I learned as a teenager that trapping cats against their wishes, even just to express affection, is the best way to ensure that they hate snuggling. When I got older, I made a point of always allowing my cat to leave when it wanted, and have thus consistently found that cats that know they can leave whenever they wish like to snuggle the most, and are least likely to want to leave.

We had a 1950's night light. A single LED bulb (smaller than a pea). One night there were no stars and the moon wasn't up. Hubby reached over and took the night light out of the outlet. I told him he had to put it back in because cats can't see in total darkness they need some light for their eyes to magnify it. He said no they can see just fine. I told him no they can't. Just then there was a THUNK!!!! My cat was walking from the bed to the window sill and fell to the floor. I said " I TOLD YOU SO!!" Only three times in my life time(I'm 65)has the been such PERFECT TIMING!!!!
This was very helpful! Thank you. I recently got adopted by a cat and I wasn’t prepared. She taught me to buy food, get a litterbox and don’t play to rough. It’s quite a beautiful challenge but as we fell in love at first sight, I wanted to make it work. This really helps.
@TheSleepingonit They get it dirty by using it as a face cleaning source. After eating, you might see them going straight for the water bowl, not to drink (at first) but to wash off any remaining food bits. That's why most fountains have a filter pack on them, it catches these bits so they don't return to fresh water. You DO have to clean those fountains at a frequency that doesn't overload the filter.
This is an excellent video. As a cat owner for over for over 30 years, I have learned most of this already! But I am going to share, as everyone should know this. Huge paws up!
I have always made sure to clean out my cats' bowls and replace the water twice per week. After this video I will make sure to do it more often. I grew up with dogs but in my later years I have been adopted by several cats. I have 2 inside. One since she was a kitten and the other I took in from the street at about 10 yrs old. That one is my shadow and goes everywhere I do. I also have 3 ferals outside I take care of. They are getting braver by the day as now 2 of them will come in my door with I open it to go out and feed them. I am now a certified cat lady and love every minute of it.
Changing water in bowls is usually done everyday.. Everyday is the norm and that's what we do for our cats and figus as well as the water we keep for the street kitties outside..
The best cats come as rescues, they are more willing to give love when they feel loved, and can become very loving, loyal and trusting. ❤ You are blessed!

I remember being about 10 years old when I saw a neighbor's young child (4-5 years) picking up a cat totally wrong. I went over and taught her to support kitty's butt and chest while picking up the cat. I'm not even sure how I knew, but I was so proud of myself and her for listening. 😂😂😂
I've never had my own cat, but for several years I lived in a rooming house with cats. One of them was very independent and, in fact, he seemed to believe that he was a human trapped in some unfortunate lifestyle where he had to eat cat food out of a bowl with cats, use a litter box that cats used, look other humans in their shins instead of in their eyes. When I first met him, he only allowed a couple of people to even touch him, and only his official human could pick him up. Well, it seemed to me that Mister Cat was missing out on some essential elements of life, so I simply wouldn't take "no" for an answer from him. To pick him up, I used what to me was common sense and the way I thought I would want to be picked up if I were a cat -- just as described in the video! At first, Mister Cat went rigid, but once he was up eye to eye with the rest of his "fellow humans", serious purring began. I walked around the house backward so he could see where we were going over my shoulder. From that moment forward, Mister Cat was the bestest buddy. He would come to my room to get me if he needed something and his official human wasn't around, because all he had to do was meow once and I understood what he was telling me about -- did he want to go outside, was the food dish empty, was the water dish empty, did he want to play, did he just want some company for a while, did he want me to pick him up and walk him backwards around the house again. If I had not instinctively known the correct way to lift a cat, I may have ruined any chance of experiencing such an enriching cross-species friendship, for both myself and for Mister Cat -- although if he could still be here today, he would probably wonder what I mean by "cross-species". 😉
It comes naturally i adopted a wild cat about 5-6 days ago and i feel like i know everything but I don't know but I just feel like it i know some things but i do😂
I miss my cat she just passed away. She would sleep in bed with me every night. My sister adopted her when she was a baby and I ended up keeping her for her whole life. I want to adopt a new kitty but my parents moved in to my house while they are getting their home remodeled and so I have to wait till they move back out. When they do I am going to the shelter to adopt a new kitty.
I totally agree with you! When my cat was alive, when I left the house, I left a light for him. But, a Russian "friend" who is overly conceited laughed at me, because she believed that cats could see everything in the darkness. She's so stupid. Cats can see things in a dim environment better than humans, but this doesn't mean that they don't need any light!
Interesting about the fresh water!!! I believe this goes for giving water for all your pets and children. I think it's good to scrub that water bowl every day or two with a little bit of soap to remove that slimy feeling that you feel after the bowls been used for a couple of days.
It's much better to buy a fountain for them I have six and was constantly dumping out n cleaning n filling the water bowl all day long . I actually would buy 4-5 cases of water a month for them. I was told about fountains b I bought one and they love it. .they get washed in their water bowl n would play in it too n it was causing constant messes .. now I buy one case of water a month n they now have a stainless steel fountain that they love. The filter n sponge catches all the hair n other stuff and refilling it constantly is so easy ... It's the best thing I've ever found..
You still have to clean a fountain just as often lmao the point of them is so your car is enticed to drink more water because they thing running water is fresher @@debbienikyniky
@@juniormondonos I recently bought separate water and food bowls for both my cats because at least one of them would get food in their water every day. Didn't change anything, still happens.
This is something that new cat owners need to listen to, but I leave food out for my cats constantly, but if I ever see that they're getting fat that will stop. My cats hardly ever meow to me, they talk to me in Cat talk, the best I can describe it is chirping. Love on your Cat and your Cat will love you. And yes, do not, I repeat, do not rough play with your Kitty, because you will regret it, this is one reason why men hate Cats, they want to get rough with them, and then wind up with the cat whooping their ass.
NO NO NO. Free feeding is so bad and not just cuz they can get fat. Cats aren’t grazing animals, at least get a timed auto feeder since you use dry food plz.
My neighbor played rough with his kitten, basically mishandling her. Now, when he wants someone to cat sit, she plays aggressively, and this makes them want to avoid her.

