"Eddie & Alex Talk about why Sammy was no longer in Van Halen and what happened between Eddie and David backstage after the show ( originally Aired Late 1996) I found this on the end of my 1992 recordings but as it was pointed out to me it was actually after the 1996 music award that this was recorded. Thanks" - Спорт
Bill Hader is looking for this video🤣😂🤣😂
Came here to say this. lol
I hope he found it lol
That video sent me to the VMA vid and then to this one 😆
“His work ethic.. sucked” -Bill as Ed
"No judgment! No judgment!"
I like when Alex chimes in to clarify something no one was confused about
Sitting there, chain-smoking with brittle bones, talking about beating Dave's ass! lol.
no offense Eddie van Halen you complain about what everyone else does on stage but yet you do the same exact shit
And everyone rips on Sammy for talking…they all forget what the brothers said about Mike and his playing when they booted him out of the band, then tried to erase him off of the original band album covers, then had him sign his royalties away to rejoin with Sammy for a disastrous tour. It’s everyone else’s fault but theirs….
@@thomassliwinski4104 don't get me wrong van Halen was a great band and great music but what seems odd is that Eddie and Alex were always complaining about what Sammy and even David lee Roth did both on and off stage but seem odd that Eddie and Alex were doing the exact same shit both on and off stage
@@tenbroeck1958 Yeah, there was no point in the history of this band that EVH could have beat DLR's ass.
The only person in this whole drama who ever comes off clean is Mike. Dude just wanted to play and have a good time amongst all these drama queens.
Yup. Mikey never talked shit about anyone ever.
He’s a classy guy @@ronnie_5150
Mike was always clean as a whistle and the VH brothers never did anything but crap on him. They were the common denominator in all the problems in the band that carried their name.
VH did Mike wrong...
Absof'nlutely ... Mike was solid.
Bill Hader's imitation of the two Van Halen brothers is spot on.
Yep, 9.5/10
@@Desstrik Oh?? I'm behind. lol SNL or su
no judgement.
He does it a little too high pitched
yeah, work ethic , they said that about Sammy too. Under Dave they did 1/2 the albums with cover songs. Under Sammy, only one cover in like 4 or 5 records. .
I wish Eddie spoke as happily as he looks when he’s playing
Seems like nobody can get alone with van Halen brothers
Bingo! I wonder why… 🤔
Valerie got alone with Eddie a bunch.
Roth is a handful though. Too many egos in one room. But hard to imagine having to tip toe around the brothers.
These brothers deserve to work with Paul Stanley, the drama would be off the charts!! Throw Gene Simmons in the mix, too!
@@miker1721 "If you’re willing to walk among us unvaccinated, you are an enemy."

Eddie imitating Dave has me in tears lol😅😅😅
I don’t know if Dave said that or not, but it was a perfect impersonation
@@remyfuller is the song Aint got nobody
I think Michael Anthony knows the truth about everything that happened. If he wrote a book about it, I would believe him.
There is a good reason Sammy and Michael are such good friends. They BOTH knew exactly who the VH brothers were..... bad guys !
too much alcohol and bad outside influences
I'm sorry, but Eddie isn't going to whip anyone's ass.
Exactly, I believe David Lee Roth is a long time martial artist. He would have mopped the floor with Eddie, sorry.
Well, no, of course not... because he's dead.
Ed also looked terrible at this time
@@paulflores7251 Dave has a 2nd in karate. he even featured in martial arts magazines back in the 80's.
I love Eddie. He’s my favorite guitarist of all time. That being said, always remember that every story has two sides and the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle.
Three sides. His, his and the truth.
Sounds like they were just tired of being around each other, and couldn't resolve the worst they saw in one another. Really just senseless, but they wouldn't be the first and they won't be the last.
These were very feminine years for Eddie
Correct, but regardless of what was said, David was and will always be an attention whore. He can't help it. Just my opinion, though. He was a hell of a front man with VH in the early years.
@@mariedanielson9544huh?
Michael is the only sane, honest and decent one amongst all of them.
You left out Sammy Hagar! He and Michael were the victims of Eddie and Alex!
Zippity zappity zoopity zip o" boomolah zippity zapppity bop. Quote: David Lee Roth.
I'm pretty sure (99%) the Van Halen brothers were on some coke right there.
I’m amazed how petty the Van Halen brothers are?
