Parasect was used by Erika in her lets go-rematch. So it technically has been used by at least one major trainer. But to be fair that was only a rematch. Paras and Parasect made themselves quite remembered by being oddly aggressive in the legends arceus games) so Seel seems like a fair choice.
I agree, it has literally millions of different possible spot patterns, which is just entirely too many. But for me personally, I always think of the mystery dungeon series when I think of Spinda
I’m going to have to disagree with you Emperor. Wait till you hear about GOGOAT and SKIDOO. They can only be caught in X and Y, and nowhere else! I don’t know about outside of the games, but in game they have had the worst treatment possible.
To be fair to the goats, you could ride them in certain areas, and Gogoat was a gym leader ace. Still a shame they haven't had much love past that though, I like them.
@@CoffeeFlavoredMilk yeah, what they got wasn’t bad, but was pretty awful compared to others. If I was a Pokémon and had to chose between being an ace and being a ride, or actually being featured in more than one game, I would chose more than one game.
Maractus being a Grass/Ground type would have helped it so much. A Grass/Fire Regional form for Sunflora would redeem it. Maybe a Fighting/Psychic one with Iron Fist for Spinda? It needs Something, as does Seel, which was upstaged by Spheal before Popplio was ever a thing. Cherrims, Like Bellossom, could easily have been made a Grass/Fairy type in Gen 6. Missed opportunity.
giving a weak pokemon a better type wouldnt redeem it ^^" besides, when gamefreak decides to finally use the grass/fire type, lets perhaps NOT waste it on sunflora...
Yeah, surprisingly, Sigilyph is one of THE best Pokémon for a playthrough in Unova. It’s Psychic/Flying type combined with great moves and coverage, makes it one of the BEST Pokémon for a playthrough. Not a Best Team for Unova by MysticUmbreon goes by without it.
I can't even take Mystics best Teams seriously. He keeps saying Greninja is the best to use in Kalos, which is factually wrong since its already proven from a playthrough perspective its actually the worst + he is overrating the speed stat, without taking into consideration the other stats.
Except sigilyph has massive problems : - it doesn’t learn it’s end game stabs until quite late (lvl 41 for air slash and 44 for psychic) meaning until then you’re gonna need to carry air cutter and psybeam which once around the mid late game start to get rather weak - it’s only good match up in the region is marshal and that’s it (and even then all of his mons carry rock moves so gotta be cautious) meaning that sigilyph rarely has the type advantage for important battles I’m not saying sigilyph is bad (it’s probably the psychic in the region for in game due to phenomenal early game and just good stats and coverage) but saying it’s up there with excadrill, darmanitan or Scrafty for one of the best mons in unova in game is way over exaggerated
@@galvsparks6295 yeah, but given the other options, it’s one of the “best” without tedious effort to either evolve late, or mediocre stats/damage. And it’s mainly flying more so than psychic why it’s on the teams.
@@RedDragonForce2 i guess that’s true and as a flyier it’s only real competition is archeops (if it’s better than it is rather debatable however using sigilyph does mean you can still use Carracosta though)
I actually really like Carbink 😅 It’s this cute floating diamond-rabbit thing with the cutest cry ever (and okay so it has maybe two locations but it’s not THAT hard to find. You get access to it before leaving for the second Trial.) It’s so sturdy and fantastic as a tank and support and its Clear Body ability ensures its stats cannot be altered by opposing pokemon. And eventually it can learn attacks by level/TM that suits its stats. My first playthrough I overlooked it. My second playthrough I had a better idea of what I was doing and really appreciated it
It's sad bc I actually love a lot of these Pokémon. I use Carbink in my Crown Tundra team, Parasect in my Legends Arceus team and my Sunkern is one of my best Pokéathletes in Soul Silver
Also wanted to add to the cherrim fact, their was a big bug on legends arceus with Cherrim having a 1% catch rate which was fixed in the daybreak update! :)
I think poison as a type is often overlooked. It's usually a secondary typing and it got shafted in gen 1 due to psychic being a menace. Because of that, it pretty consistently ranks toward the bottom of popularity rankings. Think about how many great poison types there are though: Crobat, Tentacruel, Gengar, Nidoking/Queen, Alolan Muk, Skuntank, Drapion, Toxicroak, Dragalge, Toxapex, Salazzle, Venusaur, Amoonguss, Toxtricity. Great type. Zubat and Tentacool especially get this bad rap as being fodder pokemon that you get spammed with in caves and surfing, but fully-evolved they're roughly on-par with the starters (base 535 and 515 respectively), they evolve early (23 minimum, 30), they're fast, bulky, and their typing is great defensively (Crobat has 4 weaknesses, an immunity, and 5 resistances, Tentacruel has three weaknesses and 8 resistances).