Everyone on here with their "funny" cats videos need to see this. Too many people pick their grown cats up by the neck. I say something when I see it but usually just get yelled at by half the comments. I'll still do it in hopes that someone actually doesn't know it's harmful and stops.
I literally just saw a thread on Facebook and people were arguing the fact that their cats did understand punishment like this One girl admitted that she spanked her cat when it ran across the highway nd I said your cat absolutely does not know. I mean maybe if you catch it in that very second but not even ten seconds later. You cannot control cats. You can keep them indoors.
@@Jamie-y8e haha cats are the best. I want a maine coon so bad ♡ One of my cats gets highly jealous. Always has since she was a kitten. She glares at me if I dont feed her first, pet her first.

@@Sharon-f3jI only recently learned about it, but at the same time she could have been in the upstairs sound asleep and I had had those in a drawer and if I touched it or picked it up to move it I would turn around and she would be right beside me meowing ready to go at it, and she only seemed annoyed when the battery would die.

Cats also prefer their food and water be separated, as they are in the wild. And they love to find a glass of water somewhere they aren't expecting it. ❤
We are looking after a friend's cat at present and he came to us in a really stressed condition. Regularising his feeding etc has made an immense difference, but he still attacks your leg, claws and biting when you walk away. We keep trying. !! 😾🐱
Thank you! I had a cat that I loved ❤ her so much! She would put one paw on each of each my shoulders, then would put her head and give me a nudge. She would pure while doing me the whole time. I would give her a little nuge back when she did this, a little Love Nudge ❤
It's also really important to know that every cat can have a more unique personality then just how playful they are, some "deeper" things than changing toys often (like even some instincts) can be the exact opposite for your cat
I literally leave nightlights on and even cartoons on all day so they don't have to focus on every little sound ♡ I hold my cats in the most loving way. I hold them securely with my hand under their hind paws.. I think. Now I have to check. All I know is its proper, holding their butt. Im a good cat mom.. I have learned some through all the videos I watch but it mainly gives me a pat on the back because im already doing everything naturally correctly ♡ I didn't always though. I only had one cat, one litter box for 8 years. My daughter brought a tiny kitten home and the 2 did share a litter box, no problem.. I clean it every day, often twice. My cats do not mind. I now have 7 cats. 4 were from an abandoned litter under my shed of the house we just moved into. One is a disabled kitten we rescued. We have 3 litter boxes, 7 cats. I know its not enough but they only really use 2 out of 3. I am still going to get more. Im actually looking now.
You sound like an amazing cat mom! 😻 Leaving nightlights and cartoons on is such a sweet idea to keep them comfy. Holding them securely with a hand under their hind paws is perfect. 😊 And wow, seven cats! You're doing a fantastic job managing all of them, especially with the litter boxes. Adding more sounds like a good plan, but it’s clear you’re already doing a great job. ❤️🐾
15: I have found that, with patience, building trust, and a bond, my cats LOVE being held like a baby, they relax, love being scratched around the face and ears....they feel secure and happy.
Yeah not all these points are accurate - certainly not for every cat. I totally agree on that one, my last cat loved to be cradled for a few minutes at a time. She also loved to have her face pet, to the point I could just mooshface her and she'd be eating it up. Silly thing. I miss her so much. 💔

