What is really amazing is really learning how devs see the game versus the player. The flashing loading screen is quick loading (you quicksave and quick load fast), it skips whatever line characters are saying (if he does it 5 times is because the charactyer talking has 5 lines).
Also he waits not to hit a specific time, but because the securitron update demostration has scripted animations and by waitng the game advances 1h and basically skip it/simulates them (there's like 5 demonstrations so he does it 5 times)

Imagine having 18 months to make a fallout game and the result turns out to be one of the, if not THE best rpg ever.

Fallout 4 is best

Josh Sawyer is an absolute legend, really want him to make another game like this
Check out Pillars of Eternity. It's pretty similar but not FPS.
@@avengermkii7872 Yeah ive played Pillars, was really fun. Still want more of a solo adventure rpg like fallout tho

hes surprisingly down to earth for the director of a cult classic like Vegas. the man deadass chats about the inspiration behind some parts of the game online
This series where developers react to people breaking their games is absolutely amazing!
My favorite part is how much fun the devs seem to be having, watching this.
This game is so close to my heart and you can clearly see it how much developer cared about their game .
"Bugsidion" cant belive this is the first time I've heard that.
And it’s a dev who said it too 😂
Imagine you bring a guy back from the brink of death and 10 minutes later he's changed the whole wasteland forever.
News story: "An angry mailman that was too stubborn to die is so angry he learned to fly"
That sounds like a Leslie Knope newspaper headline.
The dev said "Bugsidion" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Just replayed this gem of a game, crazy to know they only had 18 months. Hats off to the devs thanks for helping creating some truly amazing childhood memories.
This guy completed New Vegas on as much as a time crunch as Bethesda gave Obsidian to make this game.

It was originally planned to be an expansion for Fallout 3.
Not Bethesda's fault that Obsidian leads don't know how to manage a project, lol.

Really nice of them to give praise to the modding community & speedrunners.
We have to make our voices heard that we want the next fallout to be made by Obsidian
Let's hope that Microsoft has eyes and ears.
Obsidian has tons of their own stuff going on. doubt they care about making another Fallout even with both being owned by microsoft now.
They did its called the outerworlds and it still cant touch new vegas
You need both Bethesda and Obsidian for that, Obsidian can't carry it on themselves, especially not after losing most of OG New Vegas writers.
@@GHOSTRIDER373737 the bethesda writers are even worse than the new obsidian writers
What is really amazing is really learning how devs see the game versus the player. Right at the start they learn they could click through menus that quick, when they probably spent hours clicking buttons to make sure they all work. Warps your mind on how someone might actually play it when you're just making sure the button works.

Josh Sawyer is a national treasure and one of the best RPG system designers in the business. His GDC talks are so insightful even as a player.
Crazy how Obsidian made the best Fallout game in less than 2 years.
It's not the best one
they should react to mittensquad's "can you beat new vegas"
its probably a bit edgy for them, but it would be fun to see.

The devs sound like such nice people. Really hope they can make another fallout game. New Vegas is the best fallout, and my favourite game of all time
You should join Josh's streams on twitch
@@joycemerlynjm is Josh one of the devs?
most of the times game devs treat the games they make like a baby, nurturing it and helping it grow. Tho they always have to cow-tow to the people upstairs demands and sometimes it changes a great game into not a so great game. Some times its always the publishes fault for forcing things in the game that weren't meant to be there.
@@Mina_Angel luckily new vegas is the way it is. Call of duty has fell harshly to what you just said, sadly :(

This is the most wholesome of these that I've ever scene. Devs care, but are so awesome about the glitches, but also commend Bathesda for what they did. How awesome! They just love the game, and still do, and any extra content for it.
This game is still alive and well. It is so heartwarming.
