Years ago I worked in a Turkish Restaurant. The food was really good. BUT the best food was the family food made by the Grandmas that we ate when the Restaurant was closed. One new year's Eve we had a family party for about 30 people and I will remember that food forever. You my dear Refika have helped me learn how some of the things were made. No more bought Hummous for me. It is my favourite food. I am not a vegetarian but I find that as I get old (that's wishful thinking I am already old,72) I eat less meat so your vegan and vegetarian recipes are great. To be honest I buy my Tahini in a jar at the Turkish Cypriot Delicatessen at the corner of my road. We are spoiled where I live. We can find almost anything we want. They stock at least 12 kinds of Haloumi for example. They were so kind through the Pandemic. I will always remember. Love your show so much. With love to all Lynne in London xx❤
I cannot. Wait to try this! Everything of yours that I have tried has come out spectacular. For someone who has always cooked dishes from all over the world ( not from having the privilege of being able to travel there but from immigrants from all over) it is hard to stop focusing on your wonderful meals….thanks from the bottom of my heart. It also helps to find your crew all loves and honors and protects each other. I have been turned off many times from shows that are stiff and condescending, no matter the food prepared.
What a sweet story about the chocolate! For a moment I thought, wow, Whitaker's is doing so well, they're exporting to Turkey! I think they're the best chocolate brand in NZ :)
I try so hard to replicate some of your recipes, but they never taste as good as the food we had in Turkiye.. why? Because your cheese is so freaking amazing, not only the quality but the variety . My mouth waters as I watch your shows. We have been home for a month and I still have the flavours of Turkish food lodged in my brain. Love to you all for Christmas.. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you very much! As soon as I finished watching this, I got up and when to my kitchen made on for my self. I was wondering what to eat for dinner, Because of you I had Very delicious dinner. 😍
Hello Refika! 🙋♂️Thanks so much for your excellent recipes!!! ❤️You are a real professional with a capital letter! I propose to become friendly channels ... Greetings from Moscow! 👍🏻😉🌹
Thank you Refika . It’s delicious and I’m going to do it . I always watch your videos and the Turkish ones as well . My grandma is Turkish and I lived for 5 years in Istanbul and I speak Turkish but can’t write it well . A big hug and thanks from Montreal ❤
I love seeing you two together in videos creating together. Such gentle souls. I will definitely try making this for our New Year’s brunch! Crunchy savoury goodness, and so many possibilities❣️ Happiness always to you and your team and families.
You all work so well together & today's dish though simple will be a real crowd-pleaser. I always find vanilla plays really well with persimmon, but rather than trying to evenly spread vanilla seeds over the katmer, grate a little tonka bean . Really lovely. Most UA-cam channels just ask for things; "likes", "subscriptions". So it's lovely that you gave back with the surprise gifts. Between yourself, your team & the happy viewers who write back it make the channel as warm as a Turkish summer.
More salutations from USA.....I am obsessed with your delicious channel! Just found it a few weeks ago & watching feverishly lol. I'm going to attempt these for my holiday brunch! Much love & hugs to you all. 👏👏👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰🥰
Wonderful of you to make use of persimmon, a fruit rarely seen in stores in the United States. We had a persimmon tree in our side yard when I was a child, but I am quite sure that we never managed to eat the fruit ripe before the birds did.
not sure I'd have the energy to make these Jan 1st, but I'll definitely be making this soon, that crunch completely convinced me that I need this in my life (and mouth). Thanks for an other great recipe!
Oh I love love love everyone from the team always joining with comments and taste testing. You guys bring warmth and humour to my time well im cooking!! So amazing! We just had a Turkish place called Galata open up near our house in Dearborn, Michigan but nothing like home made in Istanbul. I was born there and miss the food every day.
I don't know if I can get ripe persimmon but will try with cherries or nectarine if not! Looks incredible, & such a wonderful blend of crispy and soft.

I recognised the chocolate! A little bit of NZ. Have a great holiday season despite the madness in the world. You all do an amazing job. Carolyn.
Aaaah! Whittaker's! Haven't seen it in years . It's wonderful!
But thanks for the video and the katmer recipe, too. Love it (as usual).

That looks great of all the things I have seen these two cuties make the Katmer is what I want. I will try that soon. Eggs and parsley yum yum.
Wonderful of you to make use of persimmon, a fruit rarely seen in stores in the United States. We had a persimmon tree in our side yard when I was a child, but I am quite sure that we never managed to eat the fruit ripe before the birds did.
It must depend on where in the US you are. I have seen them for years in Oregon.
The crunch! I can't wait to try this on winter break.
They all look very delicious. Great that you helped to educate others about persimmons- such delicious fruits that so many avoid or don’t know about.
not sure I'd have the energy to make these Jan 1st, but I'll definitely be making this soon, that crunch completely convinced me that I need this in my life (and mouth). Thanks for an other great recipe!
