Gosh! I have been looking for this song for 2 decades and I have finally found it. I missed it so much. When I first heard in back in 1997 or something like that, I thought it was quite strange music, especially the guin guin verse.
one of the most underrated tunes of its day. It can still rock the crowd over 20 years since its release A truly visionary piece of work. This piece will be in my heart of hearts til it ceases.
@@kathrynwhitby9799 yes it did. I used to hear this alot on the radio when I was growing up which is why it's so nostalgic to me. It wasn't overplayed though so I think it got the right amount of airplay tbh. If something is overplayed it gets annoying, no matter how good the tune might be.
This was massive and got to no 8 in the UK charts, staying in the charts for 13 weeks. Difficult to think of that achievement as underrated, it was played everywhere.
first girl .. first time in love .... first failure ... first time broken .... first time to get back on my feet .... and all comes back with Remember me :) outstanding
Damn!!!!!!! How I love this song! I listened to it once in my life and the chorus sounded incredible to meeeeeeeeeeeeeee! And I've been repeating it since then! And I've just found it. Thank you UA-cam.
@@simonjones7727 Aye, but 80% of making sample-based music is (or, was) digging for records, finding the samples, "hearing" what will go together well and how, and doing it with style. The OP is right in a way - it wouldn't be made today in the DAW era because music was better when equipment and methods were simpler and options were limited. A snippet was also used in Rose Rouge by St Germain - another simple, classic sample-based song of the era that was basically this and the drums from Take Five.
@@MicrophonesInTheTrees Fair enough. As far as I know Shaw was amused and honoured by the use of her sample. She died this year and was one of the greats. If you don't already know it check out her "Who Is This B*tch, Anyway?" album also from 1974.
ACTUALLY the 80s were the best time to be alive, but the 90s were still fucking cool, no question about it, However, i would stipulate... EARLY 90s because once we started getting closer to 2000 it wasn't the same anymore
Takes me back 👍 Who says repetitive music doesn't work? P.S. the lady singing this song, Marlena Shaw, passed away 2 days ago at the age of 81. R.I.P.! 😟
A goat called Durk made me listen to this. It is a nice goat. He comes from a land of far. He likes apples and climb trees. He really knows how to have a good time.
This song would only play on one station in Salt Lake city and that was the best station in town!! What a great tune and flood gate of memories, opened!
I heard this song as a kid...been searching for it..could only remember "ding ding ding ding" 😂😂 and i thought it was "do u remember me" i finally found it today thru an advert...im so so happy..yeaaah!! Thanks Shazam!!
This song always reminds me of Pete from the Cotton Club in Sauze d'Oulx. Always played it and when he wanted people to leave he played classical music.
Who else is still listening to this song in 2035? I’m lucky, I survived the nukes and had a steady supply of clean water and food. Three out of four people in my circle didn’t survive
Blue Boy (also styled The Blue Boy) is a pseudonym for the British DJ, Alexis 'Lex' Blackmore. He is best known for "Remember Me", an international dance hit in 1997 which peaked at #8 in the UK.[1] Blackmore first worked as a DJ in Glasgow and London, touring with the British electronica group The Shamen in 1991
This makes me nostalgic for the 1990s all over again. The acid jazz, trip-hop sound, can’t be beat!

I saw a pumas’s sneakers commercial and it was there,,, just fantastic

It's not underrated though
never got the airplay it deserved.

😄It was the same for me, shame Derry girls ended.
That is exactly why I'm here now! Series 3 on pause whilst I relive the track!
Fir me it was on dream team series 😂

Nothing says total frickin 90s vibe than this tune. Classic.
The 90's were pretty decent.

the way we link music and memories is actually quite amazing
90’s best era of music.
Absolutely love this track. What a, classic

Easily and by far the best version! Pure class. 90's WAS the dance decade. Was, Is & always will be!! ;))
The Tame Impala cover gives the original a good run for it’s money though

“Remember me? I’m the one who masturbates”

The most engaging song with only 2 lines of lyrics, ever! Fantastic video too.
Total zeitlos... Das hört man 2156 immer noch 😎
I remember this song was played a lot in Sweden in the radio station NRJ. Back in-97. Then I was only 18 and digged this a lot!
Great tune & great use of Marlena Shaw's "Woman Of The Ghetto" sample
This song is simply poetry in motion with such deep, elaborate themes and topics.
Great song. I love the 90s, so many good memories.
There's greatness in simplicity! A simple great song!!

i literally woke up to this on the radio this morning, lets just say that i actually enjoyed waking up
Well, to quote Megadeth, you might wake up dead one day.
That was a good day!
This is when samples were actually done well. Best song of the 90s for me
here is the original = ua-cam.com/video/WaQTwVPvCAU/v-deo.html - where blue boy got the sample from

So glad I remembered...the chorus. This song kills without killing.
Love the way they shot this video. You don't always need a big budgets, just creativity.
Check out Utah Saints, ''Something Good'. Bangin' track and a VERY smart video.

Woke up and this song came to my mind. Love 90s
Marlena Shaw should be proud of
They don’t make such amazing music Today 2022 You got to have talent!
They didn't in 1996 either. It is 80% Marlena Shaw's "Woman of the Ghetto" from "Live at Montreux" (1974)
