectionate.
We love our cats...they are our anxiety healers.
Yes!
Franklin's "feed me" meow had a purr in it. Thank you so much for sharing this, you guys always make me feel better about the world!❤
Franklin is a beautiful loving cat. Thanks you for saving him
Thanks!
I'm the one with food insecurity from childhood, I'm now 59. My 12 outdoor feral kitties and 4 indoor rescue kitties get food on time, every time overy own meals.😺😺😺😺. 😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺
Aww- very kind
@@mindyshively4947 😽
What a charming fellow. He definitely deserved a good home.
Franklin, new member of the clean plate club. Thanks for helping him find his new people!
Thank you! Thank you for finding me! I was so scared being out on the streets. I was hungry and so cold. I didn't understand why I suddenly didn't have a warm home, a full belly or safe place to sleep. You were so amazing. I didn't trust you at first. My heart was bruised and broken. I'm so happy today in my new home. I love you, Flatbush Cats! ❤️, Franklin.
It's cold and rainy here in my neck of the Northern CA. woods but nothing like the brutal weather these east coast cats are coping with every year, and especially right now with the insane snowstorms that have claimed dozens of human lives. So glad Franklin was one of the lucky ones and his days of want and suffering are a thing of the past.
Thank you for saving that precious kitty!
Of all the cats that have graced my homes, I've never once considered abandoning them. They are so sweet and deserving of love and I'm so happy Franklin got his second chance to have an amazing life
Nice cat. He was so eager to be taken in. It gave me a twinge to see that while he was going into the carrier on the street the cats behind him and to his left were curious enough to try to join in the rescue -- and one, the tuxedo looks like an almost-friendly.
Yeah I wondered what the deal was with those others... They seem just as friendly, they just didn't have collars.
Hopefully they'll go back for them with more carriers.
Who knows but sometimes no matter how friendly a cat might be, they still prefer living outdoors or maybe they are indoor cats just hanging outside for a bit till they go back to their owners. Or maybe they need a home who knows
There are so many I wish we could save them all
I think those are from their backyard feral colony. They feed them and provide shelters. I think the other cats were interested in the tin of food he put in the carrier, not in getting in the carrier themselves.
4:11 the little smile on its face is so heartwarming 😭 you can really see how grateful it is to have found a better situation. Thank you to everyone at Flatbush and its contributers for saving so many little lives! 💙
When our abandoned B&W Longhair first came to us, she had food insecurity AND was pregnant. It was a bit disturbing how desperate for food she was at each meal, almost manic 😢
Kind cat, kind owner, happy house !
What a lovely cat, how can anyone leave their pet behind. He is clearly enjoying the indoor life, glad he found a forever home ❤
Especially one not accustomed to living outdoors.
@@klnsradieschen getting a pet is a lifelong commitment, at least find a new home for them before moving ? If people really care they dont leave their pet behind to fend for themselves.
He never once said abandon he said lost. Do you know the difference between abandoned and lost? There's a big difference between them
@@daniellewoolley8607 Nobody knows what had happened. I think, they wanted to be a happy story for the holidays,
He said the cat was lost. He never mentioned being abandoned he said the cat was lost. Go an rewatch the video. You need to clean the wax out of your ears
What a cute baby. Thank you for rescuing him and for the woman who gave him a new home and love.
I would cross the Atlantic and settle in Brooklyn so I can adopt one of these adorable, darling stray or feral cats.
Welcome to the V.I.P. life Franklin!!!
It's so awesome to see him playing at the end, and being loved.
Thank you for looking after all the cats 😻😻😻😻😻😻
Glad Franklin's back indoors again. What a lovely boy.
Oh what a beautiful soul!
hes baby... making biscuits when hes being pet
This was beautiful and heart-warming💗
Please, please submit your pet in a shelter if you can't take care of them anymore. Do not 'leave' them on the road🙏
🐱 awww, Franklin has so much love that he deserved ❤ I’m so glad 😃 🥹
This is why I SUPPORT your WORK...GOD BLESS..thank you.

