    Yes, most people don't realize popping locs causes thinning cause most times the full strand doesn't come out the other loc so they just break off wherever. Most I can say is if you have to then do it while your hair is wet or at least damp. Give it some slip.

    I absolutely love your locs! I had microlocs for almost 3 years, but started to notice thinning around my perimeter and in the crown of my head.. I combed my locs out and was able to retain about 16 inches of healthy hair and my hair has been recovering well in those thinning areas, but I still miss my locs and watching your videos bring me comfort in a weird way 😂😂😂❤❤❤

    Your locs are really gorgeous. I am happy to see what a 2 point rotation looks like. I wonder how thin the loc would look if you did a 4 point. If I ever finally loc my hair. I’m doing them actually how you did. I’m doing the kekej grid. That’s officially what’s it’s called now. Lol. And I’m doing the 2 point rotation also.

      Peace, fam. I've taken out 2 sets of traditional locs so I'd like to share what was shared that was also helpful. Please ensure that your hair is moist, wet as you work with it. Moisturizer, moisturizing shampoo, detangler, etc are nice because though a lot of product can weigh it down, the combo of oily and wet is a good emulsifier that helps maintain the integrity of the strands. Any kind of rosewater is great because it hydrates unlike strictly water, which can be drying. A rat tail comb, brush, comb and patience with yourself. It can be done, even though it can feel tiresome. clipping the tips can help to unravel the core. Please have good shows/films to watch, music or audiobook to listen to and do it in increments, knowing you're making progress all the while. You may want to have hats or wraps and start section by section so it still looks okay covered when it's not totally done. Here's to your success.

    I started my locks awhile ago but never took the time to ever really part hair and that just works for me. Depending on how I feel when I retighten I might do 2,3, or 4 point rotation, lol, and it change from lock to lock. I have a mixed 4 texture so it’s often a struggle to get my hair to act right, but because it’s mostly 4c the struggle is real if I just left it natural so the locked life is for me until I personally can’t maintain it any more. Then I’m cutting it all off. I think your hair is beautiful. Thanks for the tips.

    Hey Keke I love your hair and that growth is really really starting to show HUNNYYY!!! Come through length🙌🏾
    I have a question tho, so I have about 390-400 microlocs and i love them but I don’t like the shape of my hair and I don’t really know what to do about it. I’m 9 months in so I won’t even think about redoing them but I cut the back shorter so it’s not as long (bc the back of my hair was way longer than everywhere else) and it looks way better but there are a few days here and there that i still don’t really like the shape or how they fall😖 I was wondering if after they grow out more it’ll look better or if I’ll have the same problem the more they grow. Hope this wasn’t too long and I hope SOMEONE can help! Thanks❤️

    • @KekeJ
      @KekeJ  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much! 💕
      I hate to hear that! Since you’re not satisfied with the cut, I would recommend consulting with a loctician to see if they would be able to give you a cut that you’d like. As your hair grows, I’m not sure if you’d still like the shape or how they fall since you don’t like it now. I hope this helps! ❤️

    Good idea for the loc gel!! I’m going to do my own retie, my last set of locs I realized I could do it if I’m in a pinch…. So, I just moved so I’m going to attempt to do my whole head myself 👀👀👀 I plan to break it into 4 sections and do one section per day.
    Thanks for the tips!
    Now you said you do a two rotation, why do a two instead of a four?

    • @cali1993
      @cali1993 Рік тому

      I heard a 4 causes a thinner loc look.

    If looking at a clock, it appears like you're doing a 12 entry and a 3 entry with your 2 point rotation. If I'm going to do a 3 point, what are the entry points?

    Every time I tighten I get my other locs , tangled in and I have to break the hairs that got tangled any advice? I didn’t really take the time to make parts when I started my twists

    • @KekeJ
      @KekeJ  2 роки тому +2

      I would suggest using the retwist clips that I used to completely separate your sections to avoid tightening other locs

    I did see that broken piece but flyaways don’t necessarily mean breakage. You hair doesn’t grow at the same time so after it sheds a new hair starts to grow. I’m dealing with that right now and it’s annoying!

    I’m not sure if it’s a part of the maturing process but I’m 4 months micrlocked (started with coils, maintained with interlocking) and my locs are SUPER frizzy! I considered cutting off the frizz but I was advised not to because the frizz helps strengthen the loc but I have flyaways for days! 😩😭

    • @thecoldestintheuniverse

    • @t.1103

      It’s def apart of the process but you can try wrapping the frizz around the loc itself to lessen the amount

    • @ellieameli
      @ellieameli 2 роки тому

      @@t.1103 Is that something I have to do continuously like every day or does it stay in place for the most part?

    • @t.1103
      @t.1103 2 роки тому

      @@ellieameli I think it depends on your hair especially if you get it wet often. I spray my hair at least 3 times a week so the frizz doesn’t stay wrapped around the loc so I would have to do it quite often but if you don’t wet your hair often it should stay

    • @t.1103
      @t.1103 2 роки тому +1

      @@ellieameli after a while I appreciate the frizz tho cause it gives me more volume and I really want that volume so I don’t do it often but when I’m just playing in my hair I find that I do it unconsciously lol.
