You can easily make the control centre button and manual disappear from the 2nd screen by going to the Control Centre settings, choose 'control center' and scroll down to 'control center on screenpad plus' settings. There is an auto-hide setting. Turn it on. For those using Davinci Resolve, version 18 comes with a new duo screen function. It ROCKS on the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo!!
The overlay that keeps "disappearing" has adjustable preferences in the settings. It can also be made to stay visible or reduce to a button (that can also be set to disappear) that can be moved to a preferred location elsewhere on the screen.
I have the latest version with the 13900H, 32gb ram, and RTX 4060. I love it very much except that out of the box the cpu was not performing the way it should be with it compared to other laptops have the same cpu. I believe Asus hamstrings the i9 in the Pro Duo 14 to keep it from running hot, it feeds more power to the gpu than the cpu by design. Anyway, when I run timespy on it, it scores 11770 on the cpu and 8600 on the gpu. When I undervolt the gpu, the cpu scores is above 12300 and the gpu scores about 8900. FYI, the 2022 Pro Duo 14 has a i7-12700H can score over 12,000 on the cpu. If you get this 2023 laptop, you must use MSI Afterburner to undervolt the gpu, that will make the both the cpu and gpu run faster and the laptop runs cooler in general. Also, beware of getting this laptop on amazon. I first got mine on amazon U.S. and the laptop actually came with 1tb NVME instead of the advertised 2tb. * DON'T get a Pro Duo laptop whether it is the 15 or 14 with 16gb ram, it runs very laggy even when just watching youtube videos on the main screen and the screen pad. The standard 120hz refresh rate is already long due. The fact that brands have been postponing the move to keep costs lower doesn't mean the technology to be able to do so isn't sufficient, because it has been for at least 4 years already. Trying to justify getting a 60hz screen on any screen tied to a Windows/Mac/Android/IOS device in 2022 just doesn't make sense. Imagine that, instead of having used the 60hz refresh rate as a standard for as many years as we have, it would've been 24hz in exchange. Would it make sense to have a device like the Zenbook Pro DUO with a 24hz screen? If anything, I would ask why it didn't come with 144hz instead of a 120hz. Another point: I'm not an artist, but as far as I know, increasing from 60 to 120hz does make a big impact in terms of comfort when drawing with a stylus. And besides all that, I cannot say I agree with the idea of this device targetting content creators exclusively. Having 2 screens is benefitial for most users. For instance, I work as a web developer, and I always find it very difficult to work when I have only one screen available. I've also worked as a translator, and the 2 screens have been equally useful.
I really want to buy this, I'm a graphic designer that has to do a lot of video editing, illustrating etc. This seems perfect BUT ive seen so many reviews of people who have had one for a year and its broke on them from overheating or screens die etc, it scares me, i dont know if i should take the plunge.

