Many have asked how we're doing with the pandemic and spay/neuter clinics closed for health and safety reasons - most activity and travel is restricted but we are doing OK overall. There will be a lot of catchup work to do once the quarantine is lifted, and of course the cats keep on coming. You can learn more about our current rescue projects on Instagram: instagram.com/flatbushcats/ - thanks for your support everyone!
We feed about 15 cats. My big concern is what happens when so many owners perish due to the virus. I imagine a lot of animals will suffer along side us.
Whenever I'm feeling that there's just too much hate in the world and how are we going to get through this as a country, I come to your channel and I'm made aware of the kindness that still existed in people, thank you for that.
First, sorry for my bad english. Great comment, by why "still"? World was not better in the past, it was by far worst! Famine, wars, violence, ignorance, misery was so much in the past, and animals was treat very bad too. Today is not perfect but we lived in the best world ever.
There’s truly no dialogue I love to hear from this channel than, “Now, he/she is going to his/her furever home… He/She even got a big brother/sister!” Literally, best feeling ever. You can’t change the world by saving one cat, but you can change that one cat’s world by saving it...
I rescued a feral colony that was originally 10, made up of two 3-week old babies, four 4-month-olds, and 4 adults. It was my plan to trap, neuter, release, but did not realize that finding available appointments with the local shelter for 10 cats took 7 weeks, and this was in the worst conditions of winter in 2017/2018. Three got altered right away, and they were put back into their original environment. I found a home for one of the babies, kept the other baby as mine, and it was my plan to return the others. However, winter conditions were too risky to put the 4-month-olds out in the cold, so I made a make-shift shelter in my home. Long story short, they just ended up hanging around my home, and I still take care of them. The mama of all of them was full-on feral and hated humans, and the 4-month olds were skittish and leary of humans. Over the years, the 4-month olds domesticated and are friendly and affectionate with me and my dogs. Mama feral is coming around, slowly. I can pet her without her freaking out, but she definitely glares at me for it. I named her Cougar. :) In my opinion, the key to taming them was keeping the baby, whom I named Larry. They saw his playfulness, his affection and purring, and that he was safe with me picking him up, playing with him, loving on him, etc.
Flatbrush's owner: ok now Georgio you go through the normal cat door and I put the food from the top latch Georgio: OOh! food! wait you putting it in that hole I go that way! Flatbrush's owner: ok that works *closes both doors after Georgio gets in*
Me and my cat love to watch your videos! I think she recognises your voice at this point bc every time I put a video on she comes to watch. Before she was only interested in bird videos but for some reason she likes these too! Love from Finland from us. ❤
Awesome success story-and hooray for the saviors who have to make difficult resource-cost (and practicality) decisions, many of which must be very tough. Glad it broke in Giorgio’s favor here
I so admire the continuous hard work you put into flatbrush, but also how these videos toll a lie between being cute AF but informative about the resource issues and the impact fostering can have 💓 from one fosterer to another keep up the good work - we got this 💪
We've adopted 2 bonded pairs and just want to underline the difference it makes for socialization and contentment. They cuddle, play, and play-fight at an energy level we could never hope to meet. We got our cats from rescuers like you and we are grateful for all you've done and will do for these beautiful animals. Thanks to you and your other volunteers for continuing your work despite these sour times.
Love all of your videos! I do my part in Dallas. It’s so true about the window of age. Three of my feral’s that I have been feeding every single night, since they were about 3 months old. (They’ve been trapped & fixed) All of a sudden one of them decided he wants to be my friend. The big step was can I pick him up. Woo hoo! I was able to pick him up and love on him. This is weeks of him rubbing up against me. Now to get him adopted is the hard part. Thank you for all that you do to save these sweet cats/kittens! ❣️ The kitten growling while playing was hilarious!
Struggling with COVID-19 and a positive test. I'm 54 and have no one but my cats. They've been great but it's still terrifying. I have severe hypertension. Your Videos are the best on UA-cam and I thank you for taking my mind off my fever and sore throat. Me and my cats, Atticus, Thirteen and Bella Roma thank you!!!!!
Wishing you every good thing in your return to health, from me and my ex-barn cat Polly. We're in lockdown here in NE Scotland. Keep resting! I know what you mean by having no one but your feline friends!
How are you feeling now did you recover and also how are your cats because they can also get covid 19 I hope you were able to battle covid 19 as quick and painless as possible
People like you help me keep my faith in the human race. You're all so beautiful and I'm grateful and humbled for what you do and give of yourselves everyday. Much love and many blessings to you all. Be safe, healthy and happy.🙏💖😽🐈🌺✌🍀
I found my current kitty outside, he was 3 and a half months, not socialized and extremely scared. Thankfully there was no aggression just extreme fear. Within less than 24hrs of trapping him, he warmed up to us and was so sweet. The vet said she was very surprised how kind he was for a feral cat. There were other kitties that unfortunately I wasn’t able to catch after trying for weeks. My current cat (Elijah) was the only one left. I agree though, if I want to continue helping cats I can’t keep them all. Thank you for the tips!
He reminds me of one of my cats. His name is flute because his meow is quite. We rescued him from my grandma's neighborhood when she passed away cause no one would be able to feed him. He also had a Buddy named Bob, who also has a new home
just donated to you guys on Venmo. (@flatbushcats) (if anyone else wants to donate!) and I know it's not a lot but I hope it can help in any way. I actually have 3 cats. 2 we adopted from a shelter called Camp Papillon here in PA. Today I heard the tragic news that their cat shelter burned down in a fire and all the kittens and cats died (10). My heart is broken. And seeing this actually brightened up my day knowing all these little guys are getting helped whether they're TNR or find loving homes. So thank you for all you guys do.
I always enjoy your videos. I'm going to watch them all, like them all and comment, to help your ratings. You're doing a wonderful thing. The kitties need your kindness!
I care and manage a colony of 50 strong I only have 6 more TNR kitties to go!!! None are feral most are feeder friendly or very social... I also vet any sick or injured... I love what your doing!!
I so admire what you do! There is a beautiful orange tabby that was dumped at a colony where we go to New Orleans once a month. You can tell he was an indoor kitty and he's not doing well outside. We went today and I tried to get up in a carrier twice and blew it. I feel awful because now it will be another month. All I can is keep trying!
So glad you were able to rescue Sal and Sonny’s brother! Giorgio is a very handsome boy and and I love that he got his own forever family and a fur-brother to boot. Stay safe and keep caring.
I'm stuck in my apartment with a mild case of COVID-19. Your videos are so relaxing. I need a background voice or two to help me be able to sleep away the middle of the day, so I can get better, and your voice, the soft music, and the topic of cute little beasties getting their pass into the luxury life are a great prescription for making it through the day.
So many happy moments in this video--the first kitties' rescue, then Giorgio, then new volunteers busy helping out, then Peanut finds a friend in Giorgio. Thanks, Flatbush Cats!
Man as a caretaker for cats for more than 30 years i really, really love your channel and the passion you have. this combined with your voice and the lofi music makes every video so very relaxing and special. please stay safe in the us and keep up the much needed and so important work! greetings from germany!

