    Excellent results in just 4 weeks. Recently did something similar using the same A1 lawnseed with similar results.

    Great video , I seeded my lawn from scratch last year have noticed I have some clover in with a couple of patches and have some thick and thin patches I think I’m due an overseed but would love to see a video from you including the prep for an overseed .

    Great vid again mate! I’ve just used a blanket spray of Weedol for lawns on my front lawn project says can be applied after 2 months if growing well, used it in my back lawn and had brilliant results completely weed free and it’s a once per year treatment

      Garden Lawncare Guy already existing grass, there wasn’t many weeds but had a few clover patches. It took about 2-3 weeks for them to go entirely. But some broadleaf weeds grew all twisted and brown then just disappeared. Great stuff. Just applied it yesterday to my 3 month old front lawn I’ll send you a photo of it on facebook 👍🏻

    Looking good and very relevant timing to me as my overseeding project is just coming up to 4 weeks in. I need to get braver with my mowing as only done first cut on highest setting (same mower as yours!)

    • @GardenLawncareGuy
      @GardenLawncareGuy  4 роки тому

      Check you blade too, i put a new one on a few weeks ago and the cut quality is great especially for the new seed. Did you go for the second battery or 1?

    • @tommyd3575
      @tommyd3575 4 роки тому

      @@GardenLawncareGuy will do, the mower is new this season so blade should be OK I hope! I went for the two batteries, as I also purchased the strimmer and hedge cutters which are also amazing and totally transformed the joy of gardening without power cords! With regular mowing I can get front and back lawns done on one battery with the wind behind me lol!

      I know exactly what you mean, I used to hate mowing my lawn with my old hover mower. I actually started the channel because i got the bosch and started making lawncare enjoyable for me. Would love some other bits in the range, might take a look!

      @@GardenLawncareGuy haha yes I came from the hover mower too! It wrecked my lawn because I couldnt be bothered mowing regularly, and then the weeds and moss took control. Hence the over seeding project this year to get my lawn back 😂😂😂

      Tommy D hovers are good for your average homeowners though. I cringe when I see my neighbours dragging a normal mower across the lawn like a hover, ripping it to shreds and missing loads of spots 😂😂

      @@GardenLawncareGuy Mine took about 6 weeks, that was even with germination sheets on it to help the soil stay warm. You still must be pleased with that though, looks amazing. Mines already losing the deep green so I've got some iron sulphate to put on it soon :) never ending these things. Worth it when neighbour's walk passed and say how nice it looks.

    Mr Gardencare Guy -- I was sooooo wanting to get your advice on how to kill weeds in a newly seeded lawn. But you didn't say what it is -- in your video and the link said it was bombed. Did you offer up some bad tips? Or what? What can I use for cool season grass & weed control and suppressant in the fall (October)? I always hear Tenacity but is there something as good but less expensive? I have a 5 week old lawn and clover bursting out in the bad areas from before reseeding, but I don't get it. I did a rip-roaring method using a power rake for all of it (Sun Joe DeThatch & Scarifier). I know next time to just tear up the lawn with the Sun Joe "power rake"/dethatcher" and it will give my lawn the best advantage. The other half of my lawn I used a of Glyphosate and it killed off the good the bad and the ugly. But I am now stumped. Any product suggestions for nitrogen, a pre&post emergent and anything else that would benefit this small yard (I am a renter) and give me something other than weeds in the Spring. What ever you suggest that has worked for you would be great, if it doesn't for my situation then no harm no foul, but I would like to try something! I appreciate what you will provide Mr Lawncare Guy...you must have secured that "name" before the millennials of 2020 (Covid) began their channels...and they got creative but are focused on Golf Course Grass not the regular stuff -- but a good stripe is sweet !

  • @tyronwilliams9163

    I treated my lawn in spring with weedol and had great results with daisies and got rid of most of the clover. When Summer hit i've noticed a surge of creeping buttercups leafs in some area's but on the box it says only use weedol once per year ? Now Miracle grow 4 in 1 also has the MCPA ingredient, should I put this down instead.

    • @tyronwilliams9163

      Probably due to the fact I was watering a lot when we have the good weather and the fact I know the drainage isn't great and I should really core aerate if I can find a hire place with a machine.

    I wouldn't recommend overseeing at this time of year would you? Autumn is much better less weed seeds etc. More advanced videos on soil condition and disease especially with such a wet summer would be much appreciated.

      No I agree its not the best time of year to be seeding, the videos are a little behind the actual time but that was part of the 4 week lawn rennovation series when we seeded at the end of spring. Thanks, ill note that down chris

      Thanks mate, what conditions to you have? Any shade? Flooding / waterlogging? and is it a utility lawn (kids etc) or more low traffic? Generally fescues will give you a more fine appearance and ornamental look than rye but can be less hardwaring. My rye lawn stripes very well though. I've used Premiership pro on the front which is hardwearing rye used in sport stadiums amzn.to/3hdjRsq. You could also take a look at their fescue or shaded blends depending on your requirements

      I debating on this, I know the seed will take a range of cuts but I'm on the verge of buying a cylinder mower. I think it could be more interesting for the channel if i leave one garden tall 40-50mm and the other short 15-25mm. I actually like the longer grass because it stripes very well with the bosch but if i got the cylinder I'd be able to go low too. Hmmm

    • @movingforward1981
      @movingforward1981 4 роки тому

      Garden Lawncare Guy - that would be great to watch the challenges of both, the front will need cutting twice a week at that short cut compared to the back. Be interesting though :-)

      amzn.to/3boQvTK I use this. I personally love it and one of the reasons i started the channel as I started to enjoy mowing when I bought it. No chords, lightweight, very low maintenance and easy to use with a rear roller for stripes. Ive had for 3 years and appart from 3 blade changes its as good as new. If I wanted to up it another level you could consider a cylinder mower or a mower that sits on its roller and not rear wheels for even better stripes