I just want to mention this, but while it doesn’t really help Arctovish at all, in MandJTV’s video “Pokémon Shield but I Randomized Everything”, a group of Arctovish can be seen flying in the overworld during the later portion when he says “Woah, look at the Arctovish!” Therefore, it won’t be so forgettable for that one funny moment.
I love gen 2 dearly, but the devs really shot themselves in the foot when it came to the dex expansion. So many people think multiple gen 2 pokemon first appeared in gen 3, because you couldn't catch or even encounter them at all until after the elite 4 in GSC. Slugma and Magcargo are gen 2! Aipom? Sneasel? Murkrow? Misdreveaus? Gen 2! The devs apparently forgot about them until the GBA games, though.
The most overlooked Pokémon to me: Gen 1: Spearow and Fearow: If someone were to ask you to name a Flying type in Gen 1, people would definitely choose Pidgeot than Fearow Gen 2: Shuckle: Needs an Evo Gen 3: Spinda: Self explanatory Gen 4: Cherrim: Self explanatory Gen 5: Druddigon: Oh man! Druddigon, I feel is more forgettable than Maractus! Gen 6: Furfrou: Literally, I forgot this Pokémon, more than Carbink Gen 7: Komala: Already needs an Evo! Gen 8: Inteleon and Greedent: This may be self bias, but I love these 2 Pokémon! Greedent is so cute, and I personally consider Inteleon to be the best Gen 8 Starter! Gen 9: The Games themselves: This may be a weird pick, but people consider Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to be the worst Pokemon Game thanks to the Glitches, but the stories it tells make you need to give it another try!
I ADORE Drampa. I like that they are so unique. I named mine after my own Papa (Grandfather), Howard, and taught him to use water and fire moves…water in honor of my Papa’s skills in Bass fishing (in fact, he was litterally in a club and an award winning pro…he had plaques and Trophies all over his room) and fire in honor of his skill with grills and smokers ( he made the BEST homemade beef jerky and chicken wings 🥰). Sadly in recent years his mind has gone south FAST and his body has grown weaker. when he started becoming aggressive due to the dementia and he struck my aunt, his doctor advised admitting him to a home for his own safety and the safety of those around him…sadly I’ll never get to go fishing with him or enjoy his Beef Jerky ever again, but i do visit him as much as i can…even if he doesn’t recognize me anymore 😓. Im please to report that he honesty seems quite content tho! he’s made a couple friends and has taken up Coloring, he also LOVES sitting in his wheelchair on the homes patio and help his friend Larry garden in his raised beds.
I love sunflora as one of my favorites and I have never been able to obtain it in a game, only ever seen it in one episode of the anime and don’t have a card for it even though I love it. I hope sunflora is in Gen 9 because even if it’s weak it is still a cool Pokémon
The one pokemon from Gen 4 for me has got to be Mothim. Mothim is only used by one trainer in the game. The only way to get it without trading is to make a male burmy appear in a honey tree.
Omg thank you so much for this video seel and dewgong have been my favorites since Pokémon came out and it makes me so mad they stopped including them in the game 😢
Fun fact, "Paras" in finnish means "the best". "May the best one win" translates to "paras voittakoon", "voittakoon" being "may -- one win" and that is bit of a recurring joke in my head. May Paras win!
I think Pokémon who get regional forms should also get buffed theme selves (if they’re bad) because making a regional form still leaves the original Pokémon on its own to be bad (if it was originally)
As you mentioned Carbink I was like: "No, this isn't forgattable at all. It's relationship with Sableye and viability - wait a second. Carbink is a KALOS Pok´mon? Not Alola?" *lol* I would like to nominate all Pokémon commonly misplaced out of their debut generation into a later one for this list. There have to be more people getting regularly confused about which generation Skarmory, Mantine, Hawlucha, Carbink or other Pokémon actually debuted? Please tell me I'm not the only one suffering! And I LOVE Bruxish so much. I really hope they will include it in Scarlet and Violet. I want to use my christmassy colored fishy again.
so a funny thing about arctovish is before i knew about the whole fossil mix up thing going on in the world i didn't see the fact its head was upside down for a while so i just thought the pattern at the front looked like a cute little cat mouth or something but then i realised....oh wait its head's upside down eww put it out of its misery at least the others can somewhat function

