Great walkthrough👍 Its almost impossible to spec the Macan under 1.1 mill nok, even if you keep it simple, add wintertires and you will end up around 1.2 or more. Like the looks (maybe not the rear) and driving feel. But space, price and noise level made the Polestar 3 an easy choice for me. I also bought the launch edition, so "only" payed around 850k nok inc wintertires. I also like the the Polestar is a little bit "different".
Test drove both the P3 and the Q6. Really wanted to like the Audi because of the 800Volt technology, the extensive driver assist systems and the Audi brand reputation (mainly for possible resale value) but it didn’t work for me. Couldn’t find a good seating position, the dashboard was a bit too messy to my liking and the hard plastic made the car feel cheap. Mostly taste issues and very personal. So I tried both cars again, back to back. Couldn’t resist buying the P3 in the end. It drives as comfortable as good big cars with air suspension can but at the same time it feels light and nimble when you push it. For me a perfect combination. Add to that the very nice finish (very little hard plastics), great design and extremely comfortable seats and I was sold for it. It is still scary to put my hard earned cash down for an small car brand with unfinished software. But it certainly drives fantastic and I really like the looks of it. No regrets so far.
I have the Q6 Quattro on 19” and steel suspension. Tyres are a bit narrower 235/60 front and 255/55 rear. There is too much tyre noise, even on cheaper wheels. But it’s a great car that drives really well.
I’m picking up my Polestar 3 today and am so excited. The minimalist interiors and exterior design are sophisticated and the drive so comfortable. I get what you mean about the lack of buttons, wish there were a few more like you suggested. But for the price compared to a Porsche, it was an easy choice for me.
I just ordered mine today, after a few years enjoying my XC60 hybrid. It will be my first fully EV and i cant be more excited! I looked at the EX90 (but didn't want to wait for production), the Macan (didn't like it at all), the Tesla and Audi. I think the Polestar is MILES ahead of them all for exactly the reasons you describe. It's a beautiful car!
Good video. The fact that you’re comparing Polestar to Porsche says quite a lot about Polestar’s 1st EV SUV. Audi’s monochromatic interiors are mundane. The Macan drives like a Porsche as it should. For my money, I’m pulling for Polestar!
It''s not Polestar but Geely and they have plenty of experience in the field of electric SUV, or even hypersuv's like Lotus Eletre, the problem with Geely Car's is they are beautiful and well equipped for the money, but software wise, they are absolutely unreliable and it's an universal truth about Geely EV's.
Can I ask you what do you do to afford something like this? I dream of owning a car like the Polestar 4. I earn like half a million but I can´t afford to buy something like this.
@ I live in Australia and only make like 100k (AUD) per year. However, I own my house and it has appreciated considerably, and I also invest my savings. I would purchase (or lease) with a downpayment so the repayments would be affordable