This rescue makes me SOOOO happy. Thank you for saving Franklin and so many others. You guys are Angels.
"Angels" exactly!
Aww, Franklin. 🥰 Thank you for saving him.
I am so happy for FRANKLIN after a long time cruising the streets to be indoors again in a loving home where he DESERVES TO BE !! Sweet boy.
My cat used to feel comforted by seeing her food cupboard full of tinned cat food. When it started to look low she would remind me it was time to buy a flat of fancy feast. She supervised putting the new tins away in her cupboard. That seemed to address her food “insecurity”.
That is a creative and kind way to help your baby🙏💖
It makes me so sad to see how afraid he is to not have food, I can’t imagine how scary it is for a cat that grew up inside to suddenly have to fend for themselves :-( thank you for giving this sweet boy a second chance, and I hope you all have a wonderful new year!!
The look of pure bliss on his face when his new mum was loving on him brought a tear to my eye and a smile to my lips.
What a great story--and my rescued feral cat sat with me and watched the whole video, too! Thank you for all you do! ♥
One of my 6month olds got a bit concerned about the stressed kitty sounds. We lost our Oskar in August, he was the one I had to turn off the volume any time a kitty sounded stressed. Oskar would jump up on my lap ready to defend even an unknown kitty, he'd even start grabbing my hand. Any time I'd have to take another cat to the vet, the first step was to lock Oskar in the bathroom. He actually put holes in me whenever I omitted that crucial step, in his attempt to 'save' the other cat. RIP Oskar, defender of kitties and oh so very adorable 'roadkill' poses.
Franklin was so happy to get in the carrier. To him carrier = "going inside".
Very awesome that he found a new home.🐈🐈🐈🐈😊
Franklin is such a sweetie. Thank you for caring for them!! All they need is a little love and care ❤
I shed tears of happiness, seeing Franklin being happy and feeling safe again. Thankyou for giving him a home, thankyou for doing what you did for him. God bless you.
I’m glad he found his people. Such a sweet boy deserve the VIP life! Good work Flatbush Cats!
The face of contentment...at the end you can almost see him smile...!
I can totally understand food insecurity, I think one of my own cats had it. We adopted her from the streets when I was a kid, she went from underweight (and pregnant btw) to overweight in just a few years. She lived a good life despite us being way more clueless about cats than we'd like to admit.
We used to have a tiny female, she was a Calipso colored one. But she would without exception, always leave a bit of Kibbles in the Bowl. Like the second she could see actual bowl, she would pause and sometimes stop eating al together. We got her from a state of being feral, she never completely turned indoor Kitty. Always chasing mice, and saving kibbles for next year Rofl. Her name was Gertrude :)
oh the way he meowed when he was waiting for food, reminds me so much of my own kitty ❤ I’m so glad franklin found a forever home
Thank you. Great video. You're doing God's work - helping the lost and cleaning up the neighborhoods in the process.
Sweet little soul
I’m glad this kitty found a home that loves him :D
He's such a beautiful sweet boy! I swear, I fall in love with each new cat I see, lol! I wish I could take care of them all!
What a sweet boy
Awww, I'm so happy you rescued Franklin and found him a forever home 🙏🏿❤️😻
Bless you!
Such a sweet and handsome boy. Thank you for finding him a loving home!
You are truly the cat whisperer! Frankln had a lucky star looking over him that he found you! What a wonderful cat.
Hi guys, very interesting what you mentioned about food insecurity. I adopted Francis almost 2 years now and still licks his bowl as if it was his last supper! Great job you do. Thanks.
Cats are awesome, and I don't know why people will just abandon them like this. It's cruel.
Agreed....
