    Thank you for titling this video the way you did. Too many of my CPAP friends are afraid of being off grid no matter how times I return with great stories. I’m forwarding your link and you can convince them that reservations are not needed.

    Just got my EcoFlow Delta Mini a couple weeks ago and I can get two full nights on my Resmed Airsense 10 with the heated tube and humidity settings at their usual and plugged into 110. And when charging the mini at a 110 outlet, it has fast charging that charges it from zero to full in about an hour and a half.

    Thanks for this demonstration. I ended up going with a DC adapter and the GOLABS i200 model (which has the same battery capacity as their R300 but some other minor differences) because I could get one for $119 on a special sale. I don't use the heat or humidifier with my CPAP at home anyway, so 11% drain per night is about where it should be per your video. That's fantastic! I could make it a whole week potentially, but would never push it past 3 or 4 days at most. Thanks again.

    I did a video on my RockPals 300W using my CPAP. It works great. Usually get 3 nights out of it. I don’t use the humidifier and run it through the DC adaptor. Used it in Moab and at KOAR without issues.

    I run the ResMed AirMini Travel CPAP, using 12V power on a Paxcess 350W generator. I've gotten 5 nights out of it...but I don't like the humidifier or heated air. I guess I thought everyone knew that running a 12V power source through a power inverter always consumes more power. Everything I run of my portable power supply is fed directly off USB/USB-C or 12V. I never use the 110 outlets...including my fridge. It makes a huge difference.

    Great vid. All my CPAP configuration questions were confirmed. I have a 12v adaptor and get great results from my Jackery 240 and EcoFlow River Pro. Tend to leave the humidifier off during camping trips. Thanks for taking the time to make this informative video!

      Great video! It's always helpful to see what others are using for their CPAP configurations. The Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series looks like a fantastic option for outdoor camping. With its massive capacity, fast recharging, and waterproof technology, it seems like a reliable choice for extended trips. Thanks for sharing this informative comment!

    Thank you so much for this video. I've been using a CPAP for 10 yrs. I'd plugged my old machine into my Tacoma via the 12volt accessory port. Always had a good truck start in the morning. But was still nervous I was overstressing the battery.
    So, upgraded CPAP machines and bought an Ecoflow battery. Plugged in CPAP... 8 hrs, 80% battery gone by morning. Yikes! Seeming validation I'd been a fool with my old machine.
    Until your video. I got out my old CPAP, plugged in the 12volt power supply to the Ecoflow battery, 8 hrs sleep, about 5% use of battery. BOOYAH!
    Thank you, thank you, thank you! The backcountry just got more accessible. I am a happy 4Runner driver again. :)

You're more than capable of building your own. 😉 Your DIY videos have also been guides on a few projects with the 4R. Keep on keepin' on. Cheers

    My wife and I both use CPAP so that doubles the problem. I went with a Odyssey AGM battery from Quadratec. Testing at home it would run my CPAP for 7 days so I knew it would power both CPAP’s for at least 2-3 nights and still start our Jeep in the morning. Following 2 nights in Rubicon Springs the battery still spun the Jeep over like nothing had been hooked up to it. I had one connected directly to the battery and the other one thru the 12V power port of the Jeep. I used 50 foot extension cords from the garage. Both CPAPs used the factory power supplies. The battery cost $397 but should have a useful life at least 10 years and possibly out to 15 years. I needed a good battery for my winch anyway. So there you have it.

    • @bobheygood2924
      @bobheygood2924 2 роки тому

      So just to be clear, you were using the AGM battery installed in your jeep.
      No other batteries involved ?
      And you tested when you were camping.
      How does the garage factor ?
      CPAP factory power supply is 12 V ?

    Good job mate
    I had this exact problem six months ago. I ended up with a bluetti EB 70 which cost me about 780 bucks Australian
    and has about 716 watt hours……
    My machine draws 100 W
    And on flight mode where the humidifier is dialled down, it draws 75 W, so you get about 9 hours…..
    Or 7 hours on full humidifier- but then she’s empty and you will need to recharge it fully during the day every day you’re out there

    I’d sooner get a LiPo4 12v with BMS and have it charge in the 4Runner while using my own cig or inverter. The redarc charger/isolator is an option as well for the front end… might end up with a trolling motor box instead to make it easy to bring in the tent and keep the dirt in one area…. Work in progress.

    Have to admit I am surprised by the Bluetti, I have heard a lot of good things about them, but too pricey for me. I have several Rock Pals and like them a lot. I have a 250, the older 300 version, a 500 and a 1000. (I buy them on sale to save money). My only complaint with the Rock Pals is they just have a gauge for power level and not a digital read out of watts coming in or going out or battery level. Maybe that is why they are cheaper? We usually take the 300 when we go out but may try the 500 on our next outing.

    You didn’t perform an equivalent test with the Bluetti as you did with the others. You should had tested your full CPAP on DC with the third test. And you should had done a fourth test without the humidifier and heated tube for an apples to apples comparison. I have the EB55 and tested my full Resmed Airsense 10 with and without humidifier and both AC and DC. I also tested my Resmed Air Mini with both AC and DC. The mini runs the waterless humidifier cartridge. I can easily get 3-4 nights with the Mini, especially on DC.

  • @dougofford6567
    @dougofford6567 Рік тому +1

    Please be aware that some CPAP machine esuch as Resmed require 24 V DC. So you can't plug it into the 12 V output without a Resmed compliant 12V to 24V inverter.

    • @jeffsecules184

      That must be either and old or a new thing. I’ve had this resumed about 2 years and it says it can take either 12v or 24v. I’ve been running it on 12v almost the whole time I’ve had it except when I’m traveling and staying in hotels. I’ve got a AGM battery under my bed at home with a smart charger plugged into AC and the resmed connected to the battery with a cigarette plug. If(when) the power goes off, I continue to sleep unless it’s longer than a 6 hour outage.

    I have a travel Cpap. It’s the size of a beer can. Even running on 120 plug it only pulls around 10watts. My EcoFlow River Max (600W) pulls around 8-10% per night.
    I use it in tandem with my SetPower RV60D and it pulls it down 30% total on an 80° day.
    Best thing about EcoFlow is their insane fast charging. I can charge from 0%-30% in 20 minutes. 0-100-% in 75 minutes.

    Wow my Jackery 500 watt kicks butt cuz I just did a test with my cpap and without turning off the humidifier and plugged into a/c outlet I got 2.5 nights or 20 hours. Then I turned off my humidifier and used the 12v d/c adapter and I got 7 nights at 8 hrs per night. I'm happy with my jackery's to say the least. I do plan to upgrade to the 1500 watt at some point but as you know these units average a dollar a watt in price so 1500 watt = $1500.

    I'm using a ResMed Airsense 10, (no humidifier or heated hose), Resmed 12vdc to 24vdc converter, and two 18ah 12volt SLA batteries in parallel, (36 ah). It gives me 3 nights CPAP, end voltage of 12.53volts, might give a 4th night but don't want to stress batteries. My Battery Minder smart trickle charger recharged batteries in 24 hours and switched to maintenance charge. I use this setup for power outages and short term motorhome camping without shore power. I'll try connecting same two batteries in series, for 24vdc, to power CPAP directly without current draw of converter, might get two or more nights CPAP.
