Phil, one of the best voices in metal.
Texas Turner No argument here.
Texas Turner the greatest
Well, was...
You cant keeo that kind of voice going forever before something breaks! The dude had the best metal voice of all time imo! Second place goes to cory from slipknot but hey thatz my opinion!
alphaenemy he’s still the same person, therefore that comment is invalid
I'm 44 years old and this still gives me chillbumps. Metal never dies, my brothers and sisters.
Up the Irons!
Jake Waschke \\UP THE IRONS//!!!!!!!!!!
Horns all the way
Aha, same for me Bill, and Pantera always makes me get a fuckin' erection, GREAT band, they may have been the best metal band.
Maiden too is fuckin' great, but to me Pantera is more original. But hey, their first albums sounded as Judas, lol!
At 6:15 you can hear Dimebag play one of the riffs to “Hollow” amazing!
PANTERA , is the definition of
HEAVY METAL !
Dime still ahead of his time.
WOW! GREAT EAR!!!
Does something similar with piss and use my third arm. The bridge in use my third arm is like a pre chorus or some shit in piss. But it's slowed down. Might even be a diff key. But the timing and notation and choice of notes within the different key are the same. If it is.
Crazy, bro. Incredible that he might had a lot of future riffs and solos already storaged in his brain back in the day. Dude was and still is one of the greatest guitar genius
Phils range was superhuman, his vibrato, grit, everything! Rex's Bass playing was second to none, perfect tone, fills, melody, dimebag was well, dimebag say no more, and Vinnie was just like a precise machine gun that you could set your watch to, not to mention his sharp kick tone.
In my honest opinion, this was the pinnacle of Metal, these four made it to the peak of what is the greatest Metal that has never been topped. To me this is the bar to compare anything else to.
Very well put. I agree with you 💯 %.
He could do better than what u hear in this video..too much energy for Phil I think to be on pitch with every verse...but h
When he was on man waS he on..never be another pantera 4 sure!!!! Over n out friends !
One of the best songs!
The sleep is such an underrated pantera song , imo CFH has the greatest pantera song's followed by VDOP
Power metal
The Sleep, The Art of Shredding and The Will to Survive must belong to Power Metal album
@@dannyduarte4360 personally I fell like "the will to survive" is the only song that belongs on power metal art of shredding and the sleep belong on cowboys
@@dannyduarte4360 don't forget Shattered
Dime picked a guitar and it just made sense . He was truly brilliant even at a very young age . Always played tight .
Some people are born to do something specific, not all find what that is, but Dime did. AXE UNTIL DEATH. RIP
He truly was talented
He won Soo many guitar contest the people who ran the contest told Dime he couldn't participate in the contest anymore because he would always win them so they made him honerary judge lol
I'd challenge anyone to find many bands tighter than these 4 were. When these guys got on stage they clicked. Dime with his absolute god-like fluency, Phil with his halford-esque wails, Rex with his thundering bass. And Vinnie back there keeping time like a Swiss watch. Nothing short of magnificent
There's a damn fine reason why these guys are one of the greatest metal bands of all time
As much as I like late Pantera, Down and Superjoint, I wish Phil took better care of his voice. There was a lot he could do with it back in the day.
For real. He was amazing. What a shame
Seriously he's threatening halford's range in this clip.
Sacrifices...
Heroin is a helluva drug.
Nah, he was already blowing up his voice by the time of CFH and he was just taking weed
this entire videos gives me goosebumps; dimes solo on the sleep is beyond magical, and afterwards, singinn along with phil on over and out bridge is just CUTE, cant believe the level of energy and perfection this band had and how saddening is for me and a lot of people to realize we will never have the chance to see them live.
1999 phx...
man what a privilege everyone there seeing such a great performance. Dimes solos were amazing.
Dimebag's solo's were and are still! amazing! R.I.P. 4Ever Stronger Than All!!!
Damn right.
The Solo is just astounding. A slightly alternate version as well. Dime was a genius.
4:56 never gets old. Rex is one of the greatest bass players to ever live.
4:57 Rex oh my god
+Ryan Jeffares very underrated bass player, some people forget that Pantera has only one guitarist, and when Dime plays solos live, Rex keeps the groove strongly
damn it!!!
