Hey Matt, I’m currently rebuilding a DB11, mines a V12 and can only read a few codes like yourself, as for the no start, my ecu was reset by airbag team, I replaced pyro and had 12v to starter, still no start, had it taken to Aston on low loader and they updated ecu and airbag ecu and it fired up, when crashed the airbag unit sends a signal to ecu and shuts it down. So I think a trip to Aston is your best bet as it needs AMDS2 diagnostics, only at Aston, or McGurk performance as they just bought AMDS2, good luck, Mark

Just a suggestion after watching your previous videos and rebuilds: I think it would be really helpful to start using a checklist. When you get a car up on the ramps for the first time, having a list to check things like wishbones, arms, droplinks, etc., could ensure nothing is overlooked. For example, with the Urus, when the car was pulling to one side, a couple of bent arms were missed. A checklist could help catch issues like that early on.

Matt you are a true legend man.. I'm in my final year of high school and i don't think i wanna go to college.. i wanna grow up to be like you.. mad love man❤ keep doing what you do
23:00 what you would want to do in this situation, is _dent pulling_ , you'd be tack welding on studs to the dented area, and then attaching hammer pullers/slide pullers to _pull_ the dent out area by area by means of repetitive "hammer pulls" until the dent is out... also keep a ballpeen hammer ready to keep the pillar shape when necessary....then cut the welded studs off you tacked on, grind everything down flat, and you'd be good to go after re-priming the area.
For sure that fix certainly made me wince it showed Mat as an enthusiastic amateur at best and a bit of a bodger at worst. As you say there is plenty of specialist repair equipment for fixing dented panels without access from behind. I think Mat was in a bit of a rush to get it fixed. For a car of this value surely it would have been worth taking a bit more time and investing in the right equipment to do the job professionally.
If car is damaged by a dealer before registration then the insurance will still pay out, the dealer or manufacturer then register it for targets and registration counts..you must be 2nd owner unless you got a V55 to register it via a dealer or DVLA which does not sound Like you done...another great project mate
car was probably delivered on trade plates, so would be covered by company trade insurance. documents are usually signed at delivery. requires the owner to sign for car. i can't see the buyer accepting the car and acceptnig liability. in theory mat should be 1st owner.
@xFFSx I think the tech was probably doing the dealer side of their inspection before hand over and crashed it. Only thing that makes sense and I'm sure they are covered by the dealerships insurance
Matt you rock!! Been watching you since day one and just admire the way you’ve grown as a business and as a human being!!! The most remarkable thing you’ve done is with your Dad 👏👏👏👏👏👏You have given him a second life, he is an amazing character 👍👍
I remember watching Mat's video's when he was fixing cars and doing bits and bobs on his driveway, what an incredible journey, well done mate glad to see you achieving your dream.
I’m just a regular guy from Lithuania, but watching this masterpiece of car repair by Matt’s team is absolutely amazing. This dude curiosity leads us to uncharted territory in car fixing. What a fantastic team he has supporting him! Both Armstrongs have something truly special about them. Fantastic job and a great video. Way better than watching Grand Tour.
Could you have pulled out the damage using a stud welder? The inner and outer skins both form the structure. Closed sections are used to resist torsional loads. On aircraft they install doubler plates on top of dented skin ;)
57:31 I think we all loved the cinematic shots last time, Matt had to do it again 😊 Thanks Matt! It’s truly unbelievable what you do and how you’ve come from an Audi TT! 👍🏻🥹🙂
To add, as you are keeping it, please get a PDR tech on the roof, they'll make that panel look new and the car will be PERFECT! I know it can't be seen but the shape of the panel is also strength/crumple zone, + my OCD is killing me!
Mat I used to work at a dealership here in Australia well quite a few actually. Here we have direct access to the state registration systems and at any stage we can register a new car. My thought it the car is insured through the dealers floor plan insurer and then for whatever reason they have registered the car as a new car after the damage has been done for insurance purposes. If damaged in a test drive the car was likely on a dealer plate and then registered as dealer stock demonstrator after the fact. UK systems may be different but typically the Aus system closely follows UK
It doesn't matter where they are made. It depends on artisans and quality inspection. My family and I have bought 2 kislux bags in the past 3 years and I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

