- An epic first 24 hours with @VisitQatar in today's video!
We didn't anticipate heading back to the airport so soon after getting home from eight months of full-time travel, but once we parked the car and headed into the Salt Lake International Airport it just felt right! After a quick flight to Seattle we boarded our 14 hour flight to Doha, Qatar! Hamad International Airport is one of the biggest and most beautiful airports we have ever seen. Exhausted after our flight, we hopped in our Uber and headed to the St Regis Doha where we checked into the most luxurious hotel room! The next morning we hit the ground running to maximize our time here in Qatar! On our way out to the western coast we stopped to see one of the favorite local pastimes...camel racing! These camels have small robots on their backs instead of jockeys that their owners communicate through. Quite the sight to see! After continuing west we stopped at the epic piece of modern art by Richard Serra called East-West/West-East, consisting of 4 massive pieces of steel embedded into the desert landscape. It's quite an alien sight to behold. We went off-road out to the Arabian Sea, then headed back into the capitol city Doha to explore the markets. Souq Waqif is the largest, traditional Qatari market smack in the middle of the city. We saw falcons, camels, restaurants, clothing and a big golden thumb! We can't wait for our next couple days here in Qatar!

My longest flights have been from Cincinnati to Amsterdam and the return trips - it’s about 11 hours and seemed to last forever!

I flew from San Francisco, CA to Tel Aviv, Israel it was about 15 or 16 hours. I slept a lot. I also watched were we were on the map on the screen in front of me on the seat back. It was not terrible but I was glad when I got to get off the airplane. I’m heading to Greece and Turkey this summer and I think it’s about along. Love to talk!

20 hours because it was from Africa with a non get off stop in Dublin where they switched some passengers and cleaned the plane, did our customs on the plane and then off we went 1 hour later lol. Other than that, 14 hours to Australia is my other longest.
Wow just started but -oooohhhh would i love to hear how this trip came about.
Great video! Loved seeing all the stops on your first day. I know you may already be planning a food video for Qatar but I’d would have loved to see the plane food, room service and breakfast mentioned in the video as an avid traveler, foodie and who is just curious! Food is culture!

I just did Australia to Doha flight that was 14 hrs (2 hr stopover) and then another 8 to the UK
Wow!
My longest flight was from Washington to Japan 9.5 hours, had about a 15 minute layover and had another 2.5 hours from Japan to South Korea
14 hour flight to China from Indiana was my longest flight.
How long is flight to Australia?? I thought that was up there w the longest- im in CA though 🤷🏼♀️
Brisbane Australia to Toronto is 19 hours 55 minutes it's seems like a life time
Wow!
It was 17 hours and some change from LAX to Singapore for my son and daughter in laws trip to Thailand! Longest for me is 7hrs. Still too long. Haha
I thought you were going to stay and wait for Madies return
The camels at the racetrack look extremely thin. Is it a special breed or very young?
My longest flight from Dayton, Ohio to London. The first time I ever flew!
How bizarre our world would seem to an explorer, even as recently as 100 years ago. From the snow of Utah to the desert of the Middle East in less than a day. My longest ever was JFK to Tokyo Narita, 14:30 flight time.
It’s pretty amazing!
My longest flight was from NY to China. That 14 hour journey.
Are you on the road again ? I''ve followed you since you began and don't know what is going on....
Can you see Yemen from there and the pain the US is causing there? 😬. Love that ypu can do these trips for us and benefit from the channel. 🙌🏽
(PS i respect the fact that you stay out of controversial topics and politics…. I just cant help it cuz im a nut about geopolitical stuff)
It’s like the Kentucky Derby but with camels 😂
❤❤❤
My longest flight was Frankfurt to Chicago, about 9 hours
Heat sand wind and rusty pillars! I don't think so!
The longest flight I ever took was from American to Ireland
Kuwait next 🇰🇼
My longest flight was JFK to France to transfer to Italy
These cities are beautiful
I am happy the country paid for you to travel there
Did you have two escorts in the car
The ending was beautiful, it looked like you were standing in New Jersey looking over at Manhattan
I cannot wait for the next two days
Boy have you expanded my horizons! Many of these places are like cities with sky scrapers, and malls, etc., as well as the desert that I expected. The modern aspect for some reason surprised me. I also have always heard camels are mean and they spit at you. Seems not so??
Wow what a beautiful country Qatar is....enjoy & stay safe & have fun.❤
Looks like you two got bit by the travel bug
When I deployed to Afghanistan, we made a stop in Qatar. Stepped out the plane and it was like a blow dryer on my face. Crazy hot there!
Hi
What’s with the gold thumb🤷♀️
those look like alien artifacts just make sure to get louie dog treats and what really again
Hope u got a good deal! Quatar has a TON of US leaders in their pocket. 👀 🥴🧐
I had a window seat with no window once. Rip off lol
Seriously 😂
Those poor camels look abused😢
Qatar has a horrible record of human rights abuses - being gay is punishable by death, for example. And women are 2nd class citizens. Slavery wasn’t abolished until the 1950’s. Do better.
Yeah that’s exactly what I was thinking. I think they’re homophobic though anyway so idk 🤷♀️
It looks beautiful but I would never visit because of human rights abuses & how they treat woman & the punishment of death for someone who is gay....😢😢
Beautiful country but not for me...
Well HUMBUG. I thought I won the guess- that you were hanging with your Binghams in the new house. I lost!🫠🤪🫣