@@stonethecrow80 very underrated? the guy is god and everybody acknowledges it in the metal/rock scene
@@Stevenaramburo unfortunately not everybody
4:57 and all the fucking song hahaha
Dude...holy shit. I've been dying for this kind of footage for so long. It can't be overstated how utterly amazing this is.
Rip Vinnie... know you’re jamming out in heaven with Dime. CHEERS! 🍻🤘🐆
Imagine who shows up for the session.
This video makes you want to time travel, someone should make a time machine, good times, still the best.
This vid gives me like a home sick feelin in my stomach. I wish we could go bak...
6:14 He plays The Hollow before it was released wow.
2:12 "Unsure and scared" high notes - 2:23 best drum fill ever (better than studio)
I really loved that drum fill too the first time I heard it. It's almost bizarre sounding, which fits the guitar perfectly.
right!!! amazing instruments saved phil on that high e vocal
Holy crap. The Sleep in all its magnificent glory!
That fill at 9:53 leading into the solo like omg just amazing
And I just saw your cover a few days ago....
Also, thanks to you, I got inspired to improve my playing tremendously...
Kayla!
such an underrated song. The solo is fucking insane.
The Sleep has my favorite guitar solo maybe of all time.
I am glad I was born to love metal!
Holy shit that was perfect!
phil is humble, great person, the audience sings with him, he thanks them. what a kickass show
The greatest metal frontman.
back then
Early Pantera will never be topped, they’re still the kings 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
"Diamond Darrell lead guitar!" he is the only guitar.
You don't need another guitarist when you have a guitarist like Dimebag Darrell
And he's also the only lead guitarist! Lol.
Rock In Paradise Dime (12/08/2004) and now Vinnie Paul (6/22/2018) \m/ CFH \m/
I just cry man.
Beautiful as the Beginning.
Gig at The Basement 01/21/90
Best of the Best.
01. THE SLEEP 0:00
02. OVER AND OUT 6:45
they should have put 'Over and Out' on the CFH album
I'm glad they didn't. I had listened to CFH through Steel all the way through and had begun to tire of them. Then I discovered this absolute fucking gem of a song in Power Metal. Now I have a whole new Pantera album to grow to love.
no. its sound different
NORTHERN MUSICIAN also death trap and burnn
True man
power metal musically sound angry.
That bass line touched my soul😳👻 4:57
one of the best Pantera's song!
Alex Gruzd two of them in fact
Dime had a good voice.
That drum fill at 9:53 sounded like a fuckin harley davidson
The best dimebag's solo for ever! We miss you 🤘😢🤘
I totally Agree 100% I'm 44 and was Lucky enough to See Pantera 4 times!! Still Love drinking Beeers and getting on the Pantera Wagon so to speak!! Watchin Dime Scream Out Some Killer Guitar Solos!!
4 times! You, my friend, are so goddamn lucky!
6:12 That's a foreshadow of what would become Hollow. Amazing :')
Phil is fucking awesome, you can feel there's still glam hard rock in his voice !
It is called classic heavy metal.
Fav solo is in the sleep! Thanks for posting this, great to see over and out! Love power metal!
I miss those days
This is that Tampora band! I love Tampora!
Did anybody here him play that hollow thing! Great rare upload
Alex bob Yes!🤘
Lol i thought the same
yes ahaha
I love over and out. It’s so awesome. 🔥🔥
Excellent footage and and sound.
I love Pantera's Power Metal album. I wish after 1990 they'd kept playing songs from it live!!
Apparently from what I’ve heard they played songs from Power Metal as late as ‘93 but good luck finding footage of that.
6:07 Hollow riff. Rock in Peace Big Vin and Dime.🤘
So happy I got to see these guys live in the U.K. it was amazing, but I didn't realize at the time what a blessing it was for me to have that opportunity. R.I.P Dimebag, R.I.P. Big Vin, long live Rex & long live Phil & thank you all for PanterA.
God DAMN Phil with them fucking vocals!
I can remember bits & pieces of this show, basically anytime Pantera came to Houston. I miss this band and those days!