Tbf Mat was trying to stick to the 24 hour challenge aspect of the video which makes for great viewing. Not this being the case I’m sure Mat would’ve taken more time. It’s his car, it’s hidden etc so it’s something he can come back too 🎉
@@Ryanharris_17 I'd rather see a quality job than rushing to a time frame, he could make the video the same length or even longer we'd still watch it lol

You should give your dad this Aston, if I had a Dad let alone one like yours he deserves this! You can tell he's sad about this not being his car! Also, fix the damage above the rear quarter window and rear window - putting the panel back on top of the dented metal is naf!
If a new car gets damaged at a dealership before it’s registered they have to register it before sending it to auction, same thing happened with all the VWs that got sent tot action when the showroom caught fire
One minute and already over 500 views. Damn ! Mat is fun to watch, and Tony is so great, dare I use the word adorable to describe him as many have already. They worked their asses off to get where they are, so they have earned any success coming there way. OK, let's watch the show !
its crazy how not too long ago you were fitting fiberglass body kits to a brz and now you are working on supercars. it incredible how far you have come.
I’ve been watching for a while, and your confidence in tackling these projects is still so impressive. I was getting nervous watching you pull all that wiring, and seeing the Typhoon fire up like that blew my mind. Great job so far!👏
Taking the vehicle apart and putting all the different screws back in place at the end - how on earth is that possible? Very impressive... you guys are really skilled. I drive Aston's myself and would never have thought that the vehicle, as beautiful as it is, consists of so many small parts. Thank you for sharing.
100% it was crashed at a dealership with only 29 mile my guess is the rattle was being “investigated” on a road test and the techs wrapped it. They’ve then had a battle with Insurnace etc and potentially had to register it for that or to meet targets for sales etc.
That doesn't explain the SEVERE DAMAGE TO ROOF THEY JUST BENT BACK AND COVERED UP!! JESUS this was way to rushed!! Imagine everything they missed. * AND STILL DON'T KNOW IF THE ENGINE IS DAMAGED. The radiator AND OIL COOLER WERE RIPPED OFF.
Hi Matt, hello from the USA. The only video that I can watch for an hour is yours. I’m absolutely fascinated by what you do. You deserve all the success that you have achieved!
Hi Matt, if you didn’t manage to start the car it is worth trying this. Because the airbags was deployed you have a crash data on the air bag Ecu which will need replacing or reprogramming if you have some which has the correct data for it. Now to start the car with out replacing the airbags Ecu just unplug the 2 sockets from the airbags Ecu and delete the engine faults , the car it will start 99% of the time from my experience.
LOVE the wrap & the carbon trims are awesome, Mat. Gotta' be honest though - for the first time in all your builds, I probably prefer the AM rims. Great work, mate.
That's absolutely nuts and cool that you got the reveal cover and test spec documents. I would never let that car go! EVER!!! That documentation will be worth a ton in the future.
When bonded screens came out on the Austin Montego's in the 80's i spent hour's with a stanley knife blade in pliers with a blow lamp to heat it to go around screens at the scrap yard cutting them out to fit in ones from the auctions . Then they invented pull knives and wire saws to do it faster ...
Totally agree - arbitrary deadlines are a scourge amongst UA-camrs like Tavarish for instance. Taking your time and doing things properly is very watchable!
@@ZaKTricKzzz I know but honestly, 24 hours?! They'd struggle even if they were working on a model they've experienced before. The DB12 hasn't been out 2 minutes so parts will always be in short supply or on backorder - it was a timeframe that was impossible from the get go. Anyway, we're all here for the struggle! 😆
I love the way you and your dad make fixing all these cars fun. And that makes watching your videos from Dobsie, Johannesburg, South Africa more interesting.
Matt have you checked the immobilizer. Lock and unlock the car if you can as you said parts are still missing, ensure the bonnet open switch is showing closed also, amazing what you do👍 the skin under the A pillar that is damaged could probably be pulled by a good paintless dent remover getting it a lot nearer using glue pulls etc.

