Most are likely driving on an international license or 'bought' their license locally.

Sadly the number is higher than this. It's unbelievable how many people can't driver properly but we also seem to have such a difficult driver testing process. If the process is so hard then how do they end up with their license?

Another normal day in BC traffic! Half can’t drive and the other half don’t care anymore.
In an intersection, even if someone runs a yellow, you do not have the right of way to clear until the light has turned red. Once the light is red, you own that intersection and have the right of way to clear.

i had an accident where I was turning and the guy ran the red(barely), and I had multiple witnesses. He was found at fault. However, I've seen on Reddit that some people are still found at fault for left turning in front of a red light runner.
@@vancouversworstdrivers I mean, people SHOULD stop if they can. But the bottom line is that people don't. So, we have to drive as if everyone is going to do the wrong thing and act accordingly.
@@DogsSnipes Yeah, i had a 50/50 fault for a similar situation 30 years ago. In hindsight, i should have waited to clear.
Who cares who has the "right of way" - the objective is to avoid an accident and not find who's at fault. Do not proceed to make a turn until you can confirm the vehicles are stopping - if you entered the intersection on a green you can legally clear it after the light turns red. If you assume that the other cars are stopping and even if one runs a red, it'll still be 50/50 fault because you didn't try to avoid an avoidable accident.

Just another day in Vancouver, really. It used to be just cabbies and bus drivers that drove like a-holes. Now it's virtually everybody.
The drivers that really irk me to my core are the ones who excessively speed and run red lights.
Yes, you will get a ticket because if you ran the red light then the camera will flash and if you try and back up your car, then you’re still going to get a ticket because you ran the red light

@@rs11200 Past the crosswalk would trigger it. The one in the videos is definitely toast. Plus backing thru a crosswalk or out of an intersectlon is a whole nuther thing if there's a cop watching ... and that comes with points!
I was in Vancouver over the weekend for a concert and after watching your videos I was worried it would be a nightmare, but everyone was driving pretty well. A few bozos on the trans Canada but otherwise going through and around downtown was fine. Good job Vancouver keep it up.

If you've already driven over the crosswalk on a red light with a camera, you're getting the ticket either way. Stopping or backing up will only make things worse. I once had someone back into the front of my car trying to do the same thing.
Vancouver is the only city I've lived in where the drivers take longer to make a clear right turn than a left turn... also a suprising inability to notice that lights change over time - and also... just unable to drive in a straight line or at any speed vaguely close to the speed limit.
"if you get hit, you get hit twice as hard as if you were going with traffic". no, it doesnt work that way, if you're going 60kmh and you hit someone going 60kmh head on, you're not going get 120kmh worth of impact force, it's still a 60kmh hit...unless Mythbusters is lying to us.
Exactly because the 60kph impact is spread between 2 objects.
Would the speed of the cyclist not be added to the speed of a driver going the opposite way? Hence why head on accidents are so deadly
@@vancouversworstdrivers Mass is definitely a variable if a cyclist hits a semi truck head on assuming they're both going the same speed the cyclist would absorb most of the damage. But if the mass and speed of the objects are identical they split the impact force equally they don't double.

@@vancouversworstdrivers i'm just remembering mythbusters from back in the day, 2 cars going the same speed went head on into each other and some math later it was the same as 1 car hitting a solid object at the same speed not double. but i can always google "if 2 cars going 60 hit each other, will it be double the speed worth of damage when the cars stop,but i wont since i trust mythbusters, and math.
I've noticed a lot of people running red lights lately, and not just speeding thru, they will stop, and proceed anyways, wtf people💀

5:24 - How many times does it need to be said - you only turn across a stream of traffic if it is safe, always yield to opposing traffic going straight. Maybe the other guy should also be stopping on that late yellow / red, but don't blindly bet your car on it. Unless you actually see them stop, don't just assume they will, because that's how wrecks happen.

THIS is the shit the police should be dealing with. Not the nonsense put forward by "Vision Zero", but the 100% straight-up crazy shit, turning from or to wrong lanes, driving in opposing traffic, cuckoo U-turns. . Lay some dangerous driving charges, impound vehicles (sometimes permanently), get some driving bans happening.
It’s a well-known fact that stopping & reversing is the CTRL + Z for red light camera violations.
#1 is on Oakland Street by Deer Lake. Lots of speeders on this stretch of road.
Trying to make a left at the next light is terrible. People come flying around the corner and before you know it, they are on your door.