The best solo ever! OMFG ❤️333 getcha pull bro 🤘
I'm so grateful that I grew up when Pantera were just coming onto the scene. Having the experience of hearing new Pantera albums was intense and meant everything to me. I truly pity kids today. They'll never know what it was like to have *REAL* musicians putting out legendary music. These poor kids are going to get old and talk about how Lil Nas X was brilliant.... it's sad. RIP Music🤘😑🤘
Thanks so much Godfather 123.
This is the best values of Rock History for all the world and of curse, the Fans and the curious.
PANTERA!!!!
NEVER THE SAME ONLY A LEGEND.
DIME&VINNIE
PHIL&REX BROTHERS 4 EVER.
Imo the two very best Pantera songs every part is good
They have no idea that they listened to one of the greatest guitar solo of all time in front of their eye.
Thank you so much. Thank you, thank you so much!
Thank you from Australia 7yrs later after this share man..
Thank you
THIS IS "THE BEST SOLO EVER FROM ALL, METAL SONGS"
PANTERA , is the definition of
HEAVY METAL !
Crazy how he plays the Hollow riff between The Sleep and Over and Out. This 1990 performance was like a bridge between late 80s Priest/thrash influenced Pantera and their famous early 90s groove output. There’s also a hardcore undercurrent in there going back to the Power Metal days (Phil is a massive Black Flag fan).
dimebag plays guitar like boy with a toy jjajajja what a big master dimebag rest in peace
My favourite Pantera song. Such a shame there are not many live versions. They should have played it on every concert. Thanks for sharing.
I wish Over and Out had been on Cowboys From Hell. Such a great song.
The only live video I've seen of Pantera playing "The Sleep". Thank you
pure gold!!!!!!
6:14 suddenly out of nowhere comes the bridge riff from hollow, damn, you really can't throw a riff away
So cool! What a gift!
Rockmoore, I just love you and your videos man. I always come back to them. Love the transition here between songs, I swear it sounds like thr bit from "Hollow" on Vulgar when it changes pace to that sick monster riff. This band was something special man, they had so many riffs and ideas early on that made them into the heavy metal kings they were. I love these videos because it really illustrates the scene and helps paint a picture of what life was like for these dudes who lived their music in this era. Rock on Rockmoore \m/
All 4 in my heart 4 ever...
Thanks so much for all these videos brother. It takes me back to my late teens and early twenties when bands like Pantera were coming up. Saw them 5 times in the '90s. They played at Hammer Jacks in Baltimore in 92. My first pit ever. I'll never forget times like that.
Dimebags guitar solo in The Sleep is my favorite solo of his ever. Thank you for the upload!
You can see the transition here from Glam to Heavy
been to every show they ever played in OREGON, ALL OF EM. im 38 my first show was pantera age 11 i was at show their final tour 2001. no matter what band phil is in any show hits portland i'm there
I missed them on reinventing the steel because I didn't really have the money to catch them in salem, I literally said to my friends "it's alright, ill be able to catch them on their next tour".
DIME hits GOD status right at the 4:20 mark!
Love the cowbell before the over and out solo
No me canso de escuchar ese tema
I never used drugs, but Pantera addicts is like a natural and good drug to my mind and health!
just wanted to say thank u for posting this he was the greatest and he still is . oh and by the way the other three were pretty good themselves lol
Always been my favorite song from cfh. Thank for the video
Epic footage here nothing more to say than that
Early Pantera was the best, CFH and Vulgar are their best albums imo |m|
over and out was by far the best track on Power album
Awesome! Thanks so much for sharing these gems :) LOVE IT
Wensday(ladies night) thru Saturday night at Savvys on Lancaster in Fort Worth. Pantera playing three sets a night. Hanging at the house on Monterey street. Life was good.
2:14 - sick!!!

Beautiful!
Love love love it!!!
I'm proud to be one of the fews
This is great !
BRILLIANT Diamond.
Over and out was in my warm-up routine for a long time! Those riffs were great back in the day.
Phil's voice before it was blown out.
When Phil had long hair it reminds me of Mike Patton’s hair, they kinda had the same hairstyle which is awesome 🤘
3:11 perfect bass guitar druns
Amazing quality
Damn, that guitar has a great voice!
Thanks again Godfather, this brings floods of awesome memories every time I watch it as though it was the first. \m/ 333 \m/
This kicks ass!
Dimebag is God like in this video.