I had a cat that would jump on the bed and get a pretty hard massage every night. If it was too much, she could have got away and jumped off the bed. But this kitty enjoyed it so much. She asked for that massage every night before I would fall asleep. She was my favorite little buddy. Acted more like a dog that a cat! ❤
Excellent video. This should be given to anyone adopting a cat 🐈⬛!!! So many people mistreat cats because they haven’t learned about them. Cats are so special and such a pleasure to share space with. Unlike dogs, you have to earn a cat’s affection and love. You hurt them……they don’t forget. 😿 I Have 4 and I love them all and they love me ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I believe that for most indoor cats (who stay at home alone while their parents work), are much happier and healthier overall with a companion, another cat or dog staying at home also. They communicate with each other, they discuss what's going on in the home and they get to share life's experiences while their parents are away. I believe this is even more true for dogs, particularly certain breeds such as poodles. . Ideally, your pets will be young, under 4 years of age or so, when they meet, where they are more likely to be open-minded and wanting to make friends. But I believe older dogs and cats can also adapt somewhat as long as long as the older pet is not sickly or in pain. You can separate the two sometimes and separate rooms if you're older pet gets fed up with the friskiness and energy of the younger pet. Individual personalities play into this too.
My cat loves the shallow clam shell bowl I use for his water. He can lap from the edge and so it gives him a good idea where the water is in relation to his face.
thankyou SO much for talking about the laser toys - i wish they would get rid of them. my father played with his cat and would wear her out - he thought it was funny that she would jump way up the wall to not get anything. She had a heart attack when she was only 5 years old. I hate the things.
Nice video have had indoor/ outdoors cats for years let your cats be happy. I talk to them using same phrases to communicate they react appropriately 90% of the time. 😊
I disagree with feeding schedules for cats and dogs. They like several small meals a day and night too. When they have available food all the time, they overeat less and dont have that feeding time anxiety and actually eat smaller portions. They like a variety of treats too but dont over da it, treats are not intended to be a meal and can be unhealthy in large amounts. Also, all cats lick themselves and its completely healthy to cough up hairballs occasionally, something some folks dont understand. Treat animals as family members because THEY ARE just that. Common sense goes a long way. Theyre smarter than they get credit for.
@@claudiafuentes1468 every cat and dog that was in my family that was inside the house or barn always had dry food full time. My main coon ( and all my cats and dog)were dumped here ( common prob on my dirt road-- is where ALL my pets came from) . At first they eat like shop vacs , and stampede every time they hear food rattling or cans opening, but after a few weeks they realize they dont have to compete for every meal and they then only mosey over if it's treats or wet food. Cats are more complicated than dogs but they're trainable and their different personalities shine through when a little effort and time is offered. The 25# Maine coon loves to play fetch ! Hes more like a dog than a cat ! Lol. --- to your point, I think the difference is mostly in the humans than the animals, acknowledging that some folks arent able to be with them because of work and just life. I'm disabled and am with mine most all the time. They truly are family to me. Even before I got hurt 25 yrs ago animals were drawn to me when noone else could get near them or were kind of a one person critter but would interact with me sometimes more than the owner! To me animals are easy---- it's people that suck ! Animals are honest and loyal and sometimes ornery-- like me ! Lol. Sorry for writing a damn book ! Lol . Just the solitude I guess. L8R !
@claudiafuentes1468 It really does not depend on the cat, because all cats are literally built for several small meals per day. They hunt small prey in every few hours.
I have a ragdoll and ragamuffin they’re always laying on their backs and love their belly touched, it’s funny because I had the best orange tabby for years who was very much like a dog, but he didn’t like his belly rubbed, these two, love it. Think it’s something with the breed.
Last night I was thinking, cats are far more emotional than most people realize. It is very odd that this video showed up for me when it did though, even though I do watch a lot of cat videos. Not educational stuff like this though. But there is a lot I learned, so bravo. Now if only I could figure out why my cat meows so much when outside, while I'm outside with him.
Picking them up by the scruff should be avoided. I read an article it may DISLODGE THE MICROCHIP....AND GO INTO ANOTHER AREA WHICH IS NOT GOOD. BE CAREFUL FOLKS.
Id say most of this is accurate and great info! Exept my baby Ghost loves belly/chest rubs and nearly falls asleep when I hold him like a baby. He flops an arm out, shuts his eyes, and purrs and purrs. He flops over for me to rub his chest when its bed time too ❤
thank you for sharing! I feel terrible after the fact, I didnt know i had such terrible parenting skills. No more!. Thankd goodness i dont have kids, LOL!
1:56 I was once feeding my neighborhood street cats and dogs, and there was an electricity outage. When the lights came back, I found out a cat was hit by a passing car while the lights were out when she was trying to cross the street to my side 😢. Lesson is, pause the feeding if the lights went out for some time...
5:37 I am really happy that you included this part about hownto pick up and not to use the scruff of there neck!! I see people do that and I always cringe at it. I barked at my sister for picking up my cat like that. I feel like my kitty isn't happy enough. So I plan to deploy some of these points.
I think jealousy might need to be added here. My cat ran away from home because a new cat came to live with us. After she saw me petting the new cat, she would no longer sleep in the bed with me like she used to and completely abandoned her favorite kitty condo. (No sharing) She relocated herself two doors down to a neighbor's house. She comes twice a day to eat but refuses to stay. I feed her, take her to the vet, do all the general health stuff for her and keep her microchip activated and collared with name and contact info. But she refuses to stay on my property or in the house.😢 BTW, the neighbors love her and don't mind she comes there to sleep or hang out.
I've had a similar problem with my cats since I bought a new rescue cat home who happens to be a boy. I'm careful not to give him too much attention in front of them or if i do I share it round to them all, talking to each one differently. They have got use to knowing that they're not missing out now but still some hiccups to resolve. I find it takes time and much patience. They must all have their own private places to go and the new cats not allowed to sneak their special places around the house. He has his own. It all helps. Feeding them close by at the same time is a big help. I talk to my cats always about being nice to him and he to them, let him have a chance and I tell them he was abandoned and it was a hard life. it's been a year of disruption for my girl cats and me but perseverance is paying off. Things are settling down somewhat and they're much more use to him. He knows to come for his breakfast after I have fed and spent time with the girls first which he sussed out all by himself. He's doing well, desexed now. Not too happy with me on that, but can't have him fathering feral cats,it's not fair to the stray females. All the best with your adventure. Keep talking to your first cat, keep reassuring it and spend time alone with it without new cat anywhere to be seen. It takes alot of time for them to get over their sense of betrayl.
Thank you so much for this info😊 I don't buy cat toys from China. I make my own, with long, real feathers duck-taped onto a long, clean bbq skewer with the sharp point taped up safety, not exposed. I also cut up an old sheep skin rug into about a 2 inch square, trimmed the fur short, turned it, skin side out and sewed it up with a long thick string. I stuff cat nip inside of it. She loves the toys. She's my angel 😇
I swear my cat has had a whole series of past lives the way she plays with my emotions. She's just like a child--she doesn't want her toys or play with them for months. Then when I give them away she bites on my shoes for retribution.😐
I transitioned from the traditional litterbox to the automatic cleaning one and my kitty adapted very well to it till she saw it cleaning her poop for the first time 😂 she was scared of using it afterwards and pooped at a corner in the basement. (sneaky girl) I carried her to the spot and forced her to stare (and smell) at her poop while I lightly slapped on her but and head. After that, we had a two days intense toilet training where I carried her into the litterbox and forced her to stay five minutes at a time while giving her treats as encouragement. She learned to not be afraid of the sounds the litterbox makes very soon afterwards 😂(I feel her tho if I was her I would've thought my bathroom is haunted with the noises and my poop disappearing all the time 😂)
at 18:51 you asked if i ever got the sense my cat is checking up on me , while im minding my own business and 5 times already she checked up one me and that its revealing my relationship with my kitty - but which relationship do you mean that its revealing ?
at this point I am just a guest in my cat's apartment. I help with the rent, of course - I'm not ungrateful! I think the main thing from this list I need to deal with is the "too many toys" thing. I hope it works, as my boy loves to fetch but now it seems we've run out of toys he wants to chase :/ My cat chooses baby pose while I'm trying to work. And the best part is he is never more dangerous than when he climbs in my lap, flips over, tucks his head up against my body and looks up at me oh so sweetly. If I touch him, even accidentally, he chooses violence :D
Cats love the laser pointer. Everything they here me pull it out they get so excited. When the drawer is open, one will jump in and pull it out and bring it to me.
As a cat mommy, I have realized how incredibly intelligent cats are. With dogs, if they’re doing something you want them to stop doing, you have to startle them to make any impact. But cats are so highly intelligent they understand our vocal communications. All I do is have a conversation and explain a few times like you would expect on a toddler and my cats will adjust their own behavior accordingly. ❤
I change my cats water 3 times a day and give him 3 large bowls in different areas of the living room The bowls are large and glass that won’t cause whisker issues (I hope) He’s 20 and loves to rub his face on the edge before he drinks (he lays down as he eats and drinks since he turned 18) but he almost plays in his water bowl and soaks his entire neck area but seems to love it. Sometimes he puts his head on the dish and falls asleep there.
One thing I realised is that my cats want to come into my room at night when my lights are on, however, when I would turn the lights off to sleep they would leave my room.
5:27 I had an argument with a vet tech about yanking my MC out of his carrier by the scruff. It pissed me off and I never went back. I found a better vet. She just stood there and didn't say a word. smh