23:00 what you would want to do in this situation, is _dent pulling_ , you'd be tack welding on studs to the dented area, and then attaching hammer pullers/slide pullers to _pull_ the dent out area by area by means of repetitive "hammer pulls" until the dent is out... also keep a ballpeen hammer ready to keep the pillar shape when necessary....then cut the welded studs off you tacked on, grind everything down flat, and you'd be good to go after re-priming the area.
yeah i was honestly expecting him to pull that dent, rather than punch it out.
@@wcads623 why is it always 24hrs for youtubers? Can't they just say 48 or something instead. It's bizarre lol
👍@@wcads623 or get the expertise in to do it properly..... just like the wrap. would still have been within the 24 hours.
@@wcads623it's rough
If owner never took delivery it would be a unregistered car. Totally normal for dealers
@xFFSx sound logical, insurance is covered
@sercanserj7804 ya I thought it was kind of common knowledge but I suppose not
Matt you rock!!
The first Aston is when I started watching you. You've come so far mate and I applaud you. I'm gonna love this. Congrats on your success mate
Could you have pulled out the damage using a stud welder? The inner and outer skins both form the structure. Closed sections are used to resist torsional loads.
On aircraft they install doubler plates on top of dented skin ;)
Spot on !!
57:31 I think we all loved the cinematic shots last time, Matt had to do it again 😊
Thanks Matt!
1:00:05 new lambo leak!
No I think thats the gallardo waiting to be rebuilt
That's the one he crashed into the lamppost and trees
Matt the cameraman’s Lamborghini. 👍
You should 100% get that roof properly repaired at a body shop because an Aston needs to be perfect 👌
Spot on
Love how matt still has his unit without going to a huge unit with no progress on projects.
It doesn't matter where they are made. It depends on artisans and quality inspection. My family and I have bought 2 kislux bags in the past 3 years and I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
Don’t change those wheels!!! They look epic
I see a lambo in the background! New Project Aventador???? 1:00:06
🔥
Good eyes there, i missed it 👍🏻
on 8:03 too
Is a "lambo" some animal?
Knew I wasn’t the only one
First wrap I've ever seen thats tollerable.
43:31 I f***ing love this channel man. You and your Dad are such genuine mates that are just enjoying life to its fullest. You’ve truly got something special ❤
You have good taste when it comes to choosing wraps for Aston Martin❤🇿🇦
Im still amazed how easy to get most of the parts needed without waiting period on such a brand new model. well done Mat
Come on Mat get that quarter wing and roof repaired properly - not the standards we all expect from our No1 UA-camr. I look forward to seeing it all stripped back and being completed OEM style! Keep up the good work.. 👍
Totally agree. The buckled frame can't be safe the way it is now, it has to be done properly!
@@Professor-Scientist I agree but the title of this video and its purpose was the whole 24 hour thing. Props for Mat changing up the script and being different.
Yep he is certainly on fire!!
In all honesty the original wheels looked better than the new ones 54:26
This time I agree. The stock wheels looked better.
You don’t say no to your sponsors I guess
u can spec a similar style rims from Aston just like Mat's
its crazy how not too long ago you were fitting fiberglass body kits to a brz and now you are working on supercars. it incredible how far you have come.
Looking at that data sheet, your DB12 was the 117th built. The DB12 model is internally known as the AM5, the number 3 means it’s the coupe.
I love watching you and the team. Specifically the relationship between you and your dad, what a team! 🔥💪🏼👌🏼
🇿🇦Johannesburg south Africa well done team this is going to be a sick build 💪👏👑👏
Agreed
I’ve been watching for a while, and your confidence in tackling these projects is still so impressive. I was getting nervous watching you pull all that wiring, and seeing the Typhoon fire up like that blew my mind. Great job so far!👏
Good job !! But I don't like the new weels .
Crazy to see where you come from I’ve been watching for over 4 years now from your TT days much Love from South Africa 🇿🇦 Matt
There is an old chap near me drives one of these as his daily driver. It's a deep burgundy colour with a tan leather. It's so nice.
Taking the vehicle apart and putting all the different screws back in place at the end - how on earth is that possible? Very impressive... you guys are really skilled. I drive Aston's myself and would never have thought that the vehicle, as beautiful as it is, consists of so many small parts. Thank you for sharing.
Wrapping a car even when you don’t know if it will start, thats some faith
Wow. I’ve literally only seen a couple on the roads so far since launch!
The D12 is one piece of art.
And I admire Mat and his mates. Their skills are ridiculous. Especially his dad is such a professional
Yeah drilling holes and using a sledge hammer is part of the repair procedure. Was written off for a reason
You guys make building cars so interesting. I am always happy watching you and your Dad, I love his motivation and support. He is a lovely dad.
Nice project
Got to one of the best looking car on the road
@@martylee9035 Relax man
Hi Matt, hello from the USA.
That Clicking that new fuel line together was the most satisfying thing in the video 😂👏👏👏
Strange that the fuel lines would be that exposed. Good chance of an explosion after a crash🤡
@@minitune7285majority of cars fuel lines routed the same underneath chassis
LOVE the wrap & the carbon trims are awesome, Mat. Gotta' be honest though - for the first time in all your builds, I probably prefer the AM rims. Great work, mate.
58:45 Moonlight Sonata...
That's absolutely nuts and cool that you got the reveal cover and test spec documents. I would never let that car go! EVER!!! That documentation will be worth a ton in the future.
I love Mat's dad villain laugh 😅
40:26 thats what she said
A spot welder dent puller would of been a good bit of kit too help pull small too medium dents out of panels Mat.
Mat is just brilliant about his fixing, but most fantastic is how he is with his dad, bless you lot for life. Keep it up!
DB12!!? BRAND NEW!
Brand new second hand 😂