Thanks for showing how that dual screen setup is useful for a creative workflow. I'm very tempted by the 14 Pro Duo. Asus seem to have recently refreshed it with 13th gen Intel processors and up to an RTX 4060. I can't really see any reviews of this latest refresh yet, but reviews of the 12th gen models are still relevant. I'm thinking of getting this to replace both my 9 year old desktop and a Galaxy Book Pro (a fairly recent 13.3" touch screen convertible). It's amazing to see how much tech moves on as even the ultra-low power variant i5 in my Galaxy Book matches the performance of the 140 watt 6-core i7 in my desktop, at least if it was running at stock speeds. The moderate overclock on my desktop brings it ahead a little but not by much. Recently I've been considering how much the desktop costs to run what with electricity being very expensive atm. Works out to be around £250 - 300 per year, whereas even a higher end laptop like this Zenbook Pro Duo would be under £100. So if I'm saving up to £200 a year on electricity, and I was to keep a new laptop for 9 years like my desktop then it would have pretty much paid for itself thanks to the cheaper running costs. Initially I was hoping that Asus had updated the 15.6" Pro Duo model, which I thought would be more appropriate as a desktop replacement but seeing how much power they have packed into a 14" model is pretty incredible, and would make it suitable not only as a desktop replacement for use at home but small & light enough to not feel that much different than carrying around my Galaxy Book for uni work. And as a music student but also being into photography & video editing, having 2 touchscreens would be fantastic for the variety of software I use. The Zenbook Pro Duo model I'm looking at is the top end one - i9 13900H, 32GB RAM, RTX 4060 and 2TB SSD. If I'm already going to be paying thousands I think it would be silly not to pay that bit more for the top end specs, and then hopefully be able to get at least 5 years of feeling like I have more than enough power for my uses...ideally 10 years! This top end model is currently £2999 on Amazon but considering the 13th gen is brand new, maybe that price will come down a little if I wait a couple of months. Only downsides I can really see - as you mentioned, not having expandable RAM or a 2nd NVME slot. That would certainly make it feel like a better investment, even if it just had the one user-expandable RAM slot that could allow it to be doubled up to 64GB in the future if future software is a big RAM hog (and even now, working on big files or lots of stuff at once could eat up 32GB. One thing my desktop seems to hate is having multiple desktops created in Windows, that really seems to slow it down). Having only one NVME slot isn't such a disadvantage as at least the SSD can be user-replaced, but still a shame they couldn't put a second there - then it would allow 2TB to be doubled by adding a second 2TB drive (and also benefit from extra speed from RAID if desired), rather than having to buy a single 4TB that would be very expensive and make a loss selling the replaced 2TB. Only other thing I'm not certain about is the screen. It looks fantastic in terms of colour, sharpness and HDR support. But I'm very used to 16:9 screens. If I'm editing 4K videos or even watching videos on the go (whether UA-cam or films/TV shows) most stuff is going to be in 16:9 so I'm wondering whether the black bars I would see above & below the screen would be annoying. To be fair most of the time I would be using this laptop at home, plugged into an external 32" 4K monitor as my primary screen and using the built-in screens as secondary but still just a thought...whilst actually editing in software the 16:10 would be useful for more workspace but playing back content, 16:9 would be preferable. The resulting screen res is a bit weird too; 2880 x 1800. Hopefully that doesn't affect the quality of videos being scaled to that resolution. 1080p scales evenly to 4K, just doubling on each side so if you have a 4K screen, watching 4K content is most ideal as would be displayed natively but even watching 1080p, at least the interpolation algorithm scaling it up can do it evenly. A 2880 x 1800 screen is going to have to do scaling at weird ratios both up and down depending on what content is being watched. So this is thing sticking out to me that may be a negative about this laptop. A model like the Zebnook Pro Duo isn't going to be on display at most electrical retailers but I may be able to find another 16:10 2.8K screen to check out on another model first as I understand these 16:10 screens are becoming more popular.
this will be perfect for virtual assistants who are opening mutiple tabs all at once! it definitely expands the productive capabilities without compromising portability
Thanks for your helpful reviews on this model. Since the refresh rate is adjustable can you please turn it down to 60hz and let us know how much it affects the battery life? I think 4 hours would be ok but 3 is really terrible
i'd say the only problem I have with this model is the inability to make the touch pad turn into a number pad - like the 15 inch variant. and the problem with the 15in version is that it doesn't have an SD card slot. All these efforts look like proof of concepts. I'll wait for the 15in update.