@@wispyfox6854 It's head is actually on backwards, if you think about it. Even Dracovish, whose head is attached to what would be its tail, has a forwards-facing head.
I think venonat/venomoth could have been the man to pick, they haven’t been in a regional dex since johto I think. Seel is not too bad but it seems to get a bit of attention from UA-camrs laughing at it for just being a seal ahha
4:43 I am not sure how you feel about some random subscriber promoting another UA-camr's content in your comments, but I think it's apt here: User Johnstone (mostly known for POCs and catch them alls) made a video about how long it would theorically take to get every single version of Spinda. Sunkern and Sunflora are no doubt the most overlooked Pokémon from gen 2. I'm saying this because I grew up with Pokémon Silver and until you mentioned them, I had no idea that they were in gen 2. I might vaguely remember seeing Sunkern but I have absolutely no memory of ever seeing Sunflora in Pokémon Silver.
Sunkern/Sunflora were unfortunately some of the numerous gen 2 pokemon that no trainers had in either the original or remakes and Sunkern was the only gen 2 pokemon to be found in the National Park (the only place it could be found) which is unfortunate as Sunflora is actually pretty useful for a pure grass pokemon.
@@emperorcubone Will has two Xatu in both the originals and gen 2 remakes. Why 2 who knows when one could have been a Girafarig or Wobbuffet (neither is used by any trainers in the games). I quite like Xatu even though it's hard to find in Gen 2 and has a terrible moveset until you can buy Psychic in Kanto. Gen 2 would be my favorite gen if not for the fact that it would be more accurate to call it 1.5 due to how much of a crutch Gen 1 is to the games and how out of the way so many Gen 2 pokemon are to find.