Looking back at these interviews with the brothers it's more evident who the problem really was in VH and it wasn't Dave or Sammy. Eddie gave us a new way to look at, listen and play the guitar, but his ego was way too big especially without anyone to push back on him (you get VH III as a result). The way they ended up treating Michael Anthony and the ridiculous assertions by Eddie about his talent and bass playing abilities...so sad that he was so miserable.
Sammy treats Michael like a brother so it's nothing against Sammy. Dave may be an issue but I don't think he hated him.
So sad that the guy who was well known for that big smile through his solos became so bitter.
Thankfully at the end, he mellowed out.
I gotta agree with him. Roth shouldn't have been dancing around like an idiot while Beck was giving his acceptance speech. Embarrassing for the whole band. Embarrassing to watch.
They did wind up having a tour with Roth before Eddie passed. And I saw it. It was great! RIP Eddie
They had more than one tour with Roth after Sam
@@joe7346... 3 & 1 Album
@@joe7346 2?
The root cause of Sammy leaving the band was Van Halen's beloved manager, Ed Leffler, had died and the new manager(Ray Danniels', the husband of Alex's wife's sister) revealed to Eddie and Alex that Sammy had been paid more on their Right Here, Right Now Live album. Danniels also revealed that Sammy had a "Golden Parachute" if the band broke up Sammy was guaranteed a solo album with the record label. Obviously, the VH brothers were super pissed and made Sammy pay them back their fair share, which Sammy did..and the solo album deal was also cancelled.
Naturally, the VH brothers knew they couldn't trust Sammy ever again and they started treating him like shit, taking back control of the band, telling Sammy to change this song, redo this track, etc. In the end they drove Sammy crazy until he finally flew back to Hawaii then Eddie called him up and said it's over.
Now, stepping back let's look at Ed Leffler(the good manager). Ed knew how to manage the band, he went to bat for them, everybody loved him. In Leffler's eyes Sammy had been in the rock business 10 years longer than VH and yes, Sammy was practically running the band by himself, with the VH brothers basically a train wreck. Why not give Sammy a little more for the work he was doing?
If Leffler would have lived the band would've stayed together he was the glue to it all.
@@TerrencesClassicRockCorner24 Neil on drugs? This sounds like bullshit. So does Alex in the 90s for that matter.
Alex's sister -- not Eddie's sister? Did Alex have siblings that weren't Eddie's siblings?
@@SaintD382 Thanks I meant Alex's wife's sisters husband I'll make the correction.
@@TerrencesClassicRockCorner24what does "practically drug free" mean ?
@@TerrencesClassicRockCorner24There is absolutely zero about this in his book. Lots of weed and Alex drunk stories in the early days but that’s it.
I am waiting for Alex to enlighten us on a few things. I know it will be worth the wait!
Now that Alex Van Halen is retired, he is now a minister. I was reading about him two years ago on Wikipedia. I said to myself, what? He went from being the coolest drummer to being a minister? Incredible. And he also officiates weddings.
A perfect fit for a lying phony...
Eddie is a talent of a generation, I graduated high school in 1984 so his guitar was everywhere, and I enjoyed every moment of it, but with the fights with Roth, Hagar and Anthony, the only common denominator is Eddie, there's 2 sides to every story.
yeah if only Eddie could lie as well as he played believed guitar, maybe someone would believe him.
So I graduated in 86
Dont forget Alex
I am your age, played in a lot of local bands doing bars and clubs years ago and one thing that is consistent in all bands for the most part is musicians are all a holes and usually don't get along.
So nothing would surprise me.
@@Me-qp8vz glad YOU know the Truth, lol,
The Van Halen’s are real swell guys. In their world, they have no problem with you as long as your Van Halen.
That`s not true just look how Alex is being a jerk off towards Wolfgang.
I met my hero EVH during the monsters of rock tour.... big mistake he acted the mean drunk that day. I can't imagine dealing with his attitude for a decade or more. It still bothers me to this day.
Oh man, so sorry to hear that, man. Was it a meet n greet, or were you working backstage?
Thats where my love affair with them began. Monsters of Rock 1988, LA coliseum. I’ll never forget it.
Never told Roth he was back in the band but appeared on MTV with him....what a disaster this was!
Hader fuckin nailed it. Lol
Hader is a legend
I'll tell you EXACTLY what happened. Drugs.
Drugs happened.

Alex really does a number hootin’ on that cigarette! 1:53
With those leather lungs you’d think he’d have been a singer!
David was crazy... Imagine trying to reign him in and make multiple albums over years...wow.
