Please help I have twin grandsons that are breastfed and only weighed a little over 5lbs at birth, My son and his wife had been taking them to the same Dr. for all of their checkups and didnt see a problem with their growth or weight gain until all of a sudden when they were almost a year old and then when they slowed down gaining weight she decided that they were to small so they were taken to the hospital were they put a feeding tube in the smaller of the two because he wouldn't take a bottle and they wanted to give him a special formula. The parents were told that if the baby would drink the formula any other way that he wouldnt have to have the feeding tube. He pulled the feeding tube out 4 or 5 times in the 5 days he was in the hospital and sure enough as soon as they got home from the hospital he pulled it out again so his mother worked and worked with him and figured out how to get him to drink the formula without the feeding tube but the hospital called CPS on her because she didnt bring him back to get the feeding tube put back in. He had gained 2lbs 4oz in 2 and a half weeks on the formula so that proves he was drinking the formula but cps swooped in and took the baby without even checking to see if he had gained weight! He only weighed 5lbs 2.4oz when he was born and by this time he was 1 years old and he weighed 14lbs 8.4oz but they said he wasnt even on the growth chart so they took him. He had just seen the Pediatrician that morning when they took him and he was a little concerned that he was small but he was gaining weight so he wasnt that concerned. How much weight do they expect a baby to gain from birth to 1 year of age? This mother has already breastfed 6 other children ranging in age from 4-19yrs and they were all small when they were little and they all weighed more when they were born, This is crazy! Theywant mothers to breastfeed but they punish them when they do! Do you have any information on this? because I have spent countless hours on the internet just trying to find information on breastfed twins with low birth weight but I cant find any!

My 3 year old son hasn’t been growing, I’ve been so stressed. Sometime around 2-2.5 dr said he hadn’t grew at all, and now his bone age test is behind. He’s always hit milestones well and sometimes even early, he’s talking so good as well. I am worried now because of the head for some reason is 4 %! It is not mis shaped at all. It is perfectly normal head. And compared to her body she looks fine and normal. But they are sending her to do swallow study, that is normal, then they are wanting her to go to lactate specialist so they went there. They are trying different nipples. Nothing seems to make her eat more. Once in a while she will eat 3 or 4 ounces but not often. We tried not feeding her more often and so it less often but still only 1 to 2 ounces at a time. Some days she has 17 ounces total and other days 22 they want her to get to 24 ounces and we are trying. I have her during the day so I have her 8-10 hours. I am trying to get her to drink more. Hi, I'm 21 weeks and 3 days and the ultrasound showed abdominal circumference of 190 mm which fits 23 weeks and 6 days. The doctor said not to worry but I am freaking out a little. Could it mean a problem? Does it ever 'correct' itself? Both me my husband are super skinny people btw, with no obesity in the family.. I'm so confused as to why this would be. (other measurements - the weight is 516 grams, head cir is 189 mm - fit for 21.1 weeks) Also, my belly is quite small for 21 weeks but I also worry if this means my belly would grow enormous?
This video is about growth percentiles as they age for the baby after the baby is born. This is not about a gestating baby nor their ultrasound measurements.
Thank you for this video. My baby boy is 6 months now and is weighing 15 lbs. he’s constantly growing and gaining and happy. My daughter (first born) was exactly the same. The doctor is concerned about his weight gain, but honestly I’m not. My plan is just to maybe breastfeed him a little more often. But, i know for a fact it’s just not in his dna to be chubby. Like you said I think we have to stop putting babies in a box and just let them be as long as they are continuing to grow and hitting their milestones.
This is sweet but you need to address the very real concerns when percentiles drop. Mine dropped when baby was sick and when I wasn’t producing enough milk. Also obese babies are not cute or normal. We have an explosion of obesity in children
Obesity doesn’t occur in exclusively breastfed babies. Obesity increases with formula feeding. Percentiles do not mean anything. Weight gain and development do. If you pay attention to science, you’d see where obesity comes from. It’s not from breastfeeding or Breastmilk fed babies. And you can take your condescending tone (“this is sweet”) out of here. I am a professional clinician. See ya.
@@DoneNaturally this is sweet that you were giving moms confidence but the research indicates percentiles do matter and they can predict obesity. Breastmilk babies do better but actually the research shows that bottle feeding is more predictive of obesity regardless of whether it’s breastmilk or formula. So get yourself updated on some research Ms.Clinician so you can start helping obese kids
This is such peace of mind. I only wish all doctors understood this.
Right, her words are comforting. But I still hope my baby is tall and strong as an adult
Wow this is the best thing I’ve watched all day. All month. All year maybe. Amen. You need to preach this to the entire United States. Thank you.

But didn’t give me an answer to why
Is this normal , will she be a big baby ? X
Hi I’m currently 31 +4 weeks pregnant I am freaking out about my babies femur length
It’s 58.5 mm 26%
As this comment is 3 months may I ask how is your baby I’m crying all night thinking there’s something wrong
@@alexajones2331 she was absolutely fine , she’s now 6 weeks tomorrow . They play catch up with the grow . Honestly I wish I didn’t worry so much . Your be fine x
@@ellieburton8892 thank you so much for your comment , that’s brilliant news to hear!! the actual head of fetal abnormalities was talking to me about the Covid vaccine and she never said anything to me about the femur bone at all. I just got a hold of my chart and read into things myself. Thank you again and best of luck x
@@alexajones2331 hospital measurements are not very accurate, just don’t google stuff which I did your panic yourself into something rotten . All will be fine x
I needed to see this tonight. Thank you
I'm so glad!
This is great :) i love this
I wish i had a doctor like this
We hire and fire Drs. They work for us. No reason you can’t shop around.
Can you do a video explaining percentile during pregnancy
That's outside my knowledge "wheelhouse."
23 weeks 6 days baby in 94th percentile
My weight 153.7
Hi, I'm 21 weeks and 3 days and the ultrasound showed abdominal circumference of 190 mm which fits 23 weeks and 6 days.
The doctor said not to worry but I am freaking out a little.
Could it mean a problem?
Does it ever 'correct' itself?
Both me my husband are super skinny people btw, with no obesity in the family.. I'm so confused as to why this would be.
(other measurements - the weight is 516 grams, head cir is 189 mm - fit for 21.1 weeks)
Also, my belly is quite small for 21 weeks but I also worry if this means my belly would grow enormous?
TheKimmyLou61 YESSS!!! ❤️
My 24weeks ultrousnd shows biometry parameters some about 30% some about 50%.is this normal?. How come this is possible?.
This is not what my video is about. It is about percentiles once baby is born and growing.
Chubbarumba 😂😂.
Mines a chubbarumba too!!
Great word right?! 😅
I’m 18 weeks and baby is in the 97th percentile 😭
I’m 34 weeks at the moment, I was measuring 12th percentile at 32 weeks. I am freaking out ! 🥺
I’m 31 weeks now & im measuring the same thing, did you have a healthy baby?