I love these comparison videos. (Not just as I am cross shopping these). I long thought our next car will be a P*3, until I got to sit in the backseat of one (I ride in the backseat a lot) and my heart sank. It made me think I was in a nicer model 3 as I felt like I was sitting on the floor. Not to forget the touch buttons on the steering wheel that I can not stand! And the manual(!!!) thigh support. My wife and I share one car. I do NOT want to have to manually change anything when we change profile. After that I thought the Macan will be our next car. But I won't order anything without driving it and we have now driven the Turbo. Well, my wife thinks the throttle mapping is way too soft (have to push the accelerator down too far to make the car take-off, even in sport plus), not to mention the missing off throttle re-gen which she (and I) really don't like. The car will be driven in bumper to bumper traffic most of its time sadly. So I've started to think, maybe the Q6 is the way to go... But, I'd discounted it as you can't get massage seats (which is a bliss in bumper to bumper traffic). We choosed between the e-tron 55 and the Volvo XC60 PHEV with P* last time but the UK (lack of) charging networks 4 years ago and the outside size of the e-tron made the Volvo the winner.... Keep the videos coming. I will head to the Porsche dealer tomorrow with my measuring tape as I feel like the boot size might not be what I think (and that hard parcel shelf is just nasty! Why Porsche!??, just whyyyyyyy?????)
I was recently sitting in a Q6 and just after 1-2 min I would never buy the Q6 - full of hard plastic, no go. The Porsche looks so small, it maybe isn‘t but it looks small. I don‘t like the Porsche design, but quality is what it should be. Have not yet seen the Polestar but will go and see it. Thanks for this video.
It’s great to see a ”new” brand like Polestar doing so well. Crazy still is the high prices combined with the value of electric cars fall very quickly in value. As a car journalist I would make the choice based on now. Me, I would go with Polestar, just a much better looking car. I would live with some short comings on the software and hope for improvements. The physical buttons will of course not be coming. This is a disaster on any cars! Were did the traffic safty go? It’s just thrown out the windows, it’s crazy.
So your hypothesis is that the four Q6 E-Trons I have had on loan in Norway and the two two press cars I drove in Spain where on overinflated compared to the two Macans I drove in Germany, the Macan press car here in Norway, the two PS3 press cars I drone in Spain and the two I have had on loan in Norway. Got it, that both makes a lot of sense and sounds super likely hahaha!
I am keaning towards q6 for efficiency and biot soace reasons but worried about cabin noise. Does anything ne have direct experience with double glazed front windows which i can add as an option to the audi? How much do they help?
On the Q6, just hold the star button on the steering wheel to affect the speed limit warning. Just hit the button one time to turn it off when you want.