History has shown that Edweird and Alex Van Heineken are just as crazy, probably more. Look at the bigger picture.
That's funny I'm sure Sammy says the same about vh. Not to mention Michael!!!!!
Sammy sucks
David IS crazy, still the best front man regardless of vocal range etc
DLR is the fuckin’ man lol
One word. Egos!
Sammy had a bad work ethic? Nobody believes this.
>specially after Roth,.lol~
He's talking about DLR, not Sammy
umm, mikey told us that in 1998 with the interview from the 3 tour
Sammy is one of the hardest working men in show business!
I sure as hell don't!!
YAY someone put this video back up!
First time I ever seen it lol
Let's see...Eddie and Alex bitched about Roth, Eddie and Alex bitched about Michael, Eddie and Alex bitched about sammy, Eddie and Alex got rid of Gary. I think honestly, EDDIE AND ALEX ruined Van Halen, NOT the past members
Yeah at some point you have to check the common denominator and realize that the problem is you. Lol. Too late now
I think honestly - you're correct.
Exactly have been saying that for years. Ed and Al's lies fucked VH that's all.
Keep in mind.
Sammy and Dave didn’t get along either.
So, the brothers were not totally off
Yeah, Ed, he was garbage, and now he’s in mothereffin heck
That's a messed up deal. And to say Sammy had a bad work ethic? Eddie was really going bonkers about this time. Lots of drugs, lots and of alcohol, but big brother didn't try to step in and stop the mayhem. Strange.
💩
He's talking about Dave's work ethic, not Sammy
He said the same about Sammy .
His band, toe the line or get fired, that's what happened.
The brothers made decisions together. It was never just Eddie, with the exception of helping out Michael Jackson.
Now all I can hear is Bill Hader's impression of Ed and Alex, lol.
I loved coming back to watch this, every few months... LOVE THIS BAND and these brothers.
No judgment, no judgment lol
When you get high and drunk every night till you pass out it has an effect like groundhogs day. You’re stuck living the same day over and over again while the rest of the world keeps turning.
Such a waste of exceptional talent on a couple of losers, it’s just sad that it took so long for us to get see all of these different interviews and see it for ourselves, we all wanted to believe eddy and Alex so bad back then. I love eddies music but his greed and narcissism coupled with his idiot brother is what really killed this band, his many addictions were just the accelerant.
dude it's his band to begin with
What are you talking about...???? It's VAN Halen..David was straight crazy with a capital K dude. Do you have any experience in life at all??? Anybody can see that.
Howcome people this ignorant are allowed to reply.
You are right .Eddie was fucked up and Alex stood by him.
It sounds like Eddie has a mouth full of walnuts, and talks like an old drunk 🥴.
And can you put down the cigarette for five seconds...!
Was a Great guitar player, but a lousy talker/communicator.
Two incredible talents. Who repeatedly killed what could have been an even greater band legacy.
I don't think so when you have to work with hardheads like Roth and Hagar you're going to have issues
@@acrocks6893 thats funny because there aint any complaints from anyone else thats worked with Hagar over the decades but everyone thats worked with Ed there are plenty. Sounds to me like Ed was the hardhead.

They did what they set out to do. No explanation needed from them. Ed is gone now and Alex enjoys retirement. ADKOT was a good album that nobody gives near enough credit. Great way to end a band. If Ed's health wouldn't have gotten so bad we would have probably seen atleast 1 more album.
I'm pretty sure the deciding factor for me is how they dirted Michael Anthony. That dude was VH through and through and his backinh vocals were an integral part of their sound. And they $#!+ on him. Sorry but I'm believing Sammy and MA. Still great artists and love the music regardless.
Van Halen brothers were crazy .
Thank you very much for posting this! Been wanting to revisit the brother’s interview regarding the VMA’s for a long time! 👍

4 consecutive number 1 albums with Sammy Hagar , his work ethic was fine , there is something more to this than they are telling ....RIP Eddie =VH=
Watch the Dan Rather interview with Sammy. He has done so much in his life other than music it’s insane. Can’t see he had back work ethic. Maybe just didn’t want to hang out with these guys, especially Alex.

Sammy never had a bad work ethic ... As much of a head case Roth was... The brothers no doubt take the number one spot here. Once ed leffler died nothing was ever the same...

Saw Van Halen twice, both times at the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, SC. 4-16-1986 (Bachman-Turner Overdrive opened) and 2-29-1992 (Baby Animals opened). Missed them by one night in 1988. I was in the US Navy and we were out at sea and pulled in Saturday. They were at The Scope in Norfolk, VA the night before.
