Feijoada!!!
Try drink Guaraná Antarctica.
Trust me you should go to a Brazilian Steakhouse known in Brazilian Portuguese as *CHURRASCARIA RODIZIO* , you can go to any of the following restaurants and I guarantee you will like it *1- Fogo de Chão* , *2- NB Steak* , *3-Boizão Grill* , *4- Novilho de Prata* , *5-Vento Haragano* , *6-Barbacoa* , they are all all you can eat and have dozens of local unique cuts of meat.

That's right, we dont touch food so the paper doesn't absorb much of the sauce, fat,etc
Nossa, eu nunca soube disso!
@@joelfmds Verdade...

The napkins are for holding your food so you don’t get your food dirt by your hands
also so your hands don't get all greasy.
Yep.. but they use this kind of napkins because it's cheaper
@@RicardoPiccini yeah, that's true, but she's saying how they use it since its a bad napkin. The food they are eating is really cheap, so you'll find that type of napkin in these restaurants. You should definitely wash your hands after eating
@@bianca3362 before too.. Kkkk
Most Brazilians don’t touch their food with their bare hands. Those napkins that look like waxed paper are used to hold the food, so that your hands don’t get greasy and the food don’t get contaminated by your dirty hands. 😜Those napkins are not absorbent and are not made to clean your hands.

Hey Lindsey! Thanks for your good vibe! Sao Paulo, is not one touristic city here... You guys should try to go to Paraty or Ilha Grande in Rio de Janeiro, all the north coast of Sao Paulo State and South of Rio de Janeiro state! It is beautiful! There you guys will have a glimpse of what our nature is about, not Sao Paulo! Our city is a concrete jungle... hahaha XD
@@viniciusra9584 we can’t wait to see the other parts of Brazil. Next is rio then paraty ... and then to Salvador and the north then amazon and then south!! So much to do
You should not leave Sao Paulo without trying our hot dog, sushi and pizza are the best. Feijoada and barbecue are also more you will find in Rio, but if you plan to go to the South of Brazil, leave to try the barbecue there.
I'm Brazilian, you must have noticed that Brazilians don't touch food, we always use napkins or cutlery. This napkin that you showed is specially made to take these types of food that you showed in the video (coxinha, salgado...). These napkins are better for handling food. Kisses from Brasília ♥️
Yes Geovanna i believe its called manners, u guys def have them some dont.
exactly!
That's interesting
That's right, the napkin is little silky/waxy I would say, so the grease will not cause the napkin to disintegrate in your hands, sort of. I'm Brazilian and live in the US and I understand why foreigners complain about our napkins.
That waxed paper is used in Peru for wrapping sandwiches, but not for Napkins. Most of the World do not have those kind of Napkin so it is fully understandable that it was supposed to be uses as a regular non-waxed Napkin

Try these Pizzerias : Carlos Pizza, Bráz Elettrica, Da Mocca Pizza Shop and Rossopomodoro!
Thanks me later...
Ohh we love pizza! Thank you for the recommendations

Yes! Just make sure you are in a good place to get pizza. For being such a popular food in SP, we have a lot (5 thousand in the city and 12 thousand in the state) of pizzarias, so you can find bad places as easily as the good ones
Pizzaria Camelo tb!

Good day from Texas Alex & Lindsay, Great video and all the food looks delicious and really like the drone footage. I wounder if the paper towels were meant to wrap around the pastry so you don't get your hands greasy. Well you guys have a great day and stay safe and happy, until then I will be looking forward to the next exciting video.
Ah yes we found out that’s how they do it, they use it for putting the food into.
We use for not touchin food with hands and not to get greasy
Queso is in spanish. It's Queijo. And it's not a thin bread; the Pão de Queijo is just a ball of dough, made with flour, egg, salt, cheese (and something more I can't remember xD).

Aww that makes us happy to hear, thank you 😊
Same here (me too). I'm brazilian in London. Lived 2 years in USA too.
Pão de queijo(Cheese bread) is not filled with cheese, that texture actually come from the mandioca(Povilho, tapioca, cassava, aipim... there are tons of names.) flour, this flour if you mix only with hot water is like glue haha, there is also cheese in the dough, but is not what makes chewy.
And the napkins are like that because we don't like touching our foods, so we use napkins to eat. The napkins are like that so our hands don't get oily, not to clean after gets oily.
Brazil is the heaven of fresh fruits!, specially coconuts, so mouthwatering! :) Keep showing more guys ;)
This place is most famous for the sanduiche de pernil (pork meat sandwich). It's called Estadao because it's close to the newspaper Headquarters Estado de S.Paulo. Originally, it was a meeting point of journalists, who are known for not having time to have a proper lunchtime... And to work late hours. This is their spot.
I’m laughing here about those napkins, they are usually seen in bars or in bakeries, but if you got to a restaurant they usually have better ones.
The napkins is used to hold the snacks, brazilians don't like to put the hands directly on the food
@@danillopetrova Oh, in that case they are not really napkins. They are more like deli wax paper to hold the food. But, what happen if you need a napkin? Maybe they also have napkins somewhere else?

