- Hello Darlings, Happy New Year! I'm finally back after a lovely holiday with family ❤️ Thank you all for being so patient. I hope you enjoy this weeks video, I had heaps of fun with it! I have no idea if this makeup look is accurate, I have no makeup skills or the correct tools! Please forgive me if I butchered this look but I hope you have fun watching it anyway!

Although I love your vintage look I don't think the "modern look" was bad at all, either way you look beautiful! I had no idea your hair was so long !
I find it so interesting how some people really suit the modern look, and others (like myself) look far better in a classic or vintage look. It certainly takes a different skill set to do modern makeup! I see so many clothing trends from the early 2000s resurfacing too, which horrify this old millennial 😂
I feel like there is a resurgence of early 2000s and the 60s and 70s. I don't mind the early 2000s... I'm pretty sure that is still most of my wardrobe anyways (also a Millennial), lol. Each person should wear what makes them comfortable and what they feel looks good on them.
haha right? i feel like 2000s stuff makes me physically cringe, it's still too soon for us - those super tight low rise bootcut jeans make me shudder 😂🤢

Yea I’ve been seeing so many things come back that should not be. 😅 I tell my daughter I wore those clothes when I was little. I was born in 1988. 😂
@@emmaleebuzzard1023 me too! I saw high waisted thick ribbed slinky bell bottoms in a matching set at wall mart. Chop about 12 inches off of that high rise and we’ve got 6 th grade year!
False lashes have been around since the 1910s, so actually very vintage 😅 and super popular with 1940s Hollywood starlets!
That is true,however it was not common or available for women until around the 1960s and even then i believe it was only common in the late 1960s or mid 1960s.
American here. Most adults in their 30s and up don’t really try to copy the trends over here. It took us 20 years to grow our eyebrows back because we when we young pencil thin brows were popular 😂. I loved your video and can say with absolute confidence that you did 100% better than I could have done!!
I’m so glad I never followed many trends. My eyebrows are intact & I never did the tanning beds lol. Those early 2000’s trends were awful

I love this because it 1. gives such good perspective to being caught up in what's "trendy" and 2. it feels like this would be an authentic reaction if we brought someone from the 1950 to today, lol. love your content so much!
I never was into makeup or hair trends, but was so glad to completely disregard them when I started dressing vintage! Your best look is what you feel comfortable in!

The funniest thing about this was you calling the brows “sharp” so many times- when the trend is that they’re actually “bushy” and “fluffy” and the opposite of the very sharp defined brows that have been trendy the prior several years 😂 this is absolute concrete proof to me that you are a real time traveler, it sounded like someone actually from the mid 20th century analyzing current makeup 😭🥰

The lips, yes, but people still had stylized brows if a little more natural looking.

Would love to have seen James's reaction 😆. Good to see that not everyone knows what they are doing with makeup. I never wear makeup unless it's for a special occasion, and I go minimum with it. I prefer to focus on skin care instead.

This was so fun to watch! I will say most of these trends are from 5-10 years ago 😅 the new “thing” (I think - it’s hard to keep up!) is a clean girl look - more minimal, which I think you would have liked better!

I love this! So funny. I really appreciate that you often make do with what you have (without going out and spending a ton of money to buy products--so aloe vera and eyeliner brush) and still manage to have fun and create lovely videos and looks. What stood out for me was your genuine smile in the vintage look versus...hilarious but bewildered pouts in the modern look. I'm also not into the modern look in makeup or home decor. It's great if people are, but it's comforting to see others who are baffled by these things. We have a bungalow with separate rooms, wallpaper, wooden accents and vintage wooden furniture as opposed to those around us who knock all the walls down to create an open-concept space and paint everything white! Looking forward to more videos, but do take time for yourself when you need to with your busy schedule. Love from Canada!

True Story: I have never ever managed to put on a pair of false lashes (I was trying for wedding look). I don't go out of my way to dress vintage or look vintage, but I'm not overly into modern either. I just wear whatever clothing or make up appeals to me.

Sage confusing lip filler with botox made me smile. Don't ever change 😆I liked your modern look before the overlined lips, it was very 60s to me but I don't know how anyone has time to put on false lashes. I've tried and not only does it take forever but the glue smells and it just never looks right on my eyes. I would have loved to see you try contour as well as eyebrow wax for the new soap brow look.

I prefer the vintage look haha!😅 I have been dressing vintage, myself, for the last 7-ish months. I love it. I tried to be trendy for a while, but it was impossible to keep up with everything. Now I strive to look like Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn, and Debbie Reynolds, and I'm happy that way. Here's the thing that really got me: I could feel cool when I was dressing modern, but I never felt pretty. Now that I've been dressing vintage (40s/50s), I feel pretty and classy...that's something that never used to happen.
When you busted out with “Why?!!!!” I cracked up laughing. This was very funny. I think all the trends are pretty silly. But then I don’t wear makeup. Talk about natural! 😄

I still do modern styling some times (but I'll incorporate my red lipstick, 40s jeans, etc) and I follow some modern beauty gurus so I'm still in tune with what's current. Honestly, the modern hairstyle really suited you and showed off your pretty face so well! That combined with your normal makeup would be so stunning in my opinion but everyone looks best dressing however they are most comfortable.
I don't dress or do my hair/makeup in a vintage style but I don't care about trends either, I think most people don't, it's only the internet or with young people that it's important.
I like some popular trends like highlighter, but you can definitely look natural with modern makeup. But I agree about the red lip. A beautiful red lip is a classic.