Eddie does a good Dave, he even does the cheek thing
When you work with someone for years in such a close proximity with a character like Dave, One can easily mimic and mock his antics and personality with ease Eddie was spot on!…
History has shown that Edweird and Alex Van Heineken are just as crazy, probably more.

I remember when this happened and my thought always was back then,if u werent ready to have a full on reunion, then u should have never teased us by bringing Dave out onstage with u at an awards show. Imagine if KISS,when they came out with Peter and Ace in full makeup at the awards show and then didnt have a reunion show? But im glad that years later they got it together n gave the fans what they wanted. They went behind Hagar’s back to record with Roth, then blamed him for quitting. They kick Roth to the curb after going behind his back and hiring Cherone and blamed him. They fired Michael Anthony after denying him royalties and blamed him for not contributing. It was always everyone else
The beginning of Eddie being very sick addiction wise. I thought for sure he was going to die in 04. Glad he found sobriety at last.
And lived another 16 years.
Egos + Egos = Bad Breakup every time.
Sammy tells the real truth .
That’s debatable. His autobiography is full of lies, easily disprovable.
He used his book to rat out on his friends wether it's true or not . He also used it as a smear campaign against the Halen Bros and being a hypocrite about it . I'll give you two examples . It's OK to screw around and dump his wife because she goes nuts . Think about that from my point of view I've personally known of married couples where one member isn't sane . Marriage is til death do you part NOT til you don't approve of your other half . Yet he rats out on the Bros for getting "orally serviced" underneath the stage . OMG !! Rock stars screwing around while touring ! The book was supposed to be about HIM . Another example , Captain Candyass doesn't mention how much Konami paid him for letting them use the Can't Drive 55 song for the Ridge Racer 4 videogame TV commercial , yet Hagar crucified the Bros for selling songs for TV commercials . Hypocrisy . Sammy's a little 🐀 . Whatever started the feud was Sam's BIG mouth .

It is inconceivable that anybody would question Sammys work ethic
People can debate this all they want, in the end it was all about MONEY! Ed and Al want all the VH pie, and Dave and Sammy refused, while Anthony was cut out. So they brought in a new singer who they could pay like a session musician and would just be grateful they were in VH. Then it blew up in their face.
Bottom line: D.L.R. a "SHOWMAN and egomaniac; SAMMY HAGAR is a hard working musician who loves his family, his friends, and gives EVERYTHING he's got to give to his fans!!
Eddie and Alex really have no excuse for getting rid of half of the best thing to ever walk into Van Halen, Sammy and Michael.
No judgement, no judgement... and you better be wearing a cup if you disrespect my hip one more time!
Been a VH fan since 1979 but any true VH fan knows that the VH brothers, as people, were assholes. Many of us early on mistakenly thought that it was DLR was was the troublemaker in this band but it was actually the VH brothers. They did Mikey dirty.
Yeah. And without Mikey, those first two albums wouldn’t be anywhere as good vocally.
They fired Mike three times
They fired Mike three times

I like when Alex is explaining that Dave kept calling them daily asking about going on tour. And I remember Sammy being a guest on “Live From Daryl’s House” and Daryl told about the time Ed wanted him to be their new singer after Dave left. I wonder what it would’ve been like if he had joined, but Daryl considers himself a soul singer!
“ bottom line , his work ethic sucked “ - EVH , who released two studio albums between 1996 - 2020
Rip EVH..classic interview. 🎉
I wish there would of been a tour with roth in that era
Yeah. They blew that.
Eddie did a celebrity golf thing down in Wilmington, NC. He was a total douchebag to people. Take all of this with a grain of salt.

Those two may be named Van Halen but there would have NEVER been a Van Halen without DLR. Full Stop.
Pfft...Eddie is talking shite! Sammy has one of the best work ethics ever!
Eddie and Alex weren’t the most joyful people.
They seem exhausting to be around.
AVH reminds me of my wise guy uncle
Roth would have smashed Eddie if he tried to put his hands on him.
EVH's impression of DLR (at 2:50), where he sucks in this cheeks and then turns his head dramatically, has me absolutely rolling. The accuracy coupled with the contempt is just delicious.
Ever since I learned of EVH's contempt for DLR (and I think I side with EVH), I can't listen to songs where DLR sings without imagining EVH rolling his eyes and thinking, "This fucking guy."