Ohhhh Georgio is such a sweetheart. A perfect cat for a perfect home .... this is so amazing how quick he "volunteeres" to get into the cage .... Ask my cat , Vito ...... he wouldnt do this that easily . Vet day is always a very challenging day for both of us !!!
I have a kitten that looks similar to Giorgio. He was also a rescue kitten, and we adopted him from the ASPCA (this is our UA-cam channel for him). This video made me cry a little bit and I went to pick up our Paws and cuddled him😭💗Thank you so much for everything you guys do, you make it possible for people like me to give a home to these kitties! 💖

Beautiful videos my friend. You deserve the world.
Flatbush Cats :: Glad you are doing well! Thank you for sharing!!

Thank you for the efforts you give to all these cats. I donate every chance I have. Keep up your work and stay strong.
Thank you for all your work

That guy kissing the kitten after he saves him is so pure. I absolutely love this channel and everything that you guys do!!
There is nothing sexier than men who love cats!
hahah I thought the same! Nothing sexier than a buff manly guy saving and gently caring for kittens.
Ya girlfriend, i thought that was so beatiful also!! Very sweet😀
He looks like Clancy Brown to me!
@@Emelefpi I thought the same!
Uh oh, here comes my daily dose of Catcaine
@Chad Mower bro, pass me the 'thing'. Be cool man, i dont want anyone snooping.
I do at least one kitten worth of catcaine everyday.
@@lyleslaton3086 one whole kitten? Pathetic, I do 2! /s
I loved how Giorgio unleashed the beast within while holding onto that toy.
Loved that too!
That was some *fearsome* growl. I don’t know about you, but I was clearly intimidated by the cute little kitten lol
He was NOT gonna give that up!
My cat snatches feather toys, pins them down, and licks them into submission. She isn't very vocal about it, though.
His feral coming out !
Did I get through this without crying?
No, no I did not.
Keep up the great work man!
Sonicfan1661, practically bawling here. I love how Giorgio has grown up. He’s a very lucky boy with his own family and a furry brother to boot!
You are far from alone in that So touching
Of course not...never ....
No judgments here!
There was absolutely no need to put one blank line between your sentences. FFS

The weekend is saved! New video from Flatbush Cats!
This video really got me up and out today. It just lit up my world a bit :D
You could always adopt this video.
I love how much you do to help these kitties. Giorgio is so adorable.
Chad Mower I know right. It’s lovely to see how quickly he adapted to the vip life.
Yes! It is beautiful to see people saving cats and other animals.
It's heartbreaking that you have so many feral cats, but you do a wonderful job and you have such a lovely voice, best wishes from UK ♥️♥️
It is so nice to know that their are still giving and unselfish people in this world!
That voice has a calming effect indeed...
I like his mellow voice too. I can tell he has a lot of good will towards cats and people. I also like the music in the background of these videos.

MongoSaqqara RadCats Huge burly men have feelings too. ♥️♥️♥️
Give your cats treats or just a good day of play time for me. I can't have cats where I live.