This is great. Excellent presentation of these option. Thanks Kris. FYI - In the US, the Porsche is significantly more expensive right now because entry-level is the 4S model, and very little inventory. My guess is the leases are 40-50% higher than the SQ6 right now (12/24). Also - the soon-to-die but very luxurious Q8 eTron is as cheap as the Q6 eTron, so it is a good value while supplies last. I'm also considering the Lyriq, which is not as dynamic (until the V model arrive), but is very compelling Luxury SUV EV package with tesla supercharger access and excellent supercruise. So for me it is down to Polestar 3 vs. Audi Q8 eTron vs. Lyriq 600e. (note in the US the Polestar is sold through a corporate network, so no negotiating with the dealer here.)
In UK I tried speccing an A6 Etron and a Macan 4 with my essentials. To get what was essential to me the Audi came out £20k more because they bundled everything into packages whereas with the Macan I could pick and choose. With the Audi I had to include a sun roof, huge wheels and leather seats all of which I would prefer not to have. Without these I couldn't get ACC, air suspension, 360 camera and electirc memory seats.Including these on the Macan 4 my build came out at £81k whereas on the Audi it was over £100k. Absolutely no contest especially as I would have ended up with those things I hate too. Maybe you can spec extras differently in Norway but is one of my bug bears with Audi and Polestar that its packs or nothing (even though I have and love my Polestar 2 LRDM). Agreed the Audi is much larger and more practical for families but I prefer the smaller size and have only had a passnger in the back of my Polestrar 2 or 3 times in 3 years.
exactly this. I can have Macan with good seats, HUD, panoroof for less than 80k GBP. Sadly after the test drive it was to noisy for me. I have no idea what went wrong on the design board.
Audi do make it difficult! No air suspension and only black sport seats in the U.K. but most sales are company cars or leases. Adding options to a lease adds a lot to the cost.
Thanks for a really good video, very much worth the watch. Personally I think I like the Polestar 3 although the Macan is very very close (smaller boot is a negative but the badge is a positive). Having owned a Taycan and losing a ridiculous amount on trade in, I can see the Macan doing the same within a couple of years.
Not sure the conclusion matches the review! Through out the video, the Polestar was ahead! Would be interesting to see what was the conclusion you landed on the night before.
As I said, in the end it was really close. But the Porsche is just a more complete package, and it just works. I find it hard to recommend the unfinished product a head of one that works almost perfectly.
I've had a p2 for 2 years and the software is an absolute nightmare. Constant crashes and bugs no matter how many times polestar ' rebuilds ' the software.
@ryanmathews8648 I've owned my 2022 Polestar 2 for two years with no problems except for maybe two or three times rebooting the center-console using by pressing and holding the home button. I'm not getting the rear camera issues either that many are reporting. You should make sure you are on the latest OTA software update: v3.1.9
Can I just say, lane keep assist is quite dangerous and has tried to kill me multiple times. Here in Germany, whenever there are roadworks, they use yellow road markings which replaces the white markings for the duration of the road works. However, the lane keep assist does NOT recognise the yellow road markings. So whenever the yellow lane markings deviate from the white road markings, the lane keep assit attempts to follow the white road markings, tugging the wheel, which is basically pulling me into the next lane (marked out with yellow markings). In one case, i was almost thrown into the back of a semi truck because of lane keep assist. So Idk how that crap is mandatory when it can't even adapt to different colour road markings.
I just got the polestar 3 earlier this week. Switched from Tesla model Y. Polestar 3 is definitely unfinished and has a lot of updates pending to even be what it advertises to be. Polestar doesn’t seem to have any urgency to fix the deficiencies. No other car company would put out a car with sets of nonfunctional buttons. That said… I got it and it’s nice.
Thanks for these comparison videos. I'm sure the work that goes into them is enormous and appreciated. I'm waiting for someone to drive the depreciation off the Polestar, decide it's not for them, and grab one. I just can't justify that price for a Polestar. I'd get the Porsche, too, if buying new.
We have a polestar 3 which is being rejected due to so many issues Shame as it drives lovely and had nice int. but the software is shit! And polestar released the car before it was anywhere near ready. It won’t even preheat the battery for quick charging and does way less than 300 miles Supposed to be 375
I just moved from Polestar 2 to Polestar 3. There is no comparison. My P2 drove nice but had tons of issues and it was made cheaply. My P3 is on another league in quality, looks and features. Top P2 in my market approaching $96k and my P3 was just over $100k. It's a no brainer.
Guessing the market in Norway for EVs is very different, to many other countries? I was offered a December delivery for a Macan back in October. Don’t know what the current situation is now. You could order some models and drive away in less than 2 months. Turbo was a little longer. Also seen cars on Autotrader being offered with discounts. I am on a forum and there are discounts available in some countries. And stock cars available! Polestar appeals but currently not aware of any dealers in U.K. I have part ex and would want to negotiate. I guess, market in individual countries and even locally within countries, can vary significantly.
Hey Kris! Great review. What do you think about Polestar 4 compared to these ones? I know it plays in a bit other league because of the form factor at least, but is it far below in terms of driving experience and usability? Ofc taking into acount that Polestar will tune up software to the decent level of quality with OTAs
Checked the Porsche last week as you said it would be superior to the Audi. Can't really confirm. They both have about the same amount of hard plastics below your knee line. You can spec up the Porsche much higher than you could a Audi. THEN the Porsche looks better. But not without. The ambient lighting though is always better. Much more light strips.

You could as well be saying “your impression is these the Audi has a bigger battery than the Polestar” you’d be as wrong as you’re here. I don’t mean to be harsh, but it’s not a matter of impression between the Audi and Porsche. It is very cut and dry.
Unfortunately you got it wrong with Polestar 3 price in GBP. Dual motor starts from £76k in UK but with sound system and other options which are linked, it would be £85k easily. Which is the price you could spec Macan 4, and now with 3% discount in the UK.
I wouldn't trust volvo/polestar to fix much, The previous model years had similar issues and they just never got fixed.Perhaps its to do with who owns volvo,,"Geely" perhaps think they know the best and everyone has to fall in line.No surprise.. Would not recommend touching a Volvo product. They look good on paper and have attractive stuff that impress on test drives...Good looks,decent interior,Good Audio, Good seats,Good history but the real stuff that matter over long term ownerships like Engines,refinement,quality and day to day usability fail major time.
It’s triple the size ( macan etc really are tiny suv’s ) even the Cayene in front of the volvo is side by side looks like a toddler ( GLS , X7 , Defender 110 & RR LWB are its competitors size wise )