Diamond Dave may have been loose cannon so enter Hager.. That appeared not to gel as well.. BUT when you DUMP Anthony the Bass Player for Eddie's Son Wolfgang it entirely puts things into a different perspective.. Would like to think most get the picture here..
Eddie in his worst drug phase saying Sammy's work ehtic sucked ;D And Alex, when lying, at least take ur glases off ;)
They were very difficult
You better be wearing a cup killed me the day I first saw this a hundred years ago and I just fell out hearing it again. Hahah it’s hilarious that guys used to actually say this line hahaha
As it turns out, David Lee Roth was right they should’ve just gone on tour. This is from the 1996 MTV awards. After the 1980s ended, we got a grand total of four studio albums from Van Halen. they could’ve been the first full-time nostalgia act in retrospect, and probably would’ve made a ton of money.
Eddy and Alex are mean people Dave took them to the top 🔝 and no respect for Dave sad 😔
Eddie: You better be wearing a cup!
Alex: Yea, you better be wearing a cup!
🤣
Alex and Eddie at their most dickheadish period of their career. Sammy Hagar does not have a work ethic problem. If you follow his music success, not to mention his business success outside of music, it’s very difficult to say that he has a bad work ethic.
They wanted to record another album while Sammy just had a kid
Yeah I hate seeing the brothers being bitchy like this. Roth was my favourite era but nobody can deny Hagar worked his nuts off when he was in the band.
Get a babysitter, he already had his wife...it was an extended absence, he was a hired gun, the singer, it wasn't his band, he forgot himself and his position in the pecking order.
Love Sammy but the non-stop bitchin after the fact was ALL Sammy, you didn't hear the Van Halen brothers going on and on bitchin everywhere after the breakup... Methinks he doth protest (bitch) too much.
Revealing.
Sammy was a lazy lyricist. He ruined a TON of cool tracks with cornball lyrics. Dave always brought his "A-game" to Van Halen.
@@gkniffen oh DLR was by far and away the best lyricist of the band. He also had a great work ethic (even Ed admitted that). The lyrics ‘In a Simple Rhyme’ and ‘Secrets’ are brilliantly written.
They way they did treat him...
Hate to say it , but Roth could've kicked Eddie's ass.
I say that with all due respect to Eddie.
Look how little Ed is compared to just a year earlier when they were touring balance in 95…Ed musta started hitting the booze and drugs hard after the 95’ tour ..he was bigger with short hair on that tour and looks so much different here …rip Ed
What never made sense about this is that by default if DLR is anywhere near this band, you know Sammy would have sprinted outta there even if he were performing at peak-ability. And that's what happened. So...if Sammy's exit is fait accompli, but they then tell the guy who's theoretically an upgrade that he's not in the band and there are no plans to tour...then what the h3ll was the long-term plan? One of those two HAS to be in the band.
You either commit to Roth or you show Sammy enough respect to lose Roth's phone number by this point. But you don't fire the guy who saved your band to replace him with the original guy for only a few weeks and leave yourself with nothing. When you're lucky enough to replace 'the guy' convincingly, you don't make that uphill climb only to push the new guy off, send some smoke signals to the old guy and then when he shows up, tell him "nothin' to see here." So, I just don't buy any of this "we never said you were back" narrative-contorting after the fact.
If you DO accept that this was made clear to Dave with everyone on the same page that this is nothing more than a quick romp to sell a Greatest Hits record and he was gonna be sh!tcanned either way, then what incentive would DLR have at that press conference to NOT make it about him (and it kinda is, let's face it)? Ed & Al are evaluating Dave's behavior as appalling because that's how you'd view it IF he were rejoining the band. But if it's a one-off that E&A don't care about anyway, then what would they care how Dave acts? I think that the brothers may have intentionally kept Dave at arm's length to keep him from going nuts on them but the idea that they weren't leaning in the direction of taking DLR on the road the following Summer or Fall is nonsense. You're telling me they said to themselves "Ok, Sammy's a hack all of a sudden, so let's do the thing that everyone wants to see happen with Dave for one appearance to build up some pub and then leave him in the dust while we attempt another re-org with someone else." That makes no sense. The only element that stands to benefit from this plan is the Greatest Hits record and the VMA appearance which get a quick boost from Dave. The band, each of it's members and essentially anything downstream of this is gonna have to fight it's way out of quicksand that they insisted on stepping in.
