    How on earth do they get jurors who are willing to give up months of their life to sit in a courtroom and then expect them to (possibly) have to also give up weekends? Jurors have been there 6-7 months but I get what you are saying. If the prosecutor has her way it will be closer to 3.5 years. The judge only wants them to give up their weekend so he can stay face. I followed the trial at first it was a mess. He would start till 1230PM break for 45 minutes. If a holiday was on a monday he would take a WHOLE week off instead of maybe just the following Tuesday.

The witness can't even say yes or no properly, she is gonna say anything so she doesn't seem like a snitch. She told the police young thug put a gun to her head and then changed her mind now that she has to sit on court face to face with this gangster. The prosecutor and DA investigators are dumb, but they aren't the police, and a DA investigator testing and calling a witness is not harassment. Look up the legal definition of harassment the judge issued a material witness warrant for her arrest, really shows you what type of garbage person she is.

    Weekend court maybe if the attys were holding up the trial but it's not counsel, it's the the judge only holding court 3 or 4 hours a day and 3 or 4 days/wk seems like and I'm only exaggerating a little. Plus he calls for a comfort break every 45 mins (comfort breaks are at least 30mins).
    Then as they start getting any scrap of momentum going, "Well folks this seems like a natural stopping point" what??? "Let's plan for 1230pm for a 120pm start time" 🤦‍♀️omggg lol. "At this point in time" I might go insane if i hear about this point in time just one more time. And based on what 'evidence' state has presented so far, the only real RICO criminal in Atlanta is DA FANI WILLIS and her cohorts. And I'd almost bet my life she knew YSL would never be convicted... (cause they're a group of rappers that have to maintain an image ffs) and I truly believe it's all a publicity stunt (probably why she pushed so hard for no bond and set up a snail's pace trial) HOPE THEY SUE! And fani faces charges for her actual criminal operation and misappropriating funds. My 2.5 cent summary of this 💩😂
    And if the judge didn't have the time or health to not only hold reg court hours but really go hard to get it done given the state decided not to break it up (again for Fani to make a big splash politically as with Trump for other political reasons) then he should've recused himself, but no a controlling narcissist will let everyone else just suffer around his schedule. Tbh I can't wait to see all that DAO's dirty deeds exposed. This is just... gross overall.

Its been what 6 months for what has been equalivalent a 2 month trial. Mr Steele I feel for him, this is a 3 ring circus mainly cause of the judge. You are right the judge is the reason why this has been a mess. At the pace he was going I think this would go till Mid 2027. There has to be a catch why all of a sudden he gives a damn. I think its cause the jurors are now flat out pissed off. I hope they are getting compensated well. I know Peter has brought up a time where financial concers could be why somebody doesnt want to be a juror. This has been a mess. I normally hate defense attroney but I feel for Mr Steele. He could write a book why this should be a successful appeal.

      @josephboza7448 sadly, the jurors are getting like $25/ day. And Ms. D'Williams (one of the defendants attys) they set at $55K/yr while not being able to take any other cases to make $$ (and that was the INCREASED amount for the atty-- in 2024 smh! Meanwhile the administrator that oversees that for the state refused to raise it higher but didn't want to disclose SHE was making several hundred thousand/yr. To top all that, the judge has been disrespectful, unprofessional, childish... from day ONE (the way he threatened jurors/attys with jail, paper writing, lunch buying) so we can't eve say we understand his behavior bc this has been a long unusual trial. He's been consistently awful since the beginning! I hope GA's JQC thoroughly reviews this trial when all said and done.
      And I feel like he's now trying to rush because with all the bad press this DA has gotten, it's not the big push or political boon hevand they'd expected it to be they've just made Fulton County the focus of the whole country-- and not in a good way, they appear and are corrupt asl. I would NEVER live and pay taxes there. And imagine how Jeffery Williams feels given how much 💰 he's paid in taxes there and all the GOOD he's done in the community since making it only to be treated the way he's been! The whole thing turns my stomach and should offend anyone who believes in justice and fairness! Scary... and ppl think it's all good when they go after someone you may not like but when they start pointing those fingers in others' directions, folks will feel way differently about these publicity seeking prosecutions.

