    Great choice on wheels! Removing the core from the valve stem will allow WAY more air to get the beads seated. Once both beads are seated you put the core back in and air up the tire. Also, aligning the yellow dot with the valve stem will mean less weights to balance. I mount my tires at home with tire levers and they rarely need balancing.

    • @99Isopropyl
      @99Isopropyl 3 роки тому +1

      I've never heard this before. There is a yellow dot on the tire itself you mean? And you line that up with the valve stem?

    • @gregh7457
      @gregh7457 3 роки тому

      @@99Isopropyl The Weight Method
      Find the valve stem on the side of the tire. If it is lined up with the yellow dot, the valve stem is located at the heaviest part of the tire. If it is lined up with the red dot, then it is located at the lightest part of the tire. These dots guide the technician to make sure that the tire is properly balanced during installation.

    Looks really good. One thing to watch on the simulated bead lock wheels is dirt and water getting packed in the small corner behind the ring. It’ll rust the rims out quick.

    Austin I have run thunders on my duramax for well over a 100,000 miles!! I get at least 50,000 miles or more out of each set & im on my third set!! I push snow with the truck every winter & have never been stuck yet with these tires!! The very first set of tires I tried was the cooper mud STT & I didn’t even come close to getting 10,000 miles on them & they were bald & no I have never done burn outs with the truck!! I can buy two sets of thunders for less than I paid for the coopers!! The coopers were 1000.00$ & I can get thunders for 110.00 ea.. the only other tire that I have run on my truck was the pro comp MT ll & I got around 50,000 miles out of them also but at 250.00 a tire the thunders do just as good & half the cost!!! I definitely think you will love them!!

    Outstanding video my friend. There is those little things from time to time it seems that can show up on a build when working to bring those older car or truck back to being road worthy, when doing it right. But then that 's what makes doing this kind of work worthwhile. You never know what she is going to throw at you, until you finish.

But i did drive down to central america and had to mount one in a parking lot using a claw hammer to break it down and shampoo and a screwdriver to mount it back. You mounted it like a pro brother.

    I am kind of a tradionalist when it comes to trucks. Good working plain jane steel wheels that can take a beating. The extra rubber is just unsprung weight adding unnecessary wear and tear. Since I work my trucks I want the extra weight to go toward the payload. If you are going rock crawling for real and need the ground clearance that is one thing but just to 'look good' is a waste. Just extra money when you get a rock cut etc. I think the original tires or a couple of sizes taller is plenty good. I have always disagreed with the Detroit version of turning trucks into yuppy mobiles for the city kids that never actually work them. Thus the beds are now two stories off the ground and unreachable from the sides. Makes putting an engine in the back or reaching in for tools (much less into a toolbox!) much more difficult. Same with bumpers that no longer actually function on them. About as thick as aluminum foil! That being said I am impressed with your fabrication skills and designs on which you do excellent work. Good videos as well.
