- A very 80's sounding song from "Power Metal", but I'll be honest - sometimes I jammed to it between "Over and Out", "Down Below", "Deathtrap" and "Pussytight". Actually there was another one on there called "Burn" I think . . pretty much Vinnie on double bass the whole way through . . man, the good ole days . . .
The Kid ain't no joke. These guys were monsters from the start.
No matter what era, Dimebag delivers!
Phil's voice, attitude and stage presence is overwhelming.
I just love being reminded of the hair metal version of Pantera😅
and they will still tear your face off

Фил сексуален! Настоящий альфа самец! 💪😎😘
Power Metal it's an awesome album, such a shame that they are ashamed of it 😂🤘
they aren't ashamed of it, that's the glam era lol. they basically just felt it was a bit too close to judas priest and they needed to develop their own unique identity. IMO their best album though, it was amazing how good they were at a young age
They’re not ashamed of anything cause they’re long gone now!
@@326vince Oh you are so funny 🖕
@@josipconjar I didn’t mean it to be funny. Actually I’m bummed they’re not with us any longer! I’m not thrilled with the tribute version of the band I wish was still with us. Really sad thing is I believe if all that awful stuff hadn’t happened they woulda played again together someday? I suppose I’ll never know for sure though because of some sick psycho!
@@326vince ofc I didn't mean to be sarcastic
Power Metal is just a good album. It sounds like Judas Priest, which is what they were going for. They also look like any other rock band at the time, like Slayer, who had Kerry King perform songs with them off this album live. People have a weird hang up about this album, but I find VDOP and FBD to be the cheesy ones that sound like awkward middle years to me.
It is not a strange obsession, it is longing for that great era of powerful classic metal that made you shake your head, in addition to being a gem that also shines due to the contrast with the great other albums
This was how all hair metal bands of the eighties should have sounded (Poison, Whitesnake, Motley Crue, I'm talking to you)
Are we sure this is 1987?? Seems like it would be 1988.
I've been waiting for somebody to ask about that. The tape has absolutely nothing on it regarding the date . So I looked up dates online at one of those gig sites, and just picked something that might have made sense. I know on one show, Daryl is about to play p**** tight and he specifically says happy birthday to Phil . When I looked that up I figured it almost certainly had to be that show and that date. But if you have some other information please let me know
@@mikepatterson437 I'm just a big fan but I'm pretty sure these shows are from 1988. Phil was still doing the poofy hair thing in 87.
I'm not positive, maybe if I dig out Pantera picture book I can figure it out but I'm pretty sure its 1988.
The crowd reaction to HARD RIDE makes me think that Power Metal was out (may 1988) when this show was played.
Search some other vids from 87 & 88. 99% sure this is 88 especially with all the PM songs being played
Yes please check and update me there was nothing on the tape as far as a date
@@mikepatterson437 my money is in 1988