I would spec a Macan same as out of spec Dave.. so around mid $80k
Lightly spec'ed Macan, so that the price does not run off, would be my choice. But I would wait two years - the write-off's are massive on these vehicles, unfortunately. I would not have the Q6 - too expensive relative to competitors - I know, I know, not the same battery or charging capabilities, but you can get a well-well spec'ed BMW IX3 Fully Charged for a lot less money (especially used). Porsche is a "Mulburry Bag" and you pay for the badge, but it is justifiable.
@Khis: perhaps do a brief one-take test of the IX3 one day? Or perhaps to a run down of the used cars market, and make a list of cars to consider for the value/money?
Love all three of these cars for different reasons. Would likely go for the Macan, but the P3 would be a no-brainer if it was 800v and had better charging in particular. Would have to imagine with 800v it would also be a legit 350 mile range car in the dual motor model given 800v generally improves efficiency.
800v is useless. most of the people charge at Tesla supercharger and 400v works perfectly there. ive seen Polestar 3 charging at 256 kw/h at the tesla supercharger

First of all, Electrify America in particular (in the US obviously) is updating their network to be predominately 350kw per dispenser. Regarding 800 vs 400v, go take a look at the charging curve of the current Taycan vs. the Polestar 4 for example - or like for like, the 400v Zeekr 001 vs 800v Zeekr 001 charging statistics. Literally double the average power output or greater in the 800v systems. Secondly, the Tesla network will likely be significantly upgraded over the next 3 years (when many people will still be driving Polestar 3s) to v4 cabinets/dispensers capable of 500kw. This will obviously help with the P3 from an amperage perspective, but won’t replace the capability of an 800v system. This is not even taking into account the added efficiency of an 800v system, which would only increase maximum range. You, my friend, are ill-informed.

It's the Polestar 3 for me. I would get a spec with the BW sound system. Maybe the performance option as well If I'm not being frugal. I won't consider the Audi. and if I really want a Porsche, I'll get a real one like a 911 Turbo. I would have money left after specing the Polestar over the Porsche and I'll use the remaining money to fund some epic road trips 😊
I would choose the Polestar hands down. The company is good on OTA updates, and the infotainment is far superior. Maybe this will change when Rivian gets involved as part of the deal with VW. More importantly though, the Polestar is the only car between the three you are reviewing here that offers true one pedal driving. That's like the most enjoyable part about driving an EV. The fact VW can't get one pedal driving right is ridiculous.
I’ve never seen a car, that expensive, having a look and feel, that cheap. Also the infotainment looks weird, to many informations, not clustered properly, important things in small letters, unimportant things in bigger letters, just not finished. Clearly the Porsche is more expensive, but is the money worth and feels way better on the road. Polestar 3 is the best value and has a nice, simple, reduced interior and a stylish exterior.
Polestar 4 isn't an SUV, doesn't come with air suspension and can't match these cars when it comes to charging speed, or real world range. Comfort wise and dynamically it is not in the same league as these. So yes, Polestar 3 is the closest competitor as show in this video and in my Triple Range test.
Drove all 3 got the fully loaded P3. Drove the best, certainly better than the aud and i see about 10 of them a day. Not seen a single P3 in my spec. Makes it more special. The audi like most audis are like those people who go on holiday to the same place every year for 20 years as they think its good but are too scared to actually find out if somewhere else would be better. Such a snorefest of a car. Maybe if you are an accountant and have no pulse but anyone living would be better with the polestar.
How on earth would you not buy the Porsche over the P3? It’s automotive royalty. Don’t like the look of the Q6 and I have been driving Audis for 25 years. Macan 4 for me. Business lease deal is a no brainer. Will be careful with the spec, though. I always over spec and then barely use or appreciate what I added.
The price of a car varies from country to country... Here, the Macan is very, very expensive. It costs about 150 million. You can buy a Taycan for that money. On the other hand, the Q6 costs around 100 million, and we don't know when the Polestar 3 will come out.
@@KrisRifa i made calculations but in canada the q6 quattro fully specced out is 900k kroner. the Polestar 3 with a similar spec (LR DM + leather) is 1 million . to give an example.
Well its personal and professional - you probably will keep the car for less then a year and which one gives you the best return for your channel, I could not say. Since the Polesatar is not ready yet - it's easy 1. Macan, 2. Audi, 3. Polestart. Or Macan now and the Polestar after.
My Audi Q6 Edition one grey will be delivered end of this week. Would not even consider Chinese Volvo. I don’t need the Porsche. And I don’t like its styling. Audi is the perfect choice for me. And it’s easy to program the star button on the steering wheel for speed alert. Maybe you should read the manuals