I remember being about 10 years old when I saw a neighbor's young child (4-5 years) picking up a cat totally wrong. I went over and taught her to support kitty's butt and chest while picking up the cat. I'm not even sure how I knew, but I was so proud of myself and her for listening. 😂😂😂
We always had cats for pets because my Dad just loved them. I can remember my Dad teaching/showing me how to pick up a cat as a young girl.
It comes naturally i adopted a wild cat about 5-6 days ago and i feel like i know everything but I don't know but I just feel like it i know some things but i do😂
😮t😮t
I miss my cat she just passed away. She would sleep in bed with me every night. My sister adopted her when she was a baby and I ended up keeping her for her whole life. I want to adopt a new kitty but my parents moved in to my house while they are getting their home remodeled and so I have to wait till they move back out. When they do I am going to the shelter to adopt a new kitty.
Oh no. I hope you get over it okay...
Condoleances for your sweet cat. I hope you will find a new furry friend as soon as possible
And your parents should not be in the way to get a new cat. Tell them to stay in the other room is they don't like your new kitten
It seems to build up super fast in hot weather 🤢yuk
Yup, get rid of the slime. Also change the water as soon as there are any food particles floating in the water.
@@icuabc1235 you should not wait until your cat gets fat to learn you need to feed him or her less. Common sense
@@jimmirow do do do do do do do do do I don’t care what you’re saying I didn’t even read it

