As a smaller petite women this is NOT a compliment. Many men I’ve encountered have always tried to CONTROL me or take care of me as if they’re my father and not my man or someone I’m just dating/getting to know. So as a small women it is very intimidating for me to deal with bigger men bc of men like him. I've known for a long time that men preferring women who are smaller is about dominance. Yup… my ex directly told me to “watch how big my arms get” because he was so threatened by my ability to build muscle. He couldn’t believe I didn’t want to be/couldn’t be a twig of a woman. I’m fairly tall and am naturally curvy so muscle is important for me to stay solid and fit. When I was 16 and in school standing at 4'10 someone I was talking to told me that that 'Someone wants to kidnap me because I look fun sized' Nothing happened but I do remember I felt afraid and kept looking over my shoulder to see if anyone was following me. Your skinniness and shortness doesn’t mean that you can’t protect yourself! You can learn a self-defense martial art like Jui Jitsu or Krav Mgaw, and maybe also carry licensed self-defense tools.

I’ve seen this clip before. And I don’t think it’s very common outside of these weird “alpha” male and/or incel circles. I’m sure it does exist, but women who are under average height (US is 5’4/3.5”) and are a normal weight, or might weigh more if they’re muscular, are pretty common. I’m pretty much exactly a foot shorter and “two thirds” of my SO’s body weight, and I know three things about him. A) I think he’d do something really drastic to himself if he ever lashed out at me (one does not have the sort of stepfather he did and not basically vow to never be like that). B) When we’re both in better physical health we spar with dummy knives or swords. I absolutely can hand him his rear on a silver platter. To the point where he’ll concede once I’ve gotten him down to one training weapon. (Granted it’s been years since we’ve been able to do that because of various medical issues.) And C) he absolutely loves that I can hand him his butt on a silver platter. (And I don’t _think_ he’s a masochist, 😅) The bigger problem I see is young (8-12) boys watching this stuff and growing up believing it. That men are basically fully uncontrollable beasts who must be satisfied at all times or they’ll turn violent. It’s a very odd, due to how extreme it is. As a smaller petite women this is NOT a compliment. Many men I’ve encountered have always tried to CONTROL me or take care of me as if they’re my father and not my man or someone I’m just dating/getting to know. So as a small women it is very intimidating for me to deal with bigger men bc of men like him. In Jamaica men tend to prefer bigger women, some like them fat n fluffy, others like slim thicc women. I am on the small side of the spectrum at 105lbs/ 47kg, height of 5’4. I'm 5' 1". I come from a family of small women. My grandma told me to avoid really large men especially men who were turned on by my small size, they were abusers.

Tbh I have long suspected this is the reason some men only date petite women because I noticed a lot of guys that talk like this don’t really value the person they are with and can be massive assholes to them and treat them as possessions (this is no shade at all to petite women, who also deserve healthy love, not targeting/being preyed upon) and why on dark nights walking home I am thankful for my bigger build and broad shoulders being such a deterrent, there aren’t many men who can overpower me without a serious fight or just snatch me up from behind. When I was smaller I was harassed constantly.
It doesn't always make sense because some guys are really tall and bulky I'd imagine if she was that small shed want him to be closer to her height. I've seen some guys reach like 6.7 at 5.7 I need heels just to reach him so I don't know why they always tried to say thats tall for a woman. No it's not I know a 20 year old that's like 6.2 and I have to put on heels to reach her too. So if they wanted her to be smaller then me then it would look like he's taking his daughter shopping.

Nothing happened but I do remember I felt afraid and kept looking over my shoulder to see if anyone was following me.
I always hated my height because I was shorter than everyone and skinny. I hope one day to change that because I do not want to look weak anymore especially with my size and height. In this day and age of crazies I see that it is important to protect yourself.
Your skinniness and shortness doesn’t mean that you can’t protect yourself! You can learn a self-defense martial art like Jui Jitsu or Krav Mgaw, and maybe also carry licensed self-defense tools.