Compared the Macan 4S to the Audi SQ6 (same price and same specs at 517 bhp). Macan looks like a flattened Beetle with an old interior and a middle screen that isn’t sufficiently driver-focused. Also noisy as hell. The SQ6 in comparison is a real SUV, virtually silent. Auto Motor und Sport reviewed it as the least noisy SUV. Go figure. Of course you have to spec the isolated glass as you have to on the Porsche. And those hard plastics underneath? Same on the Porsche. Finally, the Porsche devalues rapidly. Just look at their Taycan, which you can get for peanuts second-hand.
Sorry guys but the interior is far away from beeing superb by Polestar. The Screen is not at all integrated and looks like a big tablet is used for. Then the usability is far away from Porsche and Audi. To compare the trunks you should take a meter and not stomach feelings. And a bit more know how of the specs of each car is necessary to do such a compare. Rear wheel drive for Audi is not available, ...
Aesthetically, I love the perfect balance that Polestar offers. Rounded lines but still aggressive enough. And the rear light bar is truly stunning.

Switched to a P3 from a Model Y, and I am never going back! The Polestar 3 is awesome!

I was recently sitting in a Q6 and just after 1-2 min I would never buy the Q6 - full of hard plastic, no go. The Porsche looks so small, it maybe isn‘t but it looks small. I don‘t like the Porsche design, but quality is what it should be. Have not yet seen the Polestar but will go and see it. Thanks for this video.
It’s great to see a ”new” brand like Polestar doing so well. Crazy still is the high prices combined with the value of electric cars fall very quickly in value. As a car journalist I would make the choice based on now. Me, I would go with Polestar, just a much better looking car. I would live with some short comings on the software and hope for improvements. The physical buttons will of course not be coming. This is a disaster on any cars! Were did the traffic safty go? It’s just thrown out the windows, it’s crazy.
Audi better than Macan after one weekend with both. Noise is linked to over inflated tires only as explained and proven on many chats
So your hypothesis is that the four Q6 E-Trons I have had on loan in Norway and the two two press cars I drove in Spain where on overinflated compared to the two Macans I drove in Germany, the Macan press car here in Norway, the two PS3 press cars I drone in Spain and the two I have had on loan in Norway. Got it, that both makes a lot of sense and sounds super likely hahaha!

I am keaning towards q6 for efficiency and biot soace reasons but worried about cabin noise. Does anything ne have direct experience with double glazed front windows which i can add as an option to the audi? How much do they help?

On the Q6, just hold the star button on the steering wheel to affect the speed limit warning. Just hit the button one time to turn it off when you want.

