- This is the tastiest Bread I've ever eaten! Fluffy, Bubbly and Chewy Turkish Flatbread, No oven! Anyone can do it in their kitchen. Grilled Flatbread that drives the whole world crazy. It is very tasty to eat with fried chicken or baked meat. This flat bread can be used as a base for a taco, pizza or sandwich. Just wrap it around your favorite food. This recipe has been proven over the years, the dough is tastier than in Turkish restaurants, I have been on vacation in Turkey several times and I am sure this is the recipe that makes me make this bread again and again. 😎

Recipe and ingredients for 6 pieces of flat bread:
2 teaspoons dry yeast (10 grams).
2 teaspoons sugar (10 grams).
2/3 cup warm water (165 milliliters).
Add to bowl.
2/3 cup warm milk (165 milliliters).
Stir to dissolve yeast.
Cover for 10 minutes.
Sift 500 grams of flour (3 heaped cups).
Add 1 teaspoon salt (5 grams).
Add liquid with yeast and mix with a spoon.
1 tablespoon olive oil (15 milliliters).
Knead the dough by hand for 2 minutes.
The bread dough is very soft and a little sticky.
Cover the dough for 1 hour and leave in a warm place to rise.
The dough has doubled in size.
Sprinkle the table with flour and let the air out of the dough a little.
Divide into 6 equal parts.
Make balls.
Cover the dough so it doesn't dry out while you roll it out.
For convenience, you can use a silicone cooking mat.
Roll out the dough into a circle with a diameter of 18 centimeters (7 inches).
The thickness of the dough is about 5 millimeters.
Cook in a hot pan without oil.
On medium heat for about 3 minutes.
When bubbles appear, flip the bread.
This Turkish bread is similar to Naan bread in other regions of the world.
Cover hot flatbreads immediately with a tea towel to keep them soft.
All actions are very fast, while one bread is fried, we roll the next one.
Fry in a pan in the same way until the bread is golden brown on both sides.
Finely chop some parsley.
Brush each flat bread with olive oil.
Sprinkle with parsley.
Add red pepper to taste.
Nobody will ever mistake this for just another basic flatbread.
Perfect for slopping up your favourite curries - yet so good that you'll happily devour it plain, straight out of the skillet.
Fluffy, bubbly and chewy, just like you get at Turkish restaurants.
Bon Appetit!

I live in Toronto and recently I became friends with a man who is new to Canada, he moved here from Turkey a few months ago.
His English is not very good but he is improving, my Turkish is zero.
Thank you for this recipe, I will make it for him the next time he visits me, hopefully it will help him feel more at home.
That's so heartwarming to hear! I'm sure your friend will appreciate the effort, and I hope the Bazlama brings him a taste of home. 🥖🇹🇷

Thank you Maria, I'm happy you liked this recipe! 😊 Do you frequently prepare similar culinary creations? 😍
There is nothing more rewarding than learning how to make a great dough. There is a deep connection between the chefs touch and the texture of whats being created. Beautiful job!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I couldn't agree more, there's something truly special about the connection between the chef's touch and the texture of the dough. 🙌✨
I was in the U.S. Air Force back in the early 80's. We did two TDY's to Incirlik. Man we LOVED that bread.

I'm watching from Salerno - Italy, just tryed to bake this Turkish bread yesterday, it is wonderful and today it was still very soft!! Very good and easy to realize 🤗👌👍
I've made this and it's divine. My daughter goes nuts eating this for breakfast and so does the wife! If my girls are happy, I am happy. My family has Romanian roots. We have many wonderful Turkish dishes incorporated in our traditional cuisine. Cheers from St. Paul, MN (USA)!
You're welcome! I always love sharing my recipes with others. 😎 Have you tried any of my other recipes yet?
Hi, i just tried the recipe but, my dough sticks a lot more than the video to my fingers when i kneed it for 2 mins, and where do you put it to rest for 1 hour? Caus mine didnt grow at all after resting for 1 hour.
@@lenaicledoux5044 a couple of things ... Each flour is a bit different. I find that bread recipes need to be adapted to the type of flour used by the person baking that bread. Sometimes, if the dough is a bit too sticky, then you may need another teaspoon of extra flour to bring the dough to the desired consistency. Always add a little bit at the time and be patient kneading it. Kneading the dough a bit longer will create the necessary gluten network and will become less sticky. Again, that is highly dependent of the type of flour you're using! Always use very small amounts of flour when you add more than what a recipe calls for! Bread making is an art and there's always that "feel" of the dough when it's ready to be left alone or when it needs more kneading. As far as the dough not rising after one hour, then it could be because of your yeast not being fresh or still viable! I never just add yeast, as it comes in a packet to a bread dough recipe, no matter the bread I'm making! I use half of the liquid (water, milk, combination of both, etc) and add a little bit of sugar to it then add the yeast and let that sit for about 10-15 minutes. If I see frothing and bubbling, then I know the yeast is alive and well but if nothing happens, it means the yeast is bad or expired. Commercial yeast has an expiration date and will become inert and unusable after a certain period of time in storage. I keep mine in the freezer and I wake it up the way I just described. Also, the first time I tried this recipe the dough was indeed a bit stickier. I added a little bit more flour and it all worked out! If you get it right, the end result is simply delicious!

Made the bread here in Copan Ruinas, Honduras. I'm 68. May be the first time I've ever made bread. Possibly back in my early 20's. Turned out super tasty. Looked a little funky. The dough was so sticky that it was a little tricky working with. Definitely a keeper recipe. I put some fresh chile cheese and tomatoes on top for breakfast this morning. Yummy! Kind of endless possibilities and tweaks. Thanks for sharing!
That's fantastic to hear! Sticky dough often means deliciously soft bread. 🍞 The chili cheese and tomato topping sounds like a wonderful Honduran twist! 😋 Keep experimenting and enjoying your bread-making journey!

So you basically mean Naan and Chicken Tikka
Sounds delicious ❤
Like my father before me, I make pizzas for a living, and we have both won awards. I've done a few flat breads in my time. When I smoke pizza outside on the smoker, I tend to use naan. This looks fluffy, with a high hydration, but not crusty like a Focaccia, so I am going to make it and see what kind of pizza it makes.
Thank you for your kind words, they motivate me to keep creating content! 😍🔥
Omg pls share your pizza recipe!

In my stomach brain, I was thinking garlic-park sauce, parm-Romano- cheese, sun dried tomato pesto, basil leaves & Italian seasonings… possibly a little Costco rotisserie chicken. Ok… maybe some mozzarella too! Yum!
Just made this and it turned out awesome! All the instructions are clear and perfect. One of the few recipes that I actually made perfectly from UA-cam! It is very similar to Indian naan and kulcha. Quick and easy to make compared to other similar breads. I rate this a solid 9.5/10🎉.

Bazlama is similar to naan and, in Turkey, is often baked over an outdoor, wood fire. Bazlama is also known as "village bread" as it's often sold in stands at Turkish markets. One of the distinctions of Bazlama is that it's made with Greek yogurt, making the bread super tender and giving it a tasty tang.
Greek yogurt is known as strained yogurt in Turkey
@@katitobyt that makes so much sense!
@@claudiizzle Strained yogurt was dubbed Greek yogurt for marketing purposes. This variety of yogurt is basically strained yogurt.
