Normally I can't stand covers but you must react to Heart's cover of this on the Kennedy Center Honors tribute to Led Zeppelin. Performed in front of the 3 remaining members with the son of the drummer playing. Absolutely stunning.
I especially prefer Led Zeppelin playing their music, but heart did do an exceptional job, far better then others have. Of course they had an orchestra & choir, otherwise maybe not quite as epic. I think the emotions from the three, was more so, because of Jason preforming. Plant had invited him, & Jason told him he couldn’t make it, Plant is Jason’s Godfather.
The song became legendary after this performance , i have 4 versions of this song including the very 1st live performance for the BBC to a small audience of students
You’re a little right in the duration of the song having had an impact on this song’s popularity. There is a whole generation of high schoolers for whom Stairway was always the last dance of the high school dances. The local DJ would always be under strict orders to end the music at midnight or 11 or whatever hour. The supervising teacher would be happy as long as the last song, usually a slow song for the couples to slow dance to, started about five to four minutes before the hour, then they’d be able to start cleaning and closing up. Only this song would last past the hour and the DJ’s and kids would have proudly put one past “the man”. The teachers didn’t really care too much because the last couple of minutes would start rocking and the couples would naturally start to separate and instead start rocking out on their air guitars. It was also an easy way for the supervisors to pick out which couples were getting too hot and heavy in their embrace to notice the music was not appropriate to slow dance to. Anyway, mix memories of high school dances, embraces, and hormones, and you have the greatest rock song ever.
There are commonalities in many of the songs that are generally regarded as the "best" rock songs of all time, such as this, Bohemian Rhapsody or Free Bird as examples. Be sure to do "Kashmir" live from Celebration Day Concert. They got back together for that concert after almost 30 years of being apart. The drummer is the son of the original Drummer. Robert Plant sounds even better pushing 70.
Great song. I suggest that one listen to studio versions of Zeppelin songs before live version for three reasons. First, Zeppelin didn't strive to replicate studio versions when they performed like most other bands did. They frequently improvised during performances, and it was incredible. If you don't know the studio version, it's difficult to appreciate just how amazing that was. Second, Page was an absolute genius in the studio and much of what he did couldn't exactly be replicated live. How did you get the video reversed? Jimmy is RIGHT handed! This is a great example what to expect at a LIVE concert, songs not the same as the studio albums!
Led Zep had so many groupies,it's ridiculous. Women loved especially Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. Next, you should react to "Kashmir," preferably live, followed my "Since I've Been Loving You," live at Madison Square Garden, which is classic.
Try Emerson Lake & Palmer. They are another 70’s true super group. “From The Beginning “ from their Trilogy album is a good start, but you will be opening Pandora’s Box
In my opinion, for what it's worth, Jimmy is definitely top twenty, maybe top ten but, there are just sooo many great guitarists for this era you kinda/dorta have to say that of the top five, all can be number one. For my money, you just can't beat Stevie Ray Vaughan for the blues, Mark Knopfler for rock and Roy Clark OR Glen Campbell for country. But, that's just me . . .
Haha wow your off your rocker dude, but yes your opinion. Top Twenty? How about top 1 You need to listen to every Zep song out there and come back and tell all of us here Page is in the top 20
Yes it's the greatest song hut the funny thing is Robert Plant hates it. He hates it so much he paid a radio station $10,000 to stop playing it. Also you need to react to the band Heart cover of it. Believe it or not but this was never released as a single.
I do like Stairway to Heaven. It is not my favorite Led Zeppelin song, in part due to the fact that after this song was released, the radio stations played it to death, and I mean to death. I also think that is part of the reason Robert Plant stopped performing it. I also heard that he actually paid a radio station not to play it. I can only listen to it once in a great while anymore.
This Video first irritated, because Jimmy Page plays his guitar not like Jimmy Hendrix (left side)...than I saw that the hole view was upturned .. why?

Next, you should react to "Kashmir," preferably live, followed my "Since I've Been Loving You," live at Madison Square Garden, which is classic.
What song in the world could stand up againt this ? There arent any.
Try Emerson Lake & Palmer. They are another 70’s true super group. “From The Beginning “ from their Trilogy album is a good start, but you will be opening Pandora’s Box
Just a note - Jimmy is not left-handed
Yes how can you play this in a mirror LOL. Yes Jimmy is a righty...
Anyone notice.. Guys when they're with their girls are ALWAYS spoiler alerts lol..
Studio version first
Robert was so hot (still is in my opinion)😊
"Whole Lota of Love" is a better rock tune IMO.
Nice channel 👍 welcome 🙏 😊
Itis 4 songs im 1
Absolutely brilliant and amazing……. But not their best , try dazed and confused… LIVE
12:41 ... Most people would say and have said the opposite.. that Mr Plant has NOT aged well...
He does have sexy hair!!
Plant used too wear women's blouses back n the day
Yes it's the greatest song hut the funny thing is Robert Plant hates it.
Just wait for more Jimmy Page !
I've seen jimmy page twice the guys not from this planet 😮
It is so weird to see it reversed. A left handed Jimmy Page is odd to see.
Robert Plant hated this song and refused to sing it in later years
Show more of the video put yourself in the background
The Led video is reversed. You might want to fix this for future reactions.
This Video first irritated, because Jimmy Page plays his guitar not like Jimmy Hendrix (left side)...than I saw that the hole view was upturned .. why?
My,question, what will you to look like 50 years from now?
I would be dead
Jimmy Page = GOAT, indeed
Ponja fulero, si te estas comiendo eso, le tenes que prender velas a Zeppelin!!
They just quit touring because of the loss of John Bonham the drummer
I always enjoy your reactions, but I can't stand with reversed video!
so dark ? and?open your ears then
