I've had my Asus ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED i9 since July 8, 2021. I use DaVinci Resolve Studio for video editing. I use Adobe subscription Lightroom and Photoshop. I'm a software developer and use Microsoft Visual Studio. You ask if this laptop is worth the price. For me the answer is yes. Yes, it is.
is the 2nd screen really worth it? cuz the retailers at my place tell me that it gets damaged and won't work well in future. Should I go for this lap or another one without 2nd screen?

I'm a 3D designer and this thing has been amazing, and only gets better since I opened the box. I used to be a mac user, and now when I hear people recommend mac for anything video or graphic design I laugh. Asus has truly made something with us in mind and cared to think about what we actually want instead of "telling us" what we want. This thing is well worth the price as I've been able to do my work on the go with little to no compromise. This laptop is life changing and I honestly never thought I'd ever like a laptop as much as this one.
As far as I'm concerned there's only one laptop maker that cares about creators, and that is Asus.
What softwares do you use for this laptop? I’m asking bc I am in the architecture field let me know thanks! 🙏
@@l3vzz281 This many not be useful as I'm more in graphics, but I use Cinema 4D, Substance Painter and Designer, Zbrush, Rizom UV, Gestaltor, Unreal Engine, the Adobe Suite, and Houdini. Not only can this run them all, but I've often run a lot of them all at the same time without much problem. Maybe not while doing a full redshift render on C4D, but just making stuff this thing lifts a heavy load without flinching!

@@roryemmons7929 I just ordered one and I'm also a 3D artist. I was really curious about Zbrush and Substance Painter. What pen are you using and what display do you paint/sculpt on? Also do those applications understand the pressure sensitivity? I'm sure I'll find out on my own but I'd love to hear more about your experience! Thanks!
@@davehansan Hey, Congrats! I wouldn't say the touch screen would be something that would be a replacement for a display tablet. That's why I got a Huion Kamvas 13 as it was cheaper than a wacom and the perfect size for my backpack. I use the display for Zbrush as the stylus on the Asus just isn't a proper pen display. But I've used it with Substance Painter. I've some of the menus on the screen below. I use C4D and when I'm in that I use the bottom screen for the timeline and the attributes menu. It did take a while to get used to the new layout, but I have adapted and use it regularly now. Honestly it took like 5 months. I've been loving it ever since and for the first time feel fully capably to create anything in 3D using a setup I can bring anywhere.
I have had an Asus Zenbook duo for about 3 years and I love it! What really surprises me is that they always try to market it to creators and not just everyday users. 90% of what I do is internet and email and that is why I love it so much. I use the top screen for internet and the bottom for email. Everything is right in front of me no need to switch back and forth between windows. Once you get used to it you will never go back.

I write a lot online and usually keep 7-9 tabs open at once on an hp 4gb ram laptop and it always freezers on me. Would getting one of these with 32gb ram 1000gb hard drive solve the problem?

This is due to the generation of Intel's Core. The Duo has 11th gen i7 while the Pro has 10th gen i9 (arguably better than 11th gen: more cores). 10th gen chipsets do not support PCIe 4 or Thunderbolt 4 which has very strict specifications, it has Thunderbolt 3 that is just as capable as the Thunderbolt 3 found in the Duo.
The new pro duo with 12700h or 12900h has thunderbolt 4. But it doesn't have SD reader
The only downside is lack of usb port & sd slot

I agree but since most camera bags only allow 15 inch I'm assuming they notice that consumers prefer 15 inch as their choice.

Why hasn't any reviewer talked about the touch screen overlay that can be seen on the main display. It makes the screen look dirty and almost pixelated and it is on every ZenBook duo 15 and 14. It is also on the ZenBook pro oled but a tad less noticable. You see thousands of ugly dots all over the screen and it is very apparent when looking at white or other light color solid backgrounds. This laptop is horrible for both photo and video editing. I know for a fact that the pantone validation was done not considering the overlay. It was most likely validated before the touch overlay was put on. White is not white. It is a textured gray. Samsung tablets with touch do not look like this neither do any phones. Why didn't you talk about this? It really ruins the experience especially when paying 2000-$4000 for this machine. Either the reviewers are hiding this from viewers or they are not competent or experienced enough to put their face 6"-12" from the screen to see it. I can see it from normal viewing distance. Why hasn't anyone warned us about this? It is a HUGE FLAW.
