Come on people…..let’s get Daniel and Michelle to 100k. These two are some of the greatest humans and pretty darn good travel guides. You will not regret following them. Their vlogs have brought tears on many occasions….they are just that good! Thank-you Daniel and Michelle. Another great country. ❤️
You're spot on about Cairo. I went the month before their revolution and the tensions were high. We had a private guide and we appreciated it. But there was a constant level of distrust that we had toward the Egyptian people simply because of their intense aggressiveness to buyers, and tourists. I've typically made local friends in every place I've traveled. Cairo was not one. Is it unsafe? Is it safe? Every hotel has metal detectors for a reason. That felt like a billboard to me for us to go nowhere without our guide. I have recommended friends to go when they insist that they want to, but I equip them with wisdom. I never want to go back and I want to travel back to many places I've been to. Jordan and Turkey have a MUCH BETTER vibe to them. Be safe if you go, and listen to Dan and Chelle. I'm not a jerk traveler so please be kind to me if you're going to comment. I've gone 18 hours backwoods in Haiti with no electricity, running water, medical care, etc and it felt 1000×s safer. Much love. Travel, enjoy, stay aware.
I’m interested in going to Egypt but the stories I have heard kind of scare me. I do a lot of solo travel but I’m considering a small group if I do Egypt.
In Hurghada the guide seemed to know everyone, so we were left in peace to stroll around the Marina, shops, restaurants and mosque. In Cairo, the guide there was in cahoots with just about everyone. Before and after the pyramids he was falling over himself trying to get us to buy souvenirs, get onto camels and have our photographs taken by random people. We ended up paying for a horse and buggy ride we never asked for, then he wanted a tip for himself and the driver at the end, even though we'd already paid. Also, guess who I tipped the most? It was the guy who worked hardest - the one who did my hotel room so nicely every day. I was happy to tip him because he was a nice guy and never once made a nuisance of himself.
As an Egyptian, Living in the US. Every time I went back home (Egypt) I’ve never had a single issue with my camera. If I had to leave it out of a certain area, I left it and I always got it back. But it’s true vendors are a problem. They are pushy, I just tell them to leave me alone and they do. Just don’t Smile at them, because your leaving the door open. But Egypt, is a beautiful experience!
Despite all of the hurdles you had to jump with the cameras/microphone issues I will have to say that you rocked it all! You reacted and overcame the obstacles flawlessly! I’m so impressed! Way to go! The voice overs may not have been ideal or out of the norm for you but it worked and it was great! ❤️ love you both! ❤️
I love the honesty! I faced aggressive people in Paris, thank goodness I was with my Dutch sister, she had warned me. I had a guy grab my hand and started making a bracelet on my wrist before I even realized what he was doing! I am telling all my peeps to subscribe, y’all should be at 500k in my opinion ❤
Thank you for sharing the biblical portion of your video. I was so glad you shared the behind the scenes of Egypt. I have been on vacation and watched this after I got back. I was visiting Salt Lake City, Provo, Beaver, etc……in your area. The snow on the mountains was absolutely beautiful.
Wish I had seen this before going to Egypt in September! It is so true about the vendors....they eventually had me in tears demanding money which I didn't have. We were on a cruise excursion to Cairo and on all 5 buses from Alexandria we had an armed guard on board, and they came on our walking tour, and to the pyramids. I eventually had to ask the armed guard to get the last man to leave me alone. He did, but we were advised to go straight to our bus. Even on our trip to El-Alamein, we were escorted by an armed guard. Been there, never again!!
I went to Egypt in April 2022, everything you commented on was correct... just say "no thank you" and def no eye contact. I had a local on day one at the pyramids that offered to take my picture, with my camera, and I said sure. He did and I gave him a tip, he did not feel it was enough and followed me for a few minutes as I walked away, telling me he wants more. Yikes! I met up with my group and only then did he back down. I, from that point on did not speak to the vendors, unless I wanted to buy something. That being said it was the most AMAZING freekin trip ! Everyday was more amazing than the day before. It was a lifetime experience that took me months to come down from. My suggestion is GO GO GO!! IT WAS STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL! 99% of the Egyptians I encounter were very pleasant.
@@Ash-so7uh yes, it was a 9 day trip. Cairo, Luxor and Edfu. I booked with Exoticca Tours. I was traveling solo, but was with a group of about 20 people. So never alone or lonely. Exoticca was amazing, all transportation, airfare with Turkish Airways , entrance fees at temples were all taken care of. It also included a 3 night cruise up the Nile river. It was stupidly amazing. I highly recommend them. And while in Luxor if they offer a sunrise not air balloon ride over the valley of the kings, do not hesitate, go go go!
Oh boy,.....when you two say epic, I know something fantastic is coming up! Can't wait. I found your tutorial on traveling in Egypt very interesting, and super of you to share for those who may be headed there. I wondered how safe you felt there as I felt it is somehow a bit sketchy far as safety as a tourist. Great video as always.....and I see Daniel you got a shave and haircut there!! Looking good!
OMG!!!!! Just love mama Bingham!!!! I was crying because I miss my mom. It’s been about 3 months since I saw mine and I miss her so much. Praying for you guys to get to 100k!!!! Let’s go!!!!

