I love seeing a beautiful woman, a wonderful child of God like the rest of us, react to this song. It is a "timeless, priceless" piece of musical perfection most assuredly. It holds up well after 50+ years and cannot be judged harshly.
I got to see Robert Plant on a solo tour back in the early 90s and all I can say is what an amazing show !! Enjoy the show with Alison Krauss .. Alison is concidered one of the best voices in bluegrass and traditional country ever. You are in for a treat !! Enjoy !!
Led Zeppelin is my fantasy concert that will never happen in this life. But an old friend dragged me to a small rock club called Johnny D's, years ago, to see Alison Krauss and Union Station (who I never heard of). If someone wants to drag me to Toas next month, i'll go.
The singer Robert Plant wrote the lyrics, he said the lyrics are for each person, to interpret them for themselves. This song has been considered the Number One greatest rock song, for over 50 years. The live version at Madison Square Gardens (1973), it really beautiful to watch, a beautiful Blues song from that same concert live is Since I’ve Been Loving You.
You are just reading into that. It is not about that at all. If you listen very hard, you will hear the rock music. That is all the song is about, lol.
Woow Stella 👍🏼 Led Zeppelin "stairway to haven" 🎶Now is it really good music 🎶 this is the song as have the same effect on people as medicine has 🎶🎶 It's from 1971 and is still on of the popular songs in history 🎶 Led Zeppelin is the ❤️heart❤ to Rock and hardrock soul/blues and the ground to many band in the worldwide 🎶. If you find more Led Zeppelin just listening because all are good music 🎶❤️🇸🇪❤️🇳🇬❤️🇸🇪🎶
It's too bad You Tube has taken down the video from the Madison Square Garden concert. I recommend the song No Quarter from the Madison Square Garden concert next . Also I recommend buying the concert DVD. It's titled The Song Remains the Same.
Critique on an overly materialistic society, suggesting that spending your entire life collecting material possessions is a fruitless endeavor, as it won't get you to heaven, and you can't use any of it when you get there, anyway. Robert Plant (Lead Singer) wrote that about the song.
Thank you for doing the original and still the best version. The live one that everyone seems to be crazy about is okay, but very overrated. You got the best version for your first impression, and that's the way it should be. Nicely done young lady.
I really appreciate @tektoniksarchitects2757 comment as it's positive and well meaning. Stairway To Heaven is the ultimate example of how great musicality can transmit the most ridiculous of messages. I've appreciated this song for almost 50 years, but the absurdity of the lyrics finally caught up with me, and I had to remove it from my playlist. There's no such thing as a stairway to heaven, and even if there were, there's no way it could be "bought" other than the price that has already been paid. And there are no stores in heaven as there is no need for anything in heaven, otherwise it wouldn't be heaven. "There's still time to change the road you're on," no one knows when they'll take their last breath, but yes, if in that last breath they acknowledge the real truth, they will find themselves in heaven. So, why wait?
I have a feeling the writer of the lyrics lit up a joint after the first two lines, from then on they made no sense. If he had said my hovercraft is full of eels, I would not have been suprised. Luckily the music is great.
This is that lyric vidoe that gets the line wrong. It's "The tune will come to you at last", not "The truth will come to you at last". This song is about the music, it is not about some mystical lady, lol.
The meaning of this song is notoriously ambiguous and Robert had a few themes in place, but the imagery connections are largely left to the listener. They are interesting and thought provoking, if you are engaging, but the meaning of the song is not overtly defined.
It's ambiguous because it was written at Headly Grange. If you really nerd out, roll your sleeves up and deep dive into the events that took place there in the late 1700s...a case could definitely be made that this song is about Mrs. Harrison and the tithes....and the riots that almost tore the structure to the ground. Perhaps the band studied the history....or maybe there was some paranormal influence? The "hedge row"...The Holly Bush, referred to as The Bush by the locals, was a local tavern.
Only just heard this song? Nah! Does she live in a cave with no internet? It's been being played on the radio, films, TV, podcasts and UA-cam for 42 years! 😀
#1 Rock song of our lifetime ...... have heard over 500 times, never old. .... I just wish the lyrics would have been better planned ....... some, 'drug induced' IMO ...... What does the 'songbird in the tree by the brook' have to do with anything in this song? It doesn't.
Perhaps the "Lady" is a metaphor for the narcissistic and selfish arrogance of human nature we can all fall victim to on our journey through life! We tend to put off spirituality or worries of our afterlife in favor of worldly satisfaction and pleasures? There is still time to correct your path if your mind is open to the truth, and you may yet find your stairway.
Best band ever, heard this song in 1972, when I was 12 years old
One of the greatest songs ever recorded in my opinion. Thanks for reacting to it!
You really jumped out of the realm of comfort there. Such a unique, brave, bold take. One not shared by many... imo...

One of the nicest and grounded rockstars. Still lives local and drinks in a few pubs round where I live. What a man

Thank you for not interrupting the song with babble. I agree with Tektoniks below. I feel the general theme is that change is always possible.
Check out the live version in concert of this song, it’s incredible!
More than a song. For me...a religious moment. 🎸🤘🔥
Bottom line. This song is considered One of the best if not the best Rock and Roll song of all time. PERIOD.
Yup.
That's what everyone says. But I'm 25 and this is the only Zeppelin song I've never heard all the way through. My mind just refuses to do it.