FYI - In the US, the Porsche is significantly more expensive right now because entry-level is the 4S model, and very little inventory. My guess is the leases are 40-50% higher than the SQ6 right now (12/24). Also - the soon-to-die but very luxurious Q8 eTron is as cheap as the Q6 eTron, so it is a good value while supplies last. I'm also considering the Lyriq, which is not as dynamic (until the V model arrive), but is very compelling Luxury SUV EV package with tesla supercharger access and excellent supercruise. So for me it is down to Polestar 3 vs. Audi Q8 eTron vs. Lyriq 600e. (note in the US the Polestar is sold through a corporate network, so no negotiating with the dealer here.)
In UK I tried speccing an A6 Etron and a Macan 4 with my essentials. To get what was essential to me the Audi came out £20k more because they bundled everything into packages whereas with the Macan I could pick and choose. With the Audi I had to include a sun roof, huge wheels and leather seats all of which I would prefer not to have. Without these I couldn't get ACC, air suspension, 360 camera and electirc memory seats.Including these on the Macan 4 my build came out at £81k whereas on the Audi it was over £100k. Absolutely no contest especially as I would have ended up with those things I hate too. Maybe you can spec extras differently in Norway but is one of my bug bears with Audi and Polestar that its packs or nothing (even though I have and love my Polestar 2 LRDM). Agreed the Audi is much larger and more practical for families but I prefer the smaller size and have only had a passnger in the back of my Polestrar 2 or 3 times in 3 years.
exactly this. I can have Macan with good seats, HUD, panoroof for less than 80k GBP. Sadly after the test drive it was to noisy for me. I have no idea what went wrong on the design board.

Audi do make it difficult! No air suspension and only black sport seats in the U.K. but most sales are company cars or leases. Adding options to a lease adds a lot to the cost.
Thanks for a really good video, very much worth the watch. Personally I think I like the Polestar 3 although the Macan is very very close (smaller boot is a negative but the badge is a positive). Having owned a Taycan and losing a ridiculous amount on trade in, I can see the Macan doing the same within a couple of years.

Not sure the conclusion matches the review! Through out the video, the Polestar was ahead! Would be interesting to see what was the conclusion you landed on the night before.
As I said, in the end it was really close. But the Porsche is just a more complete package, and it just works. I find it hard to recommend the unfinished product a head of one that works almost perfectly.

I've had a p2 for 2 years and the software is an absolute nightmare. Constant crashes and bugs no matter how many times polestar ' rebuilds ' the software.
@ryanmathews8648 I've owned my 2022 Polestar 2 for two years with no problems except for maybe two or three times rebooting the center-console using by pressing and holding the home button. I'm not getting the rear camera issues either that many are reporting. You should make sure you are on the latest OTA software update: v3.1.9
Can I just say, lane keep assist is quite dangerous and has tried to kill me multiple times. Here in Germany, whenever there are roadworks, they use yellow road markings which replaces the white markings for the duration of the road works. However, the lane keep assist does NOT recognise the yellow road markings. So whenever the yellow lane markings deviate from the white road markings, the lane keep assit attempts to follow the white road markings, tugging the wheel, which is basically pulling me into the next lane (marked out with yellow markings). In one case, i was almost thrown into the back of a semi truck because of lane keep assist.
So Idk how that crap is mandatory when it can't even adapt to different colour road markings.
I just got the polestar 3 earlier this week. Switched from Tesla model Y. Polestar 3 is definitely unfinished and has a lot of updates pending to even be what it advertises to be. Polestar doesn’t seem to have any urgency to fix the deficiencies. No other car company would put out a car with sets of nonfunctional buttons. That said… I got it and it’s nice.

Thanks for these comparison videos. I'm sure the work that goes into them is enormous and appreciated. I'm waiting for someone to drive the depreciation off the Polestar, decide it's not for them, and grab one. I just can't justify that price for a Polestar. I'd get the Porsche, too, if buying new.
Audi being noisy is a deal breaker for me. Surprised that Audi overlook sound insulation. What about the Porsche since its the same car?

Shame as it drives lovely and had nice int. but the software is shit! And polestar released the car before it was anywhere near ready. It won’t even preheat the battery for quick charging and does way less than 300 miles

Polestar 2 looks so cheap and dated but the Polestar 3 is just beautiful and the easy winner here.
I just moved from Polestar 2 to Polestar 3. There is no comparison. My P2 drove nice but had tons of issues and it was made cheaply. My P3 is on another league in quality, looks and features. Top P2 in my market approaching $96k and my P3 was just over $100k. It's a no brainer.