This video was definitely a good idea for people traveling to Egypt. I haven't been to Egypt but have been to Tunisia a few times and we had similar troubles there with the vendors and not being able to get away from them easily. It was also not particularly safe in some places, or so we were told by our tour company. But otherwise we absolutely loved it there, beautiful place and people. Anyway can't wait to see what you're getting up to next 😍
My daughter and I travelled to Hurgarda in 2014, we had an amazing time. We just relaxed at the pool or beach for the majority of our stay. We travelled out to the Gifton Islands a very nice place to snorkel. What I will say is that you need to have a visa to travel to Hurghada. Staff and luggage guys at the airport were very loud and looked aggressive, this did make me think did we do the right thing coming to an arabic language speaking country without my husband who is Tunisian. For me knowing some Arabic helped. I would go back but to the same hotel we stayed at. Staff there were great. Will you be going to Tunisia? If so you cannot take drones unless you have completed the relevant paperwork. If you go, please visit Dous, Kebili, Tozeur and Nefta. My husband is from Djerba and island off of the mainland. Learn some basic Arabic or shall I say Darja language. I pray you get to 100k subscribers very soon. Love you guys love Veronica from the UK 🇬🇧
Thank you for this! taking it all to heart for my upcoming Middle East trip. Especially appreciate the tipping guidelines. And voiceover is just fine for your beautiful photography. Thanks again
We have been self-driving around Egypt for 3 weeks and have not had a guide. We have rarely tipped, apart from things you would normally tip for, like restaurants. Indeed we have had people refusing tips for things like photocopying in a hotel. We were caught speeding but the police then let us off with no tip of ticket. There are many scans going on and sales people are oppressive but when you turn up in your own car they are quite surprised and it takes them off guard. It has been an incredible experience, sometimes a little scary especially when trying to navigate the crowds at Aswan at night but the police helped us out. What we did is a little excessive and definitely not for everyone but maybe but to get a guide 24/7 is excessive too as you will never fully live the experience for yourself. We have seen people with guides and it is a factory.
Ok people! Lift up your wiggly fingers and HIT that subscribe button and let’s get Dan and Chelle over the top!! You will NOT be sorry. Their videos and photos are above and beyond the amazing!! You pretty much are guaranteed a good giggle daily thanks to Chelle too!! We love you guys!!! Continue to be safe!! ☺️❤️
You guys are spot on with all of these!!!!! We went to Egypt about 7 years ago. We were visiting Dubai and flew over to 2 days and that was enough. Lol and Also, spot on with the tour guide. We literally only left our tour guide when we were in our hotel.
I have been subscribed since Episode 1 🎉 Also can’t imagine why people wouldn’t want to subscribe and be a part of your journey!! Love your vlogs and love you guys! ❤
I subscribed to you ages ago and love all your videos, really hope you reach 100k as you deserve it so much. I havent been or plan to go to Egypt but giving an honest review is really helpful to future travellers, especially to make their time there more enjoyable, less troublesome and safer - so lots of praise to you both. I think you did a great job as I only picked up about the drone and the microphone, due to what you said and how you had to do the voice over. There was so much smog, incredible seeing how bad it was. Love the shave Daniel, cant wait for your next adventure guys xx
As someone whose favorite thing to do is travel (59 countries so far on the way to 100) I think I'm going to have to skip Egypt due to some of the things mentioned in this video. I already get annoyed or pissed off easily and hate unfair treatment so the Egyptians would have me infuriated constantly. Between their stupid rules about cameras & mikes to the constant badgering for tips to the hyper aggressive vendors, my blood would be boiling. I speak my mind and I'd let them have it. I'd be yelling NO a lot. I'm a large guy and if they want to fight me over it they're welcome to try. I could see ending up in jail if things escalate. But if I bite my tongue I'd just end up being even more miserable. So despite wanting to see Egypt for its history, it's probably best if I avoid it. I'll go to countries where I like the people and can actually enjoy myself.

