When I left Brazil after living and working there for three years I chose to make Salvador and Morro do São Paulo my final trip destination before flying back to Europe, spent a very enjoyable last week experiencing Bahian culture, food and people
My future wife is from Salvador, been there now few times, and Morro do SP, great place too, but need strong legs and not too much bagage. Why havent drink your first shot at the Gravinho bar? Love SSA and love Bahia!

Guys, you had a magic day in Pelorinho during the day but I recommend you to visit there again in the evening and walk until Santo Antônio Além do Carmo which is right above "Pelô" (that's how we Baianos call Pelourinho). In Santo Antônio there are many really good restauranstes and cafés, the sight is mesmerising, you have music to dance, art of all types to appreciate everywhere and also a lot of history! It is a super bohemian neighbourhood! Enjoy, Axé!

There are 3 wonderful places to visit in Bahia: "Moro de São Paulo", "As grutas das Chapadas Diamantinas" and "Boipeba" (an island with natural beauties for those who like to do eco tourism on their own)
You guys got some incredible images from Salvador, very beautiful. Regarding the bracelets thing, I also had to deal with some pushy vendors when I was visiting as well. But overall, most people selling things to tourists are very nice.
In Pelourinho, they have little doors that look like small places, but through them you get to huge backyards with restaurants, shops and museums. It's like the Narnia movie wardrobe. You must go to "O Cravinho" that have a lot of delicious handcrafted liquors. And I did not see you try the Acarajé, Abará or Moqueca. Are you afraid of the spices? :D
I guess your overview on Brazilian culture kind of changed since you guys went to Ouro Preto, especially Mina do Chico Rei, , and I think it was for better! Indeed, we inherited all of the joy and colours and sunny spirit from the Africans that were forcely brought to the American continent, but also we kind of use all that joy and colours and sunny spirit to cope with the painful past of our ancestors. Despite of the "European" vibe of some Brazilian cities and towns, we cannot (and we should not) move away from that past, because it is part of what we are. I am glad you guys are having the chance to face our culture considering those historical contradictions, because it allows you guys to face both our past and our present. Enjoy your trip and enjoy Salvador (which is one of a kind!),

You guys should definitely give carnaval a chance!! the energy and overall experience is just so unique. Maybe go during the day, to a smaller "bloco". Salvador has a sad history because it was build by slaves hands but yet its one of the most beautiful cities in brazil the entire northeast is a paradise.

Woo! So happy for you. We use GoPro, Canon M50 with 250mm lens, iPhone 11, and DJI Mavic Mini 2. Depending on the scenario, each one can be best to film on. To vlog on, GoPro is our choice. It’s got a windscreen, tripod, and software stabilization so it’s best to spin back and forth and do the blah blah bits. Although, the newer iPhone with a tripod is also great to vlog on. Fui pela primeira vez a Salvador em 2022 em janeiro,cidade maravilhosa incrível demais fiquei em guarajuba lindo demais também, a única coisa que eu teria pra reclamar de salvador seria esse povo que me parava de 2 em 2 minutos pra tentar vender ou "empurrar" alguma coisa, sempre dizem que não cobram e tal e no final pedem doação,na boa isso me deixou puto pq era TODO minuto,você não podia parar pra tirar uma foto ou olhar algo que já tinha 2 ou 3 em cima sem exagero foi muito mesmo o tempo todo,isso deixa a experiência chata,mas a cidade é maravilhosa demaiss a cultura pulsa em casa esquina,incrível
Isso acontece mais no centro da cidade, Pelourinho e similares. Infelizmente quem quer conhecer esse lado histórico da cidade, vai acabar presenciando isso mesmo. MAS Salvador é ENORME e não se resume ao centro, claro que muitos gostam disso, de conhecer mais da história e tals, mas tem coisas mais interessantes e fora do centro e bem mais tranquilo de conhecer.
8:40 Man, I think at least 70% of brazilians are actually part african, part portuguese, and part native. Some of them are more milky, others more coffee and others more cinnamon like, haha. But the mixture is on another level, it's pretty common ☺️

Se você for prestar atenção, uma GRANDE parcela das pessoas que se consideram brancas ou negras no Brasil, são todas misturadas, têm sangue de duas ou das 3 etnias juntas. É o meu caso, sou branquinha, mas tenho as 3 etnias, minha prima tem a mesma hereditariedade que eu, mas nasceu mais indígena, meu tio (o pai dela) mais negro... e por aí vai. Na hora de se identificar no IBGE, acaba colocando o que o resultado final puxa mais. Só quando eu fui morar fora do Brasil, é que eu percebi como a mistura do povo brasileiro está em outro nível. 70% é um chute bem conservador, pode ser até mais.

We use GoPro, Canon M50 with 250mm lens, iPhone 11, and DJI Mavic Mini 2.
Depending on the scenario, each one can be best to film on.
To vlog on, GoPro is our choice. It’s got a windscreen, tripod, and software stabilization so it’s best to spin back and forth and do the blah blah bits.
Although, the newer iPhone with a tripod is also great to vlog on. My friends have it, it’s great.

Fui pela primeira vez a Salvador em 2022 em janeiro,cidade maravilhosa incrível demais fiquei em guarajuba lindo demais também, a única coisa que eu teria pra reclamar de salvador seria esse povo que me parava de 2 em 2 minutos pra tentar vender ou "empurrar" alguma coisa, sempre dizem que não cobram e tal e no final pedem doação,na boa isso me deixou puto pq era TODO minuto,você não podia parar pra tirar uma foto ou olhar algo que já tinha 2 ou 3 em cima sem exagero foi muito mesmo o tempo todo,isso deixa a experiência chata,mas a cidade é maravilhosa demaiss a cultura pulsa em casa esquina,incrível
Isso acontece mais no centro da cidade, Pelourinho e similares. Infelizmente quem quer conhecer esse lado histórico da cidade, vai acabar presenciando isso mesmo. MAS Salvador é ENORME e não se resume ao centro, claro que muitos gostam disso, de conhecer mais da história e tals, mas tem coisas mais interessantes e fora do centro e bem mais tranquilo de conhecer.

Se você for prestar atenção, uma GRANDE parcela das pessoas que se consideram brancas ou negras no Brasil, são todas misturadas, têm sangue de duas ou das 3 etnias juntas.
É o meu caso, sou branquinha, mas tenho as 3 etnias, minha prima tem a mesma hereditariedade que eu, mas nasceu mais indígena, meu tio (o pai dela) mais negro... e por aí vai. Na hora de se identificar no IBGE, acaba colocando o que o resultado final puxa mais.
Só quando eu fui morar fora do Brasil, é que eu percebi como a mistura do povo brasileiro está em outro nível.
70% é um chute bem conservador, pode ser até mais.