Guessing the market in Norway for EVs is very different, to many other countries?
I was offered a December delivery for a Macan back in October. Don’t know what the current situation is now. You could order some models and drive away in less than 2 months. Turbo was a little longer. Also seen cars on Autotrader being offered with discounts. I am on a forum and there are discounts available in some countries. And stock cars available!
Polestar appeals but currently not aware of any dealers in U.K. I have part ex and would want to negotiate.
I guess, market in individual countries and even locally within countries, can vary significantly.

Checked the Porsche last week as you said it would be superior to the Audi. Can't really confirm. They both have about the same amount of hard plastics below your knee line. You can spec up the Porsche much higher than you could a Audi. THEN the Porsche looks better. But not without. The ambient lighting though is always better. Much more light strips.

Unfortunately you got it wrong with Polestar 3 price in GBP. Dual motor starts from £76k in UK but with sound system and other options which are linked, it would be £85k easily. Which is the price you could spec Macan 4, and now with 3% discount in the UK.
I wouldn't trust volvo/polestar to fix much, The previous model years had similar issues and they just never got fixed.Perhaps its to do with who owns volvo,,"Geely" perhaps think they know the best and everyone has to fall in line.No surprise.. Would not recommend touching a Volvo product.
They look good on paper and have attractive stuff that impress on test drives...Good looks,decent interior,Good Audio, Good seats,Good history but the real stuff that matter over long term ownerships like Engines,refinement,quality and day to day usability fail major time.
The Audi Q6 has the same gear selector as a 2021 Skoda Enyaq. That's all you need to know about that car
What about the Volvo EX90? Where would it place?
Don't know, haven't driven one yet since Volvo still don't have a date on their press cars. I am guessing at the earliest in February 25.
It’s triple the size ( macan etc really are tiny suv’s ) even the Cayene in front of the volvo is side by side looks like a toddler ( GLS , X7 , Defender 110 & RR LWB are its competitors size wise )

Lightly spec'ed Macan, so that the price does not run off, would be my choice. But I would wait two years - the write-off's are massive on these vehicles, unfortunately. I would not have the Q6 - too expensive relative to competitors - I know, I know, not the same battery or charging capabilities, but you can get a well-well spec'ed BMW IX3 Fully Charged for a lot less money (especially used). Porsche is a "Mulburry Bag" and you pay for the badge, but it is justifiable.
@Khis: perhaps do a brief one-take test of the IX3 one day? Or perhaps to a run down of the used cars market, and make a list of cars to consider for the value/money?

Love all three of these cars for different reasons. Would likely go for the Macan, but the P3 would be a no-brainer if it was 800v and had better charging in particular. Would have to imagine with 800v it would also be a legit 350 mile range car in the dual motor model given 800v generally improves efficiency.
The SPA2 cars will receive an 800v upgrade before 2030 according to the polestar reps at the international launch in Spain this summer
800v is useless. most of the people charge at Tesla supercharger and 400v works perfectly there. ive seen Polestar 3 charging at 256 kw/h at the tesla supercharger

First of all, Electrify America in particular (in the US obviously) is updating their network to be predominately 350kw per dispenser. Regarding 800 vs 400v, go take a look at the charging curve of the current Taycan vs. the Polestar 4 for example - or like for like, the 400v Zeekr 001 vs 800v Zeekr 001 charging statistics. Literally double the average power output or greater in the 800v systems.
Secondly, the Tesla network will likely be significantly upgraded over the next 3 years (when many people will still be driving Polestar 3s) to v4 cabinets/dispensers capable of 500kw. This will obviously help with the P3 from an amperage perspective, but won’t replace the capability of an 800v system.
This is not even taking into account the added efficiency of an 800v system, which would only increase maximum range. You, my friend, are ill-informed.