Everyone on here with their "funny" cats videos need to see this. Too many people pick their grown cats up by the neck. I say something when I see it but usually just get yelled at by half the comments. I'll still do it in hopes that someone actually doesn't know it's harmful and stops.
I’m so proud of myself for knowing most of these already! I sometimes feel like a bad cat mom but I see now that I’m not half bad.
2:27 😅😊😅
You're spot on. No spanking ever. I literally had to suck up to Scooby my Maine Coon after looking at him wrong....😂😂😂not kidding
@@Jamie-y8e haha cats are the best. I want a maine coon so bad ♡ One of my cats gets highly jealous. Always has since she was a kitten. She glares at me if I dont feed her first, pet her first.
🙄
No , we cat owners believe you. We've all been there!
5:16 my cats broken, he doesn't let me pick him up like that but purrs when I hold him upside down😂
😅❤❤❤❤❤
Your cat is special! ❤
I love the fact that the narrator used the term "cat parent" and not the words "owner" ❤.
@ravipeiris4388 We know who owns who. I have 8 rescue cats and it's like running a nursery school!
Stop infantilizing cats and treating them as little humans. You're not respecting Rule #1. You're not its parent, you're its owner. Period.
@@BouitazDogs have owners, cats have staff. Fact.
It's stupid
I also like the term "cat guardian" per Jackson Galaxy.
I'm a lucky cat mom. I have a cat that absolutely loves being cradled and getting gentle belly rubs
Genuinely pleasantly surprised to find all the info here correct and well explained for those new to feline care.
All GREAT tips for owning a healthy well adjusted kitty. Thanks for the lessons!
AGREED! Especially, STOP being lazy, using lasers (which irreparably damage all retinas). Animals are observably Frustrated. ALL ARE COMMON MISTAKES of longtime cat lovers, owners and health professionals!
Thank you for letting me know about lasers i don't have one now but i have in the past.
Their eyes will be fine if you don't point it at them