My husband is Egyptian and he’s struggling to say no, 😂. Don’t stick in Cairo, move around Egypt, indeed it is a beautiful country. New subscriber here. ❤
Been subscribed since day 1! Usually I watch THIWB first but Dan and Chelle have taken first place☺️. I still love THIWB and watch them everyday. Love you guys!
This was funny - many things are as you describe ... and many not quite. But I live here as an European since a number of years and know my way. The one thing though I couldn't help but laugh: *The toilet paper* 🤣🤣. What we "clean" Europeans and Americans don't understand is the fact that everyone in Egypt and other Arab countries *WASHES* after having urinated or defecated and then just needs 2 or 3 squares to dry. They can't understand - and neither can I to be honest coz of my education at home - how one can use the toilet and not wash afterwards. 🙈.

As Egyptian I wish you didn't have to experience that you guys are lovely, but the one with the convince stores BLOW MY MIND!! just get thick skin as you said and never tip them if they don't allow you to grab your stuff just leave the place and they will ask you to come back easily, also another tip for the prices specially for the water the most expensive bottle like the big one 1.5l from a convince store should be 10 pounds at most. Also for the toilet paper we use "Shatafa" that's why at most places you won't find toilet papers :') sorry. Also if you think that the person doesn't deserve a tip just don't leave it to give him the least amount of money as you said a 5 pounds and just leave the place without saying anything as some places will over charge you for what you bought!.
You are being very kind and respectful. The hawking and scam are becoming too much even for the locals but multiple that 1000 times for foreigners. It is no excuse but it is a tough time for most Egyptians financially especially when we have to host ten million refugees or 10% of Egyptian populations, from neighboring countries that their country were totally destroyed some some people can get cheap oil
as someone who has lived america my whole life but is not white it was a bad time going egypt however camping and outside part egypt was better cairo was horrible
I really enjoyed your video! I am going with a tour to Egypt in June (yes it will be really hot), did you have to get any vaccines before you went?(besides CoVid), were you concerned about drinking the water, should I take a water purifier? Thank you
Ok I’m catching up on vlogs and wow I actually said previously I’m going to Egypt next may with my husband and two children this helped I now know carry small amounts of cash for tips and be aware etc I’m a little nervous but excited at the same time. X
I just noticed ya'll were so close to 100,000! I have been subscribed for a long time! Ya'll will hopefully make it before the end of the year! I didn't realize there was so much smog in Egypt, I would have never thought that. Wow, I would struggle there! I smile at people all the time, kids would be my weak point too. This information is great for those that are going to that area! I don't think it's for me but it's a beautiful place for sure!
Happy Wednesday I hope you’re both having a blessed Wednesday and an amazing day and I hope you’re enjoying your trip in Egypt. I love watching your videos. You’re the sweetest kindest couple ever and I love your dog.🐶🐶💯💯🆒🆒😎😎🤩🤩💙💙❤️❤️❤️🤍🤍
My sister just married a Egyptian, what you're saying is right on the money from her response to this video, this applies to other 3rd world countries.
Hello!! I’d like to throw this out to you … I would love to see you travel to different places in the US. I will never be able to get out of the US but am very interested as to where to go and what places to see and things to do that’s in my own country. I do love watching most of your videos though.
I found your video hilarious,, you are absolutely right about everything but being used to traveling to egypt I thought that this culture is well known,, it made me laugh a lot how you got shocked 😂
Come on everyone ,join forces and subscribe, you won't regret it. I've enjoyed being able to see places that I know I'll never get to see .So thank you.
That is not asking for a tip, it's begging. They are constantly begging, even at the airport there is a graphic sign warning you not to tip, and the porters keep asking for it! And those who come with that attitude of "poor people" we have to tip them only contribute to perpetuating the situation of chronic begging
We lived in the Middle East for the past 3 years. We only ever traveled with our phones because "media" scares the leadership in the country and they see it as a possible threat to overthrow or expose something. Its just cultural norm. This was also common in Africa and places like India, Sri Lanka and parts of Asia. The tipping everyone part is true as well. We LOVED Egypt, but we have also traveled a ton and lived on 3 different continents, but if someone was new to traveling, Egypt could be a very nerve wracking visit. I would also encourage people to NOT travel in Egypt on a group trip and to hire private guides only. Big groups are often targeted by beggers, etc. over the small one on one guides.

Here some wisdom: don’t go to Egypt. First look on UA-cam how tourists are treated, there are thousands of videos on UA-cam. Ask UA-cam for Egyptian scammers, beggars, touts, pickpockets, liars and perverts. After you have done that than ask yourself the question if it is worth your time and money. And if you’re lucky you will Be only scammed, touted, harassed and picketed, but if youre unlucky you will be rap(e)d, getting rabies, food poisoning and hepatitis B & C
In China is similar in terms of vendor trying to buy you stuff that you have to buy cheaper if possible. Also, watch out for pig picketer. Can’t have anything sticking out. Do recommend going there. Know some Chinese so able to speak to the locals.

