I've been using r9 290x for more than 6 years and damn this card still kick ass. My avg temp is at 74 at full load tho
try replacing the thermal paste and make the fan curve in msi afterburner a bit more aggressive, it might be louder but cooler temps, also if the heatsink and fans are dusty that'll affect temps and sounds, more dust means it'll be hotter and louder

might be too late to say this but lower the radeon settings in general for example it doesnt need to be running at 1000mhz to get the same fps i get same fps even tho my gpu is set to 920mhz lower the volt as well i get like 60c at 100% load and my gpu is r9 380

I really liked my r9 390x but it broke a year ago, now it didn't turn on anymore and I ordered a 1650 gddr6 PNY now, I almost don't play anymore, will it be okay to draw?, for Photoshop, for 3d graphics, blender instead will it be bad for sure? Maybe I had to look better? I'm sorry that I didn't spend little but previously I had seen middle-range prices and they were even more expensive and I thought this, the 1650 at 250 euros was good. I'm especially interested in drawing and some movies or words but this one doesn't need gpu,thanks

So... i got the gtx 1650 GDDR6 version...was it a bad idea?, knowing that r9 390 doesnt exist anymore (same for the 770) in my country and the other ones are really expensive (im talking about the RX 570 and RX 580)

That's the card I have, been using it since 2013. That card is a beast. It can still run any game I throw at it in 1080p and 60FPS.

Dude dont even get me started on it. I paid it 400€ 6 years ago and it died like 1 month ago, so now i had to go for a gtx 1650 which thankfully isn't that bad compared to the beast but it was pricey af for what it offers (290€)
Just died my R390 4yo and I replace it with 1650 with the same price of 300€, very sad.

Fun fact, if you get the 1650 gddr6 version, and then overclock it you will get the same performance as the 390 did with vulkin. And even slightly higher while being vastly superior in the other titles and in most games.
But the 390 is still nice.

@@crazytech5755 true, but if you can afford a 390 for £130, you might as well spend a little extra and get a 570 or 480 which will have better native support for newer games at much lower power draw. I think it might have been a viable option in 2015 to 18, but if you think about it, if someone really did want a 390, they would have to have a pc with budget specs as the 390 isn't a brilliant performer. Because of the 390's high power draw, it might not run stable on a budget 500w or lower psu. On the other hand, the 1650 is a low profile card and can definitely run in a budget pc. The 390 *was* nice, but there's not much use for it now from a budget user's standpoint.

@Joey temperatures are low, lmao. Fermi was hot, more than 100° on blower models. Btw everything cooler than 90° is not considered hot - it's normal temperature which will not damage GPU. VRM temperatures less than 120c are also fine

I have been playing with r9 390 since 2015 and i don't even feel like i have to upgrade as long as i stick to 1080p.It's great card overall thanks to its 8 gb vram.

Такая же ситуация, проблема в том что так как у gtx 770 2gb она очень сильно зависит от оперативной памяти, надо ставить двухканальный режим и обязательно частоты должны быть 3200мгг, и наче сильно просидает фпс до 25%