It's a Gen VI contender, being a Dragon-type with a good match-up against the Fairy-type is nice though.
It's more like an honorable mention, even though I do like it I also forgot to even look into it for this video, so...
Chatot was an important character in PMD Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky so I agree it's not the most ignored.
And Spinda got the Spinda Cafe
I eagerly await my Tuesday Emperor Cubone vid. This is a highlight of mine every week. Keep up the great work
Thank you! Glad to be of service!
You always have been!! Greatly appreciated
The Most Memorable Part Of Dewgong For Me Is When People Got Mad That It Appeared In Twilight Wings Even Tho It's Not In SwSh.
It got more prominence now. It's Goh's Dewgong and that thing is the Brock of his team.
Did you really have to capitalize every word?
nahh LorelaiLock is easily Dewgong's most memorable moment
Yeah Dewgong has miles more media attention then its previous stage...
@@LunaP1 The funny thing is that Gohs Dewgong has given me a newfound love for that species. I love the thing in every appearance it makes.
PLA made us remember Paras and Parasect
How annoying and surprisingly dangerous they were... and I liked it
Very true, and it only took 25 years!
With so many Pokemon existing now, there are bound to be pokemon that are forgotten.
Honestly, I'm glad the furret walcc was really popular. But that does make me worried that because it took a cute, derpy video to get it popular for a while, it might get forgotten anytime soon
That’s a different list.
Parasect was used by Erika in her lets go-rematch. So it technically has been used by at least one major trainer. But to be fair that was only a rematch. Paras and Parasect made themselves quite remembered by being oddly aggressive in the legends arceus games) so Seel seems like a fair choice.
"Shiny hunting Spinda is impossible because you can get all the forms."
Lmao, you can't even get all the forms of regular Spinda.
I agree, it has literally millions of different possible spot patterns, which is just entirely too many. But for me personally, I always think of the mystery dungeon series when I think of Spinda
@@matthewkuscienko4616 Billions of possible form. 8.5 billion to be specific.
@@RGC_animation Really? I knew it was at least in the millions range, but I didn't know it had that many possibilities
@@matthewkuscienko4616 Yes, really.
Maybe they should give Seel and Dunsparce Gen 9 regional forms plus an evo for Dunsparce. I'd like to see them get some love
Same with dewgong, i'm a fan of him
Good news: Dunsparce got an evolution.
Yet in X/Y themselves, they were among the most prominent Pokémon. I think that makes up for skipping the next two generations.
They're not even common in Pokemon GO where at least the other overlooked Pokemon gets featured a lot.
Scarlet and Violet are now out and you can get them there.
I always forget about Aipom, but I really HATE it when I encounter with it in a nuzlocke (I want a Heracross).
Paras and Parasect's aggro behaviour in Legends: Arceus most likely saved it from obscurity as well.
For gen 2:
Fans won't let sunkern die.
But honestly I forgot qwilfish got a new form in PLA
Haha at least they tried, but they can't control fan interest...
As a spinda and maractus user, i love the fact you mentioned them
wow someone with my exact same taste, they're both in my top 3 favorite pokemon! it's the ears, right?
@@route-113 they are great friends :)
Missed opportunity.
giving a weak pokemon a better type wouldnt redeem it ^^"
besides, when gamefreak decides to finally use the grass/fire type, lets perhaps NOT waste it on sunflora...
@@sodakuwun0707 It's not a waste to have New Pokémon And make older ones more Viable.
@@sodakuwun0707 don’t worry, they didn’t. Instead, a new Pokémon called Scovillain is Grass/Fire.
@@nickdentoom1173 true, but he always opens the floor for discussion, wanting the viewers to leave comments on their teams and such.
Except sigilyph has massive problems :
- it doesn’t learn it’s end game stabs until quite late (lvl 41 for air slash and 44 for psychic) meaning until then you’re gonna need to carry air cutter and psybeam which once around the mid late game start to get rather weak
- it’s only good match up in the region is marshal and that’s it (and even then all of his mons carry rock moves so gotta be cautious) meaning that sigilyph rarely has the type advantage for important battles
I’m not saying sigilyph is bad (it’s probably the psychic in the region for in game due to phenomenal early game and just good stats and coverage) but saying it’s up there with excadrill, darmanitan or Scrafty for one of the best mons in unova in game is way over exaggerated
I actually really like Carbink 😅
It’s this cute floating diamond-rabbit thing with the cutest cry ever (and okay so it has maybe two locations but it’s not THAT hard to find.
This video made me realized I've been saying Deliberd's name completely wrong for ages.
Also wanted to add to the cherrim fact, their was a big bug on legends arceus with Cherrim having a 1% catch rate which was fixed in the daybreak update! :)
Is that why I could never catch it!? Now I don't feel so bad...
@@emperorcubone That would definitely be it, you can find lots of info on it, was the hardest pokemon to catch on Legends 🤣
The most common ones I hear are Natu and Xatu being thought of as Hoenn Pokemon. Some people even think that about Skarmory!
Never been this early to one of your vids, just wanted to say keep up the guud guud content! Been subscribed for a while and loving it so far
Thank you! Glad you could be one of the first!
Carbink holds a special place in my heart. Carbink BREAK rocked really hard in one of my old decks.
burmy, i didnt even know it existed until aceus
Yeah, but overlooking that one is fine with me...
The most overlooked Pokémon to me:
Gen 1: Spearow and Fearow: If someone were to ask you to name a Flying type in Gen 1, people would definitely choose Pidgeot than Fearow
Gen 2: Shuckle: Needs an Evo
Gen 3: Spinda: Self explanatory
Gen 4: Cherrim: Self explanatory
Gen 5: Druddigon: Oh man! Druddigon, I feel is more forgettable than Maractus!
Gen 6: Furfrou: Literally, I forgot this Pokémon, more than Carbink
Gen 7: Komala: Already needs an Evo!
I didn't knew that maractus existed until Gen 7, i Never saw it and Never heard about it xD
I love sunflora as one of my favorites and I have never been able to obtain it in a game, only ever seen it in one episode of the anime and don’t have a card for it even though I love it. I hope sunflora is in Gen 9 because even if it’s weak it is still a cool Pokémon
It is
The way you pronounce Delibird (like delivered) is so much better than the usual way, I wanna adopt that
Skiddo and Gogoat are two of my favourites - but they feel forever trapped in Kalos. Here's hoping for Scarlet and Violet! 🤞
They’re in!
🐐🥳
Someone very clearly watches Super Carlin Brothers
A man of culture
There's a universe where gamefreak actually cared about the galar fossils and made them cool
The one pokemon from Gen 4 for me has got to be Mothim. Mothim is only used by one trainer in the game. The only way to get it without trading is to make a male burmy appear in a honey tree.
Omg thank you so much for this video seel and dewgong have been my favorites since Pokémon came out and it makes me so mad they stopped including them in the game 😢
bruxish!! such a helpful underrated pokémon that i enjoyed using so much!!
Fun fact, "Paras" in finnish means "the best".
"May the best one win" translates to "paras voittakoon", "voittakoon" being "may -- one win" and that is bit of a recurring joke in my head.
May Paras win!
For Gen 4 I thought it was gonna be finneon/Lumineon. Legit never met someone that used one lol
I don't think Carbink is overlooked at all, I mean he was on Steven's team, and showed up pretty prominently in Alola.
Cherrim was in gardenia team but doesn't change the fact they are overlooked
@@hindubanodhruvnahi779 If we take teams into account, Milo also has a Cherrim.
I think gogoat is the most overlooked in gen 6

