    3:49 that final scream changes tone/pitch as it just escalates deeper, and deeper into the most evil & glorious fucking sound imaginable. Does it live, while performing and moving around committing to the performance visually.       WeWantYouToStay Consider how long he’s been doing this. Watch the video where he is recording the screams for Catch 33. Its been almost 30 years of that. If anything, we should all be happy and grateful that he still pushes himself. One of the greatest frontmans of all time in metal IMO.

      I've seen him live twice at the house of blues. He didn't seem as into it as he does here with tons of people in the audience. Not mad tho. Shit was life changing making eye contact with jens while moshing and screaming the lyrics in sync. No homo lol

      They blend together. The guitars and the bass. Being in the same octave actually. I'd even go as far as saying you really hear more the bass than the guitars. That low end density especially. As someone who's played guitar in a band, with time I started really noticing how *unimportant* are guitars lol (fellow guitar players, don't kill me!). I used to think that everything else is a filler but in reality... it's the guitar that's the filler. Yeah, no shit, Sherlock. In order to cut, the guitar itself must sound kinda weak and sometimes even shrill, but hey, what sounds good in your bedroom has almost a 100% chance of sucking in a live/band setting.

    I think Jens sounds great, especially since the last LP. I think he's exploring a slightly lower register. Some how it's more intense, deeper. It's perfect for Meshuggah.

      He can't do the "shouting" vocal technique that used to be able to do a few years back. He said that it damaged his voice so he has to do this lower register scream. But I agree, it sounds pretty good.

      Really? I think it sounds hoarse. He has trouble hitting the higher and lower. On top of that his scream fades in parts where its supposed to be a full scream. I know it's a live performance and he's probably out of breath, but I can still hear lots of air coming out but it's just not vibrating his vocal cords. I might be wrong. But Don't get me wrong I'm a die-hard meshuggah fan. I have all of their albums on CD.

    Meshuggah played in New Delhi, India in 2010.They started the gig with Rational Gaze and the crowd went wild. One of the best live performances I ever witnessed .

      @@irena7777777 I agree. Don’t get me wrong. Fredrik is a legend and rightfully so, but his solos are all starting sound repetitive and phoned-in over the last couple of albums. Per brings a fresh energy and I was actually kind of bummed when his stint was over. Amazing musician.

    Holy crap....! I did see Meshuggah live back in the really early 90´s in Sweden, Skellefteå. Think it was like 1991....performing in a small school eatery. Man, that was a blast! They played in conjunction with Entombed.

    I was right at the front for this as my mate wanted a good spot for alexisonfire who were on after this and thrice I think. I'm glad I was as they were one of the bands of the weekend and were so loud they blew my face off!

    I saw them back in Nov of 2016 and they closed with Future Breed Machine, what an outstanding performance. The energy they give off is like no other

      Per Nilsson is an absolute freak. While he's technically adapt in so many different modes and scales the guy can actually write a decent song. Usually it's only one not the other.

    I feel sorry for all the hard core long time fans because I've just found this band and this is the second te I've heard this masterpiece. Just like Tool, I'm excited to experience Meshuggah ripen over the years.
