    Thanks for another helpful video, Rob. I love your casual nature, and that you can see images that will make great photos that I might just walk past. You have a good eye and that's what I'm learning most from you. How to see.

    Looks like you got some good results. I am watching the TG5 series with interest and waiting for your recommended settings and tips. I use mine for when I do not want to carry a Mu-43 or to the beach etc. You are certainly getting better results than I get but I admit I do not take the time to test cameras out for best settings like you do.

      Thanks. I'm finding the camera is fairly inflexible with settings. Most of my tips are going to be around operation to get the camera to do what I want it to do. The main problem is no shutter priority and poor high iso. So we are limited to basically 2 stops of aperture, exposure comp, or iso. The grain pattern is also unpleasant to me further hindering the use of high iso. Granted, it's not designed for enthusiast photographers but it has just enough for us to make it interesting - raw files, decent focal range, and macro!

    Nice video! Got my tg-5 today. Guess what I’ll be doing this weekend :-) and I remain curious for more video’s about the tg-5.

      Will continue to make them. It's not a very popular topic on my channel, but I like this little camera!

    I love your videos. How did you get such clean audio with the TG-5? I don’t get near this nice of audio. Thanks

    • @RobTrek
      @RobTrek  5 років тому +1

      In this video, I recorded separately to a pocket voice recorder and lav mic. I have gotten decent audio out of the tg-5, but you have to be facing and talking directly at the camera.

    Have you tried the star mode where you can have exposures over 4 seconds? I used my TG-5 with the lunar eclipse and had exposures that were a couple minutes long.

    • @RobTrek
      @RobTrek  5 років тому

      I'm familiar with "Live Composite" mode which lets you leave the shutter open but that doesn't gather more light but rather adds new light. Great for star trails and city traffic, but not for long exposures of static objects. Please do share with me the exact settings if this is not what you are referring to! Thanks.

    Thank you for an excellent review. Is it possible to lock the camera at ISO 100 and leave it at this setting?

    • @RobTrek
      @RobTrek  5 років тому

      Thanks. Yes. You need to be in A or P mode. Then go into the live control and change it from autoiso to 100.

    Hi Rob Just a question.Wil I benefit a lot if I update to the EM5 MK2 from my EM10 mk2.I saw that a update of EM5 MK2 is also on the cards.I do know its water resistant and it has n high res future and n full articulated screen but is the sensor any better(iso,colours etc).See you have not yet mention any thoughts on the new EM1X.What is initial thought wih all the hype and specs now that it is releasee

    • @RobTrek
      @RobTrek  5 років тому +1

      No need to upgrade unless you're em10 mk2 is dying. IQ is the same. EM1X....sigh. Pricing and size may be justified but missing features that keep me from getting it. It's simply a nice high-end camera that I don't need. There is a launch event next week I will try and go to and see for myself. I might buy it in the heat of the moment, so I try to avoid those things. I may do a photo walk and talk on it today.

    Hi,
    I took a picture from my "Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II" in evening in a room. image quality is so grainy and bad. what caused that?

    You really need a car with an app to locate it. Also most connected cars will allow your phone app to flash its lights and blow the horn as well as navigate you to it. It has saved me a lot of embarrassment and frustration over the last two years.

      @RobTrek  5 років тому

      Just something to consider when you upgrade in future. Technological advances seem to be accelerating forward at an ever faster pace and this particular feature is percolating down from luxury cars to modest saloons only two or three years after it first appeared.
      Love your E-M10 series. Keep it up, it is appreciated.