@@winxclubstellamusanoo even inches of height is a massive advantage in hand to hand. That’s why there’s strict divisions in combat sports. The best protection is 1st and foremost always be vigilante and trust no one, and a veryy far behind 2nd- learn to use a firearm.

That man sounds dangerous. But on the other hand, i know this crazy reason is not the reason for ALL men. Like for example, I as a slim woman, prefer my man bigger than me… that’s what I’m physically attracted to, as it is typically masculine traits and I am heterosexual. My man is bigger and taller than me (not anything crazy… just a 6 inch difference in height) and has never put his hands on me, treats me delicately and I love it. I also know he is more likely to be physically able to defend and protect me if needed. I don’t feel scared or that he will hurt me (we actually play fight and he is shocked at how strong I am 😂) Some men may be attracted to women that are smaller, petite, soft/ slender because it’s usually associated with being “feminine”. Opposites attract and all that jazz lol

You may want to also consider the martial art "kali". Learning how to use a stick effectively is a good idea because sticks are easier to find than guns. Also: a tip: if you are already going to learn to punch effectively, then focus your efforts on perfecting an accurate short-range punch directly to the point of the chin; this sends a shockwave to the medulla of the brain and the person will be knocked out instantly. I learned this from a book "Secret Fighting Arts".

Wow, the whole time I thought some guys like slim or petite women because it was their preference. But I didn't know it was this deep. I don't think every guy thinks that way, but looks like some do.
Mildly relevant - my husband and I watched WWE recently and we prefer the women slightly over the men bc idk their athletic ability is just better and fun to watch. They also have more interesting costumes. But there’s a gag where a muscular male wrestler runs out to the match where there’s 15 women fighting in the ring together and he’s confused and asks “where are the men?” And then this hefty lady wrestler scoops him up and throws him over the top of the rope like he’s nothing. It was hilarious 😂

I’ve seen this clip before. And I don’t think it’s very common outside of these weird “alpha” male and/or incel circles. I’m sure it does exist, but women who are under average height (US is 5’4/3.5”) and are a normal weight, or might weigh more if they’re muscular, are pretty common. I’m pretty much exactly a foot shorter and “two thirds” of my SO’s body weight, and I know three things about him.
A) I think he’d do something really drastic to himself if he ever lashed out at me (one does not have the sort of stepfather he did and not basically vow to never be like that).
B) When we’re both in better physical health we spar with dummy knives or swords. I absolutely can hand him his rear on a silver platter. To the point where he’ll concede once I’ve gotten him down to one training weapon. (Granted it’s been years since we’ve been able to do that because of various medical issues.)
And
C) he absolutely loves that I can hand him his butt on a silver platter. (And I don’t _think_ he’s a masochist, 😅)
The bigger problem I see is young (8-12) boys watching this stuff and growing up believing it. That men are basically fully uncontrollable beasts who must be satisfied at all times or they’ll turn violent. It’s a very odd, due to how extreme it is. And I’m not making light of DA, but even 70 years ago, when a huge amount of DA that was looked the other way, it’s not quite the same as kids being raised being taught this kind of thing, plus, add in religious indoctrination that is written by men who seem to hate women, and poof! You have a bunch of terrible kids who think they are fully entitled to a woman’s body. And can threaten her if he chooses.
If I can Be honest, it's the exact same thing happening before, that's happening now. The only difference is the decade we're in, and the fact that women can choose not to be housewives anymore. The kids from the 70's were the original incels and violent men who didn't have social media to spread their poison faster
It worries me too, how boys and men are watching this stuff and believing it. I feel like the more guys like this talk unashamedly about violence against women, people will become desensitised to it and it will seem more normal. He and his videos should have been removed immediately.

Im an attractive 6 foot woman with an attractive 5”7 man. We get weird looks from most men. His colleague even said to him he wouldn’t handle dating a taller woman. But guess what we love each other so much that stupid things like height starts to be funny, our dynamic is way over just conventional masculinity femininity bs. We feel like kindred souls just living each other. And yes caring so much height is all about power play.
