    I’m still building my LS swapped 84 4Runner. I’ve upgraded the front to Longs 30 splines. Hopefully they hold up

    Broke a birf in the mud, Toyota strength at its finest. The v8 sounds good.

    The shape and setup of the gray Toyota shows just how good those trucks were. That shape will take you more places including malls than any other shape that's existed in offroading. It's not the best at anything, near the top at a few things, but it's always good and always carries the most shit on the jalopy back home. That jalopy is an old Toy pickup so almost all of it always makes it back home.

    The charm about older vehicles is that part of fixing them involves slamming parts against or with objects.

    Build, break, repeat! Love the content keeps inspiring me to wrench on my low budget 2nd gen 4Runner off road/camping rig. I’ve been working on it for the past 3 months little but little each day finally got the last few parts I need to get it on the road! Need to get it aligned and then off to its first trail run! Super excited!

    Oil cooler on return line for steering. I have been thinking about theowing a xj or something radiator flat under the pasanger side floor in front of the fuel tank.

    Awesome video! New to the channel. I have a 97 Tacoma i'm working on the 1UZ swap. At 4:33 there is a red Tacoma do you happen to know what set up he is running? Primarily interested in Headlight, bumper and fender.

    • @mountainjeepmike4408
      @mountainjeepmike4408 3 роки тому +1

      That’s my 01. Fenders and box sides are ADV fiberglass, headlights are a bit of a mad man creation. 95.5-97 whale mouth grille, with headlight buckets from a 1981 Toyota pickup. The headlights are Trucklite heated LED’s. Not the prettiest, but it works. The bumper is, again, my own creation. I had an ARB before, but wanted something wide enough to protect my fenders. It’s got an IG page, @project_pos_taco. I’ve got the build detailed there. Cheers!

    needs a power steering cooler like drift car, its an aluminum block so prolly more susceptible to rapid changes when the rad doesnt have a ton of flow. May need to add some hood vents to let the hot air rise out of the bay easier. Detail walkaround of the red double cab looks freakin awesome

    At one Point I put a Straight 6 258 1973 motor in My Yota.. Ran SMOOTH, better torque than 4 cylinder... Was fun, till winter cracked the side of Block cuz there was a little water left in there that didnt drain.. Danggit! But i built a stroker 4.0 threw the 258 crank in a 96 Jeep block... Havent installed motor though, thinkin bout v8... What fun this all is! Great vid Again! Another A+

    Just a piece of friendly advice from another 1uz swap guy. Carry an extra ECM with you at all times. They are 20+ years old and prone to failure from bad capacitors. When that happens you are dead in the water.

    You probably need heat extractors, either on the hood or the fenders. The power steering heat could be from the ambient temps inside the engine bay or maybe the 1uz pump is making too much pressure for the 89 box, might need a different pulley on it. Just my thoughts, glad to see the truck out and wheeling🤘

      First time in years since install I've had issues with my locker. And I'm blaming the fire. My front axle was definitely on fire and bits of my actuator was melted haha.