That roof repair LOOKS SKETCHY AF!! Definitely not up to spec.
Beautiful car but I prefer the OG wheels if I'm honest 😎👍🏻
Matt you all are great i love every single video you you all are legends keep up rhe great work cant wait to see db12 finished ❤
Was about to boot up F1 2020 but after i saw the noti it can wait an hour 🤣
Boom

So many shoddy repairs, why don't you just take more time and do it properly? We'd all watch. A car like this deserves time and care.
Totally agree - arbitrary deadlines are a scourge amongst UA-camrs like Tavarish for instance. Taking your time and doing things properly is very watchable!
He’s got loads of cars to fix though he can’t just spend months on one
@@ZaKTricKzzz I know but honestly, 24 hours?! They'd struggle even if they were working on a model they've experienced before. The DB12 hasn't been out 2 minutes so parts will always be in short supply or on backorder - it was a timeframe that was impossible from the get go. Anyway, we're all here for the struggle! 😆
Some people like to challenge themselves mate.
@samrayner2080
It's all fake wake up

I love the way you and your dad make fixing all these cars fun. And that makes watching your videos from Dobsie, Johannesburg, South Africa more interesting.
matt dad "this is mine enit" 😂😂😂😂😂😂 real og
32:41 why’d i think the bottle he was holding was gonna be a new “charcoal flavor” y-food 😂😂😂
Hey Mat, best greetings from 🇩🇪
Can I actually buy this car when finally fixed?
Matt have you checked the immobilizer. Lock and unlock the car if you can as you said parts are still missing, ensure the bonnet open switch is showing closed also, amazing what you do👍 the skin under the A pillar that is damaged could probably be pulled by a good paintless dent remover getting it a lot nearer using glue pulls etc.
Mat's accent is so strong it turned my sugarless black coffee into the most posh est tea
Matt isn’t very posh. He’s a normal lad. I guarantee tho, as he gets older, the people he’ll mix with will inadvertently change his accent. He’ll always have that slight twang tho.
Why not use a welding pin puller on the roof pillar that way you didn’t have to drill the inside panel?
I dont know of one for aluminium...mine is copper pins, but for steel only...I think ally sheet would be too soft for that method.
What a shitty work done on that roof! You'd better had brought that car to a body shop
Exactly what I was thinking. Imagine you buy this car for like 150k pull off that cover and see that shitty repair underneath.
Matt, you're an absolute inspiration!
After all these years of watching, I'm now looking at buying my own crash damaged car.
The only issue is I probably won't be able to afford to buy the parts 😂😂😂😂.
Best start cheap.