The only other rationale I could see here, that they certainly didn't admit at the time - publicly anyway - is that they knew if the band was gonna continue, it'd be propelled by the inertia of the previous 20 years no matter what. But knowing how much they respect artistry, the band's legacy, and music in general, I doubt that they waved the white flag out of nowhere and THEN decided to go Waco on their own band. It was risky as h3ll, and I don't blame them for gambling on Dave. It was the perfect time to do it. But when it got away from them, to act like "We never said X or Y or Z" is folly.
I look back at these giants…these absolute Icons, and just WISH against wishing that they’d been able to see the bigger picture (their MUSIC) and have been able to set their PETTY differences aside and just CREATE THE MAGIC that this group of individuals was so known and loved for…it’s such a shame….and now too late.
I don’t believe a single word of this.
Eddie & Alex Van Halen by design to not tell the complete truth. Keep in mind that Sammy Hagar quit, and refused to play on a Greatest Hits Record. Warner Bros. wanted to release a Greatest Hits Volume One with two new songs with David Lee Roth.
It was perfect timing in to have David Lee Roth Return to do these two new songs--Me Wise Magic & Can get this stuff no more, with Sammy out of the picture, Roth was told by his handlers he was back in Van Halen.
After the MTV Awards, it was disclosed that Eddie Van Halen had auditioned multiple lead singers, to replace Sammy Hagar, and Roth was nothing more than a "RED HERRING."
Once the Greatest Hits Record was released, Van Halen decided to work with Gary Cherone, who was managed by the same manager as Van Halen at the time. Sammy Hagar spoke about the death of their old manager, and once the new guy stepped in, everything changed.
David Lee Roth once realized the ruse, he went to the press, and spilled his story to the LA TIMES, stating that Eddied "tricked" me into this notion that I was back in Van Halen, only as a short-term solution to deal with Sammy Hagar.
In retrospect, in (1996), Van Halen should have stayed the course with David Lee Roth, for the song--"Me Wise Magic" was their best song in years since Sammy Hagar took over. It was brilliant, high harmonies, and a return to the mighty Van Halen. Instead, they took a left turn based on bad management, and went down the rabbit-hole of Gary Cherone, who was nothing more than a scapegoat. For he was a bad choice, however, he was excellent for the Van Halen catalog live.
By (1999), Warner Bros. said either get back with (Dave or Sam), or we are dropping you from the label.
In (2000), Van Halen returned to David Lee Roth in LA, and recorded a full-album. He was shelved, because the lawyers got involved, and Roth split again over demands against Eddie Van Halen.
2002, Roth goes on tour with Sammy Hagar. Makes a ton of money, but due to "Lead Singer Disease" Sammy calls out Roth and all hell broke loose, and the tour falls short concluding the tour,
2004, Van Halen has a reunion tour scheduled with Sammy Hagar, Eddie & Alex demand that if Michael Anthony is on the bill, he must take a discount on his salary, otherwise they will not do the tour. Michael Anthony is nothing more than a session player, who is paid much less than everyone on the tour. The tour ends with fist fights on planes, and separate transportation for remaining tour dates. Sammy & Eddie are in separate buses, and do speak to each other.
2007--Van Halen returns to David Lee Roth sans Michael Anthony, in favor of his snot-nose-son.
Note, recently, David Lee Roth calls out Wolfgang Van Halen for being a spoiled, entitled fat slob, who wouldn't stop complaining about his touring with David Lee Roth. First, it was his wardrobe, then it was about how Roth wasn't sharing the stage with this overweight 16- or 17-year-old on stage. Keep in mind, Roth goes to state that Wolfgang stiffed an important account of the band and her friends to a show in (2015), to teach Dave a lesson.
The amount of drama with Van Halen, David Lee Roth, Sammy Hagar and all the rest of the [maelstrom] of events surrounding the dysfunction of Van Halen is never ending.
Van Halen right now is Sammy & Michael, who have been playing both Sammy & Roth material for years.
Alex Van Halen lost leverage with Roth. And is on his own island. Alex is not a session drummer, and will not be attached to another band ever.
He will make his royalties, and will just walk away. Not a bad move given the amount of in-fighting with Van Halen.
Wolfgang literally did fucking nothing wrong. This is someone who actively refuses to live off of his father's legacy and would rather make his own music and do his own thing, even if it means playing in smaller venues.
1:55 Alex takes a huge rip on that dart and yet exhaled no smoke. Just absorbed it thru osmosis