Adore these videos..I seem to be the only one in my neighborhood who feeds strays or does TRN..but I’m glad to do it
We have two strays that come around our house plus 5 indoor cats. The strays are totally wild an unapproachable, but will eat the food we put out as long as we're not around. We can watch them through the window. They seem to come around at night, too. By morning the food bowl is always empty.
Excellent 👌❤️❤️🐾I I'd the same for many years. Met many people through this work.🙏🙏

your videos always make my day!!!! ❤️✌️😻😘❤️😻😊👌 it is so beautiful to see happy ends!!! Franklyn would be very few time in life out there if u do not rescue him😢, it is so devastating to see how hard is the street life for them, specially and abandoned or lost cat who lived indoors!
you educate people! thanks for all your amazing effort but over all for NEVER GIVE UP!!!!! You guys are truly cat lovers! my respect!!! WE ALL LOVE YOU!!!!!! And big thanks also to thir new family, they were the cherry 🍒 on top❤️🎂🔝 Franklin looks beautiful and happy now🎊🎉🎈🥰🤩😍😺😺😺😻😻😻😻😻😻
I love Flatbush Cats videos. I wish he could make more of them. One of my favorites is Duke.
I got three kittens and an elderly cat that I personally know for sure have never missed a meal in their life, and they still act like that every time it's meal time.
I am in love with Franklin, so happy a good samaritan told you about him and Franklin found you. My heart broke watching him lick the bowl clean and Meowing waiting to be fed, I am so happy Franklin now has the best home ever!!! God bless you all. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🐱
Wow what a loving beautiful nature he has. I would take him in a heartbeat if I wasn't in Australia.
I love his yelling! Thank you so much for rescuing this boy. I bet he sensed a savior from all those streets away.
Thank you for all your hard work that you do for these innocent creatures. You are a true angel. ❤
Greetings from Türkiye. Thank you :)
My late kitty was a cat coloney rescue from New York. They were TNRing the colony, but she was found already spayed. Somebody dumped her. Thank you for rescuing Franklin. (and bad cess to whoever dumped him out there!)
His smile being pet at the end at his forever home is everything 🫶

The look on his face at 4:28 says it all: he's one happy kitty.
Looks like my Oscar. I got him 10 years ago and turned out to be the best friend I ever had by far. Saved my life from what would have been intolerable depression. I love cats now.
Franklin has so much love to give. I'm so glad he has a loving home now.
The background song ("I belong to you" ) is perfect for this video
Food insecurity is/was common in Holocaust survivors, too. Thanks for helping this cat!
Another beautiful video about a beautiful outcome... now we all need to do our best to create more beautiful outcomes. Thank you Flatbush Cats!

I love his meow, although he's a handsome cat all round
He looks so much like our Timmy, down to the size, you can see Franklin is a big lad just from the size of his paws. Timmy is 1 year old tomorrow, so god know how big he'll be in 6 months time.
Poor Franklin was so disoriented. He looks soooo happy now. He needed you, and you were there. God bless you.
Poor baby Franklin. He is a handsome boy.
He looks like my beloved Tommy. 🥰😻💕
oh my gosh, Franklin is such a cutie 😻! Sweety, I am so sorry, you had to go through this - but you are definitely lucky to have met this man and now are in a loving home! I am so happy for you 😻😻😻
A lovely happy ending, I wonder how old he is. 😽
So happy for Franklin! Awesome job
I am so sad for Franklin to be put in that position and I'm sad for his previous owners that for whatever reason could no longer care for him. Thank you for filling the gap and giving Franklin a new home ❤️
I look at my babies and can't imagine leaving them out in the cold and walking away!!! Just so cruel......even thinking about our Creamsicle strays we've fed for 4 years, them showing up at the porch for food and no one opening the door 😢.
This was a lovely story with a happy ending, with the most perfect song playing...
Thank you Flatbush Cats 🐈.
Your videos and your work are wonderful! Even the names you choose for the cats seem to perfectly fit with their character. I really adore people like you.
