I have a 2 week old newborn and he slept for like 4hrs straight night before last. I planned on getting up to pump but slept through my alarm. ( i am extremely exhausted and needed the rest) i woke up really engorged and pumped but then i noticed throughout the day i was pumping less than what i was in the days before. I spent all day yesterday pumping and nursing. I am currently sitting here after pulling a literal all-nighter of nursing baby directly to the breast. I am stressed out and exhausted. I feel like he's not getting enough. Please help
Thanks for this video! I was looking everywhere and I didn't find this answer my baby is already 4 months and sleeping 8 hours already after 11 pm but I wasn't sure what to do with my breastfeeding I am scared that my milk supply will dissappear
My 4 month old sleeps through the night for about 12 hours. She goes to bed between 6-7. I’m a stay at home mom. I usually pump around 10-11pm before bed and sleep through the night. Is that okay?
So its okay to skip a feeding or 2 a night even if my baby is only 3 months? Will that decrease my supply? She seems to be sleeping for 4-6 hours a night without needing to feed now...
If she is doing that on her own and growing well, then yes she can. If you eventually return to work away from her, then you need to wake up and pump once during that time frame and store it. If you stay home with baby 100%, then you can sleep too and not pump.
I’m a stay at home mom and I exclusively pump and bottle feed my 3 weeks old could I go full night without pumping or how many time should I pump also after pumping I’m always up washing pump parts so I’m not getting much sleep I wanted to try the putting pump parts in the fridge but I read the cdc changed that rule so I never done it what could I do to make the nights easier
I would totally put them in the fridge with a healthy baby. No you need to wake up and pump at least every 3hrs especially this freshly postpartum. You need that stimulation. ua-cam.com/video/_LnUUIObZzA/v-deo.html
And it’s fine to pump with cold parts do I need to rinse them off then put them in the fridge? How many time can I use them and place them back in the fridge before needing to wash thank you again
@@kel2326 Yes can pump with cold parts. Most moms give a rinse then put them in the gallon sized ziploc in the fridge between sessions. Then wash once every 24h. You don’t have to rinse but many do.
My baby is one month old. Is it important that I have her on a feeding schedule at night as well every three hours? Or can I just nurse whatever she wakes up every 3 1/2 or four hours throughout the night? And I don’t have to pump than two, do I? Does it normally nurse 15 minutes each press and then I pump afterwards. But do I need to pump afterwards during the night as well to keep my milk supply at bay?
Done Naturally sorry. I was using voice recognition and super tired nursing in the middle of the night when I was watching your video. I watch nursing tips and tricks when nursing at night, to help you stay awake. My question is, since I nursed during the day, every three hours, do I also have to nursed at night every three hours, or can I just nurse when she wakes up, which is on her own at about every 3 1/2 or four hours? And I do pump after nursing, during the day, but I don’t also have to pump after nursing, during the night as well do I, To keep my supply up?
@@ellikarlsson5605 your supply stays adequate as long as you are letting baby nurse when they need, and they are having adequate diapers and growing. You'd only need to pump if she sleeps 5+ hours. A video on that 👇

I work two days a week, 2 12 hr shifts so typically work Saturday Sunday Monday then off till the following Monday.... so i have a week off ish between three day stretches does this count as being away from the baby?? Not sure where i fall in this category I mean she’s not sleeping that long anywyas but I know it will be soon
Yes. That’s the whole point is for women who are separated from baby. It’s hard to maintain a supply when you are separated from baby during the day and the night. So waking to pump helps combat the hormone hit we get from that separation.

Glad it’s helped. Just make sure you wake up to pump!
What about when the baby pass the 6 months and we are already with the period? Thank you!

What if you're relactating and the baby is used to bottles which is causing them not to latch at night
Anytime someone is attempting re-lactation, the more breast stimulation the better. So for many this means pumping in the middle of the night.

does this still apply (waking up to pump) if you are pumping at work while away from baby?