I watched all of your Mexico videos and now I'm catching up with the Brazil videos. Great job you guys, did not feel so curious to travel to Brazil until now thanks to you!
These napkins are meant to wrap the food, we don’t touch our food barehanded so you avoid the grease holding your food with the napkin, the material won’t absorb the grease, so it won’t “transfer” to your hand. I think you can also ask for the paper ones
It,s not a potato outside, it’s a kind of dough, made with flour, butter and milk. The cheese bread is made with a kind mandioca flour, we have many kinds of mandioca flour.
What a beautiful park. The food there looks amazing. I've been craving one of those sandwiches since your last video. Stay safe guys and God bless.
I'm also laughing my lungs out that you noticed the napkins don't work... Brazilians make fun of them all the time for that reason..
Yeah, here in Brazil most of the time in our dinners ('lanchonetes' - literally 'the place to eat snacks') is useful as an 'interface' between hands and food, not to clean your mouth or hands. Same on bakeries. Its just an interface.
You guys made some great choices. Loving the food tour 🤤🤤

A correction about the "Pão de Queijo", it is not that the bread is filled with cheese, but the cheese is actually mixed into the dough. Even the spots on the crust of the "pão de queijo" are actually burnt melted cheese. Nothing beats a truly warm out of the oven properly made "Pão de queijo" with some "requeijão" or better yet, a juicy slice of meat fresh out of the churrasco grill.

I'm Brazilian and everytime I go to São Paulo I try to get one of those pork sandwiches. Man, they are huge and keep you going the whole day. I always wanted to return to Brazil, for its people, food and landscapes, I would say at the level of Peru and that I have traveled a lot. Thanks to you I am traveling. But one day I'll be back again
We don't use napkins to clean our hands. We use napkins to hold this type of food, so we avoid direct contact with the food, it is more hygienic and we do not get our hands dirty. These foods (snacks) use the same dough as a base, but we change the fillings, some taste like pork, chicken or beef. This type of food is eaten with pepper sauce or ketchup, it tastes better with pepper, but there are many people who don't like it, so you have to order the sauce separately.
The napkin thing...the napkins are supposed to be used WHILE you are eating the food, so it protects both your fingers and hands from getting greased and also avoid s cntaminating the food if you're hands are dirty. That's why they are kind of waxed so the fluids don't pass through the paper. Nobody in Brazil eats a coxinha without prtoecting their hands (and the coxinha) with a napkin. Hope it makes sense.
Congartulations on your friendliness, humbleness and amazing videos.
Brigadeiro (chocolate truffles)is condensed milk, butter and chocolate powder! The caipirinha drink you can ask to do wick (mais fraco)!!
"Pernil" means something like "pork's meat from the leg". It is just delicious roasted or boiled. Sometimes it is roasted after being boiled. "Pão de queijo" is a bread done with milk cream and cheese mixed with wheat flour. "Croquete de carne" has wheat flour replaced by smashed potatoes (or same times cassava flour). The usual filling of "coxinha" is chicken meat ("coxinha" means "small chicken thigh")
Saudades de vocês!!! Volte ao Brasil.
Omg the napkins 🤣🤣🤣 that’s an iconic Brazilian thing ..
I'm Brazilian, and I also don't know why the napkins are like that, it doesn't work! I hate that haha, but we got used to it
Pão de queijo is not bread with cheese inside, but rather a dough made with mixed starch and cheese that gives it a crunchy taste on the outside and soft on the inside. A tip: How warm! And the coxinha and the other breaded ones do not have mashed potatoes, but a pasta made with the own broth of meat or chicken mixed with trigi flour! Enjoy!!! I'm loving!!!!💚💛💙🤍

Actually, this "cheese bread" is made entirely of the same mixture, which is a kind of "yucca flour", milk and cheese, all of it. Looks like there is "cheese inside" but the any difference of inside and outside is caused by the cooking process, just like a regular bread.
cheese bread and brigadeiro definitely taste better when home cooked and street place's napkins have better use to roll up some green than actually clean something

Guys, coxinhas is not really potato. There could be potato in the pastry, but it’s more like a cooked pastry made of flour and boiling flavoured water (so you cook the flour in it) and some people add some potato for making it lighter. Pão de queijo is made with cassava flour and cheese in mixed in the batter before baking. Glad you enjoyed the food in my city. That’s what I miss the most about Brazil.
And the ham coxinha or the sandwich is actually “pernil” or similar name in English would be pulled pork :)
I have arrived a bit later to your video but anyway lets give you a nice tip related to coconuts. After drinking the water, ask the guy to break it in the middle, or just open a bigger hole on it. Inside the coconut there is something like a cream that is just delicious, all you need is a spoon to have it.
That’s amazing, we are going to start doing that. Thank you ✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻
Great video! Your Portuguese is getting better and better! The title of the video should be "Experimentando comida brasileira" since the verb "to try" for food is experimentar. The Portuguese verb tentar is also "to try" but used in a different context. I know...it's confusing 🥴
Hi guys. Hope you’re enjoying Brazil.
Regarding the serviettes (paper napkins), I don’t know if you noticed, but Brazilians don’t touch they’re food/snacks/sandwiches with their bare hands, ever. They always use those paper napkins you find in every snack bar so that you don’t have to get your fingertips oily or messed up.
Really liked your video. Hope both of you enjoyed my city and the other places in Brazil you have been to. Be safe and have a Happy 2021.