Cats also prefer their food and water be separated, as they are in the wild. And they love to find a glass of water somewhere they aren't expecting it. ❤
We are looking after a friend's cat at present and he came to us in a really stressed condition. Regularising his feeding etc has made an immense difference, but he still attacks your leg, claws and biting when you walk away. We keep trying. !! 😾🐱
Thank you!! Our fur babies need our understanding.❤❤🫶🙌👐❤️♥️🤗🙏
"Cats are fiercely independent"
Please tell that to my cat.
Ditto 😂
Absolutely
oh I bet your cat already knows but just chooses to let you believe what you believe so it doesn't have to do sh*t. XD
Thank you!
I had a cat that I loved ❤ her so much! She would put one paw on each of each my shoulders, then would put her head and give me a nudge. She would pure while doing me the whole time. I would give her a little nuge back when she did this,
a little Love Nudge ❤

If you have Wi-Fi and you have a Wi-Fi TV you can go to UA-cam and play some Cat TV for them
Thank you my cats are everything to me
One of my cats loves being cradled. He'd fall asleep there if I had the strength to hold him that long.
My kitty name is Greece. He is a orange cat.I love your video's they are so useful they help me understood Greece without your video's he would have died for bieng misunderstood

Great channel. I have six cats myself, they're all related and live inside. It's such a joy to have them in my life.
This is a fantastic video. Highly recommend for beginning cat owners.
Kitty keeps knocking my phone flat...she wants ALL my attention.
I agree i've always had two cats. They need to know they're not alone.
My cat loves the shallow clam shell bowl I use for his water. He can lap from the edge and so it gives him a good idea where the water is in relation to his face.
Glass bowls are best. I also use elevated bowls
thankyou SO much for talking about the laser toys - i wish they would get rid of them. my father played with his cat and would wear her out - he thought it was funny that she would jump way up the wall to not get anything.
That depends on the cats. All cats are different. I do feed mine twice a day and during the day I give them small portions of wet food.
@@ellasoriginalchannel9713yes it does
Oh my one cat insists on baby carry. I never initiate. She just likes to flop over and get belly scritches.
I have a ragdoll and ragamuffin they’re always laying on their backs and love their belly touched, it’s funny because I had the best orange tabby for years who was very much like a dog, but he didn’t like his belly rubbed, these two, love it. Think it’s something with the breed.

Thank you you’re the first person. I’ve heard that says the truth about those laser pointers.
My cat's fetch with me and I always put them close 2 them weather it's stuffed or a ball❤
This is the best cat video I've seen online.
My own cat gives me his belly many times in a run of a day. 😸 😸 😸 ❤ ❤ ❤.
I was all set to roll my eyes at every one thing brought up and halfway thru, every one has made complete sense. lol damn. :D
The Laser is right. I stopped doing that. My cats did get frustrated. I have 4 cats. Every one is different.
I miss my cat. I love you Domino!! 😢
He flops over for me to rub his chest when its bed time too ❤
NEVER, ignore your kitty.
thank you for sharing! I feel terrible after the fact, I didnt know i had such terrible parenting skills. No more!. Thankd goodness i dont have kids, LOL!
they literally suck at living lol gotta be safe with these babies

