Seeing Jens Kidman in a fucking Zeppelin shirt... It feels good to see the evolution of genres over the last fifty years or so, spawning stuff so diverse and so iconic that a band like Led Zep can say they inspired a band like Meshuggah. Weird, but really cool to me.
This may sound cliché, but go see these guys live. It has been 3 years since I saw them live playing this as the last song of the set and I'm still blown away at what they can make you feel. It's been said over and over, but the wall of sound that hits you is real, you don't listen with your ears but with your chest, it's the best I can describe it, it is f-ing unbelievable. I may attend better or worse concerts in my life, but Meshuggah will always be on a category of its own. OMFG.
Yeah, Meshuggah should be experienced live at least once:) Sounds so much heavier live, hah.. Seen them a few times over the years and been top tier everytime.
I love how around 4:16 it shows the whole band trying to keep from being ripped apart by the heaviness and then shows tomas back there just chill as hell. He is one with the groove
I dont think it's pssible to get sick of 2:26. It was absolutely the highlight (for me) of the whole gig, the last time I saw them. With the added mega-experience bonus that their lights person is likely one of their most devoted fans and perfectly times every single part and transition in all its polymetric detail.
One my favourite Meshuggah tracks, so surreal, trancey, energetic, happy and calming, all at the same time. At one concert, it sent me into a happy berserker state, tears streaming down my face. People nearby looked worried, so my face must have looked weird but I was just too full of trancey fierce happiness to contain it.
Usually, when waking up at 5:50 or earlier, some people might have a coffee, breakfast and chill-out day. But sunrise with Demiurge in headphones means a very good day to me....
Demiurge comes from the greek word "demiurgos (greek: δημιουργός)" which means "the creator". In Plato's book "Timeus", which has to do with the creation of the world, demiurge is the technician, as well as the creator who designs by his kindness the universe, the motion of the stars and planets and the rest of life. He managed to gather the unorganized and rude materials and then to create the best possible world for everyone, which would look alike demiurge's kindness and form. Enjoy!.
@@sabrinakrisb4672 it's truly accurate description of demiurge, according to Plato's Timeus. Maybe you know another interpretation of demiurge. I'm letting you know that demiurge is a greek word, and also I told the story about demiurge of Plato's in order to give a story about Plato's perspective and link it with Meshuggah's relative song. Maybe we're talking about a different perspective, and that's why you refuse that perspective... What perspective you're talking about that makes you disagree with mine?...
@@sabrinakrisb4672 I meant that someone can interpret the lyrics their own way.I interpreted it using the idea of the Gnostic Demiurge while Marinos interpreted using the idea of the Platonic Demiurge and someone who doesn't know what a demiurge is will understand the song differently
Everyone complaining about the repetitiveness of the song, to me it's what makes that song so fucking awesome ! If the songs lacks riffs, it gains heaviness ! It should be the anthem of the swallowing of this fucking world by a black hole
This batshit mentality that a song is "heavy" because it lacks any sort of talent or riffs is completely retarded, i'm sorry. Listen to Dark Are The Veils Of Death by Candlemass, which has one of the heaviest riffs ever put together, and tell me it's not as heavy as this. And keep in mind that it was made in the 80's.
Akhamesh I'm sorry, "Dark are the veils of death" is just not heavy enough. Omega Massif's "Aura" has a very discernable riff, however, it doesn't have a vocalist to ruin it's heaviness. And it was recorded in something that wasn't a garage. It metaphorically takes color away from your perception of the world and makes it hard for you to breathe.
Gonna be honest. Never heard of this band until I watched a Bill Burr interview. AND DAMN WAS HE RIGHT! THIS BAND IS FUCKING AMAZING! The drums and guitar and the heavy growl make me head bang so fucking hard. MESHUGGAH!!!
I found this song a few months back and this is by far my favorite song of any band, I keep playing this all the time especially whenever I need to relieve stress.
I had never heard of them before and showed up to day 2 at a festival massively hung over. They kicked off with Demiurge and my buddy spilled beer all over us from the concussive shock when they began. That was many years ago, I think Koloss had just been released. Been a Mehugghah-enthusiast ever since. :)
@@filippians413 this is kinda basic. I'll try to explain this the best I can, but it's 3 in the morning and I'm tired af. The more dense an item, the heavy the item is. Was listening to Doom Eternal's soundtrack and it reminded me of this song. Would be cool if they slipped a Meshuggah song in Doom.
Mick knows some guys of the band personally so it's fair to say he got inspired, that's good enough for me
The guitarist is the guest musician on Mick Wolfenstein OST.
Meshuggah doing doom music since 1987
@@kusumsharma979 Pantera did it first in terms of "writing for doom"
Fredrik did a song for Wolfenstein called Herr Faust its the part where you take control of the nazi robot in new order.
I'm more amazed to see Lovgren wearing a Willie Nelson shirt :P
Who is Jens Kidman?
Stairway to Valhalla
This may sound cliché, but go see these guys live. It has been 3 years since I saw them live playing this as the last song of the set and I'm still blown away at what they can make you feel. It's been said over and over, but the wall of sound that hits you is real, you don't listen with your ears but with your chest, it's the best I can describe it, it is f-ing unbelievable. I may attend better or worse concerts in my life, but Meshuggah will always be on a category of its own. OMFG.
Best concert I've ever been to! I will never miss another one when they come close by!
Yeah, Meshuggah should be experienced live at least once:) Sounds so much heavier live, hah.. Seen them a few times over the years and been top tier everytime.
There's so much emotion in the vocals, he really went all out on this track. Respect
Honestly, I do my homework online listening to this stuff. It helps me relax.
Takes the test stress away
Shit like this is on my playlist for when I'm writing, it makes me focus
Hey its been a year I hope I reminded ya this song have a nice day!
Me too
Good for you.
Perfect song to play Solitaire to
never try minesweeper!
Perfect music for next nike ad,just do it
Its great for dumping bodies in a swamp at 3 am
If by "Solitaire" you mean "Masturbate tearfully to gory pics of your dead ex-wife"... dammit, ya beat me to it by 3 months!!
It`s great to solve really complex mathematics.
I love how around 4:16 it shows the whole band trying to keep from being ripped apart by the heaviness and then shows tomas back there just chill as hell. He is one with the groove
2:26 **Breaks everything in room**
in slow motion like a giant berserking sloth.
Lmao with this comment...

