Guys this is a 1950s routine. You don't have to follow all these steps or use these products. Especially if you have acne-prone skin! However, I must say Sage's content is really entertaining!!!

THESE ARE BASIC STEPS.
A little makeup artist hack: if for some reason your eyes begin to water while applying makeup, or just wearing it, look up with your eyes and sniff. I learned it from another artist, and it's saved the makeup of a lot of my actresses.
I do that when I push back my tears.
My Mom was a teenager during the 50s and in her 20s during the 60s. This is exactly what she taught my sister and me! Ponds, witch hazel, and Oil of Olay are still a part of my routine and have been since I was 16.
I wish my mom would have taught me about skin care. She will just put her hand lotion on her face. She was raised in a household were makeup was frowned upon. They were also very poor, so no disposable income for vanity products. I learned a lot just by watching UA-cam. My cousin taught me a lot of tips too.
It's not called oil of Olay since the 90s it's olay now

I just love this!! My Mom will be 77 next month and today we just got her transferred from the hospital to the care home where she has a lovely little room with her own bathroom and we can decorate it to her taste. I asked her to come up with some items she'd like us to pick up for her. She said she wanted an eyebrow pencil, hairspray, and red lipstick...the reddist lipstick I could find ❤️ I do love that woman so much ❤️. And you look stunning as always 🌹

How sweet! I wonder which lipstick you bought for her?? My Mom, who is in her late 80’s, has worn Cherries in the Snow and Wine With Everything since she was a teenager in the 1950s. These are both kind of dark-ish reds. I noticed she was wearing the Wine color this summer and it made her lips look dark, receded, and thin. I found a softer, brighter color for her, Revlon’s Softsilver Red, and she loves it! It brightened up her face very nicely. I hope your mother is doing better.

Thank you for bringing to life what my loving grandmother told me when I was a child. She always talked about the fifties . Back then she said alot of women sewed there own dresses. She grew up in a time when not everyone had money, so she had to make her own cloths. Her father died when she was ten and started working when she was 13. This video brought tears of joy. Thank you! I miss my grandmother.

Lord! As a girl with rosacea and pissy skin, my face would BREAK ALL THE WAY OUT with such a routine. I wash my face with soap every two to three days and moisturize. That’s it. And my skin is clearer than it’s ever been. You look FLAWLESS! ♥️♥️♥️
What kind of soap and moisturizer do you use?
@@saschamayer4050 I use the oatmeal calming serum from aveeno and the basic bar soap. It’s called basic.
@Trinity M I’m 100% Mexican. I have a lot of melanin. I use sunscreen when I’m outside in the sun for extended periods of time. Outside of that, no sun screen. I’m 35 and often get told I look like I’m in my early to mid 20s. I got 16 the other day. Not everyone’s the same, I guess.

Absolutely love your channel and I am having a great time watching all your video's! I've always said I would have loved to be a housewife during the 1950s! When all my friends were making plans for college all I wanted to do was get married and have kids. So at , gulp, 18, that's what I did! And I can say that my husband and I will be celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary this year! Crap, now i just admited how old i am 🤣 I so wish UA-cam was around when I was first married because I would have loved to find content like this. Again, I love your channel!

Very authentic video... even the clock was vintage! I remember my mother applying cake mascara and red lipstick during the fifties. At 4:00, there are white gloves at the top of the left side of the screen.

Love your videos! I have always been told I am an old soul. This makes me feel right at home!
I keep repeatedly coming back to your content as I move more into vintage style. My grandmother taught me exactly this entire routine when I was a teenager. I do a very much simpler routine to this on most days: noxema face cleanser and ponds moisturizer only on days like today where I've done a face mask just prior and after bathing. Pin curls in, scarf on head, and go about my daily routine at home when I'm not going anywhere and not expecting company. My face feels so wonderful right now and my short hair is doing it's thing while growing out and setting without getting dirty or being everywhere. 😂 I just finished up a crock pot meal, a small home improvement task, and some cleaning all while feeling very much better about myself. And I'll be ready for hair and makeup tomorrow after washing the sleep from my face!

Great video on the 1950s. My grandparents told me years ago about life in the 1950s, they said it was a great time in those days. They told me prices were alot cheaper and the cost of living in the 1950s. 😀
Absolutely lovely, it's basically a no makeup makeup look (Except for the lips lol) of the 50's.

I think its so important to put ourselves in the shoes of someone from another time. Another perspective. While I dont use this exact routine watching this video and others like it have inspired me to come up with and stick to a good face care routine. Its the little things and I think your channel sends that message

Very interesting and relaxing to watch! My first face moisturizer was Oil of Olay (still had oil in the name in the late 1970's). I think the double cleanse is a great idea, when I do it I use an oil base first, then soap and water, but whatever works best! I think the makeup is so classic, still a good look even for today!