I think Pokémon who get regional forms should also get buffed theme selves (if they’re bad) because making a regional form still leaves the original Pokémon on its own to be bad (if it was originally)
I wholeheartedly agree
Coming back to this after Dudunsparce and and the paradox delibird is kinda funny
Keep it up on your work and this video and channel
2:48 excuse me who says it like that
I do! It makes a lot more sense then a bird who works at a deli, and maybe sound like it has "delivered" something? Like presents...
Houndour/Houndoom are forever underrated. One of my top 5 favorites
I dunno, considering Mega Houndoom is a thing.
I love Seel and Dewgong, I feel the problem is more its stats, movepool and 3d model.
I hear Natu and Xatu a lot as well, people thinking they're from Gen 3...
Good news: Not only do I also like Bruxish and have used one before, but it is in S/V!

so a funny thing about arctovish is before i knew about the whole fossil mix up thing going on in the world i didn't see the fact its head was upside down for a while so i just thought the pattern at the front looked like a cute little cat mouth or something but then i realised....oh wait its head's upside down eww put it out of its misery at least the others can somewhat function

@@standardhuman8675 yeah, take a closer look the jaw dracovish has, it has it too just where its brain should be cuz its head is flipped
I too had trouble realizing that was not a mouth. I only figured it out after looking at Dracovish. They just should have given us a better angle on it so it was more obvious.
@@wispyfox6854 It's head is actually on backwards, if you think about it. Even Dracovish, whose head is attached to what would be its tail, has a forwards-facing head.

I really hope Jynx gets more love
I'd argue venonat could be a contender for gen 1 as it hasn't been in ANY regional dex since gen 1 (unless you count gen 2s kanto dex I think)
It is being featured in Gen 9!
@@RGC_animation Musta missed it, sorry
I mean... Venonat has had Anime showcase with Tracey. I think that is why it isn't mentioned.

I would have thought Heatmor or even Durant for Gen 5, tbh
It good day when Cubone posts
4:43 I am not sure how you feel about some random subscriber promoting another UA-camr's content in your comments, but I think it's apt here: User Johnstone (mostly known for POCs and catch them alls) made a video about how long it would theorically take to get every single version of Spinda. It's even more insane as you probably think it is.
9:46 jokes on you bruxish is in scarlet and violet
Sunkern and Sunflora are no doubt the most overlooked Pokémon from gen 2. I'm saying this because I grew up with Pokémon Silver and until you mentioned them, I had no idea that they were in gen 2. I might vaguely remember seeing Sunkern but I have absolutely no memory of ever seeing Sunflora in Pokémon Silver.
That seem to happen a lot with Natu and Xatu as well; a lot of people only seemed to come across them in Ruby and Sapphire...
I think I had a Sunfora on my Gild Version.
They’ll be in S/V.

I'd say Porygon2 and Z deserve an honorable mention for being unjustly banned from the anime
Well sure, but they made up for it by being great in the games as go-to favorites for battle.
I feel like Seviper fits this bill, since its usually second banana to its rival Zangoose.
Really? I see it the other way; Zangoose is just a non-evolving Normal type, whereas Seviper is a better Arbok that was used by Team Rocket. But to be fair they're both a little overlooked.
Carbink was a great pick legit forgot about him for a hot minute
It’s a great day when the Emperor uploads.
Love how many overlooked mons got a spotlight in Mystery Dungeon! Spinda, Sunflora, Chatot even though you didn't pick it...

Dunsparce!! He and Slugma were two Pokémon that I saw for the first time in Pokémon Colosseum. I hadn't played the Hoenn games yet, so every time I saw an unfamiliar Pokémon I assumed it had to be from Gen 3. I was shocked that there were Johto Pokémon I'd never even heard of!
Dunsparce wouldn’t be considered “overlooked” anymore now that it has an evolution.
I forgot that Carbink even existed in gen 6 just now. Lol For a moment I thought they were actually introduced during gen 7.
I think I might have come across far more of them in gen 7 than I ever did in gen 6.
So... as someone who's played the Dark Cloud series games... Bruxish is definitely a pokemon I try to stay away from because it reminds me of a certain fish in DC2 that is never seen again... Kind of fitting...
