Usually feijoada is not that much expensive, but it seems like this a kind of fancy restaurant with a feijoada “gourmet”, which is more elaborate. You’ll notice in Brazil that rice and beans are often present in meals and brazilians like to eat them together, like putting the beans on top of the rice.

Please go have dinner at a restaurant at Bahia Marina Called Soho, Its actually a japanese restaurant but “brazilian japanese food”, especially here in Salvador is a lot different, try a dish called Sereia Maki, it is by the ocean, the floor is made of glass so you can see the rocks under your table :)
Another thing is, if you have the chance, go to praia do forte, is a smaller village at the litoral, about 30 minutes away from Salvador that has a unique project to protect marine life, you can visit them and see the turtles, sharks, fishes, and you have to taste our bolinho de bacalhau at SOUZA a restaurant there in Praia do Forte :)

A wise suggestion for you guys would be to ask your channel audience for local people to be free tour guides; they will show you the best places to go (people who speak minimal english). They will show you good places to stay and eat well and cheaply. Brazilian hospitality (legendary) is unparalleled in the world, Brazilians are known for having open arms to receive foreigners, including for stays in their own homes. The poorer a person is, the more hospitable he will be, even the rich do it (but not so much). Brazilians in general would love to guide you (for free) on a tour of their cities.

You will find feijoada almost everywhere you go, it helps a lot when you have some reference. In São Paulo there are many places that you can pay 45 reais for two people and eat an incredible feijoada.
    Some things about the dish:
    - It's heavy, we like it heavy. On Wednesdays we eat that for lunch and yes, it's hard to work after lol
    - It's salty, if it's out of salt, they're doing it wrong
    - Black beans, always. Meats can vary from place to place, the most traditional have many parts of the pork, but many people prefer only with two more basic types of meat (sausage and jabá)
    - Usually in São Paulo they serve the dish with some sort of braised kale, banana and after you eat the whole dish you have half peeled orange
were you eat directly from the fruit
    - You can find individual dishes, but usually you have to prepare them in large quantities, it is common for people to divide the portion into 2 or 3 people.
Maybe you can try in different places, they can be very different.
Hope it helps, love your videos

When traveling to other Brazilian cities like Salvador, belo horizonte, Florianopolis, curitiba.... any city actually, you could try to find a "boteco" that sells food (it's usually a place for cheap drinks but the ones that dont sell food are frequented by drunkards), they usually sell cheap typical Brazilian food that you could describe as "soulfood". "Rodizio" and "self-service" (like a buffet) are pretty good too, cheap but usually with great food and you can taste lots of different dishes. In those places you can order a "prato feito" (or PF) it's like the day's special, usually very full with lots of food and very cheap.
I'm just saying this because it really seems, by your videos, that you two are living on caipirinhas and snacks, you aren't really enjoying our wonderful cuisine, and all of the options I mentioned are usually cheaper than eating just snacks like coxinha.
We Brazilians usually have lunch and dinner with bean and rice, but you still should try it, there's many fulfilling dishes that you can eat without rice and beans or just with rice, like "vaca atolada", "baião de dois", "bobó de camarao", "moqueca de peixe", "panqueca", "chuleta", "escondidinho", "galinhada", "frango com quiabo", "arroz carreteiro", "feijão tropeiro", "sarapatel", "mocoto", "feijao de corda", "buchada", "jaba", the good old "feijoada", all our different "caldos", all our different cuts of meat grilled or "churrasco"....... there's so much more than coxinha, pao de queijo and acai, brazil is huge, every state has their preferences, but there's so, so much more than snacks.
Btw, I'm commenting this in every video of yours until you notice it.

Feijoado is a cheap dish when you buy the ingredients and made by yourself to your family. But, when you are in a traditional restaurant it will be more expansive. And you have to considerate that we are in the middle of a pandemy, the restaurants are struggling to keep open and here in Brasil we are living an economic issue, our money are very devalued (Is good for you guys who have dollars, but its terrible for us). The meat price is the highest in decades, we are paying almost 50R$ for Kg of meat, so, dishes who have meat in it are the double of the price in restaurants.