One of the greatest reviews on this laptop if not greatest. But can you tell where did you see ZenBook Pro 16 Duo? I want it badly but I can't find it.
Very long ago i had a Samsung X1 with very good Harman Kardon speakers; they were really silent but had great sound. Going to a MacBook Pro from there I was feeling insulted by the Mac's speakers. I was looking for someone to say something about the audio quality. Niiiice.
120hz is great for creators now, many tv's are 120+ hz, and creating video you want to see what it looks like at 120hz and 120fps, and is especially nice now with AI getting big with AI tools hooked up to blender etc. I.e. I can use AI to upscale and fill in all the extra frames between 60fps and 120fps, and actually watch it and see if it looks good, you need 120hz screen to do that. Also it would be far too expensive for companies to manufacture a 60hz panel when their larger target audience base wants 120hz+, so you're not necessarily paying more for 120hz panel, you're panel more for an OLED panel and they happen to make it at 120hz. Find me any OLED panel that's 60hz that's not crap.
I have the 15.6 in version of this laptop with the i9 processor everything he said is pretty accurate the laptop is a beast it is a behemoth it performs better than your expectations it does run hot and the battery life is not great but you can still take it be portable you can still be mobile with this machine and enjoy it for everything that it is the screen is beautiful it is the best screen of any laptop I've ever had and it's my first OLED so it's better than the TVs I have as well I love this purchase it is a great gift it is a great investment I highly recommend
Have you looked really close and seen the dots everywhere on white or light solid colors. It doesn't look as clear as an oled phone. It's almost pixelated looking.
@@LolsAtLance hey thanks for following up I think the laptop is really settled in and I'm happy with the performance still initially the battery did run hot underneath but I feel like that his changed as long as you give it proper circulation the battery doesn't get overly hot the screen is still beautiful the laptop is still fast I restart regularly and I don't store too much data on the hard drive because I have external hard drives I use it as an extension from my television the Bluetooth in here allows me to use my laptop like my phone so I can cast any screen onto my smart TV and watch movies and TV shows this laptop I use for work photo editing streaming games it's a great laptop and if you haven't bought it already I would definitely buy it again

Hold on! RAM and storage isn’t upgradable? Following Apple trends? The major reason we avoiding Apple products because they aren’t allowing their user to upgrade internal components on our own. So what is the point of this particular window laptop? I was like yeah after a year or two I might upgrade storage and RAM. But now ASUS aren’t allowing me to upgrade. The touch screen overlay sucks though. It makes every solid color look dirty and super pixelated and noisey. You can see thousands of dots everywhere over the screen. Why didn't you or any other reviewer mention this? It does not look as good as other oleds without touch screen. Gaming you don't see it but photo editing and Adobe work it's horrible. Only this damn screen. Buyers please be aware.
Far from perfect nor satisfactory product... I think Asus Zenbook is a very low quality and terrible product. I recently bought the higher spec model (i7-1260P 12th Gen, 16GB RAM), but it turn out that it is a very terrible product. Basically, it cannot handle any slightly heavier task, every time when I open more browsers, using one-note, or copy many files, it will just turn off itself without warning. I am running this with power plugged in and full battery, so it is not related to power, more like something wrong with the processor or RAM. Their technical support also provide useless solution, only reply with unprofessional and irrelevant information. This is very frustrating, I used to support Asus over all these years, but with its quality now dropping so low, I will never buy Asus again!!!
I've been researching because it looked like such a great laptop but I've seen several reviews and comments like yours and how terrible their support is. Sorry it's turned out bad for you thank you for sharing your experience though to help warn others. Hope they refunded you or figured something out to help.
I've had this device for a few days and it seems so slow! When using photoshop the screenpad+ CONSTANTLY turns on and off! I ended up having to return it and get a replacement as it became unusable. The new one is much better, performance when on battery isn't great though. Still lags when both screens are in use and running photoshop, CAD software and gaming but when it's plugged in it is SO much better!