It's the Polestar 3 for me. I would get a spec with the BW sound system. Maybe the performance option as well If I'm not being frugal. I won't consider the Audi. and if I really want a Porsche, I'll get a real one like a 911 Turbo. I would have money left after specing the Polestar over the Porsche and I'll use the remaining money to fund some epic road trips 😊

I would choose the Polestar hands down. The company is good on OTA updates, and the infotainment is far superior. Maybe this will change when Rivian gets involved as part of the deal with VW. More importantly though, the Polestar is the only car between the three you are reviewing here that offers true one pedal driving. That's like the most enjoyable part about driving an EV. The fact VW can't get one pedal driving right is ridiculous.
Porsche looks the best, has best interior, and charges the fastest. Easy W. Why is EVERYONE copying porsche lightbar across the back now? 😂
The Polestar is the best allrounder, but if you are the driver, and don’t really have a family the Porsche is the best driving experience.
I’ve never seen a car, that expensive, having a look and feel, that cheap. Also the infotainment looks weird, to many informations, not clustered properly, important things in small letters, unimportant things in bigger letters, just not finished. Clearly the Porsche is more expensive, but is the money worth and feels way better on the road. Polestar 3 is the best value and has a nice, simple, reduced interior and a stylish exterior.
Porsche Macan blows them all away!

The Polestar 3 is not a straight competitor to the Macan or Q6 e-tron. This is where the Polestar 4 fits instead.
Polestar 4 isn't an SUV, doesn't come with air suspension and can't match these cars when it comes to charging speed, or real world range. Comfort wise and dynamically it is not in the same league as these. So yes, Polestar 3 is the closest competitor as show in this video and in my Triple Range test.

Drove all 3 got the fully loaded P3. Drove the best, certainly better than the aud and i see about 10 of them a day. Not seen a single P3 in my spec. Makes it more special. The audi like most audis are like those people who go on holiday to the same place every year for 20 years as they think its good but are too scared to actually find out if somewhere else would be better. Such a snorefest of a car. Maybe if you are an accountant and have no pulse but anyone living would be better with the polestar.
How on earth would you not buy the Porsche over the P3? It’s automotive royalty. Don’t like the look of the Q6 and I have been driving Audis for 25 years. Macan 4 for me. Business lease deal is a no brainer. Will be careful with the spec, though. I always over spec and then barely use or appreciate what I added.

I just don’t like that big IPad in the middle of the polestar. All that effort to make a good car and at the end they just put an Ipad on the dash.

Here, the Macan is very, very expensive. It costs about 150 million.
You can buy a Taycan for that money.
On the other hand, the Q6 costs around 100 million, and we don't know when the Polestar 3 will come out.

@@KrisRifa i made calculations but in canada the q6 quattro fully specced out is 900k kroner. the Polestar 3 with a similar spec (LR DM + leather) is 1 million . to give an example.

Well its personal and professional - you probably will keep the car for less then a year and which one gives you the best return for your channel, I could not say. Since the Polesatar is not ready yet - it's easy 1. Macan, 2. Audi, 3. Polestart. Or Macan now and the Polestar after.

My Audi Q6 Edition one grey will be delivered end of this week. Would not even consider Chinese Volvo. I don’t need the Porsche. And I don’t like its styling. Audi is the perfect choice for me.
And it’s easy to program the star button on the steering wheel for speed alert.

Compared the Macan 4S to the Audi SQ6 (same price and same specs at 517 bhp).
Macan looks like a flattened Beetle with an old interior and a middle screen that isn’t sufficiently driver-focused. Also noisy as hell.
The SQ6 in comparison is a real SUV, virtually silent. Auto Motor und Sport reviewed it as the least noisy SUV. Go figure. Of course you have to spec the isolated glass as you have to on the Porsche. And those hard plastics underneath? Same on the Porsche. Finally, the Porsche devalues rapidly. Just look at their Taycan, which you can get for peanuts second-hand.
Sorry guys but the interior is far away from beeing superb by Polestar. The Screen is not at all integrated and looks like a big tablet is used for. Then the usability is far away from Porsche and Audi. To compare the trunks you should take a meter and not stomach feelings. And a bit more know how of the specs of each car is necessary to do such a compare. Rear wheel drive for Audi is not available, ...
