If it is like older toyotas, there should be an fp terminal in the diagnostics box on the intake. So if the fuel pump doesn't prime key on engine off like most cars do, you could have jumped that terminal in the diagnostics box and ran the pump with the intake off to look for your injector leak. You could have also done this prior to installing the intake to double check your new parts for leaks.
Wow. The old motor in my 240sx did exactly that and I never figured out why. Ive since swapped it out but that definitely has to be the exact same issue... the injector was sticking and flooding the motor.
My 90 Toyota 4Runner 3.0 is doing the same thing. I literally have a thick file folder of all my receipts of parts I’ve replaced on it and was thinking it was the starter relay but now I’m thinking it’s the injectors. I’m in Arizona and just put in the JEGS aluminum radiator and it fits awesome! So to anyone else out there that live in a hot state like AZ I’d suggest putting in the same. Yes they are pricey but they help keep the 3. slow cooler.
Get a Tacoma next ! ... would have liked to know more details about the fuel injector change. Did you pull any fuses, how did you release fuel pressure, pop them back in, torque or just snug up fuel rails .....any tricks etc?.. would have been a good tutorial right here on that engine. Lots of interest in these Toyotas keep up the good work 👍
Amazing. The knowledge this guy has is amazing. It’s all Chinese to me. But love watching and hopefully learning something. Keep it up. Amazing trucks. Really
This is cool time for you to drop a video. Believe it or not, I was dusting my Trophies from my Toyota days. Glad to see you have that issue addressed.
My cousin who used to work for Toyota as a technician said that Toyota uses Denso parts. It’s just when you get them from Toyota themselves so I have the Toyota branding on them versus if you get it online. How did you clean your engine bay did you have to cover anything up because I want to clean mine out but don’t know if I can just spray it without covering anything
Yes most parts are denso, they changed manufacturers in 1998 I believe for the injectors. I don’t cover anything, hose it all down and run it up to temp after, never any issues
I have the same issue with my 22re. As long as the fuel pressure regulator tests good then you likely culprit would be injectors. For me oem injectors run $165 each, ouch screams the bill fold. For Toyota’s nothing is more reliable than stock. At the 300k mark is when I had to start replacing electrical components ie starter, alternator, a relay, and now injectors . Everything else still works as it should. Nippon Denso is not aftermarket for Toyota’s, you wonder why fuel pumps last for so long, yes Nippon Denso. The other brand lasts just as long, like I said 300k miles and a lot of “original” Japanese parts are still performing normally
Excelente trabajo amigo me animas para seguir arreglando mis Toyotas Ahorita tengo un problema con una de ellas está gastando gasolina más de lo normal el fin de semana se va pal taller para solucionar ese problema
Don't quote me on this cause I haven't laid hands on your MW injectors to really look at em. But the injectors they sent me actually are for 1jz motors if I recall correctly. Those were 3.0 motors but had a higher flow rate as they were used in is300s and other performance cars. The flow rate is similar to the 5vz injectors. And I'm sure MW flow checks them to spec for the 5vz. With that said I haven't had any issues since I put my MW injectors in my 5vz.
Man that truck is badass. I have the opportunity to buy a 88 Toyota single cab lifted on 35's with a 3.4 swap in it but was never finished being put together. The guy says everything is the but the bellhousing. Think $2500 and a 2 hour trip is worth it?
Is this the same motor in the four runner? If so, you should do the intake system like you done on it. And tint those windows. Did you ever do an exhaust on the green truck? If not, do that too! It's an awesome build though, great work!
@@austinniemela I sold mine for 15k. If you go watch my video, you can see what it was. All new drivetrain, etc. Yours is probably worth right around 10k.
You gonna sell that beauty when you're done tinkering with it like your Bro does all the time...It was a sad day when he recently sold his black Evo.....
Don't wanna sound like your dad... but you really need to start using the appropriate torque wrenches on much of what you are working over. You can't imagine just how much of a problem not torquing properly can cause you.
I love how you work with precision and your workbench is like that of a physican! Great ethics!
Thanks!!

I want to be his assistant, so i can have part of his skill... Thumbs up to you bro.🌟👍
Whoever buys this will have a great truck for a long time!
Dang, I've got the same exact issue on my 2000 and I was wondering why it starts like that. Thanks for the video!
Glad I can help!

I’m still deciding on if I should do black raptor liner or tinted raptor liner what tint code did you use for that green and where did you get it?
the truck looks amazing man such a clean build, happy to see it all come together. Excited to see what you got for us next, keep up the work my man!

The dent on the passenger side of the bed is really bothering me, can you fix it for me. 😆
Now i can’t unsee the dent
If that dent is bothering you, you should see my rig. Dents and pinstripes all over that would make your head explode.
😂😂 I’m with you haha shoulda fixed it the first time
How is that POR 15 holding up? I have the same exact truck, frame looks about the same as yours did. Would you reccomend the POR 15? Thanks man
So far it’s doing good!

Hey @austinniemela I'm curious if the green trucks bumper lines up on the 3rd Gen 4runner?
I have not tested that! I don’t think it would fit
This was a big learning piece for me. Huge thank you Austin.
Great! Thanks for watching!!!
These videos are super dope!! Definitely gives me ideas to upgrade on my yota! Keep it up!!
Great progress on the truck
I have said this before but, I love the bumpers!
Looks like the green truck is your favorite to drive. You should get a 2nd gen to build next.
Nooo the TDI truck is much more enjoyable to drive!!!
Good info. Have you done a video on replacing the third member in ( mine is a 93 3 liter 5 speed manual and of course 4x4. Dandahermit.
What’s the button next to the clutch start cancel
Amazing. The knowledge this guy has is amazing. It’s all Chinese to me. But love watching and hopefully learning something. Keep it up. Amazing trucks. Really
Thanks man I appreciate it! Hope I can help
I don’t really care for Yota’s but I dig what you are doing resurrecting old turds.
Hope you took the opportunity to clean the intake manifold/plenum.
Hey do you wax that raptor liner? Seems unlikely, but wax helps shed dirt.
I have not, I have seen people wax it though with good results!
What coil packs do you recommend for the 3.4
Oem only!
I love your Toyota’s! You do great work too!
Thank you! 👍

Nicely done sir 👍
Green pickup is looking sweet...
With your attention to detail I am surprised you left the dents in it before you raptor lined it.
Job well done engine sounds sweet👍
Thanks 👍
I love that truck!!
Good stuff bro i gotta change my injectors too on my 92 3.0 4Runner
What corner lights did you use?

300k is a lot of miles!! OEM parts definitely the way to go!!
Awesome fix!
Glad to see it was the injectors.
Video idea for next fall .....how to apply wool wax to protect the underside from winter salt and rust!
my little truck needs one of your jobs 😬
Love your channel buddy

That’s not a bad deal if it’s a clean truck
Cant wait for the new build.
Austin, how much did you spend on the injectors from MotorWest?
Love the content. Keep doing what you do
Thanks!

@@austinniemela put a K&N air filter on it too. I wonder if they have throttle body spacers for those as well.
Nice work

Austin, will an 05 Tacoma hold a supercharger? Or does extra have to be done to it?
Yes they hold up to some boost!
love all the videos !
Thanks!!

Won’t this score the cylinder if this continues?
Yea it could if it’s bad enough to wash the Cyl walls!

Thanks! I have a link in the description!
im abog follower now! so cool builds
Super stuff!
My truck has been Raptor lined for 2 years, its white and easier to clean then paint. Just like ya said just pressurewash it and forget it.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Are you keeping the green truck?
I’ll be selling this one
Reminds me of my old truck