'm looking at the same model but would be happy with the RTX 4050 - no prices on this version as yet
what was running for the battery test? what settings did you use(power modes, display brightness, refreshrate)?
Is it worth it to buy zenbook duo 14 2021 in 2023 or vivobook pro 15 OLED 2022 a better investment
It would be great if you could do Zenbook vs Legion! Amazing video, thanks for sharing your experience!
this will be perfect for virtual assistants who are opening mutiple tabs all at once! it definitely expands the productive capabilities without compromising portability
Intel graphics settings should allow you to adjust saturation and contrast, might help :)
Does the touchpad convert into backlit number pad?
I am planning to for core i9 12th gen model for this laptop... I am a gaming video creator! should i go for it?
Even as a video editor, i find 120hz to be a must.
Thanks for your helpful reviews on this model. Since the refresh rate is adjustable can you please turn it down to 60hz and let us know how much it affects the battery life? I think 4 hours would be ok but 3 is really terrible
Nice lighting
i'd say the only problem I have with this model is the inability to make the touch pad turn into a number pad - like the 15 inch variant. and the problem with the 15in version is that it doesn't have an SD card slot. All these efforts look like proof of concepts. I'll wait for the 15in update.
Very good point, any idea when they might be coming out with the update?
@@nvlabano4079 12-18 month refresh is usually the way Asus works, so hopefully not too long!
Is this for developers and minimal gamers
please try it with an egpu an rtx 3070 or 3080 to see how they behave in endiction and video games it would be a very good video.
Can I just make a pc with only i-gpu for video editing, especially for 4k video editing? Is it still okay if I don't buy dGPU for my PC?. Anyone may explain me please
Dear Elder Brother , please tell me which cpu i should go for game development i9 10th 10850k / i7 10th 10700k (or suggest me something better ). Everybody talks about gaming and gamers but you are the one who stand with developers and creators! :-),please help!
I have a question, the second screen is 120hz? Or only the principal one, can you write or take entire notes like an iPad on the second screen ?
Have you looked really close and seen the dots everywhere on white or light solid colors. It doesn't look as clear as an oled phone. It's almost pixelated looking.
Hey 10 months later, how is it? still running strong, has it broken?
But pro 14 has 120 hz both
would you recommend this for aniamtion?
Is this better than the dell xps15- 17??
Thank you so much for the video and sharing your experience. How do you compare this one with the same asus laptop but with i9 and 3050ti gpu? Not that much of a difference on any points?
Well, dGPU adds quite a lot for this laptop, especially if you're doing 3D or Video editor. + you get more RAM which helps a TON and dedicated Video Memory.
@@theTechNotice thank you for the response. Much appreciated and congratulations to such and amazing and successful channel my man.
@@theTechNotice for eg. you can use it for view 120fps 4k footage in reaal time :). though i would of have liked to see a performance compariosn chart on batter and usb-c power too :))
Great review, very interesting laptop, good job!👍
beware that's a scam don't dm
Hey I got the 15" but my stand doesn't look the same.. mine is one flimsy piece with minimal instructions on how to apply it to the laptop
Thank you for a great review
I'm looking to purchase the Asus ZenBook Pro UX8402ZE. Is this the most recent ZenBook released? Asked in my local Currys/PcWorld and they seem to think that there is a more recent model released! Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks
I am looking on getting a Asus duo, however I’m not very spec savvy, it will be used for investing/studying purposes but I’m unsure what to get out of the UX482EA, UX482EG and then the pro version you are using what would be the best for the longer term as I won’t be upgrading if I buy this for 3-4 years, I think any of them will be over powered for my usage I just fell in love when I seen them
Note the versions you listed are NOT OLED
Is you’re studying definitely the pro oled model not, between these 2 I would chose ux482ea also by the price
i7 H is good for 3D animation and rendering ??
Planning to get one of these bad boys and run an egpu !!!
i just wanted to ask something which isnt related to this video , how will a 5700g performs with 2060/3060 for davinci resolve. Will a 5800x be a better choice or the igpu would help in better encoding decoding
I get 8 hours our of my previous gen asus dio 482…i wish the newer one had better battery life
Amazing review, I feel like you were trying to sell me the notebook and you did it jeje, im thinking about buy it, but 3050ti, 16 gb ram , but also i want cause im gonna play valorant and im not sure that 16 gb ram is enough to this, games and edit video 2k
11:01 how to remove setting bar? Did everyone know?
Check the latest comment bro .
Why is this Asus OLED screen showing a small square (maybe a sub-pixel) when I look closely on display, like 2-3 inches away from the screen? Please let me know if it is normal. Thanks.
Did I get it wrong or the left SHIFT key is quite non-standard?
nice work... i sub you as you doing a good job... i got a firecube530 and the heat sink is so big it winn now fit in my studobookand the 2nd ssd slot seems to be very picky about pluging ssd into it... its constyl give conect and disconects...
can you charge it via type C?
A question, is the charger on this laptop getting too hot?
Hi! Is there usb-c charging off the ports??
Yes up to 100w
thinking of getting this, 1300
Can this laptop be charged w/usb-c?
Does it run Linux / Ubuntu and do all the features work ?
Sir please bring msi high end laptops like msi raider ge 67 hx, titan gt 77 or asus strix scar 17 se, Legion 7i 2022
I think oled one is better choice which is msi raider ge 67 hx and test all premier pro timeline, gaming also.
Please help 😢
I need to know if this behavior is normal or not. Would you tell me if your pc does it?
Just by turning on the PC, these apps are already using 1 GB of RAM. Without doing anything.
Asus DCP Antenna 351.5 MB
AsusScreenXpertReunion 309.5 MB

