While vacationing in Chicago, I used Uber from the O'Hara airport to downtown Chicago. The driver asked about our plans and gave several great recommendations on sites to see, places to eat, and experiences to have while in Chicago. The tip was about 50% on top of the initial cost. I always tip -- I know if you are an Uber driver you deserve more than I can afford. So I give more than expected. THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY LIFE EASIER!
I get way more tips on most rides. Music, clean car, great conversation and good driving. I curate playlists and when the passenger is coming I switch music depending on how I see them and 90% I don’t miss. The minute they start singing along I know that’s a tip. But being a great listener and asking follow up questions has paid me a lot.
Levi how high does your AR have to be in order to see reservations? We drive the same market and when I turn on uber x my reservation tab always tells me there isn’t any
@Rideshare-Lisa I don't think the AR matters mine is 15% and I do its reservations just make sure you keep you location on all the time during the whole day and also pay attention the way you drive
I don't believe that EVERY passenger will tip. Some simply don't have the money and cannot afford to. Tips are not required but appreciated by me. I do believe that you can maximize your tips by continuing to provide great service and doing the things your discussed in your video.
I got priority trips for a long time. I’m not sure why they separated it out. My guess is it’s similar to reservations from a pricing mechanism but I really don’t know.
Picked up a lady at the courthouse. She texted while I was on the way that she was running late, could I wait? I was listening to a good podcast and against my normal inclination, I said yes. "Great, I'll give you a good tip." 🙄 Great, that means I'm probably not getting a tip. Ended up waiting 43 minutes!!! The longer I waited, the more I felt like I was committed. Uber paid $0.27 per minute 🙄. Ride was 10 minutes. She did tip from the app and asked if I got it. I said, "Uber needs to process your card before telling me, so it may be a few minutes." No tip for a couple hours. Then $35 finally showed up. So I got $55 for a 50 minute ride. 🎉
great advice as usual on tips!
Thank you! ❤️

I sincerely don’t know. I’ve called and asked and they don’t have an answer.
My AR is 50% right now.
Mine is 8% and has been since upfront pricing. I use to be platinum until then. Uber makes it so easy to hit the decline button!! 😂😂

Exactly! Trips are a tip opportunity.
Can you give your input on the new UberX Priority?

That's awesome! I get anxious when passengers promise a tip, but when the tip comes through I'm elated! ❤️