I wished you would have shared your secret regarding getting stacks of 5 pound Egyptian notes. I tried all over and was always declined. I found that many places didn't have change for ever 100 notes. So how did you do it?
I think some of your experiences in Egypt can also happen in France…especially tge south of France…..Avignon was loaded with iffy experiences, but still worth visiting.

Where do you acquire all the low denomination cash that you need for tipping?
It makes me sad that you had to experience those things in Egypt. I hope you get a better experience in your next visit .
And maybe try to visit Alexandria next time!
I'm Egyptian, and I live there currently.

I’ve had the same experience with the vendors in Turkey when on vacation! It’s sad when you have to avoid eye contact 🙁
China is MUCH worse with the whole vendor thing trying to sell you stuff. Egypt was pretty mild for me in that regard.
It is no excuse but it is a tough time for most Egyptians financially especially when we have to host ten million refugees or 10% of Egyptian populations, from neighboring countries that their country were totally destroyed some some people can get cheap oil
thanks for this video i'm heading to egypt in 5 weeks. i will definitely add toilet paper and small currency to my list of must haves.....
Yes get those small bills!
as someone who has lived america my whole life but is not white it was a bad time going egypt however camping and outside part egypt was better cairo was horrible
It’ll be great!!
Are you guys planning to go home for the holidays?? Love you guys!!!!
DAN AND CHELLE IS THE BEST
I think that showing more of the sites would be more interesting, particularly to some on who has visited.

Been subscribed from the beginning!
Thank you!!
Awesome video I really like it lot it was cool and you made awesome video
I have watched other UA-cam channels and they had the same issues in Egypt.
I hope you guys come back to Egypt again and visit Alexandria, Siwa oasis and Dahab, these three cities are way more beautiful than Cairo.
Did you exchange USD for EGP in American or in Egypt?
I found your video hilarious,, you are absolutely right about everything but being used to traveling to egypt I thought that this culture is well known,, it made me laugh a lot how you got shocked 😂
total nicredible content~mate- 🤩
Where did she get her sandals??? Those look so cute and COMFORTABLE.
I have done almost everything you did in Egypt.
Come on everyone ,join forces and subscribe, you won't regret it. I've enjoyed being able to see places that I know I'll never get to see .So thank you.
Hi , where did u find a local egypt guide? please can u recommend us? thanks
Visiting in december 2023. Curious tho ..is it safe for a solo female cause i am alone.
Definitely look into having a guide take you around!
I am shocked they allow the windows to open so far that high, considering most hotels block how far a window will open if at all.
That is not asking for a tip, it's begging. They are constantly begging, even at the airport there is a graphic sign warning you not to tip, and the porters keep asking for it! And those who come with that attitude of "poor people" we have to tip them only contribute to perpetuating the situation of chronic begging
I have now been to Egypt twice this year. LOL Once with What the Hale$ and now once with you two. LOL
Strange question & I never do this but your eyelashes are so pretty! Are they extensions? or how are they that long and pretty?! Omg 😳 I need them lol
Even as an Egyptian I struggle with those kinds of people. It's really annoying and stressful
Always do your research first before going anywhere. I've heard Kenya doesn't like cameras either, and probably a lot of other countries as well.
Danandchell WHEN DO YALL THINK YALL GOING TO TAKE A VISIT BACK HOME????

100k Let’s gooooooo
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Do you have any hotels and tour guides that you would recommend?
Here some wisdom: don’t go to Egypt.
First look on UA-cam how tourists are treated, there are thousands of videos on UA-cam.
Ask UA-cam for Egyptian scammers, beggars, touts, pickpockets, liars and perverts.
After you have done that than ask yourself the question if it is worth your time and money.
And if you’re lucky you will Be only scammed, touted, harassed and picketed, but if youre unlucky you will be rap(e)d, getting rabies, food poisoning and hepatitis B & C
Thank you for the feedback. Would you please add Arabic subtitles for this video.
Where or how can you find a local guide in Egypt?
In China is similar in terms of vendor trying to buy you stuff that you have to buy cheaper if possible. Also, watch out for pig picketer. Can’t have anything sticking out. Do recommend going there. Know some Chinese so able to speak to the locals.

I wished you would have shared your secret regarding getting stacks of 5 pound Egyptian notes. I tried all over and was always declined. I found that many places didn't have change for ever 100 notes. So how did you do it?
Still waiting for a calendar of those scenic views. Please.
Would you say the camera thing is as difficult with something like a gopro?
The smaller the camera the easier it'd be for sure!
I think some of your experiences in Egypt can also happen in France…especially tge south of France…..Avignon was loaded with iffy experiences, but still worth visiting.
Less talking, more touring. One could do this content without leaving the living room. Wishing Anthony Bourdain hadn’t got depressed.