      @josephboza7448 Oh yeah this is also the same DA who they think took federal funding to the tune of half a million earmarked to build/open a YOUTH CENTER FOR GANG PREVENTION IN ATL ironically... but no such center was opened and she is unable to account for how those funds were spent. HUH?? Wait she also paid her bf nearly $700k 😳 lmaoo... anybody but the highest LEO in the land there would be in jail!! (And hopefully she will too cause the feds don't play about their $$) regardless of the current administration 💯

      @@SeasonedCrouton I think you are right. Not only is the DA a mess but this whole case is a mess. 25 a day isnt enough for a commpensation when these jurors have put their lives on hold for 6 months.

    Hello, I am glad you are covering this case... I have a question:
    So if they impeach the witness "Murphy", does he become part of this trial, or does he get sentenced the 200 plus years they said he would get before he made a deal, even though he's served his time from deal he made.

    • @sallycinnamon5370
      @sallycinnamon5370 28 днів тому +1

      I think if the deal goes away then they have to try him. But it is too late for him to join this trial. He’d be tried separately. But they get to use his admissions from the deal at trial. It’s up to the judge how much more time he has to serve but there is a good chance he would go back to jail.

    • @newname4405
      @newname4405 28 днів тому +1

      That’s not what impeaching a witness means, idk y ppl think it means a witness getting in legal trouble for false or inaccurate testimony, kinda wild tbh to see how prevalent this sorta idea is, or to see that people have such confusion around trials to where automatic sentencing for alleged bad testimony would be ever a thing, but good I guess to watch stuff like this and learn..
      Impeaching a witness specifically means to challenge something a witness says in order to show they are lying or being inaccurate about something by showing their own contradictory testimony (usually, or another way of showing this), in order to show the jury they can’t believe the testimony. Impeachment is mainly a part of cross examination and is a fairly regular thing, again either to demonstrate something not addressed in direct or to correct inconsistencies etc. Impeachment can be on any of these bases: Competency of a Witness to Testify, Oath or Affirmation for a Witness to Testify, Impeachment by Bias, Hostility, Interest, Impeachment by Prior Inconsistent Statement, Impeachment by Recent Fabrication. Only in the case of a prior inconsistent statement is a party allowed to impeach its own witness (and that’s generally what it is when showing how they said something different prior).
      Now, yes, there could be consequences for blatantly false testimony, and we don’t know the specifics of the plea deal, but it’s definitely not an automatic thing, like impeachment does not mean a plea deal is revoked. Since they got up and testified, they’re generally gonna be allowed some Lee way, especially since the impeachment ideally should be curative to any harm done to objectionable statements by the witness. IF a plea deal was revoked, which can’t be unilateral - the state would petition a court to revoke it and make their case for why - then whatever deal the person got is off the table and they are fair game for whatever chargds they originally dealt with w the deal. No new charges are added and they still have the presumption of innocence as any defendant would, except sometimes admissions made as part of a deal can remain in evidence which naturally would be bad news for a defendant.

      Crazy they are trying to impeach Murphy after NEVER showing him his own interview. Of course he wasn’t consistent. The defense showed him the tape and he’s testified to the entire thing.

    • @ObiAmajoyiSrMD

      Revoking his plea is only reasonably possible if
      (1) they can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he was lying when he made the proffer and took the plea. And the state really can’t prove it. Was he lying back then? Or is he lying now? Only he knows.
      (2) if he took the plea under “duress,” under coercion, or when he wasn’t in his proper state of mind, then they can’t revoke his plea. And there is already enough to suggest that he may have been under duress to answer a certain way when he took the plea. As seen in the proffer video, His attorney kept squeezing his arm to get him to answer questions a certain way. Plus he alleges that he was high while in prison and also on the day he took the plea, so they can’t really punish him for lying when his mental capabilities were impaired during the plea agreement as a result of the drugs.
      He’s a free man. Plus, putting him on trial again and having him serve a lifetime sentence will cost the government 10s of millions of dollars over his lifetime. It’s cheaper to let him be free.
      Impeachment backfired big time . Impeaching their own witness doesn’t help the state if they can’t prove to the jury that he is 100% lying now. Plus - even if he is lying now, he could have ALSO been lying back then 7 years ago! So the states star witness Walter Murphy aka “DK” pretty much wrecked the case for the state. Lastly, he made the state look pretty bad in the eyes of the jury, like they were bullies towards him. They sent him to prison, he did his time, and when he got out, they sent him back to prison on the Rico just to use him as a pawn in this case.