I was once feeding my neighborhood street cats and dogs, and there was an electricity outage.
I love kitties SO MUCH.
I just cannot get enough!
6:10 but my cat likes when I hold home like a baby he purrs and makes muffins in the air so cute 🥰
I think jealousy might need to be added here. My cat ran away from home because a new cat came to live with us. After she saw me petting the new cat, she would no longer sleep in the bed with me like she used to and completely abandoned her favorite kitty condo. (No sharing)
She relocated herself two doors down to a neighbor's house. She comes twice a day to eat but refuses to stay. I feed her, take her to the vet, do all the general health stuff for her and keep her microchip activated and collared with name and contact info. But she refuses to stay on my property or in the house.😢
BTW, the neighbors love her and don't mind she comes there to sleep or hang out.
Once my cat climbed up a tree in my garden and sat in a bird nest 😂😊
Thank you for this video, it reassured me of understanding more about my darling 🐈 cat.
My mom told me that my uncle had cut the whiskers off a cat and, ever since then, the cat absolutely hated him.
02:04 Dear god that is the exact expression i see when I wake up in the dead of the night with one of my cats on my chest looking at me..

This was so informative, thank you!
Magnificently done video
1:01 ( I have never even thought of using a laser! )
I swear my cat has had a whole series of past lives the way she plays with my emotions. She's just like a child--she doesn't want her toys or play with them for months. Then when I give them away she bites on my shoes for retribution.😐
I always hide little treats around the house then have them chase the Lazer pointer to the treat.
This is a very educational and excellent.🙂
Much gratitude!❤🙏😊
Almost spot on but the holding, butt to elbow resting on arm head in my palm, they love that if they feel secure/protected.
Te darkness one suprised me, because our girl , Noodle, cuddles under the duvet with us at night 🙊
She learned to not be afraid of the sounds the litterbox makes very soon afterwards 😂(I feel her tho if I was her I would've thought my bathroom is haunted with the noises and my poop disappearing all the time 😂)
5:10 I was really scared that I was doing that one wrong- glad to know I'm not!
Excellent video! I thought I was doing many things correct. I was not. Thank you!
I love how cats are basically me with my moderate social phobia and Aspergers syndrome.
at 18:51 you asked if i ever got the sense my cat is checking up on me , while im minding my own business and 5 times already she checked up one me and that its revealing my relationship with my kitty - but which relationship do you mean that its revealing ?
It sounds like your kitty is super into making sure you’re okay! 🐱❤️ It shows that she really trusts and cares about you. 😺🥰
I think there's another video about that.
She might want something
at this point I am just a guest in my cat's apartment. I help with the rent, of course - I'm not ungrateful!
I think the main thing from this list I need to deal with is the "too many toys" thing. I hope it works, as my boy loves to fetch but now it seems we've run out of toys he wants to chase :/
My cat chooses baby pose while I'm trying to work. And the best part is he is never more dangerous than when he climbs in my lap, flips over, tucks his head up against my body and looks up at me oh so sweetly. If I touch him, even accidentally, he chooses violence :D
One litter box per cat, PLUS ONE MORE.
I totally thought that about the laser
Cats love the laser pointer. Everything they here me pull it out they get so excited. When the drawer is open, one will jump in and pull it out and bring it to me.
As a cat mommy, I have realized how incredibly intelligent cats are. With dogs, if they’re doing something you want them to stop doing, you have to startle them to make any impact. But cats are so highly intelligent they understand our vocal communications. All I do is have a conversation and explain a few times like you would expect on a toddler and my cats will adjust their own behavior accordingly. ❤
definitely going to try the one with playing before feeding! other pointers feel natural to me being an experienced cat owner. that one is a new idea
Our cats have food out all day but they still chase flies and any flying or jumping insects daily 😸 😸 😸 ❤ ❤ ❤
these kitty’s are so adorable!
Awesome video! Thanks!
Night lights that are solar is great. I have one in every room.
One thing I realised is that my cats want to come into my room at night when my lights are on, however, when I would turn the lights off to sleep they would leave my room.
Thanx! I have learned a whole lot more!!!!🙏😜😃😋🙉🙊🙈😋😃😜🙏