Story time a week ago I was on the bus and I encountered this driver who is so impatient to turn left so he decides to drive down the median so that he bypass traffic this was at Deer lake parkway near Willingdon Avenue I didn’t believe how bad the driver’s are until I saw that and I was like what the hell

Entering the Intersection on a Red will get you a Ticket, backing up doesn't Erase the Event. Could even add another Charge, Reversing into/over a Crosswalk
Recently, the stu**d part of me tried to run a yellow light ending up to change to red before I could cross. I pushed breaks and had to back up. It had a camera. I never got a ticket but who knows, maybe the camera wasn’t working or something else…
Four Weeks! I damn near went through withdrawals! As to the flatdeck near the end, that's a bit of laziness sprinkled with an unhealthy dose of stupidity. Not a stick of freight on the truck and it was probably an auto, easy to stop. I hope that the Pallet Factory sees this clip because we don't need wheel holders like this on the roads.

Is there no way to report someone to the police when they do something illegal or dangerous and you have dashcam footage of it? I'm pretty sure that in some places in Europe, you can, and you also get a monetary reward.
People should love these videos, not just because they illustrate the kinds of bad drivers there are on Vancouver's roads and highways, but because they're FUN!!

8:11 I'm pretty sure they still would get the ticket. A co worker got stopped by a flag man in the middle of an intersection once and the light turned red. The flag man was letting a dump truck back into a construction site on the corner. She along with the 5 other people stuck in the intersection all got tickets. She paid it because she didn't have time to take off to go to court to fight it.

Snow is not allowed on the ground in Vancouver!!! It's great up on the big hills but, not on the ground in the city. People do not know how to drive in snow in Vancouver.

With the two cars and the yellow. Left turn is not at fault, the straight through car should not have entered the intersection that late into a yellow and will likely be ruled at fault

@@e-curb I learned that just recently, but essentially this planted the just rush every amber mind set to many I'm afraid.
So tired of the dolts who treat the left lane like their own personal 'safety' lane on the highway, often below the average pace of other traffic (impeding), then cross 3-4 lanes in 300m for their exit and causing the other lanes to slow dramatically creating a hazard to the other 50 drivers in their direct vicinity.
These clips showcase the sick mentality of Vancouver drivers. It's almost as if it has become a mental health crisis. Horrible drivers everywhere.
All traffic lights they have cameras like a red light camera and a speed camera! If you go too fast, then the camera will flash. If you go through a red light, then the camera will flash. So, it’s double trouble
Not true actually very few have them (you can Google a map of them) and the cameras on top of the intersections don't have the ability to capture speed or license plates for running red lights
6:25 the bus believe it or not, is allowed to do that as its included with the yield law, you see this alot more often in cities like Toronto where alot more bus stops are right before intersections

@@vancouversworstdrivers You have that on Pacific as well. Where cars are forced to do a right turn to get onto Cambie bridge (going west), the buses are allowed to proceed straight.
Was fun the first time I was sandwiched between cars and the bus in the "bike lane", at least the bus goes straight into a bus stop and doesn't just cut across the bike lane.
This only applies to right turn only lanes that are marked "expect buses" which this intersection does not have. The nearest bus stop on Shell Rd is just beside the school and is only served by the community shuttle and there is no bus stop (or bus service) on the south side of Steveston Hwy. The community shuttle that serves that road would turn left (eastbound) onto Steveston Hwy where as this bus is not in service and returning to the depot.
Also, given the location of the video, the driver could have very well been a mechanic bringing the bus back to the depot and not necessarily an actual bus driver.
Watching some of these drivers blatantly risk the lives of others makes my blood boil.
Campbell video: Always look left and right before crossing the road, and even pedestrians when they are crossing the street and using the crosswalk
Even if I'm walking across a 1 way street, I look both ways every single time.
Same with me, and I always look both ways to cross the street and the crosswalk, and I do not want to get hit by a car!

I don't see the problem with the black truck. He didn't cut him off they were hardly moving. Also the dashcam car had like 10 feet infront of him. I hate when people don't squeeze in tight in left turn advanced green lane. Like squeeze in and get as many people through as possible. Sitting in the left turn lane with a gap that far infront of you is so annoying. Like fucking move up bro.