I personally find this music WAAAAY cooler than Bleed.
This song is better for sure but bleed is famous because of tomas haake dude never skips leg day

bleed is way overrated, literally all of nothing and catch thirty three is better
@@kttyfl1p there are like 4 other tracks on ObZen that I like more than bleed tbh. Combustion is perfection
fair, combustion is great
I dont think it's pssible to get sick of 2:26.
It was absolutely the highlight (for me) of the whole gig, the last time I saw them.
With the added mega-experience bonus that their lights person is likely one of their most devoted fans and perfectly times every single part and transition in all its polymetric detail.
very mindful
Try listening to Metallica after this. It sounds like pop.
Metallica sounds even better after listening to djent shit.
imagine thinking meshuggah is shit LOL
i'm sorry djentlemen.
Try Amon Amarth later, you guys will like some melodic death metal.
but i actually liked this song, even tho i kinda hate obzen and clockworks.
After master of puppets they always sounded like pop

Meshuggah: Yes.
Heavy ? ? ? But its djent, its not brutal death metal or death core.

Meshuggah are probably the only band where you'll watch all 5 members headbang to a different time signature.
Enjoy!.
I think they are talking about Yaldabaoth, the gnostic demiurge who created the world as a prison for the souls.
@@spawnofchaos9422 probably. I haven't heard of this story. You did good telling me there's this one.
@@sabrinakrisb4672 Well the meaning behind the lyrics is complicated so you can't blame him for understanding from another point of view
It should be the anthem of the swallowing of this fucking world by a black hole
agreed...this is trance magic from beyond the veil of reality
Akhamesh
You didn't get my point...
Whatever...
if this kid want something more talented go to dragonforce or iron maiden...meshuggah is awesome!
In all seriousness though, Meshuggah is very good for studying. It gets to a point where it's so loud that you can't hear it. Very comforting.
Jens Kidman is the Kratos of metal
Look up before the dawn, their singer LOOKS like Kratos, its absurd
facepalm486 Your name kinda suits you lol. You're not very open minded.
Lol what did I start
@Tim, I totally agree :D Tuomas Saukkonen DOES look like Kratos :D
TangeClown ohhh goats never tryed that before my have to give that ago xD
Gonna be honest. Never heard of this band until I watched a Bill Burr interview. AND DAMN WAS HE RIGHT! THIS BAND IS FUCKING AMAZING! The drums and guitar and the heavy growl make me head bang so fucking hard. MESHUGGAH!!!

I found this song a few months back and this is by far my favorite song of any band, I keep playing this all the time especially whenever I need to relieve stress.
Whenever you’re feeling down, crank this and be free
Reason why I'm here now
Absolutely, without doubt, the most badass band to have EVER formed.
And they started the djent phenomenon in the metal world which is pretty lit in its own right. Most of what I listen to is considered djent
Hearing this song live was a spiritual experience
I had never heard of them before and showed up to day 2 at a festival massively hung over. They kicked off with Demiurge and my buddy spilled beer all over us from the concussive shock when they began. That was many years ago, I think Koloss had just been released. Been a Mehugghah-enthusiast ever since. :)
I flew to Gothenburg from London to see them this year, felt like a religious pilgrimage 😂
I Saw them not too long ago. The man that stepped out of the building was not the same that stepped in.
BRO THE INTRO ‼‼ that's why i love groove metal

"honey it's our anniversary, let's put on Demiurge for old times sake" - Meshuggah fans in 2040.
Just another masterpiece by the masters. Heavy as lead, hard as diamond.
Diamond weighs more than lead
@@filippians413 this is kinda basic. I'll try to explain this the best I can, but it's 3 in the morning and I'm tired af. The more dense an item, the heavy the item is. So let's say 1^2in of diamond is more dense (stronger) than 1^2in of lead, the diamond will weigh more.
I'll look into this to see if I'm wrong or right, this is just what I think/thought was right

It feels so good to see Fredrik wearing a Great Indian Rock T shirt, the only Rock/Metal festival in India that was badass (and existing) at that time.