Okay? Or do I have a virus?
It doesn't matter that you don't have exactly the same model, I just need to know if the consumptions are approximate
Asus ZenBook Duo 14 MODEL: UX8402ZA
Thanks a lot in advance for any help ❤
I bought it but both screens cracked somehow on closing and now i cant use the pen or the touch screen and no I dont have a warranty :/
What !!!! How on earth you did that lol
where u able to sort out screen colours caused by windows update?
I find that when I type it often for example if I type the a it will also type the q closer to it. Is it the way I type or a general issue or evven a setting? (for example I typed even and got evven on here. Would love some reply, find it very irritating.
Also please review Asus ZenBook pro 15 flip oled Intel arc 370M
The processor is suffering that performance dip because it’s handling the bulk of processing as a result of not having a separate graphics card.
Can i use for autocad, revit, sketchup, rendring purpose
Yes I do CAD and music design , don’t get a used one mine was 1400$ used and it doesn’t even hold a charge. At least its i9 2060 2tb .. older model . Kinda a deal?
excellent sir
Can it play crysis?
Good for 4k editing?
He said yes, but you will have to be on performance mode and connected to the brick

Having micro-SD slot is really a dumb idea. If the idea is to save space, then it's better to have none. Who amoung creators use micro-SD card. Even basic cameras don't have it. Maybe compact audio recorders have it. We can always use Thunderbolt dock or something.
Waiting for the rxt4060 review lol
My pen doesn’t work, do you know how can I do with this situation?
is it charged?
Biggest complaint… no Ethernet connection
Well I might need to avoid this brand as well
Thx for the video
120Hz are much more relaxing to you cause your brain only has to work half as much to create fluid motion from pictures my PC Monitor has 165 my Phone 120 I would see it as a drawback if my Notebook had 60 just in general use
From macbook user perspective here: kinda intrigued by the dual display. But I am pretty sure I am going to miss M1 battery superiority, right?
Right
Just buy a good Powerbank as this laptop supports usb-c / thunderbolt charging up to 100w
Does this laptop have Microsoft office word and all that stuff inbuilt?
Nope
Can I build a laptop similar to this by using an old laptop? Would that save me any money?
Is this a serious question?
Did you try linux on this type of notebooks? Anybody?
windows updates always mess everything up
Windows update is almost always a downgrade
Edit. I love the new hinge on this 3rd generation, the second screen is much higher.
Great to have a youtube channel for creator..will be grateful if you give somes suggestions on creator pc builds for budget builder especially for Indians.
Thanks in advance 🙏
I have this exact laptop and use it for editing in davinchi, don't do anymore than 4k footage, upto now no problems with it but I am not a professional by any means

Would you give it away?

The touch screen overlay sucks though. It makes every solid color look dirty and super pixelated and noisey. You can see thousands of dots everywhere over the screen. Why didn't you or any other reviewer mention this? It does not look as good as other oleds without touch screen. Gaming you don't see it but photo editing and Adobe work it's horrible. Why can anyone promote this for creators when the screen has this huge problem? There's no visible touch overlay on my s22 ultra or iphone 13pro max. None on my Samsung oled tablet. Only this damn screen. Buyers please be aware.
good
Far from perfect nor satisfactory product...

Does anyone else find this performance shocking?
i bought this version: ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED UX8402ZA 14.5" 2.8K Touchscreen OLED Laptop (Intel i9-12900H, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050Ti, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Windows 11)
Anyone else finding this?
Did u use in performance mode or silent mode?
hi could u update on what you figured out
I ended up having to return it and get a replacement as it became unusable. The new one is much better, performance when on battery isn't great though. Still lags when both screens are in use and running photoshop, CAD software and gaming but when it's plugged in it is SO much better!
The only reason Im not getting this is because of the poor battety life. only 3 hrs+???
You can change a lot of settings to prolong it like 3 more hours
